I’ve received multiple Tulsara facials and got my first ever back facial treatment here recently. Melanie is my go to. She does a great a job. Before she puts anything on your skin, she tells you exactly what it is and what it’s made up of, which I really appreciate. She truly cares about your experience, and is very sweet. The place is small and there is a salon upstairs from where the facial and massage rooms are, so occasionally you hear people walking around. Overall though, it’s peaceful.

The above review is actually from some years ago, but would like to leave a new review! My hair service with Hunter was pretty nice and I enjoyed the steam cap. My hair felt soft after and she was very gentle and neat. My only note for her would be to wash the hair a little more throughly but she did a fine job and shampooed me twice because I've got thick hair so I'll say that! Aissa gave me a fantastic massage! I'm a massage therapist myself so I appreciate good work! I'll be back!!!

Always a relaxing atmosphere, even when they are busy. From the massage chairs at the shampoo bowl, to the scalp massage during shampooing, hand & foot/leg massages for mani/pedis, it's just a great expierence all around. Staff is friendly & Caitlyn is my go to for all my hair care needs; hair color, cuts, etc. She will suggest/recommend product but not be pushy about it. I love that! Never disappointed when I leave!

I really wish I didn’t have to rate this place as only a 3 but unfortunately I received such bad customer service here multiple times. The service itself was fantastic and my nails looked great. The woman who did them was incredible but she should go to a different place. The staff messed up my appointment about 5 times and I didn’t get to do my nails until almost a month and a half after I made my initial appointment. This was because they kept rescheduling me after having poorly trained staff that kept incorrectly booking me. I would even be more understanding if they had just apologized and were at least sympathetic but the women I spoke to on the phone were really rude and seemed like they didn’t care that it was really inconveniencing me. I tried to be patient and waited a while to do this review so I wasn’t so upset about it and could be less biased but I still feel that they kind of messed up. In conclusion, the nail service is amazing but if you’re trying to get them done for a certain day or occasion, go somewhere a bit more reliable because you may not actually get the appointment in time.

I’ve been a regular client for 15 years. Nikki is very knowledgeable about color and my curly hair. They use Aveda and Bumble and Bumble products. I love the atmosphere and decor of the historical home in downtown location. They use all three levels although the upstairs is currently being renovated. Although I’ve moved 230 miles away, I still come back here every 6 weeks or so!

OMG I LOVE AARON!!! Seriously tho. I have been having a hard time looking for a good stylist for the past 7 years. I literally gave up on finding what I wanted as chalked it up to the areas that I’ve lived not having the skill or talent. Not being NYC or LA I figured I’d have to settle. I moved to WI a year ago and was having the same struggle. I have not found anything until….. I met AARON! What a talented stylist! The cut I was looking for, you don’t see every day. I’ve personally only seen it in magazines. So in the past, explaining what I wanted wasn’t going so well. I showed AARON a bunch of pictures of similar cuts that I liked and the look I was going for and he NAILED IT!!! I am over the moon that not only he met my expectations but exceeded it! (Idk which receptionist scheduled me but kudos to her for pairing me up with the best stylist around.) I can’t stop smiling bc I FINALLY found someone that speaks my language and KNOWS STYLE. I recommend Aaron to everyone. Especially, if you want a stylist that knows how to take years of your look, keep you looking trendy and beautiful. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

She was so professional and made me feel so comfortable with the whole process, seeing as she knew it was my first time. She was very quick and efficient making the process as painless as she could. The massage therapist was very professional and kind. I really enjoyed my appointment. The massage was very relaxing and relieved all my muscle tension. She was great at focusing on my most tense areas but also allocating the time of the massage to ensure all areas were massaged. The ambiance of the spa is very pretty and relaxing. I will definitely be returning! I also enjoyed my haircuts from Rylee and my wax from Megan!

I've been going to East Town Spa for about two years now, and I won't go anywhere else. Riley is an incredibly talented stylist and she is so kind and funny that I always look forward to my next appointment. The other stylists who have been around when I've been there make the atmosphere of the salon comfortable and welcoming. Prices are very reasonable. If you're on a budget, there are stylists on different pricing tiers based on experience. Booking appointments is easy to do over the phone or through the website with the "AI Receptionist". It's mobile friendly and intuitive to use. They always confirm before the appointment that you're still planning on coming in, and if the person you booked with is running late or ahead of schedule, they let you know that prior to your appointment as well. Their COVID-19 protocols are excellent. At my most recent appointment, my stylist and I were the only ones on the south end of the building and everyone was wearing masks. I had a disposable one, so we were able to color, cut, and style around it without any worries on my end; but the procedure for working around reusable masks is also effective.

