For years, TPC Tampa Bay has been regarded as one of the best public access facilities in the Tampa market. After all, whenever the letters TPC precede anything to do with golf, expectations are automatically raised, and TPC Tampa Bay delivers. In mid-September 2022, TPC Tampa Bay reopened to rave reviews. For the most part, the outstanding design that Weed and Rodriguez created was left intact. The greens were regrassed with Champion G-12 hybrid Ultradwarf Bermuda, the tees and fairways were regrassed with Bimini Bermuda, and enhancements were made to the practice facility. Extensive work was done to improve the drainage throughout the course. For General Manager Steve Ostroff and his staff, it’s all about a “Return to Glory” and bringing the club back to what it once was. TPC Tampa Bay is extremely diverse - not only has it challenged the best golfers in the world, but every day it is played and enjoyed by golfers with abilities that range from future professionals to those who are simply on vacation. TPC Tampa Bay offers golfers six sets of tees to choose from; the TPC Tees play 6,898 yards. From back here you can get an idea of what the pros experience. At 6,008 yards, the White Tees provide a lot of enjoyment and may even let you leave with a little dignity still intact. For those that may feel overwhelmed, try the Forward Tees at 4,990 yards. Pick the set that best suits your game and you’re sure to have an enjoyable round. TPC Tampa Bay winds its way through an upscale neighborhood in Lutz, FL and as you make your way around the golf course, you can tell from all of the mounds around the greens and on the peripheries of the fairways that this course was built with spectators in mind. Heritage Golf Group is determined to bring professional golf back to TPC Tampa Bay. The 2022 Finals of the PGA TOUR Champions were held here, and the intent is to bring it back in the upcoming years. It is the perfect venue for what many regard as one of golf's most difficult competitions. The course is set among natural wetlands with strands of cypress trees and several manmade and natural lagoons. The majority of holes at TPC have generous fairways that leave manageable shots into the green. Miss the fairway off the tee and you can easily find one of many sculpted fairway bunkers that dot the landing areas. Most of the greens are raised, placing a premium on accurate approach shots. Hit a poor approach shot and you can easily find yourself in one of the many grass swales or in the mounding that surrounds many putting surfaces. The greens themselves have a lot of undulation; many have multiple tiers and are usually protected by bleach-white bunkers. The difficulties around the green will give you a new appreciation for a PGA TOUR player’s short game! There are several risk-reward opportunities and if you ever feel overly challenged on a particular shot, odds are there’s a place where you can bail out and still give yourself a chance to make par. TPC requires you to think your way around the course, for the most part, it’s brains over brawn. TPC features some amazing practice facilities as well. Since they are a daily fee property, those playing the course are welcome to use any part of the practice area before or after their round. We enjoyed our round today so much we played an additional 9. Our experience was first class from the pro shop (great selection and fair prices… although I spent way to much!!). Tto practice facilities and the course. The course has recently gone through a renovation of the greens. They were firm but I could still hold the green when hitting from the fairway. The greens rolled true, when you hit your line they rolled in. When I was out of position, in the cabbage, it was penalizing! The staff was great and I will definitely play there again.

Really not worth $165 plus tax. I expected more for that price. I will say the the staff was helpful and professional. The range and practice areas were great. The clubhouse was nice. The course just wasn't all that. I would not play again because of the cost to play.

Being from Iowa, this is one of the best courses I have ever played. It was in great shape and every one was very friendly! Pricey, but worth it! I will definitely play again!

First time here and had a nice time golfing. We got the groupgolfer deal ($59) and it's probably fair for that price. The course layout is that of a typical Florida course. They do add some burms and mounds along the fairways, but around the greens is where they get diabolical. Most greens are well protected and some get very tiny, which was interesting. While the fairways were in fairly good shape, a lot of the greens had rough patches, not horrible, but noticable. It had rained a lot the day before, so it was golf cart path only which contributed to a 5 and a half hour round...Brutal! The drink prices seemed TPC high too. 2 beers, Gatorade and water. $17...I think overall it is a good course, but I'd much rather play 3 rounds at World Woods or Lake Jovita for the same price....

For $115 I was pretty disappointed. The course was non-descript and left a lot to be desired in a course of this “caliber”. The greens were incredibly slow for being a “tour” course, and the greens were only moderately firm, allowing for a lot of spin. The conditions played like $50-60 course, the rough was patchy and yellowing. The greens were spotty and had crab grass in some areas, some of the greens had heavy sand around the flag. At the end of the day if you asked me if it was fun, I would say sure. If you asked me if I’d come back or recommend it to a friend, I would not. Nothing special for a TPC course. This course screams, “you couldn’t afford Sawgrass, so here you go”.

