I got a hair cut and express keratin treatment with Megan and it was AWESOME. Megan really took her time to make my haircut perfect. She listened to what I wanted, was attentive, and detailed! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she made me look EXACTLY like that hair cut! I went from long hair to a short bob.If you're looking for a bob and want clean lines and attention to detail I highly recommend seeing Megan! I felt really safe, heard, and beautiful in her chair and will be going back to see Megan when I need a trim!

I have been going to Indigo for YEARS. This is by far the best salon I've ever been to. The prices for general cuts are very reasonable (I usually pay $40-50 for "maintenance" cuts). They also sport a beautiful space that is open and airy with a beautiful view of Lake Champlain. FYI, my personal stylist is Bonnie, and I highly recommend her and the salon in general.

Their product recommendations are working well. I appreciated their knowledge and help with selecting products for a new hair care routine. The view of the lake is relaxing and it was a pleasant experience. I appreciated that they encouraged sample sizes first before purchasing large volumes. I will definitely go back for future hair care.

I started going to Indigo this past summer after bouncing around a few different salons for years. After one haircut there, I was sold. They do an absolutely phenomenal job, and I have always been SUPER picky about hairstylists. Brittany O is my go to person and I adore her. She always makes my hair look amazing and seems to know exactly what I want, even if I explain it poorly. She also always has me laughing up a storm every time... Due to scheduling issues, I've also had work done by Marissa and Sara P and both did an excellent job as well. Is the price slightly expensive? Compared to O'Brien's or the cheapest places out there, I suppose. Honestly, I think that it is a deal for the level of service that I receive. As long as I live in Burlington, I will be going here.

I have seen a few different stylists at Indigo just because of my own schedule and last minute stuff, etc... BUT I have never had such wonderful styling experience no matter whose chair I am sitting in. I couldn't be happier with my most recent cut with Shelby. I walked in and always smiles. This last time, it had started pouring during my appointment (typical Vermont weather) and almost everyone offered some way to help me get to my car without my hair getting ruined. SO many good people and great energy. Thank you!! took me 30 years to find a salon that I could always count on and I couldn't be happier! Thank you!!

It's difficult finding a hairstylist in Vermont, especially one that has availability and knowledge of curly hair texture. Called Indigo in desperation and was able to book an appointment with Hannah L within 4 days of my phone call. Check in was easy and safe, the salon itself was clean with plenty of social distancing space. Happy with the way my haircut turned out and will be returning in the future!

I don't get my hair cut very often, but I love coming to Indigo! It is such a treat for me! I am always welcomed with a warm greeting, and I never have to wait to be taken back by my stylist (who always greets me personally in the waiting area). The attention given by the staff, the way the shop is organized, and the final result of a haircut that looks just as good 3 months later as the day you got it make for a great all-around experience.

This was my first experience at Indigo and I'm very excited to go back! Rose was bright and cheerful while also maintaining a calming demeanor that was impossible to not relax around. She gave me an amazing head massage while shampooing and kept the conversation light so I could drift in and out if I wanted to. She listened to my wants for my desired style and executed it perfectly, as well as explained the product she used and why she was using it, without making me feel pressured to buy it (though I couldn't help walking out without the magic 'wet hair hairspray' she used!). The entire salon was open and energetic without being in your face about their atmosphere. In my experience in Burlington the past 10+ years, this is the best salon in town. My experience at Indigo was exceptional! The salon's atmosphere was warm and beautiful, the front desk staff were friendly, and best of all, my hairdresser, Stephen, was AWESOME! James is exceptional. He is a true artist who after decades of experience is always looking to further his expertise. James is the epitome of a professional. I travel 5 hours round trip and I always leave Indigo happy with my service. James listens to my needs and provides thoughtful feedback whenever I have questions on products or maintenance. When I am uncertain, James provides suggestions on what techniques or cuts are most complimentary to my features. I can’t speak highly enough about the care and service James provides. In terms of the salon, their customer service is excellent. You are always greeted with a smile. The salon is spacious, clean, and thoughtfully arranged. Through COVID, staff provided excellent communication with salon practices and continues to do so. As someone traveling from NY their thorough communication allowed me to schedule appointments while complying with NYS and VT guidelines. Overall Indigo is a top-tier salon. I am thankful to be a client of James.

