I went in to Get Dolled Up Beauty Lounge with absolutely no hope for my damaged hair, I recently had a baby and postpartum depression and hair loss was kicking my butt. I was ready to shave my head because my hair was so unhealthy and ugly. My stylist Abigail Rock (I noticed everyone would call her Abby) gave me a needed makeover she did my hair while listening to me giving up on myself because I thought I’d never have healthy hair again. SHE PROVED ME WRONG! I am absolutely amazed by her services, she told me a balayage and a haircut and some products would do the trick and it did! I got my confidence back!!! All thanks to her and this salon!! I will always come here for my hair services.

I can’t speak highly enough of this salon. Finding someone that specializes in blonding was exactly what I needed. For years I struggled with yellow and gold tones, paying way too much to never be satisfied. Nekoda transformed me to perfection in just 2 appointments. And guess what, it wasn’t cheaper and it took longer-and I have zero issue with that!! Stylist should not feel bad for charging for their time because it allows them to provide the results you are looking to obtain. Another thing that struck my attention is the closeness of the girls and how much the owner truly appreciates and mentors them. As a business manager, these things do not go unnoticed and more people should take note.

I told her my hair has a tendency to get brassy. I got gold and orange! It was awful! I came back and her only option was to put color over a $220 service. I was crying I felt so ugly! They didn’t offer to take pictures of my hair. To put on the website. Hmmm wonder why, I could have went to cost cutters. Don’t come here for color! Update: the owner, Geribeth called and offered to fix my hair. She asked about what happened and was concerned about my hair color. She did a amazing job fixing it. She is very talented with color. The picture on the bottom right is the final hair color.

I had a phenomenal experience with Abby Rock. Everything about my time there made it top tier! The salon, including her space, was very clean & organized. She had excellent customer service skills & was accommodating. What I truly enjoyed about my experience was the explanation of what Abby was doing & why. Abby was very knowledgeable! I got my haircut with Lizzie. I am so happy to have found an amazing hairstylist and haircutter like her. From the moment I walked in she was very kind and sweet. I got my hair shampooed cut in style. The price was really reasonable. While she was cutting my hair she was educating me on how to take care of my hair. It felt like I’ve known her for years. Definitely will be coming back and recommending this place to people. I showed her a picture on how I wanted my hair and she went above and beyond and met my expectations. She even did a better job than what I wanted! Lizzie spoke real highly of her coworkers and boss. All good vibe there! Will only come here from now on! :)

I saw Lizzie for some highlight/baby light refreshing and everything about the experience was great. I was greeted as I walked in and directed to wait in a super cute lobby area! I only waited a minute before Lizzie came and took me back. I absolutely love how my hair turned out and was blown away by the professionalism, yet fun vibes at this salon!

This was my first experience at Get Dolled Up. I had a color transformation done by Victoria. I am happy with the results and Victoria worked meticulously on my hair all day - I would give her 5 stars. However, the salon really overcharges. I agreed to a $60 pre coloring treatment, not knowing beforehand it was K18, whom I follow on Instagram. They themselves , and various other sources, state an upcharge of 15-30 is normal for this service, which is supposed to include a mask and spray. So $60 is pretty outrageous for this service, and it was spray only, no mask. In addition, I was stunned to see a credit card surcharge!!! Clients are generally using credit cards at salons, especially when spending $100s of dollars. There were other negative things I noticed during my time at the salon as well, but mainly I am not sure I would return due to the pricing/surcharge issue.

The absolute best salon I’ve stepped foot in. The atmosphere within the salon is impeccable, and the entire staff is so lovely! I had the pleasure to work with Rachel and oh my what a delight she is! She’s so incredibly talented and thoughtful. Always looking out for me making sure I’m comfortable, hydrated, but most importantly looking/feeling good. I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. The before and after pictures truly speak for themself.

My mother and daughter and I all set up an appointment they managed to fit us all in they were super friendly and we left all satisfied very down to earth and made you feel comfortable my 12 got a mix of colors on her ends n it was so pretty I come back for that alone .. and not super expensive like you might think. Def recommend for my hair ppl :) oh and now I'm a red head lol 😂

I love this place! I have pretty long hair and whenever I get trims I’m scared that a lot of the length will be lost, but the two stylists I’ve seen here have both been amazing and have really listened to what I want. I usually don’t do much more than a trim, but today I decided to opt for curtain bangs and long layers which I was a bit nervous about, but Victoria took it step by step and kept checking in with me to make sure we were on the same page the entire time. I’m so happy with the results! Highly recommend Victoria or Kayla to anyone looking for a good haircut :)