This is just a great track. Depending on your tee time, and if you are not a member or have some other discount, you will pay a pretty penny. However there are great adminities. Huge chipping and putting green. Free range balls, the range is for your full bag, irons, woods, etc. Lastly, the course is in perfect shape!

Came here for my birthday with my fiance. Beautiful course, staff is super friendly. It was in great shape when we went. I had a bad round, but won't blame that on the course ha! Highly recommend. We booked the earliest tee time that morning, still ended up paired with one gentlemen, but that wasn't a big issue. He definitely saw a meltdown on hole 16 😅. Will definitely be back for redemption

Played here on 4/11/22. The course was in great shape. Greens rolled true and fast. Fairways in great shape. Rough will get ya if you dabble into the St Augustine. Sand bunkers were a little hard but consistent and playable. Club house staff were great and accommodating. Bar staff was a little slow. Overall a great experience. I would play here again.

I’m a local and have played this course over the years and was disappointed with the course condition on my last visit a year or two ago. I was pleasantly surprised to see the course and greens in good condition. I understand they’re considering renovating the course but I didn’t see the need to do much nor did my playing partners. The only negative was pace of play being slow for a week day with 3 groups on a hole in some instances, resulting in a 4 1/2hr round.

$130 and a few people on staff referenced how the "greens are not up to our standards" and "we're punching them soon because they're not in good shape." It's a great course and the layout is really cool, but it's not worth spending the money on until they get the greens rolling again.

$165 for an $65 course. Although lots of rain before I played, heard they just resurfaced the entire course so I'm sure they will get there again one day. Been 10 years since I've played this course and it will probably be another 10 years. My suggestion, save your money and go somewhere else.

TPC Tampa Bay is a nice course with challenging holes. Overpriced though so be prepared to pay for the “TPC” name and no so much for the golf. For the money and time it’s worth a drive to World Woods, Southern Dunes or even Orlando Resort areas for similar or better golf. Also- didn’t see beverage cart until hole 11 so grab drinks to go from bar.

TPC Tampa Bay is a very great course the staff members are very friendly. The pro shop is good sized I bought a few poker chips and a golf shirt here. The course is in great condition the greens are tougher than any I've played at. To be honest the fairways are in great condition. And it's a challenging course lots of risk reward holes.

The layout of this course is outstanding, however for $150 course there were parts of it that I thought could have been maintained better. Specifically the greens, their consistency from hole to hole was different and they were incredibly sandy. The tee boxes aren't super important, but were pretty beat up. I had fun, but not wholly worth the money

Staff was great! We were treated very well. Challenging and fun layout to the course! However, we traveled down from Ohio to play this course, and it did not meet our expectations. Specifically, there was something wrong with the greens. There were several bare/skinned spots on multiple greens. I hope they get this fixed.

My new go to course in Tampa. I've been playing out here for several years looking for a good course that's well maintained. I've had a difficult time finding any munis with consistent fairways and greens. TPC has a great layout, well groomed fairways and greens. Only downside is the higher green fees but it's the only place I've found outside of a country club that offers quality golf. Staff was very friendly, even reminded me to ask about the bounce back rates if I came back that week. Also played with a local member who showed me around the course. I'll be back.

Had an issue on the course with a group of members. The management was fast to contact me after my round. Nice course. Fast greens. I feel it plays a little longer than the card which is not a bad thing. Carts have current GPS screens on them as well as usb ports to charge your phones. Staff was very friendly.

Head pro Justin Wink went out of his way to make me feel welcome and to make up for the fact that I was not notified of aeration conditions prior to my booking a tee time. He sent me an email on the morning of my round and then personally came out on the course to find me to see how my round was going and to apologize for the late notice of the course conditions. He offered to invite me back to play again at a discounted rate when the course conditions are optimal. However, I live out of town and was not sure when I would be back in the Tampa area. So, instead, he discounted my rental clubs. All of the other club/course staff were EXTREMELY nice. I was flying out directly after playing, so the staff made sure I was set up with a locker, towels, and toiletries to get cleaned up after my round. I can't say enough good things about the staff at this course. As for the course, the greens were a little bumpy and sandy still after being aerated about 2 weeks prior. However the fairways were almost completely back to normal. Course was in good condition, plenty of water stations for the hot temps. Challenging but fair course with a premium on shot placement. It was an enjoyable round on a well laid out course with an EXCEPTIONAL staff.