I had heard a lot of good things about Indigo but this was my first time. Everything went so smoothly, from my appointment to check out. Sonja was especially amazing. She gave me one of the best styles I've ever had, and she really listened to all of my hair "issues" before doing anything. I especially appreciated how much time she took, and how sweet and professional she was to this first-timer! I have long, curly hair and many hairdressers do not know how to handle it. Best place for dye jobs, always spot on with color choices and will help be realistic about what is possible without causing hair damage. Cuts are also wonderful, but the dye section of this salon is really the largest selling point. Recently went from medium brown to peach/orange, love the color and the cut!

We love Indigo! Absolutely the best place to go in the Burlington area (to be fair the only other place I've gone is supercuts). From the minute you walk in the staff are super friendly and accommodating, the waiting room is very comfy (plus coffee and tea!). All the stylists are super friendly and knowledgeable about hair and are GREAT at giving you suggestions. For instance, once I went in and explained I felt bored with my current hair but didnt want to do anything drastic and they made a few suggestions based on my hair type and texture and thickness and then voila! I left feeling like a whole new person and loving my hair. And that was just with a level 1 stylist. I also love that they offer free bang trims, it takes me like three minutes to do at home but since it's free why not have a professional do it? Definitely make sure you book an appointment ahead of time (yes, even for the free bang trims) as they are super busy but I recommend this place to everyone!

Indigo was the perfect fit for us when we were looking for stylists for our wedding day hair & make-up! Sarah was exceptional in coordinating our services, adjusting schedules as needed, and quick with communication. It was amazing having a stylist assigned to each bridesmaid, it allowed for such an easy morning getting ready and we were on time getting out of the salon. Each stylist was receptive to the bridesmaids requests, my bridal trial was perfect and the stylist was great working with my think/curly hair and she replicated it on the day of the wedding. Highly recommend Indigo for both your go to hair salon (I had my curly hair cut here for 3+ years before we moved) and for any special event!

If I wanted to share personal information I did on my own without her having a prying manner. So refreshing! She did not persuade me to purchase products but merely suggested. I can see why Indigo keeps winning Daysies: Natalie gave me the best haircut of my life! After a few bad experiences, I had gotten into a hair rut with my long, layered hair. When I woke up today and decided I wanted a big change, I called Indigo and got an appointment only a few hours later! I was nervous about cutting my long hair shorter than I ever had, but Natalie really took her time to get to know my hair and do things right. I appreciated her product recommendations and the time she took to not only give me the perfect cut for my hair, but to get to know me as a person as well. I have been SEARCHING for YEARS for a salon that not only cuts, colors and styles but also is willing to teach you the correct way to care for your hair. And i FINALLY found it! This place, yes, is expensive. But it really is worth the money and time! Everyone is so helpful and so friendly. You can tell they really love their job. The space is so much bigger then it looks and is extremely clean and orderly. Shelby took my life into account when teaching me how to use products and even when doing the cut i wanted she asked questions about how my hair is normally and how to fix that (frizz, parts not wanting to go any other way, ect). They also sell all products they use so you can do the same at home. I suggest their WOW for curl! Take a chance on this place, you wont be disappointed!

I have kind of fine, curly/wavy hair and Mindy is my savior. She is very good at working with the shape of your hair so it looks good however you style it, and she is lovely to chat with. The front desk is always friendly when I call, and I have never had trouble getting an appointment. The prices are a little spendy compared to other salons, but you get what you pay for and I wear my hair every day! If you're going for the first time, make sure you tell the receptionist what your hair is like. I got matched with Mindy on this basis and I really couldn't be happier.

I’m debating going back. I had Stephen style my hair and he is lovely. First I would like to say the reason I choose Indigo is because I think they do dye processing in another room so if you’re sensitive to chemicals then this is one of the only salons you can actually go to that I am aware of. If I had not been vocal about exactly what I wanted, I would have walked out with a 100.00 glorified trim. Stephen is very talented but needed a lot of direction from the client to make it happen for you. He had a hard time reading my style and attitude. Underestimated the volume of my hair. Put foam in my hair before asking, too. Which I ended up reacting to but did not trigger a migraine but still no chemical exposure is why I chose this expensive salon. I bet once he get to knows a client, you’ll go to him for life. And the end of the day, I got a well executed bob with some side bangs. However I wanted something edgy to reflect my style. I looked more like 40 year old preppy woman. Which is the anti thesis of me. Although it is a very expensive looking haircut which is always better than cheap looking so at the end of the day, I worked with it. I may just hire someone to come to my house to cut my hair because it’s time for another cut.