This was my first Brazilian wax and glad I did it. Was a little apprehensive at first because im a big girl but let me tell you I was completely comfortable. This place is perfect! Nice location, easy parking and everyone was professional. I worked with Melanie and she was very friendly, helped me right away no waiting and I couldn’t be more satisfied.

This is the only place I let do Anything for me. Sabrina was my stylist today.i originally went in for a touch up on. Full head of highlights and a cut.Unfortunetly we didn't have time for the cut because I needed a color correction as well.It turned out amazing and her patientience was stellar .It took 2 hours to foil my hair and she was extremely precise!! You are in good hands here!

This place is beautiful! The staff was nice. I got a Brazilian wax, the girl, sorry forgot her name was ok, didn't talk very much didn't bother me too much tho, the wax job was... Ok, did get it on groupon, my usual gurl was not available, do have another one since it was a a deal for 2. So I will see if it will be a better job done on the next visit. But over all not a bad experience!!

I've gone to to East Town several times- One for brow threading, two for brow microblading, and once for a haircut, and I'm planning on booking more services soon. Each time I've been, I've had such wonderful experiences. I have been looking for years to find a salon where I feel comfortable with the staff, the services, and the prices and I've finally found it. You could probably find a salon/ spa with lower prices, but not by much, especially with their groupon deals. Overall, can't recommend highly enough :)

Great place for a pedicure. The ladies have a real stein to detail, are very knowledgeable and friendly. They have an amazing selection of nail polish with a lot of vegan/ cruelty free options. They lay out of the shop takes a little getting used to, but I liked being on a second floor with the decor and views out the window. I great experience all around.

I've had my hair cut by Rylie three times now and she has been wonderful! I've found it real hard in the past to find a stylist who understands curly hair, especially when I'm not kidding about curly. I've had too many haircuts for straight or wavy hair in the past!! Rylie is awesome and so long as I am in Milwaukee I plan on going here. Also, while a little clunky to understand at first, I super appreciate the text based online appointment booker. Super cute and super easy!!

Friendly but way over priced for the quality of work done. I paid a fraction of it today to get my nails done again somewhere else. My nails chipped within in 48 hours. On my left hand too which isn't even my dominant hand so it gets much less use which means less chance to damage my nails. That indicates to me sloppy work. Save a hell of a lot of money and go somewhere else. Oh and the atmosphere was lacking and employees dressed way too causal considering it's suppose to be a high end place.

I've been visiting Riley for normal hair cuts for several years now, and knew she would be the one to do my wedding updo and makeup! Everything was amazing, and the trial for both components was great and so helpful. I also saw Jamie for two pre-wedding facials, and Riley did my shellac manicure with the perfect wedding day shade. My bridesmaids also looked amazing with their hair and makeup done by the staff. I love East Town Spa and am happy to continue giving them my business!!

I recommend it to people but I wouldn't go back any time soon. A few years ago I was a regular customer, but after the last time I said never again. The last time it took 5 hours for my hair to get pressed and I was told after that I had to tell them that I had textured hair. I was only going to their salon to get my hair done, so you don't have a database that has a textured hair slot? Other African American women told me they went there, but I don't know if it's suitable for us when they only have one stylist who knows how to style black hair and she is always booked. Other than that, the environment was nice.

I've only gone to one other stylist in my life and, as someone with very fine hair, I was nervous having someone different working with it (we've all heard horror stories!). She was super friendly & did a great job matching the "low maintenance/natural" style that I described. Would definitely recommend & will be coming back!

