I played the South course. The layout was nice and the bunker placents presented a good challenge. Bunkers were not in good condition as some of them were very wet. Range balls were included in the round but for the 35 minutes I was at the range, the balls were not refilled so a few of us were left scavenging for range balls.

Great layout, from the tips it's all you'll want over 7200 yards.... Overall course condition in January was great, fairways were great, the greens were receptive and rolled very true.... beautiful clubhouse and the pro shop had a decent selection and the staff very helpful and friendly...in a gated community with good security at the gate which is always nice to see.... Yes I strongly recommend this track 💯

Great golf courses, South is more challenging, but North is more scenic in my opinion. Very good condition and fun to play. Expect to pay $40 to $70 but there are deals for some better prices.

Played the South course and it was excellent! First hole was interesting for me...downhill and dogleg left (it takes me a few holes to get into the groove). A few guys that we spoke to said "Good luck on that course". I would like to play the North course to compare.

Absolutely love these courses. Conditions are premium. Greens are big, fast, and really tough. The North Course is hilly and undulating, The South Course is a traditional FL course with flatter holes and plenty of water. Both are really challenging but play all year long in near tour-course conditions. You'd be hard pressed to find a bad lie in the fairways.

Played the South course since the North course was aerated last week. Can't say enough good things about this course. Everyone I had contact with made me feel welcome despite this being a private course. Greens were excellent, running at 9.5-10 on the stimp meter. Course conditions were excellent. Course layout was challenging but fair. The course is built on rolling terrain which allows you to see the layout of most holes from the tee box. Houses are around most holes but are not in play. Next to World Woods and Innisbrook, this is by far the best course I've played in the Tampa area. And this course is close to them in quality of the experience.

Definitely worth the trip! The carts had plush seats and were bluetooth compatible. Speakers were great! 2 Championship caliber courses that were in solid shape. Greens were fast, consistent and smooth. Both course have plenty of attitude. The North course had a cleaner look but the South course was more fun! I loved the down hill par 5 on the back 9. Some of the fairways actually had a soft feel to them (unlike most Florida courses which are hard and clay like). Staff was extremely friendly. Excellent practice facilities. Complimentary balls provided at the range. Multiple putting greens that allow close range chipping. Eventhough it took 1.5hrs for me to get there I woulr definitely go back.

great golf course & food at country club! villas are kinda older & outdated, yet spacious w lotsa furniture to eat/talk w family. comes w golf carts. lotsa room for our family wedding. ***complaint-thin, small towels don’t fit tall fluffy people. confusing TV/cable system. also MOLD in one room by vent. broken metal piece by door handle.

This course is a hidden gem, it's not widely talked about mainly because people just don't know about it or it's out in the middle of nowhere. This is an incredible course with awesome food, great clubhouse, and a super friendly staff. Definitely need to try it out!

The North Course Beautiful / The Service was unprofessional..... The course I would highly recommend, it was in great shape..... Unfortunately we came across a couple of service people that just had a poor attitude.... The snack attendant was unwelcoming, and I had to wait for her to acknowledge my hello for service, btw, she was sitting at the order window. And the Cart Woman was extremely unprofessional, driving up while we were teeing off.... Saw her a few holes later, we needed some drinks bc of the heat, waved her to come over which she just sat away from us and us come to her, that was fine no problem, but when we got to her, she was more interested in sitting in the cart and looking at her phone instead of taking our order....We actually had to say, can we get something bc she didn't even look up at us, and her attitude was horrible..... I will say that the gentleman bartender upstairs was very courteous, and has a great attitude. Overall, go for the golf, but bring your own drinks, and food.

Great course kept in good condition and relaxing atmosphere. Prices tend to be higher during different season of the year but this course is well worth it. Staff is very friendly making sure you have everything you need. The greens were in good shape and the scenery is very nice.

Played the South course but definitely heading back for the North and an additional crack at the South. Condition was exceptional, especially with the summer rates. The only exception was a few slightly battered greens and some bunkers with poor drainage, but everything is FL is wet this time of year and you should be trying to stay out of the bunkers anyway. Loved the layout. Very hard to find these kind of rolling hills and elevation changes in FL. Plenty of tee choices to challenge every level but still make it playable for the scrubs like me. Staff that I dealt with were very polite and helpful to a 1st time visitor. However, my only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars, and I kinda wish I could do 4 1/2, but cart service was very scarce. Lucky I brought my own water because it was 95 degrees out and I saw her on the 2nd hole, when she sped past me without any acknowledgement, and not again until around the 16th, when I was almost done.

I thought both courses were great, reasonably priced. North Course a little more like resort course, wide driving areas,very playable. South Course tougher, more of a championship layout. Pace of play was very good. Pro Shop and Membership Staff very friendly. Food & service was very good, food was a little pricey if you weren't a member.

First time playing the North Course and I had a great time! Greens were fast and rolled really nicely, which is great during this time of year, with all of the rain. There were a few washed out bunkers due to the rain but all in all the course was in great shape! Fairways and rough were in great shape as well.

We played the north course and it was a good day. The course condition was in decent shape, greens very fast and staff very friendly. I found the course very similar to others that we played which is not a negative thing, more of a reflection of my aging memory.

First visit to the facility, very impressive visually on approach, plenty of parking spaces. Reception staff very helpful. Well stocked pro shop, efficient and organised, helpful to first time visitor playing golf. Two 18 hole courses presented to a very high standard, will play again if I return to the area on vacation.

