Good course. Our cart was dying the whole round, by the 14th-15th hole we requested a new one. Never heard anything hut the cart died on us multiple times leading to a delay in play and us having to push ours. Why can't we get fully charged carts?

WOW! 4 1/2 to 5 stars (cant do halves)...I have played a lot of course open to the public in Tampa Bay this is a gem. Everything one wants you cant get at this course. Nice fairways, nice greens, a challenge, cart with GPS plus, nice club house... not crowded; well worth the price and ladies on Tuesday can Golf $25. I will make the drive and go play it again. Mid to high handicapper...for context I would give Buckhorn Springs Golf and Country Club (private) 5+ stars ...really enjoyed this course!

Fun track! Clubhouse staff was nice and was able to squeeze us in after a buddy booked the wrong Saturday morning. Carts have GPS and distance which is so helpful. Idk if there's actually a lot of water but we found a lot of it. Great value, course in great shape.

Was accompanying my man while he played 18 holes.....the gold course was nice a little small but they need better management.... our booked group left early, then we had to wait to see if any upcoming groups could add 1 more.... 10 mins later told us to just go as a 1 person group..... wouldn't let him start at the back so we wouldnt get stuck between all the other groups..... said he has to play thru.... thankfully while waiting for their decision we meet a group of men that allowed us to join their group.

Very nice layout with tees that cover all handicap levels. Fairways are filled in and greens roll fast. Bunkers were very well maintained. New owners have put some money into the range and short game practice area. Really good food too. Great golf course.

Love the course! Play there often, continues to be a gem! Conditions now are great even with the traditional rainy season. Only issue I have is I cannot understand why bar and restaurant are completely closed, makes no sense at all. Not good for customers and I can only imagine how much money they are letting slip away! But the course is great, the superintendent does a fantastic job!!

Saw 4 gators!!!! New management/owners have the the bar and grill opening this month and extending the range. Also heard they are getting new tee boxes. They have a Player development program membership now which is a no brainer if you live close by. Past owners were great but glad to see things getting better here!!!!

The course is beautiful and reasonably priced for 18 holes. It's a slightly tougher course in my opinion due to the water and multiple sand traps. BEWARE of the sand trap rakes - they are weather torn and thus have fiber glass that will CUT YOUR HAND if you're not wearing gloves. I still have a piece of it stuck in my hand.

Golf course design is fantastic and condition is mediocre. The only negative, which is a big one, is they are terrible at policing and enforcing pace of play. If you ever have a backup at the first tee you need a better starter and ranger.

This is one of my favorite golf courses in the Sun City Center area. Cypress Creek is a privately owned Country Club that has a beautiful layout. The condition of the golf course is usually very good and the greens are pretty fast. This is a must play golf course if you are close to this area.

In terms of public golf in the Tampa area I really think this the best there is. The course in the last few years has really improved conditioning. The greens roll exceptionally true and the layout is very challenging and interesting and the views on some holes are really stunning. The pro shop is bare bones and the kitchen leaves something to be desired but the golf itself is truly great. Having seen the improvement over the last few years I hope they can continue on this path. Update: Nov 2020 - I returned to this course after moving from the area and still found everything in the above review to be accurate. Still love this course.

Excellent course! Very challenging. Greens speedy, some tiered and some were small. Need to place the ball perfectly or it will roll off. Fairways...undulations and in good shape. Like the greens, need to place the ball in the perfect spot or it will roll off into the water. GPS on carts are amazing! Best I've seen. All courses need the same set up as this. A must play!

Hidden gem! There are lots of trees for shade, sand traps excellently placed AND maintained. The greens are true and faster as the sun warms them. Blue tees a real challenge, black tees make it longer, but white tees just as fun. Keep that driver in the bag, cause this is NOT you typical wide open “grip it and rip it” public course. Cypress makes you think about your shots, some great blind shots with hidden trouble for those trying to cut the corner. Best way is to play the fairway and let the “surroundings” transcend you. Excellent grass practice range and great putting green too.

this is a hidden gem of a golf course. just a terrific design, challenging but fair and wide open enough to allow for a few stray shots. course is in great shape, especially tees and greens. in my experience, it doesn't get as much play as you'd expect, so pace of play is good--I got around in three(!) hours yesterday. I'm more than willing to travel more than 30 miles for this great golf experience.

This is an excellent course! Stand on every tee and the hole tells you the shot shape required. A beautiful, natural environment of trees and lakes enhance the design. Bunkers frame the holes nicely, yet can be skillfully avoided. The “Champion” Bermuda greens are smooth, inviting you to roll a few into the hole. Play from the tee that suits your game and you could play this golf course every day and be challenged. Consistently well conditioned. Wonderful staff...love Cypress Creek!!

Great golf course. Conditions were really good. Nice practice areas. Our only complaint was there's no beverage cart which would be fine except the only two water coolers on the course we're empty by 1 pm. It's hot and that's a small thing but it so much better when you have water available throughout the day for all the golfers. We'll be back and be better prepared.

