My consultation with Dr. Leppard was excellent! He was very thorough and explained everything in a very understandable way, very nice, friendly, and I couldn’t be any happier with the appointment. All the staff and nurses were just as thorough and friendly. Sandy was the last person to visit with and she is just an absolute joy. I have been a patient of Carolinas Dermatology for several years, as well as my elderly father, and we are always treated like family. Absolute best group of medical professionals I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with!

Dr. Powell and her nurse were very thorough. They answered every question I had very well, and asked if there was anything else I need to know. Dr. Powell started me on a new medication. Explained fully how I was to use it and asked if I have any questions. She made an appointment for three months later to follow up and make sure everything was working. The only issue I had was that I was seen after waiting 45 minutes past my appointment time. However, I did hear from other clients that the wait time was not normal.

My skin-clearing journey has been such a long road since my teenage years. I have been to many doctors and, as an adult, several estheticians. It had been so stressful up until I met Bryce and Brittany. Bryce is my dermatologist and Brittany my esthetician. Both are such very informative and knowledgeable people. Brittany has been a light at the end of such a dark tunnel. She came in, listened to me access my skin and put me on an actual skin routine and taught me what product works best. She made me feel so comfortable with her because of how inviting and friendly her energy is. She really lights up the room. Since seeing Bryce and Brittany, my skin has done a 360. My skin is vibrant and smooth and my hyperpigmentation is slowly but surely fading. I’m constantly getting compliments on how glowy I look. I’m so happy with my results thus far. If anyone who is reading this and is struggling with acne, please go check them out and make sure you ask for Bryce and Brittany. You’ll surely be in good hands.

Only complaint was the mole that was removed bled through onto my shirt. They needed to either wait a little longer after the procedure, cauterize it or use a bigger bandaid.

Dr. Powell’s practice did a great job with my recent visit. Of course, the doctor addressed my health concern. But what meant the most to me were the above-and-beyond efforts put forth by her administrative staff. Prior to my visit, we ran into insurance coverage and referral issues, but that never interfered with my care. In spite of having to make multiple phone calls to resolve the issues, they politely persisted and kept me in the loop the whole time. The scheduling team was also very accommodating, when, at the last minute, I was unable to make it for my scheduled appointment time. They were super resourceful: noticed a cancellation and just shifted me into that newly-open slot. Great practice! I will definitely continue to entrust my skin care to Carolina Dermatology.

We love Dr. Ann Ervin. Very thorough and caring. She found a tiny melanoma on my husband’s arm and was treated surgically in Charleston. The temperature of the exam rooms is freezing temps. to get undressed. And, the new paper gowns replacing the cloth gowns are awful.

So far in my experience, Carolinas Dermatology & Plastic Surgery is one of the most efficient medical facilities in Columbia. My wait to see Dr. Powell was very short. I was ushered to an examination room and waited a short time for Dr. Powell's assistant to do the preliminaries and instruct me to undress and put on the gown. Dr. Powell came in, gave the exam, took off a spot on my elbow that had bothered me, and was gone. She is professional but warm. The entire experience was very satisfactory. I went into Carolina Dermatology for MOHS surgery. The surgery was quick and painless. Dr Quong has an engaging personality that puts people at ease. The office got me right in and I was ready to go 2 hours later. My follow up was with Dr Leppard in the building across the street. Again, it was the same story. I was in and out before I knew it. I received great aftercare instructions for post op from the nurses in attendance. All the staff were friendly, and engaging don the moment I walked in. Not that I want to get surgery, but if I do, this would be one of the places to have it done.

In spite of some of the reviews, I was referred to this location by my primary care physician for face/skin acne. I will say meeting with Dr. K. Powell was a pleasure. She is a new doctor there and one her personality and professionalism was very honest. She was very clear and concise and was straightforward with answering the questions I had about dealing with ethnic skin. I didn't feel rush, she thoroughly answered my questions and went over the procedures of what we would do to combat my oil skin and scaring from acne bumps as well as addressing concerns with hair (goatee/beard) on my face and how hairs tend to curl back into the skin causing horrible razor bumps and acne. She was very knowledgeable and I appreciate that so much. The nurse that was working with her Ruth, was a pleasure as well. She answer questions I had, she had an awesome personality, and was very professional as well. I can not speak for the other staff there but I will definitely only schedule to see these two. Indeed the reception area staff could use a little more customer service personality training but they were no were near as bad as I've seen the reviews on. Oh yea I was in and out as well. I did not have to wait long after signing in my appointment. Overall great service!

