Kiundria was nothing short of amazing to me. This was my first visit and will definitely not be my last. I think I have finally found my home salon. She really cares for the health of your tresses. Before she trimmed, she walked me through the process and showed me what she was going to cut and why. She was very knowledgeable about anything I asked. I have already referred her to someone else! (: 10/10

I was unsure of what to expect from this place but I enjoyed my visit. Kiundria was my stylist and she did a voluminous silk press on my hair along with a stylish cut. The salon is very cute, super trendy and bright. I didn’t feel the most welcome there, however. I didn’t expect or desire an entire welcoming committee but I felt awkward in the salon, almost as if I didn’t belong. The prices are fair and the location is convenient; my hair turned out great and I would recommend.

Kiundria did an excellent work on my head, perfect wash and scrub, I suffer from itchy scalp it was a great massage! & the feeling of sincerity and love for what a person does that penetrate throughout your body I felt that aura about her. She didn’t ask too many questions just because it was quiet, she asked quality questions and she checked on me at the right times while I sat under the dryer that really matters to me. She twisted my hair perfectly and I definitely walked out feeling pretty. Excellent Salon! I’ve been to salons where everyone is loud talking there’s no serenity at all, and no one checks on you until they think you’re dry. This salon is perfect I prefer to go to a salon where there’s peace not all that loud hard rap and cursing videos playing in the background. I definitely look for a salon where I can get serenity and escape from the hustle and bustle of life and to walk out feeling pretty. This Salon is that plus more! Its a Blessing!

The salon is nice & clean Sharra C. Fixed my hair to my liking! I like the vibe, each beautician appeared to be about their business and focused on their client. Light/ low music in the background (no cursing) I will be back again. I'm not one for much conversation so I liked the fact that my beautician got straight to work on my hair and I didn't have to say anything. She saw what she was working with and hooked me up!

Let’s see, where do I start? I’m very big on energy and the salon’s energy was welcoming. The salon is beautiful and the staff were very friendly and professional. Tierenney interlocked my hair and she did a wonderful job! She explained the process, she educated me on my hair and how to care for my locs. She was very patient and answered all of my questions. I love everything about her, just a beautiful spirit. This was not my first time at the salon, my first two appointments were with Romika and she was also very pleasant and professional when she provided services. Thank you so much ladies!!!!

I've been here 3 times. Very nice space (Lenox Village location and the new Donelson Pike location), and my style always comes out great. The only complaint I have is the manner in which the stylists educate the clients about their hair. If my hair is dry/damaged/I need specific treatments, it's absolutely fine to tell me that, that's part of what you do. But be careful how you speak to people. I had one young lady in particular that had a nasty attitude and acted like she was being put out to do my hair. You never know why someone's hair is in the condition it's in, and it's often times a sensitive subject. I haven't been back in quite some time, but I may try again in the future.

This is a great salon, the decor is beautiful and it is very clean. Kiundria did a wonderful job on my hair, she cut and colored it. She took the time to talk me through each step of the process and I am greatful for that being this was a new transformation for me. I am definitely returning when it is time for a refresh. I went to this salon for the first time last week and I will be returning for sure!!! My stylist was Sable and she was awesome. She took great care of my hair!! She told me everything that she was doing to my hair and recommended solutions to some breakage problems that I have. I showed her a picture of a twist updo that I wanted and my updo looks just like the picture!!! The service was excellent and I loved the steam hydration treatment. I have gotten so many compliments on my hair. Thanks Sable!!

I love this facility. Very nice decor and just an overall nice atmosphere. India did a fabulous job on my lash extensions and hair! She really listened to my needs and was able to give me a great look for my event. Will be going back to her! Would definitely suggest this salon and India for anyone’s hair care and overall beauty needs.

Kiundria is awesome, creative and just a wonderful hairstylist. I posted my picks and people raved about my hair. She educated me on how to keep my hair hydrated and her attitude is very high-energy. The color gave me an entire new look. Kiundria you rock!!

I went in for a consultation but I ended up getting my hair done. My stylist was Romika. She was very professional, informative, and did a WONDERFUL job on my hair. She gave me many styling options even though I had serious hair issues. I was very pleased and booked another appointment.