Have visited ETS two times recently for services. On a service level, the establishment is very nice, kind, and professional. Saw Cody for a Swedish Massage and he was very attentive and focused on addressing concerns raised about soreness and pressure points. Additionally, received a men's haircut from Aaron; also kind, professional, and attentive. When addressing the establishment as an atmosphere, feel that ETS could use a bit modernization. The spa is situated in an old home, with hair cuts (at least mine) taking place in what I could describe as an old living room with a fireplace behind it, the chairs in this room felt cramped and not like the best location to be cutting hair space wise. Received massage, which was in Basement (sort of like a dungeon room), overall was a relaxing time, but the continually cycling of a dehumidifier made It challenging at times to relax fully and zone out when the whirring of dehumidifier cycled on and off. Having received these same 2 services (Men's Haircut/60mn Massage) at Knick Salon and Spa just a few blocks away previously, both locations charging relatively the same price, would likely 1st return to Knick for the ambiance and experience 1st. While service was great, a $75 massage should be in a peaceful inviting space, not so much in a basement with dehumidifiers running mid service.

Everyone was extremely nice, professional and accommodating. Chloe was my esthetician and I don’t recall the gentleman’s name that did my massage but he was awesome. I get my lashes done here by Jamie (who recently had a baby and was gone for a bit and I’m so glad she is back!!) While she was gone I had two other lash people and with them the lashes only lasted about a week. I hope Jamie never leaves because hers last about three weeks till I need a fill and she is sweet and professional.

I have never had a massage before so I was a little anxious going into my appointment with this spa. My fears were quickly allayed when I stepped into East Town Spa. The building itself is adorable-- a mix of bright, fun colors and a lot of old-school charm. The receptionist was very friendly and I was checked in right away. I filled out the standard new client paperwork and my massage therapist, Grace, got me from the waiting room just a moment or two after I'd turned in the forms. I had read reviews about the massage area so I knew that it would be in the basement of the building. Other reviewers have said the basement was musty and unsettling but I found it to be full of old-school charm and very cozy. I did not get a musty or gross sense being down there at all. Grace was absolutely wonderful! She made me feel very at-ease about the massage and got to work quickly. I always felt comfortable with the draping she did and she offered me both a hot towel for my neck as well as a heated massage table. The massage itself was lovely. I did not even realize how tight my jaw, back, and legs were until Grace got to work on them. I am sitting here writing this review about 15 minutes post-massage and I cannot believe how relaxed these areas of my body are. I feel so renewed! When the massage was done, Grace was kind enough to bring me some water and then let me know that with my Groupon, East Town Spa offers another massage for the same Groupon rate if I pre-book it. As you can guess, I jumped on that offer and have pre-paid for my massage. I cannot wait to return for another relaxing experience. I would recommend this place to anyone!

I went for lash extensions, and I had Erin. I did a full set two and a half weeks before my wedding, and a fill two days before. She did a fantastic job and I'm so happy I went early for the first appointment. It took my almost two weeks to get used to the lashes (I've never done this before!), so by the time of my wedding I was comfortable in them.

Morgan is Salon Pro with the vast knowledge of wonderful haircut on my difficult hair to cut which changed my 20 year style in a new and great change. Service is good, Riley did a great job on my nails. Only complaint is that there is clearly some cleaning needed in the building... The ceiling fans are absolutely DISGUSTING. During my pedicure I couldn't stop staring at this fan full of dirt and dust right above me.

Took my sister here for the mani/pedi on Groupon. It was her first experience and she is in her 40's. We got stuck in horrible traffic and arrived 30 minutes late(at least that). I called them the minute I knew we were not going anywhere on the highway. This was an important day and we couldn't reschedule because this was for her trip she was taking a couple days later. They were very understanding and, after a couple calls, worked it out with us. We were only able to do one each of the Groupon because of time restraints at the salon. I was simply happy that they were still able to accommodate us. The marked down on our accounts that we were still due for the one we did not have done. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. Especially Sami. What could of been a very bad experience or no experience for my sister turned into a great experience. She is even looking at having other things done there and I may go back and have my hair done.

My old stylist left the salon and recommended Sami. I needed to have something done to my hair for my wedding that was 10 days away, but wasn't sure what. I gave her some vague ideas and she knew exactly what to do!! I LOVED my hair when she was finished. Even the lady who did my hair at my destination wedding commented on the wonderful job Sami had done. Unfortunately it's pretty pricey here, so I will probably only come a couple times/year. But, you get what you pay for and it's worth it!

My first haircut with Sammy at East Town. I have very fine hair and any mistake is noticeable, but Sammy is a professional and did a super job. Not many people are good at cutting hair, but Sammy definitely has that talent. The building is an amazing old Victorian and everyone there was very pleasant.

