Like so many other reviews have said, Morgan is the best! She makes me feel comfortable and at ease. The session seems to fly by and we're laughing like we've known each other for years. Great service, fair price, great products to choose from in-store. I have very sensitive skin and have never had any problems here. Go check them out! And someone give Morgan a raise! ;)

Morgan helped me go from my shaved off eyebrow phase to having super sexy brows! She is so fun to talk to even in my short eyebrow windows. The staff that works the front are also all so sweet. Highly recommend!

I’ve been coming here for a few years. The service is awesome- the front desk is always super friendly. It’s very clean and always smells nice. The pricing is great- affordable from a waxing perspective. Every cerologist I’ve had at this location is incredibly knowledgeable and provides solutions to irritated areas/ingrowns/etc. They don’t push products or services. Honestly the best Brazilian I’ve had, (no single hair left behind!) and I’ve been to several different studios in the Seattle area. I’d highly recommend! I buy a package which is also cost saving.

Waxing the City Ballard is, by far, my best waxing experience. Go see Emily for an unmatched waxing experience. Brazilian full waxing, in my opinion, is one of the more feared options for hair removal, but I have no fear now. I don’t dread the process at all! She makes it virtually painless with swift and precise work, all while making you feel right at home and relaxed. The results always exceed my expectations. Previously, I never really knew or experienced the value of having continuity with one cerologist, and I never really cared. But Emily has changed the game for me and I can’t go back now! She rocks! Alyssa was at front desk and she is such a gem. The two of them will brighten your day! Go see them!

Oh my goodness! I came in from out of town and was feeling very uncomfortable. Not only did Deborah and the staff make me feel welcome and amazing. They also do excellent work. The vibe in the business was amazing upbeat and welcoming I would never get waxed anywhere else!!

So I moved here all the way from across the country and was having terrible luck with literally everything lol. I decided to try to have some normalcy in my life so I decided to go get waxed and get my eyebrows done. LET ME TELL YOU... I was the last client of the day, the women that were there were so incredibly sweet. Didn't rush me at all... in fact they struck up conversation with me and put me in such a good mood. I was crying from happiness in side. That's not the only thing!!!! I was paired with a lovely woman who explained everything we would be doing, and what the services cover, and was super professional. Not only was she so professional, she was so thorough and really cared about my experience. We talked and laughed, and it was honestly so comfortable there. The wax...... LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE WAX.... so they use hardwax and usually that stuff is pretty pinchy and painful... NOPE it felt so soft and didn't irritate my skin at all (down there and on my face!) so bumps, no redness, no swelling... the quality of their products that they use is A1. So i guess what I'm trying to say is that I have definitely found such a great wax place, and they really set the bar up high.

I've been coming to this location for my waxing needs for the better part of a year now and I absolutely love it. When I first looked into this place, my first thought was "Wow that's expensive!" But they have this awesome deal for 50% off a new client's first service so I gave it a shot. I immediately understood why they charge what they do. Everything from the ambiance to the front desk staff to the technicians to the end results are top of the line. I've gone to many different waxing studios (this is the only Waxing the City location I've been to, though) and none of them hold a candle to this place. I'm pretty nosey so I asked my first technician what sets this place apart from other waxing businesses. The most interesting thing she told me was about their custom wax blends: every wax they used is specially designed for them and used only by them. I have definitely found that I get way fewer ingrown hairs than any other place I've been waxed. After my first technician moved out of state, I started seeing Elena, who I still see for all of my services. She's AWESOME. Due to her skill and efficiency (and partially to my hair type) she's usually able to complete my services a bit more quickly than the amount of time I'm actually booked for. But I NEVER feel like she rushes me or cuts corners: Elena always does an amazing job and I'm always so grateful for her expertise. She's also hilarious and I love talking to her. The front desk staff is fabulous too. They all are well-informed on what services the studio provides, they're very polite/professional, and they all actually care about giving you a positive experience. I am a member of the various clubs/subscriptions to get a discount on my services (so worth it). Recently I looked at my bank statement and thought I'd been double-charged. I took the statement in with me to my appointment and explained my concerns to the gal at the desk. I admitted that I may have misunderstood the timing for when my card is charged for the club, and if so that's fine. Rather than being snotty or shutting me down, she actually researched it and wrote me an itemized breakdown while I had my services with Elena. They had charged me correctly and I had made the mistake/misunderstood. At no point was anyone rude or nasty, and I've definitely been to other businesses with staff that would not have reacted that way! Long story short: Five star staff. Beautiful, clean, comfortable studio. They take sanitation/cleanliness seriously. Not the cheapest in the city, but you get what you pay for! Well worth it! Even after our lease is up and we move out of the neighborhood, I plan on continuing to give this location my business.

Just visited Waxing the City in Ballard for the first time today! They just opened and I was so impressed with their whole operation. Great location, beautiful facility, professional, friendly and helpful staff. It was a great experience. My cerologist, Nicole was excellent! I highly recommend her. I had a brow waxing (which I have had many times before) and for the first time ever it did not hurt at all. They have a great process and wax that made the whole process pain free! Loved that! I also had a full leg wax for the first time...which I loved. Nicole was so thorough and truly cared about the results! If you want a great experience...check out Waxing the City in Ballard! I will be returning.

After watching "The 40 Year Old Virgin" and seeing Steve Carol scream from being waxed, the idea just didn't appeal much to me. The actual experience was anything but what that movie made it out to be. Deborah was amazing. She was super friendly and made sure I was totally comfortable and able to relax. I ended up so relaxed I almost fell asleep at a couple points. The environment was very professional and chic as well. Everyone was amazingly friendly and helpful, I could tell they have a solid team that works really cohesively together. They even made really good product recommendations for me at the end that were specific to my needs. Overall I will be coming back for more and give them 5 out of 5.

Nice place but not cheap. It's big, clean and super friendly. I went in to get a strip on my eyebrows cleaned up and a lip wax. With a 20% discount as well as tipping 20% I walked out spending just over $60 which I absolutely didn't expect, my own fault for not clarifying the price beforehand.

I was absolutely terrified to come in for my first time getting waxed. I had only ever had my eyebrows waxed before, and didn't know what to expect. My fears were immediately erased when I walked in the door. Zoe was extremely friendly from the moment I walked in, and made sure to talk me down when I explained how nervous I was. I was a bit early for my appointment, so I was able to just sit and observe what was happening around me before I went back for my services. The minute I met Lei, it was as if I'd known her for my entire life. She was bubbly, friendly, and once we got started with the appointment I knew she was knowledgeable. Not only did she do a fantastic job with my wax, but she just put me so at ease. I knew I had nothing to worry about, and I can't wait to go back and see Lei!

This facility and its staff are aces at what they do and make you feel comfortable in the process. I’d include photos, but y’all don’t want to see all that. ;) Just trust me, they do an amazing job that, certainly for me, has resulted in little to no complications after.
