Reviews of The Bath Golf Club

I am a member here and have been playing this year since the course first opened in early April. I can say that you won't find a more laid back, fun course in the area. The price, especially with a membership, is very good. The people who work the pro shop are genuinely nice and recognize you after a few rounds. The course has never been too crowded to the point where I can't just ask to play another 9 if I want to. The course itself is challenging, with some uphill greens that can be tough to approach. The grass is well maintained, without any crazy rough or areas that look like they have been forgotten about. Since late April they have been doing some work on the traps and I have a feeling they're going to look great once things dry out a little more. The back 9 holes are definitely a little bit different than the front, especially hole 11 which has a challenging rock face in the center of the hole that can stop you dead if you play from the white tees. However, I have been having a great time here and would highly recommend it to someone looking to have a nice, easygoing game.

Very nice club to play. I was traveling to Maine from NJ and didn’t have my clubs so I called and was told they had some loaner clubs (not the greatest clubs but they served the purpose) at no charge. And also the pull cart was no charge. The club has a decent layout. Pace of Play was average. Would definitely recommend. Afterwards I stopped at the Ship City Brew Pub for a sandwich and a couple beers. Excellent on both and reasonably priced. Overall a nice day.

Booking a tee time was extremely easy and the availability was far better than other local courses. Pro shop staff was extremely friendly and helpful as this was my first time playing at Bath CC. The course was in OK shape for this time of year (Mid-July) and I have seen far worse at other local courses. The fairways where hard and brown but the greens where in pristine shape!! I'm looking forward to my next round at Bath CC and I would recommend it to others!!!

We played under 3 hours after a day of rain! Greens were in great shape, but bunkers were saturated.
First on the course, other than a couple hundred migrating geese. Staff got the geese migrating again.
Outstanding wings on the deck after the round, served up by Long Reach Kitchen.

I would like to express my appreciation to your staff member on Tuesday morning with my family visiting from San Antonio. The course was in excellent shape. The Kitchen was great. Please keep them the food is great. Everyone are great even the grounds crew.
Tony Gomersall
Staff were courteous, greens were good , fairways needed some TLC and tees were terrible.
Back nine were being top
dressed but no notice of this on the website before booking. May have chosen another day.
Overall experience was a 6 out of 10.

I played as a single and they put me out on the back. No problem there but there was a real backup after I finished the back. Ended up paying for 18 but only playing 9. Terribly disappointing. I will try a different course next time. Conditions are average to below, rough was 6 in high and it was very wet.
Update: I played again in July 2022. I received a refund for the lost round. Management is really trying — 10 minutes between tee times and an accommodating group in front of us allowed my son and I to play 18 holes in 3.5 hours! The course is very dry due to no rain but the greens roll true and are in great shape. The course has character and presents both risk and reward on many holes. Much better this time, thank you to Sean!

I really enjoy playing at your Bath course. The course condition is very, very good, although the traps and tee boxes need attention, and it would be nice to have more than one ball washer on the course.
The pro shop people are excellent!
Kelly Desmond
Great time! Staff was super friendly and even said good morning as we were walking in from the parking lot. Course was in great shape. Really enjoyed it as it was my son’s first time playing. Thank you for a wonderful 9 holes!!

Great experience at the Bath Golf Club. The conditions on the course are delightful and improving every day. The bunkers (that I use frequently) are much, much better than last year. Thank you! The Pro Shop staff is friendly and helpful and drinks and meals at Long Reach Kitchens are fantastic. You must try the Roman Mules and Pull Pork Tacos!
Impressive and challanging play for a local course. Keep up the great work.

The Bath Golf Course is beautiful and situated far from the noise of highways and air traffic. One is more likely to hear the crowing of a rooster or the mooing of a cow on an adjacent farm. The new grounds superintendent is doing an excellent job, and the greens and fairways are much improved since last year. The relaxed (nonexistent) dress code is matched by the friendly environment created by the golfers themselves. No snooty "county club" mentality here! One of the best features is the Long Reach Kitchen and Catering, providing high quality food and beverage service both indoors and on an expansive open-air porch that overlooks the golf course on three sides.

