This is my go-to County course! Really fun to play, relatively flat, but still challenging with water hazards and some narrow spots. Some fairways and greens are not in the greatest shape, but nothing major. The clubhouse with the restaurant is a nice change compared to other courses. Great place to grab a bite and a beer after the round.

The course is in really nice shape. As long as you hit straight your fine as its narrow on some holes. The greens are nice overall nice day of golf.

Nice course. A few fairways had burned out spots. Greens and tee boxes are in good shape. Challenging carries over water on holes #1 and #10. Friendly pro shop. Very good restaurant/bar.

Considering all the rain we had this summer the course was in good shape. To all the inconsiderate golfers please replace your divets, especially at the ninth hole. It looked like a scene from Caddy Shack.

Nice and challenging course. Formerly a private course. Good price for Bergen County residents. Course is generally in good shape but some fairways have burned out spots. Nice new power golf carts. Carry of 150 yds plus on holes 1 and 10.

Nice course normally in good condition except for holes 12 and 13 which always seems to have lots of casual water/damage. Staff is always great here, very polite and helpful.

Nice tight course. Some greens needs work but overall a great course. Variety of challenges and layouts at all lengths. Great test of short game control with lots of water holes.

This could be the best county course, unfortunately it’s in tough shape. Fairways and greens immensely inconsistent.

Valley Brook is my favorite Bergen County course. It is well designed, has a good number of challenges (water, bunkers, trees etc.) and well mixed between long and short holes as well as difficult and easy holes. The whole staff is lovely, very friendly and it has a range + practice green. Overall you can score well here and get a nice day of golfing in. No 5 stars because of a lot of geese and its droppings in combination with drainage challenges causing in some areas an ugly smelling 'soup'. Not sure what can be done about that but this course would be 5 stars without those issues.

Great county public course. Wide fairways so you don't lose balls if you're a duffer like me. Nice clubhouse with table service restaurant and full bar. Probably the nicest of the Bergen County courses overall.

One of the few public North Jersey courses with a grass driving range. That is definitely a plus. However some of the greens had patches of dirt on it which made putting an inconvenience. All in all, pace of play was good and staff was very friendly, so I would highly recommend.

Decent course. A few too many dog legs, but that is a personal opinion. Greens were not in good shape and a couple of them were atrocious. Pace of play was a little slow. For a muni, it was good.

Nice course. Somewhat short in terms of total yardage and it has drainage issues on some of the holes. My chief complaint is that Bergen County courses are still fairly pricey for what you get (especially when you opt for a cart) even after you buy the yearly county membership card.

If you have a long ball game keep it in the bag. This course requires short game skills. On hole 10 and 11 I drove the green from the gold tees and on hole 18 I almost drove the ball over the water, but it went in anyway. Next time I will play from the tips and use my 3 wood for teeing off. For a county course it was in good shape, but the greens were a little bouncy. I would play this course again.

Back 9 greens were pretty torn up; putting through dirt & colossal bald spots. Lady at check in upon arrival was not very welcoming, just blurted at me “What time?” Nice layout for a short course.

The county has put a great deal of work and money into this course over the last six months. The bunkers, which used to be absolutely unplayable, have been remade, with proper drainage, made less severe in terms of slope, and have had true bunkering sand placed in them. Many of the holes have had trees removed from near the greens to allow better sunlight and airflow, reducing the bare and fungus spots to a small area instead of taking over entire green complexes. The tees have been resodded in places to allow for a better experience. I am very pleased with the work, and hope it continues. If you have not been there in a few months or years, it is worth a look again.

Played here for the first time a couple of weeks ago - very enjoyable, challenging, and a great bargain for BC residents. Yes, the greens are being winterized, but it's still a great test of golf!

Efficient process at the proshop. Course is enjoyable as I'm a high handicapper. Greens definitely need some critical help. Will be back for sure.

The course was very beat up from the storms when I played and I had trouble finding yardage markers so it was difficult to know how far you were from the pin.

The front 9 holes greens are awful, the fairways are great the back 9 holes and greens are the best No excuses a bout irrigation the green has been awful like that for a while It will be a long time before I will play again at this county course and if you ride you paid 48 dollars on the weekend ,a RIP off for the conditions that you face on the first 9 greens as a golfer very bad and frustating It should be a discount due to the front nine greens FIXED THEM NO EXCUSES and that is my opinion.