Good value. Few holes with high traffic bunkers that where not up to par. Greens were rolling but a little on slow side. But for $37 it was ok $50 would be a little too much. Oh and they have those carts if you get in a “restricted zones” take 1-3mins to slowly get out. (Some in weird places)

I really love this course the layout and scenery is outstanding,the only issue I have is the price is a bit high,I noticed the parking lot was not even half full. I would come play it more often if the price was better. Other than that I had a great time the staff was very nice.

This is very beautiful and well cared for golf course. The staff is always nice and helpful. Greens are always pristine. The lay out of the course is challenging and fun that can’t be overpowered. Definitely a top tier course!

Course is in decent shape. Greens are rolling well. Price @38 on line is fair. Only issue is the starter or lack thereof. 5 different golfers claimed to have the 1:45 tee time. A twosome w/o a tee time jumps off #1 and we’re stuck w a slow round with the log jam. Still a good course and good layout.

I have played Cypress Creek several times in the past. It is generally always in good shape. I played again on May 18, 2018 after several days of rain in the area. The course was beautiful! The fairways were neatly cut and the greens were outstanding! Course maintenance must do a great job as there were no course restrictions even after all the rain. I will continue to play at Cypress Creek.

What a bargain. Course is in great shape as always. Despite plenty of walkers, pace was good and our twosome had very little wait. Beverage cart came by about 5 times during our game. But, just like every other golf course, they put the holes in the wrong place.

We appreciate that they were able to stay open during this time of need and still keep our safety in the forefront. Single person golf cart, bottle water, Styrofoam in the cups, six foot rule, etc. The course is in good shape.

Pretty nice course. We were able to get out a bit earlier than our tee time, so it was nice them being flexible. Also, despite how busy it was and waiting every other shot for a little bit, we still completed the round in 4 hours. I'd play here again.

From Tee to Green - Phenomenal! Absolutely nothing to complain about and it challenges, rewards and will punish if you're careless! The best course in a 10-15 mile radius by far. Two of us played Wednesday morning and completed the round in about 3 hours even with a few practice putts on some of the larger greens just to get a feel for the contours and speed. Will definitely return and for anyone looking for a great track to play Cypress Creek in Sun City!! Hcp - 8 and play two - three times per week!

Course in good shape. Loved playing there. After playing first nine, was disappointed to see they let a twosome off the 10th hole in front of us. Held our twosome up for several holes. Cart lady came around with beverages. Would have bought a Pepsi, but she wanted $4.25 for it. Quite a mark up..

This is a beautiful course! Not the typical Florida course shoehorned into a housing development. Houses rarely come into play. Staff very friendly and price reasonable. A map of course on scorecard would be helpful. I know it is on GPS, but easier to read and see in one's hand.

First time playing this course and what a pleasant surprise! I have played a lot of courses in Southern Hillsborough county and this is by far the best. Although a few greens had blemishes, the overall condition was execellent. It is a very unique layout with firm fairwarys, interesting undulations in the fairways and greens, and forgiving rough. And it is very competitively priced. This will be my new "go to" course.

We played Saturday the 9th. The course is absolutely first class. Tee boxes, fairways and greens all come together to make for a very enjoyable round. I recommend this track to all skill levels. You'll see us here all lot more.

I finally got a chance to play this course and I loved it. Course is in amazing shape...greens, fairways and tee boxes were all awesome. Carts have an extremely convenient GPS system with shot distance tracking. Will definitely be back.

The course was great and the PAR 3’s were to say the least very challenging. Only thing that I can say would be a little better is that when we came in from front nine for a quick pit stop and grab a hot dog, the hot dogs were still warming up and would be another 30 minutes before ready. It was 1:30 when we had stopped. Other than that the course was top notch and service was excellent. Thank you for the game and we will be back. Also, thanks for the appreciation for the military service whether active duty or retired. Finally I do like that you will be offering a Thanksgiving plate for those that will be playing or just stopping by.

UPDATE as of 22 May 2020: This continues to be my go-to course. My five star review remains the same, but I thought an update was warranted post-COVID 19. In brief, this course has been super busy since the lockdown, and the staff has been extraordinary and the course conditions remain to be the best of any public course in the area. It’s also worth mentioning this is the most military friendly course I’ve found in the area. Hat tip to the whole staff: pro shop, cart crew, grounds crew, cart girls, starter, and ownership group. You all should be commended. Cheers! ORIGINAL REVIEW: This was my first time playing at Cypress Creek. I normally play at courses that have a slightly lower price point on GolfNow, but so glad I decided to pay the extra money (booked through course website). First and foremost, the course conditions rival or exceed any course in the area that I have played; this includes private course like River Hills. I only remember maybe one or two greens that weren’t in perfect condition, and all fairways and tee boxes were good to excellent. This course is somewhat challenging with a lot of water in play and greens require a deft touch with your approach shots. Green speeds were very quick the day I played, which added to challenge. Pace of play was fine, around 3:20 for 18 holes (would have been even faster, but I got held up a few times by group in front of me). All staff members I interacted with were extremely nice and accommodating. GPS carts were in great shape, and have two USB ports which is a great added bonus. If I had more time each month to play golf I would definitely consider a membership at Cypress Creek, membership fees are very reasonable for the area considering course conditions. I do wish they had a membership plan that included an annual flat cart fee, but like most courses around here they nickel and dime you with a cart fee every time you play as a member. I guess that’s standard for courses around here, but as a potential member it’s super annoying. Come on Cypress Creek Staff, be bold and come up with a flat annual cart plan :). In conclusion, previous quibble aside, I’m so happy I played here and will definitely be back regardless of cost. Highly recommend this course to all.