Great layout, but the greens were beat up in certain places. They made sure not to put the pins near the damaged parts of the greens, but you could tell a lot of water damage (it hasn't rained that much lately). Great course though, but pretty expensive.

Living in the Tampa Bay area it is always a pleasure to go to this facility. The staff has always been very pleasant from the beginning to the end. The food is excellent having had lunch and dinner there. Whenever I have guests this is the place to go. I belong to a different club since I live an hour away but going to TPC is always worth the drive. Yesterday I met Natalie for my first of several lessons. She is remarkable and helped me immediately and I look forward to our future meetings. The course is challenging but always in excellent condition.

Five long hours of "cart path only" golf to celebrate the 4th of July. The greens were recently punched, but the course was nice enough to offer coupons for discounted golf when the conditions improve. They can't do anything about the wet conditions, but it was surprising just how many poor (and slow) golfers were playing this course. The wife is a 38 handicap, but she knows how to play in 4 hours or less. Very friendly staff, and am looking forward to playing TPC when conditions are better and the pace of play is (hopefully) improved.

Played TPC Tampa Bay on 2/21 and 2/22. The course was in great shape, greens were reasonably fast and smooth. The layout was challenging but fair and the staff was terrific all around. It is a bit pricy but worth it given the above. My only critique would be pair up twosomes. We played 18 in under 4 hours on both days but had multiple twosomes behind us of which the twosome directly behind us was on our butt every hole. This should have been managed better.

TPC has a very nice layout among the houses, but was not in the greatest condition likely due to heavy traffic. It had poured rain the day before we played so the greens had not been cut nor rolled so played slower than other courses in the area. In addition, it was a 5 hour round so not the most enjoyable day (I believe the group in front was flagged for slow play but no action taken). As others have written, while its not a bad course, it is expensive to play relying more on its name than on its condition.

Extremely professional...the crew at this station helped save a life today. A man desperate not to miss his train, hopped on the back of the iron horse as I pulled out of the station. The crew immediately took notice and stopped the train promptly. I have an actual of the incident. Had the amtrak employees not acted promptly, this man could have died! Kudos Amtrak employees 👍👍

If you want a first class golf experience, look no further than TPC Tampa Bay. From the moment I arrived and my clubs were loaded for me, I felt as if I were the only guest there. Donnie in the Pro Shop was more than nice, as was the starter Loras. The course was magnificent and the greens were fast and true. My ego was bruised a little by the demanding nature of the course, but an excellent time was had by all in our foursome. We enjoyed a cold libation in their on site 5 star restaurant Cuatro. Keep up the great work.

I played on March 11 with 8:04 AM tee time. The course was good, well manicured and the staff was friendly. However, for the price I paid, ~$185, I am not sure if the value was there. Perhaps I was paying for the name. Two things that bothered me: 1. No beverage cart. 2. Lawn mowers terrorizing us for 4 holes or so. I get it, they have to mow the fairways, but it seemed like they followed us for 3-4 holes until we outran them and they seemed bothered that they had to stop to let us hit our shots. Very nerve racking.

I have played many TPC courses, from Boston to Las Vegas and this one was by far the most run down clubhouse I have been to. Not much to see here folks, keep moving. The course was average but the greens were TPC quality. I am a 4 handicap and did score well today because of the excellent greens. Other than that..... don't waste your money. There are to many places to play in Florida, private and public to waste your time here. By the way, not to dis them completely, the starter was a true gentleman, a professional. Sorry I can't say the same from the woman in the pro shop who we paid that day to get on. She should go to a store and try to buy a personality, it might help. Overall, I was very disappointed with this so called " TPC "

Just got done with a 5 lesson package with Scott Schulte at TPC Tampa. Great experience so far and planning to reante for another 5 lessons. Scott is very knowledgeable about the game and how to teach it. He looks for small victories from each lesson to keep me progressing and getting better. Takes videos as well and email/text them to you with commentary so you can view and remember the things you worked on. Looking forward to working with Scott and could recommend more!

Played last week, I have played this course in spring, summer,fall and winter the greens are never what I consider fast . The course is a great track and always in good condition even sand traps but the greens are a disappointment

Played here while on vacation from Michigan. They had recently put in brand new greens, you could tell, very firm and in great shape, not as fast as you would think for how firm. Course was in great shape overall and a lot of fun. Challenging but fair. Got to meet PGA champions tour pro Jim Thorpe while there. Staff was amazing, especially the guys in the proshop.