I visited East Town Spa for a massage. I had purchased a groupon for the service. It wasn’t the best massage I’ve ever had. The hot towels were a nice touch and I loved the treatment room I was in. I was surprised when I left to see they were rated one of the top spas in Milwaukee. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t award winning either. It seemed as though the therapist just went through a robotic routine with no emphasis on the areas I mentioned were bothering me. I think next time I’ll skip the deal and go to The Knick, where I usually go.

I have been going to East Town Spa for the past year or so for haircuts. After moving to Milwaukee, I bounced around from salon to salon, using Groupons to try to find a place a liked. I first visited East Town using a Groupon, and have since stayed. Greyson has always done a very nice job with my hair, which is thick and naturally curly. The service is good, the atmosphere is nice, and the prices are solid, especially in the city. I will continue to go to East Town, as I appreciate having a reliable and affordable place to get a haircut.

My sister and I try to do a spa day each year and this year it was @ East Town Spa. We found a great deal on Groupon (which is a great way to try new places). We enjoyed a facial, massage and pedicure. Everyone was so nice and while our services were slated for just under 2 hours, we were there much longer. We weren't rushed through and really got to relax. For two mommys that aren't able to get much pampering, we were very happy with our experience. Thanks gang!

I had a blast that day. My boyfriend booked this mani-pedi at this place and it’s so great. The staffs are very nice and accommodating. I didn’t wait that long. The lady who did my nails are amazing! Shout out to Sasha ! She’s the best. I’ve never had someone do my nails like she did, very gentle to my hands and feet. Unlike other places they grip your hands and feet that a bit hard and tight, Sasha doesn’t do those. She’s very friendly and loves the girls talk, it makes you feel comfortable and relax. I sure will bring my sister in here and my boyfriend for a spa treatments or mani pedi too. I totally recommended the place and must try the other services.

The massage rooms are cozy and interesting. If you are looking for advice on aches/pains or skin, they also seem to know what they're talking about.

Why 4 stars? Parking! The East Town Spa is a well-preserved little hidden gem in the heart of Milwaukee city. Set in a quaint pastel pink colored historic building (my masseur Chloe said that it had served as one of Milwaukee's Governor's homes a century or so ago), the Spa sits on East Wells Street that overlooks the lake. It contains architectural treasures such as carved banisters and historic woodwork. If you are looking for some very modern, avant-garde ambience, this is not the place, although it is well equipped with sufficient modern tools for the treatments, that offer comfort and efficiency. The East Town Spa speaks of curious histories, the architectural beauty of the early 1900s, and very turn of the century fixtures. It could have been a very successful bed and breakfast, in another avatar! The service is excellent! The stylists and masseurs are polite, calm, and they are skilled at their work. They use top spa products made by Aveda, and by several other brands. The price for their services is very reasonable if one is using a Groupon. I didn't make a note of the length of my services so I can't comment on strict timelines. But...I can say that I was satisfied with my experience, and that my masseur Chloe is skilled and knowledgeable about Ayurveda. Watch out during the deep winter months when snow has piled up on the sidewalks. Parking on the opposite side of the Spa could be a challenge. Always arrive with plenty of quarters at hand for the meter!

Patrick here is a phenomenal masseure, I booked a 60 minute Swedish Massage though Groupon and every part of my experience was top notch. When booking, the client service rep at the time (Raven, I belive) was prompt, highly professional, and very helpful. She informed me that you can in fact reschedule even if you book with a groupon code, you just must do so the before the service. I see no difference in this policy from any other service provider, it’s similar to keeping a card on file, and having short notice cancellation terms. I couldn’t say enough great things about Patrick! He really knows how to read clients, and truly listens to body feedback and clientele requests. Great experience, highly recommended.

This is THE spot to go get a massage in Milwaukee. It's located in the basement of the pink house, with redone vintage-y rooms. Both massages I've gotten here have been exceptional. Leaving this for purely feedback reasons, in hopes of shedding light on the impact providing poor customer service, unashamedly, can have on your ability to grow clientele. I’m looking for a full service salon in the area and have been checking Groupon to get a del on initial trial service. But I also check reviews in advance. I had two Groupons in my cart, one for myself for full cut and color and one for cut and style for my daughter, when I came to look at reviews. The abject lack of courtesy, genuine empathy and ownership in the responses to reviews from customers who’ve had a poor experience, made my decision for me. I’m not investing any amount of money into a business that can’t take ownership of their missteps.
