I have been going to this location for years now. Stella is absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable. Having tried many different salons and estheticians, I swear by Stella at Waxing the City. She makes waxing as painless as possible, doesn’t push unnecessary products, and is very thorough. I always leave feeling so much fresher and happier than I arrived- brows “on fleek” and smooth. The women at the front desk are also wonderful. Highly recommend!

Brandy is absolutely amazing !!! She’s friendly, knowledgeable and super quick. I’ve been coming to this location since I moved to New Orleans and I’m never disappointed. Very professional, clean space for waxing services. They also sell skin care and body care products which is an added bonus!

Sadi serviced me and I gotta give her a 10/10! Not only because of the conversation but she makes her clients feel comfortable that you’ll forget you’re getting waxed. If you’re nervous about getting your first wax Sadi is the woman to see. Most definitely will be returning for another visit.

I’ve had some good appointments here in the past; however, today 5 minutes before my scheduled time I got a message that it was being rescheduled to a time 15 minutes after my scheduled time. I guess my cerologist was running behind…probably because the appointment before me showed up late and they decided to squeeze him/her in and push me back. Who knows…I received no explanation either in person or on the phone. What is irritating is that I would be charged a late fee if I showed up more than ten minutes after my scheduled appointment time but the facility can change my appointment time with very little notice to me and no penalty. So just be aware that they may change your appointment based on their needs but you can’t make any changes.

Stella has been doing my Brazilian wax for a few months now, and she takes great care of me. We have good conversations due to the fact that she’s very personable. You can tell that she is very knowledgeable and sweet.

I’m a freak about my eyebrows and have been to tons of places around New Orleans to try and find the best place to get a good, affordable waxing-and this is certainly it! Stella is INCREDIBLE. She always takes the time to talk to you about your waxing goals and has tons of advice about how best to take care of your skin and hair. I have a VERY specific way that I like my brows, and Stella has never disappointed! I always leave feeling happy, impressed, and taken care of. Given how awesome Stella is, I’m sure all the other waxers at Waxing the City are also amazing!

I'm in awe with how Stella transformed my brows! My brows were super thin when I first started going to her about 3months ago but now they're naturally full and beautifully arched as if I have makeup on. Stella recommended at the beginning of my first wax appointment that we allow my brows to go through some brow training (in this process she basically cleaned up around my natural shape until there was enough hair to give me the amazing brows to which I have now). 10 out of 10! I highly recommend Stella if you're looking for someone who knows what they're doing when it comes to waxing brows. She also very sweet! I'm personally not going to anyone else lol.

I’ve used this location for a couple of years because of its convenience & because they are very punctual with appointments - with no preference for cerologists. Today I had an exceptional experience with Stella as my cerologist. She didn’t rush and was very diligent to ensure I had a great wax & got the results I wanted - while also not taking too long. I find that’s a very delicate balance to find with a wax. After 4 years in New Orleans, I’ve finally found my go-to & will be booking here with Stella.

I've always had a great experience at Waxing the City before the pandemic (well, as great an experience as you can have when having body hair ripped off you). If you're a regular customer, I definitely would recommend joining the Orange Club as you get a discount for each service and it doesn't cost anything extra. It is, however, an automatic withdrawal, but they let you choose which day of the month works best for you. I was thrilled to hear that they were booking appointments again and that my regular esthetician Liz was back. Same great, professional atmosphere with necessary precautions in place to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.

This was my first time getting waxed, ever. I walked through the door and was immediately welcomed with warm smiles. The atmosphere of the Magazine location automatically made me feel very comfortable. I was then escorted to my room, where I was told how to prep myself. Sydney was amazing! She made the process seem not as painful as it really was. She held amazing conversation with me to keep my mind at ease, was very informative and detailed about the products and services, and was SO personable I felt I knew her all my life in the short 45 min session we had. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Not to mention they play awesome music! I loved my first waxing experience, THANKS to Waxing The City.

I’ve been going to Waxing the City for a couple months now and Stella is A M A Z I N G. I reintroduced myself to waxing and searched for the best person to go to high and low and I’m glad I found Stella. She takes her time...EVERY SINGLE TIME. She is the first person I’ve had explain just what I should be doing in between waxes and offers some of the best advice and recommendations. She’s also super gentle and makes sure no hair is left behind! Im definitely a #stellarian.

She was very thorough and easy to talk to (which always helps to distract from the pain) and she kept making sure I was doing okay throughout the whole process. They did a good job but a little snobby and it really bugged me the way they did the billing so that I would not be benefited as much by their introductory offer. I went to them for convenience which they are! Can book online and have lots of openings and hours. Just seemed shady to split things up so I pay more and not a way to get clientele, should stick by what you offer.

(Second Visit) I've been getting waxes for almost ten years on and off, and Kaci made this particular waxing the best to date. There was almost no pain. And I have really coarse/curly hair so that says ALOT! When she was done, she also went back over with the tweezers to get any strays. She also talked me through ways to avoid ingrown hairs (the bain of my existence). My only feedback was that there was a lot of hair left on my upper inner thigh, which to me seems part of the "bikini" area and should have also been waxed. I inquired and was told that next time, she'll be sure to get those too. I'll do an updated review after the next waxing.

Still had some major fuzz left after a 60$ Brazilian. The constant chatter from the cerologist really makes it awkward if you need to complain about the service because at the end you've basically told them your life story because they constantly ask questions throughout the service. I dont know how you approach a service provider to ask for a more thorough job after you've pulled your pants up. Like oh, you forgot this and this. No . You just leave and dont come back.

Professional! It's like going to the doctor's office. I've been to other places where if the wax or thread didn't do the trick, they'd stop there. Here they finish the job with additional tweezing. Highly recommend.

I’ve been going to this location for two years now, and have never wanted to go anywhere else. It is always clean, the staff is friendly, and they stay on schedule. I never thought I had a preference for an esthetician until I was lucky enough to have Stella. She is knowledgeable, kind, and meticulous. She is thorough in explaining after care, and if you follow what she says, you’ll notice a difference the next time you see her. You might have to book her a week in advance, but I promise she’s worth it!
