I was in town for a conference and scheduled an up do! I was so happy with the stylist. She did an excellent job and was a delight to talk to. I highly recommend Avant Hair & Cosmetics. They are what you would expect from an Aveda Salon!

Avant is a stellar salon. The facility is modern, clean and the staff is welcoming. My stylist Deborah Anderson provides outstanding service. She is on time, offers suggestions for possible changes and is predictable in terms of her services. I know what the outcome will be and I am never left guessing. Avant is the only place I will go.

Once again, I repeat, there is no place like AVANT salon. This time due to a conflict in my schedule I had to change my appointment time. The front desk worked around it and made it possible for me to have my haircut today. As always, TOM was at the top of his game and Worked his magic with my hair and I left happy with the results! 31 years with Tom. Can’t even imagine not going here!

Yea, because I'm worth it. After too many bad cuts at Great Clips, I decided paying double the money for a hair cut every five weeks was in order. Since the late summer 2021, I've had a good experience from the moment I step in the door. Very professional receptionist staff and a sharp stylist I've chosen (Kyndra). It's worth the extra money to be pampered to maintain a nice hair style.

Coming to Avant is a real treat. Melissa has been my stylist for many years and it is always nice to catch up with her while she foils and cuts my hair. The color is always vibrant and the cut exactly what I wanted. She does beautiful work and I plan to continue coming to Avant into the foreseeable future.

I had an appointment with a newer stylist today and was incredibly happy with the experience. Shannon was friendly, very professional and did a fantastic job with my hair. Luckily the haircut I wanted was something she wanted to practice so it was awesome! She was very thorough and helped me feel pampered. Every time I visit Avant I am impressed with the professionalism of all the staff. In particular with the pandemic and the adherence to the best/required practices. The salon is spotless and constantly being cleaned, swept, etc. In addition this time of the year includes the Avant sale on in stock products. The products are second to none and to get them at a discount is great. My stylist Deborah Manshak does an amazing job. Always on time and I've never had an issues with any of the services. Thank you Avant.

Love this place! The hairstylists are always super knowledgeable and will ask you about your lifestyle before cutting your hair. This has helped me grow my hair long, while keeping it healthy with regular deep conditions, and trendy with cute trims. Can’t recommend this place enough, it’s my happy place in the pandemic. Staff takes classes and attends courses to keep their skills current. My round trip drive to/from Avant Hair & Cosmetics is 3 hours, but it’s worth it.

I visited Mo again to get my hair to the color I want. I recently got it cut and it looks fabulous, and I tried to achieve a lighter blue at home, but my virgin roots weren’t having it. I went in to get my hair bleached and then dyed the light blue hues I want. It looks amazing and the process was easy peasy (for me). Worth the time and the money, let me tell you. :D Super happy! On the books for a next time to keep it fresh. Mo is awesome-looking forward to going back!

I commute 30 minutes to see Melissa Becker at Avant. She has been doing my hair for several years and always does a fantastic job. I even had her do my hair for my wedding. She always listens to what I want and gives suggestions on what she thinks would look best. I am always very happy with her service! I have seen Gretchen a couple of times as well when Melissa wasn't available and she did a fabulous job as well. I would also like to mention that the front desk staff are always very friendly when I come and go and also when I call to make appointments. They all keep me coming back!

Everyone is nice and welcoming so I'm always happy to be here. It's so easy to get here by bus or light rail. Afterwards, I like heading back through the skyway to see what's new.

Avant really deserves more attention. I was told about it in the early 90s by a stylist who was doing my hair for a photo shoot. He noted I had badly done highlights and recommended Avant as the place to go for master stylists/colorists. I started going to their old location off Nicollet Mall (remember the TVs in the floors?). Years later in their new Skyway location, it's still the master stylist salon. If you need a flattering style that is both hip and professional, this is the place for you. If you work in Downtown Minneapolis (as I used to do) it's so convenient. It's also a beautifully designed Aveda Concept Salon, which is icing on the cake. It's the only salon to which I'd be fully confident referring both my female friend and male friends. I always feel welcomed there even if I'm just stopping in to buy products.