We enjoyed playing on Thursday at 7:52 and finishing in 3 hours. No holdups or being rushed. Conditions are better each week. Fairways are in great shape and some greens need a little more time to fill in.

I have always enjoyed playing the course and in my mind it's my home course. They revamped the course last year so the greens are still a little hard, also the back 9 greens run slightly faster. This change also made the course a little easier, but by all means bring extra balls if you shoot in the 90's or higher. Club selection is vital on most holes as there is always a bunker, water or natural hazard waiting for the over zealous golfer. No.14 is my favorite a beautiful par 5, reachable in two depending on your drive, then again the green is a beast, long, skinny and undulating. The carts have a great GPS system. Victor and company in the pro shop are a great group, so are the ladies in the clubhouse. All in all, anyone visiting me will play here and if you are in the area, give Cypess Creek a try, you won't be disappointed. Hopefully this review can get me a discount on a membership.

If you haven't played it, do it! It has always been a wonderful layout. Some great holes, some can be real beasts, especially when the winds blow. But hardly any weak holes. Now that I have moved up to white tees, it seems a lot easier. The last four (or five, if you count the Par 5 14th) holes can be round-wreckers. But you will not be bored. Some condition issues when it rains, but today was wonderful. Greens are perfect; fast, true, but very tough to read. All together, a fun, different type of course. Most of it doesn't even have houses on it, maybe only 4 holes. Enjoy. Tough, but fun. Only one complaint - make sure you book tee time on their website - I arrived without doing it, and they tried to charge me $65 or so, instead of the $39 advertised online. They refused to honor that, so I had to use my phone to stand in the pro shop and make a reservation. Stupid!

As the host of many golf tournaments around the Tampa Bay Area, it was a few of my better players who told me about Cypress Creek and how I would enjoy it. They were 100% correct. This is a very well-maintained Par 72 layout with many interesting or challenging holes. I played mostly blue tees at just over 6400 yards, but also teed up at a few well-placed black tee locations on a number of holes that stretch things out even further and bring some forced carries into the mix. The Par 5 14th hole immediately became one of my favorite holes in the Tampa Bay Area. This hole has a ton of character, surprising contours to the last 200 yards of so of fairway and a deep, elevated green that is a challenge with even a wedge on the approach shot. Conditions of the course on the afternoon that I visited were excellent. Not only were tees, fairways, bunkers and greens very good, but the care in the landscaping of many areas was very impressive. Employees welcomed me with open arms and I have every reason to come back for another round in the near future. For those who like a quick on/off the interstate when making a lengthy drive to play a course, Cypress Creek satisfies that as well as it is literally down the street at the first intersection when exiting I-75.

Layout and shape of turf was really a great surprise. Only thing is on 5 greens dropped a dime from fairway second shot and all landed w/in 12-15 feet of pin and son of a gun all bounced off. Fast greens are ok to deal with, but hard & fast means more care is needed. Either reduce cutting schedule OR water more OR both. Just played w/ buddies on 10/2/19 and course has totally lost at least 4 greens to blight,fungus,etc.. Also so inconsistent i all greens sanded but not watered to set top coating. Just bad playing set up now. would not recommend.

Golf course is great. Not true about the employees. Was told by bartender that since we didn't tip waitress, she will have management kick us out and not allow us to come back. There was a misunderstanding about the bill. Our guy paying the bill thought that tip was included already. We then tipped her $30 when we were told we didn't tip yet. He threat was so uncall for. We spend over $800 here between 10 guys in one day. We will b taking our business else where next time. Nice course though.

Absolutely the best value in a golf course in the East Tampa area. Course is in great shape and the greens truly challenge you to play your best golf or suffer the consequences. Warning: if you think you’re going to go low the first time you play this course, forget it. Only experience and your “A” game can get you low. Your luck will run out because every hole is a challenge. Since they don’t use Golf Now for tee times (only their own website or call for a tee time) they aren’t overbooked and jammed up like every other daily fee course in this area. Come for the golf, and prepare to be challenged and impressed with the best a public course in the Tampa area can offer.

Considering I live on the course and never played here, I figured I'd give it a try. $32 for 9 holes is usually too much and afterwards, turns out it wasn't worth it. Greens have sand across them all. It's a tough and well laid out course, just played on better for a lot cheaper.

Very well maintained course. Almost no traffic and was able to easily play under 4 hours - Truthfully, it is a steal. Watch out for the crocs. I saw 2. Yikes.

Course was in good shape but the only one open in the area so that made slow play...there was no drinking water on the course and we only saw the beverage cart one time during the round and that was on 11 so had to play the rest of the round in hot weather without anything to drink...if you do not have water on the course you should allow personal coolers
