I always drive past this location and noticed the crowd of clients and I finally decided to test the market for a new barber. Andre is by far the most detailed oriented barber in the industry. He asked questions to ensure the shape and style I was looking for was the end result. We all know looking for a barber home is like finding the lottery numbers, but it worked out. Check out this location on the Historical King Drive you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent barbershop in the historic Bronzeville neighborhood. This is truly a throwback to the classic barbershops that were a staple in the black community. Customer service is top notch, conversations are positive/upbeat/constructive, and the barbers are extremely skilled & talented. You won’t regret coming here.

The business is clean and taking extra precautions during the reopening following the global pandemic. I have appreciated and valued Success Barber Salon from its inception. The staff has always been courteous and professional. The salon is always clean and free of the loud and often offensive music in other salons. The owner, Andre aka “Dr. Dre” is socially conscious and assist young students with their homework. He even takes time to pray with customers if he feels the need! I have visited Barbershop last all throughout Chicago and this is one of the best by far. Last saturday was my first time going to a barbershop to get my hair cut. Andre was my barber, and he was very professional and courteous. Excellent service. Friendly atmosphere. General good vibes. The team of stylists here are a group of professionals that display an eminence talent with hair. Me? I’m a guy with an abundance of cowlicks that made it nearly impossible to walk away with a decent looking haircut before I discovered this place. All respect to the other places that I’ve been before Success, because it wasn’t their fault. I have one of those impossible to cut heads of hair. Now that I’ve found this place, I’m not letting it go. I can’t tell you how many times that I’ve gotten compliments on my hair. I remember one time when walking in some sketchy neighborhood in the city to take care of some business to see some shady looking dude yelling and running towards me from across the street. My thought, “here we go, it’s time to put in that work”. I rolled my neck and shoulders ready to throw down, when the guy asks, “excuse me, where did you get that haircut? It looks smooth as hell.” I told him and he thanked me and walked away like I gave him a winning lottery ticket. What I’m trying to convey in this long and drawn out review is this, if you’re looking for a good place to get your haircut (or anything thing grooming related because I had it all done here), look no further than Success Barber Salon.

I've been getting my hair cut by Andre (the owner) once a week for the past 3-plus years. I wouldn't trust my hair with any other shop in Chicago. All of the barbers at Success (shout out to Rob, Mac, Max, and Romeil) are professionals who give great cuts, and who are good people on top of that. The atmosphere at Success is always welcoming and positive, and the services are top notch. A friend of mine recommended Success to me years ago, and I have recommended the place to my friends since then. The shop is simply fantastic.

My sons went to Success Barber shop years ago and whenever they visited I would always watch how Andre cut. I recently cut my neck length hair and when I did unfortunately I went to a woman who had no idea what she was doing. I immediately thought about going to Andre to get it fixed. I went to the shop, sat in the chair and asked him to fix it. He took a look at me and said ok. What he did was incredible. It also was important for me to look my best because the next day I was meeting my new boss, the COO of my company. The first thing she said to me was, "You look absolutely beautiful with that haircut." I have to say thank you to Dre for getting me right. I truly appreciate it and he is now my new barber.

I was eating at the nearby Chicago Chicken and waffles restaurant during a visit to Chicago and saw their advertisement for a $10 first time haircut. I went in, and sat down with Mack who unbeknownst to me, would become one of my closes friends when I actually relocated to the city. Success isn't simply a barber salon, offering great service but a community pillar where you'll normally find it buzzing with people from all walks of life within. DRE The owner has been really good about working with local businesses to inclusively market their businesses to his clientele and has built a pretty great reputation with his work, and with the staff he put together. Everyone here is great, I highly recommend stopping in for a visit.
