Both stylists I've had each of the two times I've been here have been great, so I'll keep coming back. The ambience, not so much. If you are looking for the quiet, relaxing Aveda experience that Aveda salons are known for, you'll be disappointed. The music is loud and not at all relaxing, and the lights are unpleasantly bright. They do offer coffee, tea, and water, though, as well as included head and shoulder massages.

Emma is the absolute BEST here for waxing!!! She has been doing my waxing for a few months now and is so precise. Not to mention, she is so sweet and easy to talk to! She also did a lash lift and tint for me and it was amazing! I originally found Jon Alan on Class Pass, and will be a customer here for as long as I possibly can! Go see Emma soon!!

I got a facial, dermaplaning, and my brows waxed with Emma Childress and it was a dream!! I had never had a facial before and it exceeded all my expectations. Everything was super clean and comfortable, and all the Aveda products smell so good!! This was my first time at Jon Alan Salon. Emma did an amazing job on my lash lift! After a disastrous lash lift (NOT by Emma or anyone at Jon Alan) a few years ago, I was nervous to give it another try, but Emma was an absolute master! My lashes look incredible; better than I could’ve imagined. Emma was also kind, personable, knowledgeable, and professional. And extremely mindful of COVID precautions. I will certainly be back! 10/10 would definitely recommend.

BROWS Once you get your brows done by Emma YOU WILL NEVER GO TO ANYONE ELSE!!! I've been getting my eyebrows done since I was 10 years old so needless to say I have VERY thick eyebrows. However, I have never been able to achieve that perfect arch or symmetry and always had to fill in my brows to make them look even despite having thick brows. Emma is a perfectionist and will spend as long as it takes on making sure you look perfect walking out of the salon. Emma also took the time to educate me on skin health and to tell me about other services but was never pushy. A lot of the products she has recommended have made a world of difference on my skin and hair. I also tried the eyebrow and lash tinting and OMG I WILL NEVER GO BACK! It really makes a world of difference! I am so happy with my eyebrows and lashes and love knowing she'll take good care of me. Thank you Emma! HAIR I have put my hair through hell over the years using box dye or going to cheap salons. I am so thankful I moved to Capital View and that the Jon Alan Salon opened in my building and even more thankful that Beth joined their team!!!! Having Blonde hair, I've never been able to achieve the color I was looking for. Beth was able to get my hair back to the color I wanted and cut my hair so that it would grow the way I wanted to better suit my face. I really appreciated how much time Beth spent educating me and walking me through her process. I love being able to go into the salon now with no worries and know that she'll take care of me! If you are in need of a facial, GO SEE EMMA. She is amazing! I have struggled with severe acne on my face, and with a hydro facial and a couple other treatments by Emma, my acne has practically disappeared. She is the most thorough esthetician I know. She will take care of you. I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate her. If you struggle with acne like me, you are going to want to see her!

My boyfriend & I went to get facials with Emma. They offered us wine as soon as we got there. This was my first time getting a facial & I was nervous since being touched makes me uncomfortable. In less than 10 minutes she made me feel like I was on vacation & at a spa in Iceland. She was patient with my extremely sensitive skin & communicated efficiently everything she was doing to calm my nerves. She even let me pick out a smell I liked to use for my facial & sent us home with free samples of products. She was very knowledgeable about skincare & was good at explaining things so that I could understand. She opened a whole new world of skincare for both of us. We learned a lot about our skin & how to take care of it better. She gave us great advice on how to improve our skincare routines. Aside from the amazing service I received, this place is very aesthetically pleasing. It makes you feel rich just to be getting services done there. They send all kinds of coupons/promotions to your email, too.

She was very thorough with the service. My skin felt so great afterwards! She went through cleansing, steam, & exfoliation, and even extracted my blackheads. Her touch was perfect and I could tell my skin was completely nourished & hydrated when I was done! I would HIGHLY recommend her and this salon!

This salon gave my wife and I one of the best gifts we could ever ask for. My beautiful wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in October. After undergoing a double mastectomy and losing her breasts on her birthday in December, we then found out she'd need chemo. She decided she wanted to determine when and how she lost her hair and created a vision for it. The wonderful people at Jon Alan Salon in Capitol View opened their salon to us on a Sunday, donated their time (makeup, stylists, and photographer), let our family and friends come in to support us, and helped us create a precious moment we'll never forget. They not only are a fantastic salon, but they have hearts of gold. My wife and I will be forever grateful to them!

Jon Alan Salon in the Gultch.. what can I say.. this salon made an amazing act of love by opening on a day off to host a head shaving for my best friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer and is about to start chemo. She wanted to choose when her hair fell out, and her husband wanted to shave his head right along with her.. Jon Alan provided the most BEAUTIFUL day to shower them with love. From doing her makeup, to bringing in a Photogropher, playing the most beautiful music to comfort her, allowing their friends and family come in, 4 employees volunteering their time, they wouldn’t even accept tips. I visited Emma for a eyebrow wax with tint as well as a eyelash lift with tint. I am overjoyed with the results. I thought my eyelashes were non-existent, but Emma's skills proved my natural eyelashes do exist. The lift and tint was painless, comfortable (I even fell asleep) and makes my eyelashes look so good. Emma shaped my eyebrows just the way I like them. They look full, beautiful and clean. I love that she used my natural shape and kept them thick. I will be going back to Emma regularly for these two services.

February 2023, Had my hair done recently, my husband keeps saying he loves the color. My husband does not like the smell of freshly colored hair but Aveda products do not bother him. Katie did an excellent job on my cut and my color. My mom loves Ashley Rose because Ashley knows how to cut thinning hair without leaving my mom looking baldish. I really like the occasional 20% off offers that I can buy online. I really appreciate the communication by the people who answer the phone. I recently tried the Botanical Conditioning Treatment - my hair was soft and full for over a week from that treatment. I like my hair with Aveda technicians. As we get older it is important to take care of our hair properly to keep it lively! Highly recommend Katie, Ashley is good too! Thanks Jon Alan!