I arrived for my appointment on time. I checked in and was taken to a procedure room within 10 minutes. I was immediately evaluated and saw Dr Powell within another 10 minutes. She’s a great doctor. I saw Dr. Ervin yesterday at this office and I have to say she is the nicest doctor I have ever been to! She was so caring and really listened. She did her best to reassure me about a biopsy and talked through everything that would happen should it come back as cancer. Her nurse was super nice also and the numbing needle barely hurt at all. I've had other spots removed and usually that stings a lot. The staff was all friendly, including the front office. And the check out receptionist helped out with signing people in when she didn't have someone at the check out. I was highly impressed and I've had at least three bad experiences with other dermatology offices.

Ann Ervin is the best. She is on time or early. She is quick during her examination. She can do a total body scan in approx. 4 - 6 mins. Since I only see her every 6 months or so, I wish she would take just a couple of mins more when looking for skin cancer or other skin issues. I still rate her a 5 star I saw Dr Ervin again last week. She is awesome. Always early and she she a complete body scan and she found several little issues. She took a biopsy on my ear and froze a few spots on my wrist and hand. She is great.

The staff and doctors are very attentive. My PA Lauren Vargas was instrumental in taking quick action on a lesion on my ear. On the same morning she got me to Dr. Quan to do the surgery. Even a week later would have meant the top part of my ear would have needed to be removed. This is based on having a biopsy done by Lauren a week earlier and in a week the lesion had grown back to larger than before the biopsy. This was 8 months ago and still looks fine, This week, after biopsies showed squamous cells on two sites, one per leg, Dr Quan did the MOHS surgeries in about a week after the diagnosis. Very pleased with all involved.

I just want to say how absolutely thankful I am for Doctor Richardson! Please ignore the awful review left by someone below. Dr. Richardson and her nurses are the sweetest people and Dr Richardson is very kind! The staff that work at the front office area are also very sweet and friendly! I started seeing her in June of 2018 (recommend by Dr Quan) for my acne problems. I've had issues with my acne since early middle school and had tried absolutely everything I could to get rid of my painful cystic acne. I even was so self conscious I would wear makeup every day. In just the 5 short months that I've been seeing her, my face has cleared completely of acne! Just an occasional pimple here and there: nothing painful. There is also still some red scaring left behind from the past which will go away in time. I no longer wear makeup daily, only for special occasions or when I feel like it! First time visit. I was extremely pleased with all the staff and facilities. A dermatologist in another state recently did a biopsy on my ear and it came back positive. I contacted Dr. Quan and scheduled the procedure when I returned to Columbia. When I arrived he informed me that the cancerous spot was no longer there and that he did not feel it necessary to cut and "explore". He went on to say that the biopsy itself could have removed the cancer given it was caught very early. Regardless, he asked that I monitor it daily and also scheduled an appointment for me to return in 2 months. He spent a considerable amount of time with me and was even kind enough to not charge me for the visit. I highly recommend.

I had a b-cell carcinoma that had to be removed and was referred to Dr. Quan. I was extremely nervous and Dr. Quan was so very kind and considerate. He and his nurse were so nice and understanding of my fear and put them to rest completely! The procedure was a breeze after that! Dr. Quan and his staff were all very considerate and professional. I have always liked this doctor’s office, and love Dr. Ervin, but their response to Covid has been especially good. They have a person at the door checking symptoms and giving out hand sanitizer. Almost all the patients (except people who clearly can’t) are wearing masks. The floor is marked so you know where to stand, you check in, and then go wait in your car. When it is your turn, they call you, then meet you at the front and walk you to a sanitized room. I felt very safe there, and I also felt like I wasn’t going to get someone else sick. I think everyone is trying to figure out how to respond right now and I wanted to say how much I respect Carolina Dermatology’s approach. I teach public health law, and while that doesn’t make me an expert on what works best right now, it definitely makes me more aware of people who are thinking hard about how best to protect their clients. Carolina Dermatology is doing that.

I had an extremely bad rash all over my body from amoxicillin- my primary care provider tried everything to get rid of a standard allergic reaction, but it wouldn't go away/get better.