Two very nice golf courses but members can be a little Snappy at times. I have been coming to Lake Jovita for over 10 years and unfortunately conditions have been deteriorating a little bit since new owners took over. Definitely still worth the money

Fast great greens! Shame driving range is closed somedays which makes it hard to warm up for a great test of your golf game. Takes 3 to 4 holes to figure it out. Course may want to try and figure that out.

Jovita is back in top shape ! Had company in town, booked one of the rounds for the wrong day accidentally & they accommodated us and basically saved the day. Really pleased with the pro & staff that rolled out the red carpet. What a relief .... & the course being in great condition didn’t hurt either . Great visit & will be back

The North course has always been one of my favorite tracks in the greater Tampa Bay Area. Something about it just fits my eye and I am enthusiastic to play it. #1 is a terrific opening Par 5, the Par 3's are all good in different ways and most of the Par 4's and Par 5's allow you to attack using driver without hesitation. I do not feel as strongly about the South course, particularly because the first hole there is one of the worst opening holes in the greater Tampa Bay Area. That said, the South redeems itself after that and both #9 and #18 designed around the same lake coming back to the clubhouse is a good look. I've rarely found anything average or worse in the conditions of tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens at Lake Jovita and the elevation changes are fun to play. For those of us living in the city of Tampa, the drive is generally worth it.

Like everywhere else they are suffering from lots of rain. Mainly washed out traps. Greens were nice but somewhat slow into the grain. One or two had some crappy spots. After the next punch they will be awesome as usual after they recover. No sand in the carts for fixing divots in the fairways and no drinking water or cups on the course for the 1st 4 holes and it was too humid and hot to be outside much less playing golf. Cart staff needs to take care of that stuff. Didnt expect that. Still South is one of the premier courses around.

Played the south course. Tee boxes were a nightmare. Greens were punched, they didn't tell us. Gave us a one dollar discount for paradise cards. Not worth the 49 dollars when we played saddlebrook the day before for 42 in the morning and it was in unbelievable shape.

Played the North course. Was in excellent shape, big fast greens. Few issues though. For such a posh establishment NO ONE came out to the parking lot to pick you up, and when the round was over NO ONEA came out to pick up the cart or wash your clubs. Other issue was with the starter. I was in a group of just 2, and were there a bit early and ready to go. However the starter advised he was waiting on a foursome to show up, and we can go after them. Yes they had an earlier time, yet weren't there yet, and we were ready. Why stick a twosome behind a 4. And of course they were members and held up they entire golf course. There was at least 3 empty holes ahead of them. The North course doesn't have a snack bar at the turn and doesn't finish near the club house. The cart girl didn't come by till the 14th hole and never saw her again after that. Even after all that I'll still come back to play the South course.

South Course was in pretty good condition. Greens were firm, a bit bumpy and very hard to read for me. It looks like it's going to break hard and ends up going straight. Probably just me but, bumpy. This course rewards shots in the fairway ... However, find that 1st cut of rough and you're dead! Very high caliber course for the area but, they really need to roll these greens.

I had high expectations of this club. The fees reflect its somewhat premium nature for a club a bit of a drive from the Tampa/ Clearwater population centers. I was a bit disappointed. Play was slow (4 hrs, 40 mins) . Fairways were so tight that every shot was like hitting from the parking lot ... Reminded me of an Irish sea side course. I don't plan to take the long trip out there again soon. World Woods would be a much better choice.

Greens were fairly slow due to recent treatment. Many of the fairways on the South course were just in poor shape. Very competitive and fun layout, just wish it was in better shape.

The meals were okay. The wife had the turkey brie croissant. But the sweet potato chips were soggy. The nice server exchanged them with fruit. I had the LJ stir fry with saffron rice. They made it with regular white rice with no flavor. Wish the cook new his-her own menu. Father in law had the Cobb salad always a good dish. Mother in law had the Cuban. Would have been better if the server could smile just once. We will be back. We live here.

I live over 50 miles from Lake Jovita,most likely it will be sometime before I go back. Don't get me wrong, greens & fairways are very good, however the rough is terrible. So easy to loose a ball in the only about 4 inch wire grass.

I stayed here a week. Course is average, nothing special. Too much hardpan on the fairways. Its hard to hit a good shot off of concrete. Nothing special about this place. "average". In chicago i would not pay more than 30$ for this course.

I was almost late for my tee time and couldn't find a parking spot at first. A young man who watched my frustration came in a golf cart, picked me up and delivered me to the pro shop. He smiled. He was given the gift of encouragement when he said, "Go get some birdies." After the round he smiled at me again and asked how I did. "Three birds like the Bob Marley song." This young man's name is Alex Nay. His genuine caring attitude will carry him to the top in life I believe. Thank you Alex.

The original South course, designed by Tom Lehman and Kurt Sandness, opened in 1999 and was followed a couple of years later by the Steve Sandness designed North course. The North course at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club is a championship layout that ranks with some of the best in Florida. This open parkland course provides a wonderful test for your all-round game, with many attractive, skilfully crafted and challenging holes to enjoy. A must play if you are in the area.

Both courses were beautiful with spectacular holes! I think I like the north course a little bit more but both are fantastic and are in fantastic shape. Would absolutely recommend this course to anyone that enjoys a good round of golf! Just be prepared the greens are pretty fast!
