This was my first time getting my hair cut at a salon, and I can say I thoroughly enjoyed my experience! I was a bit nervous at first, but Grace talked me through the entire process and steadily put me at ease. I came in with an idea in mind, and she was able to produce a result that I am very happy with! She taught me a lot of things about hair care that I will remember! 5-stars. Greeted at the door with complimentary beverage and breath mints. Mary Beth provided the hair cut with beard trim. She asked about any pain points, encouraged feedback throughout, referenced notes from our previous sessions, and takes pride in every cut. I especially appreciate the scalp wash, massage, hot face towel for the beard, beard balm, and shoulder massage. How could I not tip after that lol. Felt amazing made me want to just book a massage only. I look forward to it every time. I rebook before leaving for about every 3-4 weeks. They send text/email appointment reminders and the receptionist is very efficient.

This was my first experience with Gentlemen's Cut. My stylist, Amber, took her time to ensure she did a quality cut. She was professional, yet friendly. Nice cut and then came the shampoo. Oh, my goodness. Amber squeezed my head like a melon, and it felt wonderful. Got a hot towel around my face as she did my head. Thought to myself, now that was great, but it wasn't over. Nope, got a shoulder massage when we got back to the chair. I think I'm going to do a massage next time as well. Great experience and the best hair cut I've ever had. I will definitely see them again. Went back again and got a cut and the head massage. Even my wife liked my hair (she's pretty picky). The head massage was nice but wasn't long enough (once again). Don't think I'll do the head massage again, but will definitely be back for a cut.

Everyone is super nice, professional, friendly, etc. I love the place. Except for one thing: I’ve never left with a BAD haircut. i’ve just never left with the haircut I ASKED for. Instead, i feel i’m given the haircut that the barber envisions for me. Several times i’ve specifically asked for a low fade, and was instead given a medium/high. Regardless of how many references i show or how detailed i am with what i want, it never quite is. At the end of the day, hair grows back so i don’t lose sleep over it. Maybe its just my experience and experiences vary. I still recommend this place, you won’t leave with a bad cut.

I entirely trusted her judgment (Again, I just don't really care about haircuts), but she still explained what she was going to do at every step before executing. ..and it turned out really, really well. Edit: The customer service after my post was on point and definitely made up as best as they could. Original: Came in for a haircut on lunch. Went because I saw the good reviews. The staff was very nice, but the cut was very bad. Uneven fade that ends in awkward spots. Probably the worst fade I have ever gotten. I have tried to cut my own hair before, so that's saying something. I wish I had looked closer and noticed how bad it was before I got back to work. It wasn't that enough time was not taken, because the other stylists went through 3 clients a piece before mine was finished. Stylist also could not figure out how to change the channel, so I was stuck watching preschooler cartoons. I was told that the stylist I had was new. More training should have been done before charging $25 for an express cut. Unfortunately, I was the test dummy.

Phenomenal for the price. The "professional" and "executive" packages both cost me 2x as much at a competitor: 18/8. You can tell the stylists are top notch and incredibly skilled in their craft: MEN'S hair. Dani manages a great team and she's my preferred stylist as well. Book in advance or walk in. I love that they have different stylists at different Aveda certification levels, so that if you don't want to pay as much you can go to a lower certified stylist or if you want the best, you can pay for it and you have choices. Truly the best men's salon I've been to in Louisville, since moving here and going to a few while living in Dallas and Denver. In Louisville though, Gentlemen's Cut is my choice over 18 | 8 , the only other men's only salon offering similar services, and don't even compare to the "big league cuts" "sports clips", etc or any of the other "budget" chains like those--nowhere near the talent and you're not paying much more here but GETTING SO much more! Updated 12/8/22: Still 5+ stars and the best Louisville Metro has to offer for men's styling services. Still love Dani, but so does everyone else, she's booking out quite far, she suggested I start with another Craftsman-level Aveda stylist: Peyton; and she's been AMAZING! Difficult hair texture here, their handoff was perfect, love Peyton for routine cut and style and nose waxing and brow maintenance. So unbelievably affordable for the value and quality of craftsmanship at Gentlemen's Cut English Station!

My husband said they were under staffed that day & his services felt a little rushed. He' s in the restaurant business & only gets 1 day off a week so our boys pitched in together & bought him a nice package, including the foot treatment. He mentions his tired feet a lot. He said it was like having his feet wrapped in stuff & that was about it. He said the massage part was about 30 sec & felt like if I were to do it, not professional. He told the boys it was amazing & thank you but I'm quite disappointed. His hair looks great though.

This was our first time going here for my 4yo boy. Great experience! Mari was efficient, nice and I really like how she cut my son’s hair. There are TVs at each chair and she put it on Disney channel for him which was thoughtful and worked well at keeping him still and distracted. My husband also gets his monthly haircut here (with Christina) and he always comes home looking dapper! Prices are very reasonable and comparable to other barber shops in the area. It was super clean inside and all of the employees I saw were wearing masks 👍 Overall an excellent experience and we will definitely be back!