There's no question that the service here is exceptional! You can take a look through all of the pictures on their website/facebook/instagram. Geri Beth (the owner of Get Dolled Up) is an exceptional human being. Every time I go here I am excited because Geri Beth treats everyone as an equal and celebrates everyone for being exactly who they are. I never feel "out of place" when I come here. She will tell you what is in *your* best interest, not hers. There is no BS coming from GB, she will give it to you straight which I SO appreciate and it's honestly such a refreshing trait in the beauty/cosmetic industry. She loves to have fun! She is the polar opposite of boring. She does all sorts of different kinds of hair (mermaid, buzz cuts, balayage, color melt, full on platinum, you name it!) including textured hair which I think is super important to not exclusively know how to do only one hair type. She can also do a solid more tame hair trim or natural color too. She is exactly the kind of person and this is exactly the kind of small business I am more than happy to invest in and support. This is the best place by far I have had my hair done. I was given great advice on how to take care of my hair and what are the best products for my hair. They truly go through every step with you. Had a consultation with Rachel & decided to book after taking my daughter to get her hair colored & cut by Geri Beth. She had the best time chatting with Geri. My daughter is intellectually disabled & on the spectrum and Geri was patient & really made sure she was understanding & comfortable with her decision (with mom close by, thank you ;-) It was SELFIE's the rest of the day. It's been a little over a year since I started going to Christina to have my hair cut and colored. She is amazing! She's a great colorist and knows what will work for your face shape and body frame. Whenever I go, I feel like I'm hanging out with my girlfriends. A lot times everyone joins in with conversation and its a lot of fun. All the stylists have great personalities and the mood is fun and light, but they do a hell of a good job! It's small and intimate and you don't feel like a number! Seriously.... just try it, you won't be sorry!

I wrote a nasty review a few weeks ago, but I’m changing it because of some really great customer service. The first time, I made an appointment with Geri, but when I arrived, I was given another less experienced stylist, which did not sit well with me, so I left. Not more than a day later, Geri emailed me and apologized for the mix up, and asked if she could make it up to me. I agreed to start over, and made another appointment for today. I just came with the best cut in years, and it was complimentary, in both senses of the word! Also a warm, friendly staff and environment. Thanks, Geri.

THE best experience! I had Emily, and she was so careful and took her time with my balayage and cut. It turned out better than I thought it would. She was also super up front with pricing and honest about all of that, which I appreciated! Lastly, the products they use aren’t overpowering, which has been an issue for me with past salons and how I react to it. I had no health issues afterwards and that was a bonus! I can’t find one negative detail about this salon! I see Racheal and she has done it all for me. Taken me from an old crusty blonde to a beautiful bright rainbow, all the way back to natural colors, trims, haircuts, bangs, everything! She has outdone herself every time. The service is incredible. The vibe is unbeatable. All the girls here are so kind and welcoming. I went to get my hair done for a wedding a few weeks ago. A few days before the appointment I made sure to send a picture of my hair and a few pics of the hairstyle I wanted just to make sure it was something the stylist (Arri) could do and if it was possible with my thick hair. She assured me it was. Well, throughout the appt she seemed unsure of how to do it and kept asking how I wanted various sections to look. I didn't know how else to explain it other than to keep referring back to the pictures. Over an hour later I ended up with a very nice updo that looked nothing like the pictures I showed her. I understand that I have very thick hair and not every style is possible because of that. Had she told me the style I wanted wouldn't work with my hair I would've asked for something different. She was very nice and is probably very good at what she does otherwise, but I just wish she had been honest with me upfront. So while I got lots of compliments on my updo at the wedding, I was still bummed that I paid so much for a style that looked nothing like I was expecting.

Very Professional. Got a consult , will be getting my hair done and will try to remember to edit review. Update: I did end up getting my hair done. I tend to take a day or two to get used to a change in color , but I immediately liked my hair when I left the salon. The price is higher than I normally spend which causes apprehension. I'll have to see over time how impressed (or not ) I am with the service. Old color : grown out balayage , brassy blonde , roots were dark dishwater blonde. New color: balayage of a golden blonde , root shadow , with fiberplex

This was my first time going to a locally owned salon (as opposed to a chain place). It was not nearly as expensive as I expected and the service was fantastic. They were super respectful of social distancing, I was able to wear my mask the entire time. And it felt incredibly safe while still being amazingly normal. Nekoda cut my hair for me and was really helpful in finding a style that flattered me while still requiring a bare minimum of styling and product. My hair is thick, which can make it a lot of work but she was super patient with putting in enough layering to make it look nice. They also had a great balance between demonstrating product that can help you without pushing them on you. The general atmosphere was a little noisy, super friendly. Lots of laughter. It was a very female space, but not so much so that a man would be uncomfortable getting their hair done there though. My husband is planning to try them himself actually.