The golfing experience was great. The food and service was great. The faucet for the sink in the men's room didn't work so I had to wash my hands behind the bar. The sink/faucet needs replacement. I have mentioned that fact numerous times but no action. It is a health hazard which if not resolved will mean I will not eat at LRK&C going forward.

From being able to book a tee time online, plenty of parking, a pro shop with plenty of product availability, we were very pleased! The course’s condition was great, challenging when needed , just a fun course! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!
Jeffrey Rogers
Played 18 hours...loved the layout of the course. Greens were great. Kept moving along at a good pace. Great day on a great course.
Peter Hamblin
Had a good time. Greens in very good shape, but fairways dried out. Because of last night’s rain, sand traps pretty much unplayable. Pro shop treatment was excellent.
David Driver
Love playing here, but we 'older' folks could use benches to sit on at the tee boxes.
Staff in club house and Long Reach Kitchen are fantastic!!
Food is outstanding.
Greens are in great shape, even in this heat!
Brian Sullivan
Course is playing better since they aerated the greens a few weeks ago. The fairways are also coming along. Players need to "chip in" and help out by fixiing their ballmarks on the green! Come on people this is not hard to do! The folks at Bath GC are working hard to get the course in its best shape! Do your part too!
David Perry
Great little track. Even though they had not had a lot of rain recently, the course and greens are well maintained.
Roger Rioux
Very playable course. Tee boxes are in rough shape but I understand, you need some rain. Greens are in terrific shape.
Nancy Garside
The golf course is in great shape, thanks for widening some of the fairways
and keeping the grass short of the fairways.
Is the pub area going to be open on Monday's
Doug Lashley
Just wanted to say an incredible level of improvements at the club and course and congratulations on that level of work. Very enjoyable oplay at a very reasonable cost. Keep up the good work.
Rising Strokes Golf
The course was in beautiful condition and the new management in the kitchen is outstanding! Both the food and service were amazing!!

Under extreme conditions the greens are superb! Also the flower beds are looking great!! The new superintendent has done a superb job. With minimum water and trying to conserve it, the grounds team has done a superb job. Also credit to the members for divot and ball mark control! I love what has happened behind 16th green.

Super friendly staff and charming and forgiving course. Had a delightful round of golf there and will definitely return.

I was a member here years ago and always loved the layout. I don't play much these days but I get a kick out of the negative reviews by unreasonable people. Current ownership seems to be taking the steps to not only restore it as a cornerstone of the community that it once was... but also taking the time to courteously reply to those who seem to think slow play and varying conditions is something that doesn't happen at most every course. Especially a public one. This course is a hidden gem and only getting better. Bring a relaxed vibe and enjoy. You won't be disappointed.
Staff Sportsplex
Nice fun old style New England Golf Course. Some Greens in tuff shape but late in the year so to be expected. Great length small greens. Helpful staff as well. Plan to be back.
Aaron Poach
Great track. Friendly but still challenging and interesting. They do a great job with maintenance and the staff, crew, and members/players have always been very welcoming and kind to an out of towner playing golf on vacation like myself. I love playing here when I’m in Maine!
Andrew Filderman
Nice course, well maintained, scenic, staff very friendly
Trent Hughes
Enjoyed the layout overall.
The condition is ok but not sure if it's worth the public price they are charging.
Chuck Brakeley
Great golf course with some beautiful and challenging holes.
And very friendly Pro Shop staff.

I had the opportunity to perform at the Desjardin Wedding in August of 2015. This venue is a great small room layout. They are accommodating to your vendor needs. The view is great. Decks, seperate bar and space for outdoor games with views from the main room make it a great space for a small wedding. Thank you for the support in makeing the Desjardin's wedding a memorable one.

Obvious needs:
Yardage markers in fairways
Ball washers
At least a minimum of care for the red and bald tees
Bradford Adler
The course conditions have improved immensely paticularly the green and the rough.
Lucky “Luckster”
The owners of this course must treat they're employees very well. This was the best experience I have ever had. Thank you !! Excellent course
Marcel Blouin
Always seems to be in great condition. Greens are fast but fair. Great place to play.

The new kitchen is excellent. Great upscale food selection and drinks.

Fantastic staff, delicious food, and lovely wrap porch to dine outside.
