As an almost two year long customer of Waxing the City - Philadelphia, I am very happy with my experiences with both of my providers Akima and Chelsea! At first treatment, I felt vulnerable during the process, as I was unsure and had apprehension. After the process was over, I was grateful for the care that was given to me. With continued 'down there' care that I have been doing for almost two years now, the professional & personal treatment from both Akima and Chelsea honestly has helped increase my self-esteem! For those that read this review, give yourself the care you physically and mentally deserve. Life is too short to not care for yourself, first. Make your body the temple that it is! Regardless of gender, Waxing the City - Philadelphia will take care of your needs!

Everything about this location is amazing! They are always friendly, helpful and welcoming at the front desk! Amber makes waxing not so bad and I always leave with no discomfort and feeling like I got to chat with an old friend. I’ve been getting waxed by Chelsea for years! I literally don’t trust anyone else. She is efficient, fast and so personable. You can’t trust just anyone doing a Brazilian wax, but she is the BEST!!!!!! Highly recommended!!!

I just had my eyebrows done and I always struggle with shape. I saw Greta yesterday and she suggested tint which I never thought about. We tried it and I loved it. She wasn’t pushy about it at all she simply made a suggestions. She was actually so professional and took the time with me which I really appreciated and her work was amazing. I have been see by 3 different girls here but the person who keeps me coming back is my girl Natalie! From the very first appointment with her till now (I’ve been going her for 6 months now) I love it! I get my Brazilian, underarm & full-leg done by her which is a very long & painful process normally but she does them so efficiently without any pain! She is very outgoing and I’m always looking forward to my appointments with her as a nice treatment to myself! The process of how smoothly they take care of you makes you feel 100% comfortable. I’ve started waxing with Natalie and I just love her!! She’s great at what she does! Had such a great experience at this location! I was recommended to Waxing in the City after recently moving to Philly and having a horrible experience at another establishment. I been waxing for 6 years now so I know what to look out for in terms of getting waxed. Customer service from check in to check out was excellent. I booked with Akima based off of other reviews and she was nothing short of perfect! I love their precision waxing technique, it’s smaller sections and ensures everything is removed. Akima waxed me so well I felt nothing at all while telling her all about what happened to me the previous month at the other establishment. My skin looks and feels great. Because I was a new client She explained to me everything that she was doing. I’m happy to say that my search for a cerologist is over and I will continue to book with Akima!! Definitely book her you won’t regret it!

She was gentle it was like I wasn’t even getting a wax, And if you’ve ever got a wax you know how painful it could be, but OMG Gisselle she made it so comfortable and the experience was not unbearably painful at all. Waxing the city was great when I first started going there. Cecilia was my girl, very professional, gentle, and very meticulous. I love how comfortable she made me feel and I was always super happy with my waxing results. I am sad she is no longer with Waxing the city. I recently was waxed by Jessica and although she was friendly she definitely didn’t make me feel like Ceci did and she missed some spots causing to feel like she just rushed through to get me out of there. I honestly only go here because of the quality of their wax but not because of the quality of their brow shaping. Their wax keeps the hair from coming out thick and delays the regrowth in comparison to the wax from my nail shop. This is accurate information that I found with evidence based research that I did on my own. Customer service is mediocre, not really talkative or engaged, kinda bougie. I will mark that I went on a Friday around 1:30pm. There was only one person in the lobby at the time. I really wish my brows would come out more clean and nicely shaped but both times I have gone I have received the same results and it sucks! I don't know if it's something that I am doing wrong or not saying right I don't know but for now I will keep returning and I will just pluck whatever I don't like. That's how much I love their wax!! 😁

WAXING IN THE CITY is immaculate! They do a fabulous job of waxing...Shay and CeCe are awesome.... Great job! Shay calmed my apprehension....Their exfoliating products and body butters are incredible!! Highly recommend... You can get a sample before you make up your mind.... **One note though, before you go, especially for a Brazilian...Make sure you trim your long hairs at least down to a half inch or so...No shorter then a grain of rice... Ripping out 2" hairs left slight bruising and pain!** it's all good now though!!