If you’re looking for a quality haircut in a relaxing and upscale environment, look no further! I started going to Gentlemen’s Cut at the Springhurst location around 10 years ago. I have since followed my favorite stylist Dani to the newer English Villa location. Dani’s craftsmanship is exceptional; it’s evident that she takes pride in her work, and she displays an uncommon mastery. Don’t be afraid to book with someone else if she’s unavailable though! Make sure you get the shampoo, scalp massage, and neck massage for the full experience. The stylists are sought after, so it’s wise to book appointments in advance.

It had been 3&1/2 months since I last had my haircut and I decided to return to Gentlemen’s Cut. I had been there a couple of times last year and though the stylist I had seen is no longer with them, I decided to try them again and booked with Dani. I appreciated that they are taking sensible precautions re Covid. Dani was welcoming and attentive from the first moment. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted, but was open to trying something different. She listened closely and offered some suggestions, which were all on point. In fact, she actually finished my sentences once or twice, which made it clear that she was committed to giving me a look that I was comfortable with. Most importantly, besides having a pleasant conversation, I received an expert haircut. It’s a bit of a drive, as I live closer to downtown, but well worth it and I will be back.

I love Gentlemen's Cut. I recently started going to this location for my monthly 90 minutes massages w/Alyssa. I'd been going to Springhurst for them because she truly is THE BEST. When she started doing Wednesdays at English Villa it only made sense to start going there and saving myself about 15 minutes worth of driving. The décor at this location is like the Springhurst location, kind of a modern laid-back, barnwood motif. The lobby at this location is a bit smaller but it's also a bit cozier. When you walk in you're greeted by a friendly staff member who checks you in and asks if you'd like something to drink. Since going to this location I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes before the ever-cheerful, awesome Alyssa comes out to get me. To get to the massage room you have to walk through the hair styling area, which is astoundingly brightly lit. There are stations where I think up to 8 stylists are working away, helping men (they don't do women's styling) look their best. The massage room at this location is noticeably larger than the one at Springhurst, which is nice for the massage therapist. It is, however, basically c.o.l.d. every time I've been in there. Of course you're under a sheet and the massage bed is heated, but it's flippin' cold in there. The massage room has music for relaxing. It's always nice to have that because it helps relax you...but the music in the room is ... weird. Sometimes it's ethereal and meditative, sometimes it sounds kind of Oriental, and sometimes it's lame piano versions of contemporary hit songs. Roll the dice. I should add that the room isn't very soundproof, so you'll hear, at any given moment: The flushing of the toilet (the massage room shares a wall with the restroom), the music being played outside the massage room, or the conversations taking place in the styling area. Alyssa is AMAZING. I'm nearly always guaranteed to fall asleep. She's excellent at what she does, loosening my shoulder muscles/knots and generally helping the stress go away, if only for 90 minutes. She's also very funny and great at conversation. After my all-too-short 90 minute massage it's time to wake up and face reality. That includes leaving the comfortably dark massage room and going into the light. The first step in that is the hallways...which is freaking bright. Then through the styling area, which is even brighter and eye-squintier. and then. AND THEN you get to the lobby (while shading your eyes with your hands) where it is not only even brightier, but also has the sun reflecting off the windshields into your face. You are the, quite literally, blinded by the light. Fortunately checking out is done facing away from the Wall of Reflected Light. I always book my appointments two months out, so after paying and setting my appointments I'm out the door I've been going to Gentlemen's Cut for over 5 years for my massages, and 4 of them have been with Alyssa. She is THE SHIZNAT, and as long as she's there she'll be the one I come to. And you should, too. Thanks for calling, and have nice day.

My hair was cut by Ms. Dio. Super friendly, didn't bore with excessive small talk, and cut my hair well. I've got black complected hair that's pretty thick and curly. Asked for a fade on the sides and back, and that's what I got. Looks great, super happy with it. She also trimmed my dead ends. The whole cut lasted about 30 minutes or so, not including the 5ish minutes I sat in the lobby. Overall a very positive experience.

An experience with a company always starts the second you walk in the door (in 2020 you call) and the ladies at the front desk never fall short of providing the best customer experience from that moment you walk in until you leave. Previously I moved from a hair salon that messed my hair up so bad but Chelsea (At the time) came to the rescue and was able to manage my hair and get exactly what i was looking for in the first try. This is by far the best barber shop I have ever been too. I have what I call "devil horns" on the back on my head and have accepted the fact that they will always be there since no barber has ever been able to get rid of them. I came here by searching for any available barber shops that I could schedule at with COVID-19 going around and they had three spots left for when I needed my haircut. Scheduling was super easy to do and very straight forward. I got in there just hoping to get a decent haircut and was blown away. Their service is awesome, and they got rid of my devil horns in the back (which again has never happened). I already scheduled for the next visit because of how well they did. It's a bit pricy compared to what you'd find at Great Clips or whatnot, but the price is worth it. Dani did my hair.
