I never had a hairstylist till I met Claire 4 years ago. Ever since my first appointment I have been going back to her every time. Claire is AMAZING at her craft and makes me feel beautiful and cool every time. She is always attentive to my request and references and always does an excellent job meeting my expectations. One of the main qualities I admire about Claire is her drive to always learn and expand her knowledge and skills when it comes to hair. If you are looking for someone who is super positive, a master at their craft, and will geek out with you on anime/games, I highly recommend booking an appointment with Claire right away! <3

Awesome, independent, hair salon with the coolest vibes. Bright and welcoming atmosphere with a nice street view. My FAV part of the suite was the art wall. Booking was fast, had my consultation on a Friday and my hair appointment the next day. Prices are reasonable and they depend on what you are looking to get done. Claire was my stylist and she was attentive, professional, and very kind. She was also enthusiastic about me becoming a potential client (which was a big plus for me). Overall very happy with my experience and I recommend Defy Hair 100%

To start, I am a very picky individual with a high attention to detail and I can wholeheartedly say Defy Hair MPLS will have you leaving their salon happy as can be! They provide a clean, respectful, fun, and positive environment with an open and accepting mentality. Not once have I ever felt judged but rather treated with care and kindness. Audra has helped me achieve and work towards all my hair goals! She has a genuine passion for hair paired with a highly experienced ever growing skillset. Seamless she took me from a full head of galaxy colors to the iciest blondes with a full set of custom toned extensions. All the while not leaving a strand of color behind. Just looking for a haircut only? No problem! She will work with you to achieve all the hair goals. Her skills are unparalleled when put up against any other stylist I have seen in the past. Defy Hair MPLS is amazing!

I just had my first cut with Audra at Defy and I cannot express enough how impressed I was with my experience. First, I look and feel great. Audra is super professional and made me feel instantly comfortable, then gave me the best haircut I've had in years! Second, I shared that I have disability that can make styling a struggle. Audra caught this and gave me a very accessible hair tutorial at the end of my appointment. I can tell Audra was paying attention and it made me EMOTIONAL that Audra took the time to make sure I had the tools to style my hair in a way that works for me. A+++++++ for accessibility and inclusivity. Third, I absolutely LOVE the pricing structure. It is gender neutral and based on length!!! The only warning I have for future clients is to give yourself a little extra time to find parking, but I TRULY can't recommend this place highly enough! Do not hesitate to book, you will not regret it.

Claire is awesome! I think good communication is really important to make sure you and your colorist are on the same page and she is so good at that. I feel like my hair comes out exactly like the reference pictures I bring and you just can't beat that. Also she is great great company to chat with! All around, highly recommend!!!

Defy Hair MPLS and Audra have been great! They did such a wonderful job on both hair and makeup for me and others in my wedding party. I opted for a trial run of my hair before hand and it really helped relieve some of the stress of making sure everything was perfect on the big day. In addition to that I think Audra has been able to color and cut my hair better than anyone else. I receive many compliments about my hair from friends about how much they like what I am doing with it and the credit has to go to Audra. She always goes above and beyond!

Claire is a unicorn. I really appreciate Claire’s ability to come up with a plan (when I’m far from my goals.. or when I stray from them, oops.) and break things down to where they seem attainable, even if it takes a couple visits I know I’m being listened to and my hair is being cared for rather than rushed through. Over the last couple years in Claire’s chair, my hair color has been transformed from disaster (on two separate occasions.. not Claire’s fault), I’ve had extensions put in and taken out, and I’ve been transformed from brown to an ice queen. Every experience has been awesome.

I've been going to Audra for years, and I'm so excited that she has her own space now! She's the absolute best, I always leave feeling like a million bucks! The location is amazing, the suite itself is great with huge windows great for people (and dog!) watching. I can't recommend Audra or the rest of Defy Hair MPLS enough!