I've gone here for about a year, now. I generally go to different stylists here for two reasons: 1) I work varying shifts, so I just catch who I can when I can; and 2) I don't get my hair done that often, so when I do come in (every 2-6mos), the people who might've done my hair three months ago are no longer around. I generally try to go when there are few people in the building due to anxiety--I'm not good with talking to people I don't know. Thankfully, there are stylists here that work throughout the day, so making an appointment for 9am is just as possible as making an appointment for 6pm if you don't mind working different people every time. I would love to have a dedicated stylist because everyone is talented here. However, between my work schedule and sporadic hair appointments, I don't see that happening.

Great salon for African American ladies who have natural hair. I have gone to this salon off and on for the last 2 years and have been serviced by several different stylists. I've gotten a variety of styles: comb coils, twist out, flat iron, and kinky twists. I always leave happy! Plus the salon is in an excellent location. Right in the heart of Lenox Villiage

I contacted the salon on Saturday for a last minute appointment and they were able to fit me in on Monday. The salon is really nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I went to get crochet faux locs and I love my hair, I definitely will be going back to get me hair done there. I really enjoyed my experience there

I have been to this salon three times and it’s fabulous! The atmosphere is very calming, clean, and professional. You can tell these stylist know what they are doing. I got box braids from Romika (she is outstandingly talented) my first time, a trim and deep conditioning the second time, and last week I got another trim and cornrows with hair added from India (the quality and technique is stunning). I can tell these women know what they are doing bc both made very similar recommendations and comments based on my hair texture. I appreciate that bc like many people I don’t want my hair to get damaged or styled incorrectly. Everyone has different hair and they recognize that and do the best for your needs. For the comments concerning them “not having the hair I wanted”, I find it highly unreasonable to assume they will have the length or color you want if it’s not natural or a standard length. I would call to ask if they have the hair you want instead of assuming. They are not a hair supply store; they are a salon. I brought my own hair for both of my appointments bc I knew the color and length I wanted. They took $10 off my total which I find reasonable. I will be coming back!

I found this salon online and i was a uncertain about it because I’ve only been going to one salon my entire life, but i decided i needed a change. I came to this salon to get box braids and when I say it was THE funniest experience. Everyone in the salon had me cracking up laughing about any and everything. But besides that, my braids came out looking BEAUTIFUL! Tee did them and she did such a beautiful job I couldn’t thank her enough. She was so nice(everyone in the salon is nice btw) and gave me plenty of tips on hair AND life. I’m so happy I came to this salon and switched it up because a change was needed and this was a magnificent change.

About 5 years ago, I had a terrible experience at a different salon. I was so nervous going in to get my 2nd "big chop", but my barber/stylist Sunshyne was very professional and kind. She started on time, and asked questions to really understand what I wanted. She did a great job shaping up my cut into a nice taper. I LOVE my hair!!!! I have gotten so many compliments on it. I continually go to Romika for all my hair appointments, she is so sweet, helpful, knowledgeable about hair and professional. Plus she has done such an awesome job with coloring my hair! Definitely recommend her :-)

Natural Awakening has always been a safe haven for natural hair in the Nashville community. 5 years ago when my sisterlocks were ungroomed for six months. The lovely owner spent 6-8 hours grooming, coloring & retightening my hair. Six months ago when my edges begin to thin due to no fault of my sisterlock technician(the owner). She was patient and honest when answering all of my questions and giving pros and cons to how we could grow my edges back. Within 6 months she has started five new locks in areas that were thinning. Natural Awakening is very professional, clean, and safe environment for all ethnicities and special needs related to natural hair. For the last 5 to 6 years I have seen women leave their children for more than 3 hours to get their hair done, women leave crying with tears of joy because they are overwhelmed by the transformation, and women praying for each other. I am grateful for this Safe Haven within the Nashville community and hope that others are able to experience this phenomenon.

Romika was awesome! My daughter is really sensitive when it comes to washing her locs but Romika had her throwing thumbs up throughout the entire process! I loved how the retwist came out and the atmosphere was very comfortable and welcoming. I will definitely be returning to see Romika especially since they will be relocating closer to where I live!