I love going here for my hair services and specifically work Rachel. She is so good with color, detail oriented and she always takes the time to educate me on hair since I am now learning and didn't really care before. I've gotten plenty of haircuts over the years and finally decided to get a balayage last month and love it! Can't wait until my next appointment. I'd also like to comment that they have a strict 24 hr cancellation policy, especially during the pandemic because hair stylist rely on our commitment so that they can get paid. They also have bills and houses to pay just like we do. When we cancel last minute that can be an opportunity for someone else to come in to fill that spot. Sometimes, I have to wait 2 weeks out for my services! I can't believe people are actually rating this business low because of that. I don't know if you guys realize but we are in a pandemic and there are business' closing down. Everyone is doing their best and making sure they aren't reaching their max, practicing social distance and making sure the place is clean for clients. We need to be more patient, responsible and respect others. Anyways, you won't be disappointed, get some self care done! :)

UPDATE: Geri Beth called me right away and got me in the next day (on her day off) to completely fix my hair. Looks great and I had a wonderful experience with her. She's a passionate business owner with unmatched talent. ❤❤❤ - Today I spent $100 for Get Dolled Up to take FIVE HOURS of the only Saturday I get off a month. The best part- I just came in for a touch up on my roots. I had the most beautiful rose gold color melt done in March by the owner. Super dimensional, looked killer in photos and lasted 8 months before I came back in today (only because my roots had grown out so much). The root shadow she did was perfection and I appreciated not having to come back for monthly touch ups! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for her. Today I had a bad feeling as soon as I sat down and should have followed my gut. I told the girl working with me (not the owner) that I didn't want anything changed, I just wanted my roots matched. No problem she said as she started to lighten large selections of my hair root to tip. I asked why and was told that we had to do that to have the color match. Fine. No problem; she's the expert right? FIRST TIME we dye I ended up with bright purple fuchsia hair that was way off from what I asked for/ matched what I had. I was told she left it on much too long and the color got too dark. The owner saw my face, knew I was upset and tried to save it. At this point I knew I was walking out with ALL of my hair a completely different color than what I walked in with. This girl didn't just get the color wrong but also somehow managed to find all my natural color that gave my hair depth and bleached it all to one flat shade. Heartbreaking. We clarify and dye again. SECOND TIME Color is better but I now have an all over salmon color with hardly any dimension and no root shadow. Today has been a total bummer. I'm missing my hair and am going to have to spend more time and money getting it fixed elsewhere. I have money but time is much more valuable to me. I wish she had been honest and said that what I needed was beyond her skills. I would have rescheduled and headed home.

I have gone to Nekoda both times I have been there (going in for a third time with her soon!) and she always does an amazing job. She has been so patient every time since it usually involves hours of blonding and every time she is finished I LOVE what she has done. She usually adds some personal touch (which I don’t mind personally because I never really know what I want); and anything she does or tweaks always turns out amazing. I have consulted many salons before for balayage and have always been told the same thing over and over, “it will be impossible to successfully lighten my black, repeatedly box colored, Asian hair.” I just thought I would never be able to have balayage and continued to rely on black box color to cover my grays. Well, over the weekend Nekoda perfectly nailed the impossible!!! I told her what I wanted and without hesitation, she expertly and with so much attention to detail, lightened my black hair waaaay beyond my expectations! I don’t have to worry about grays for a long time as she blended the grays together beautifully with my highlights. For the first time, I have the ash brown hair with blond highlights I have always wanted!! Nekoda is a super talented, professional, and kind spirited!! I really appreciated her taking the time to meet with me, explain the process and made me feel right at home. I can’t reccomend this girl enough! She was willing to work with me and my busy schedule, was upfront on prices, and really attentive. You won’t be sorry with her! Finding Get Dolled Up right here in Milwaukee is a true gem! I've been a client of both Get Dolled Up and Nailed it MKE for awhile now. I had never become a regular at any one nail salon because frankly, I was never so wowed by my results to do so. Thant's no longer the case. :) Get Dolled Up and Nailed It also took care of my entire bridal party on my wedding day, including making my 7 year old niece feel like a minor celebrity that day. (And by the way, the Bridal Suite upstairs is FANTASTIC.) All of the stylists there are so genuinely nice and helpful, but Will is the one I've been seeing and I adore him. Not only is he great at the technical side of his job, he does a great job of paying attention to details that make a particular cut or color work really well for you individually. He did this unbeliveably cool vintage style for my wedding, and everyone who sees the picture comments on how cool the Victory Rolls he did for my hair looked. And as for Nailed It MKE...Sona, the owner of the business, is probably the fist person I've ever had do my nails where I was so thrilled I was compelled to keep coming back. I mean, i drive 45 minutes each way to see her for my appointments, the woman is good at her thing. And as someone pretty picky about standards for hygiene in nail places, this place is super stringent on that, which is great to not have to worry that your super cute manicure is going to come back to bite you later. I've recommended Get Dolled Up and Nailed It to a lot of people because at the end of the day, everyone there seems to take a lot of pride in their work and it really shows.