Love Sarah H. and Bonnie! Sarah always does fantastic work with my hair. She really listens to what I want while also making suggestions that will suit me specifically. Bonnie was so careful with tinting my brows.. red hair can make this tricky but the color is perfect! I would like to add that although the stylists have all been super wonderful, the front desk employees are ridiculous! Nearly everytime I call or arrive at the salon the front desk is usually curt, rude, heard complaining and I feel as though they just couldn't be bothered with offering an ounce of pleasant customer service. I'd rather not have to sweet talk you when I'm making an appointment and I definitely don't call just to hear you complain about how much you hate computers.

I absolutely love going to Indigo! Sonja is the best with my hair. When I moved back to Vermont it took a long time to find a stylist who could do short hair styles really well. Once I find Sonja, I never went to another stylist. She doesn't over style my hair to look like a Texas soccer mom, I don't look like the female version of Justin Beiber, and she's always on point when executing the style the looks best for you.

I love Mindy. I've been going to see her for years. She is professional and sweet, and always gives a great haircut. Indigo, as a salon carries great products and is a comfortable atmosphere. My only complaint about this salon is that you cannot tip the stylist on your card. So if you are like me and rarely carry cash, this is a pretty big inconvenience. Every time I get my hair done and forget to preemptively go to an ATM or grab a blank check (which isn't uncommon given how busy life can be), it means I have to go back some time that week to tip her. Indigo, please figure out a system to let us tip our stylists on a card when we pay at the register!

Sarah H is the BEST!! I have hair that's difficult to cut: it's very wavy and seems impossible. Many hair stylists do not know how to cut it. Sarah, however, gets it right EVERY time. She always asks what I'd like and listens to what I'm looking for. On top of all that, she's always a bundle of fun and makes me laugh! I LOVE having her as my hair stylist.

Got amazing and long lasting pink hair (started with medium dark auburn, done in two sessions in one day) done here by kelsey (sp?) who has left now unfortunately. Knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff and great products! The pink lasted over three months and by the third month I accidentally kept saying it was dyed a little over a month ago because it was still so bright. Pricey, I think it was nearly $300, but so worth it!

I moved back to Burlington from NYC and for a while I was commuting to New York for all things beauty. It took a lot of switching around but I found a wonderful stylist here at Indigo. The front desk is also very helpful and friendly. The staff takes great care of you and makes sure to offer you tea or another beverage. You also get a killer view of the lake in this beautiful historic building on the waterfront. All in all a great salon experience I am a loyal patron and I don't planning on going anywhere else.

This is the only place I will get my hair cut. I happened across Shelby by chance, in desperate need of a trim. I have curly hair and trust issues because of it, I have had some really bad haircuts. Shelby not only knew exactly what to do with my hair, but taught me how to style it without a ton of product. I get compliments all the time now! I love this beautiful salon filled with smiling, talented people. Gorgeous view of the lake out the huge wall of windows and smartly placed mirrors, no waiting and free parking in garage below the building. Great please. I'm so happy that I randomly selected Rosie G. She's lovely and I always feel refreshed when I leave. (I'm moving out of state and wish I could take this salon with me!)

This was my first time at Indigo.Kelsey was so professional AND fun! I've had long hair my whole life thus far and I was going back and forth on the idea of getting it cut short. She was able to make me feel relaxed and made sure what she was doing was okay during the whole process. I always love my experience at Indigo. I have thick and wavy brown hair and am very tender headed. Lindsey, who specializes in blondes but does wonders with my reddish/brown, always makes me feel comfortable and cuts/styles my hair better than anyone I have found in the many places I have lived in the US. They use high quality hair care products Pureology (all natural ingredients and I have switched completely!!) and Bumble and Bumble (also good stuff!). I get a Demi glaze every 4-6 months and it never fades or "grows" out. I would suggest Indigo to anyone for their hair needs!

A+ waterfont views are a great backdrop for pampering. Shelby does a great blow out, and is very fun to talk too while getting your hair done. Love the bumble & bumble products and they continually send their stylists for training classes in the city so you get new ideas and the latest techniques.

The Salon was very organized and clean that I liked and the floors in the first room to go and check in were absolutly amazing and again my hair came out so great and so pretty I deffienelty recommend going to Brittany O'dell at that hair salon. I also like how there isn't a awkward moment between her and I while she's doing my hair she keeps the conversation going. She's a great people person

I have gone to see Megan Von Der Esch 2x, and she is EXCELLENT! Out of all the hair stylers I've had in my lifetime, she is the 2nd BEST of them all! She costs around $35-40 (slightly high - I would think that $30 would be more reasonable), BUT you get "in-between" trims, so it's worth it! ++++ She is a SCORPIO and her natural Scorpio's INTENSITY and attention to DETAIL make her exceptional!
