Average playability And... Semi friendly pro shop staff, (SMILE MORE, engage more), please. Felt not that welcomed compared to other courses and I paid $75 in cab fare alone to get there but I did not let it discourage me. Rained lots but played through it. Then paid another $75 to get back to hotel! The club rentals were just ok and just way overpriced! Paid $86 extra CDN dollars for just some rentals and when it should have been more like $30 US dollars to rent these! Not even any balls included/offered like most other courses do! For this rate it was a let down and a shame actually. No on the course yardage markers or not visible at all makes it more guessing on exact yards to the flag stick! This to me is Mickey Mouse action. Sticking to 3 stars as the greens were nice enough and my server at very end was so nice and a saving grace to this round today. The restaurant was nicely set up and inviting. Nov 8/22.

I come play this course a few times a week. I absolutely love it. Everyone is super friendly. Course is always in great shape(I’m used to Texas golf and the dead grass) My only wish would be that the driving range would be grass. :)

Grass conditions are very good! Fairways are narrow so the course needs you to dial the tee shot precisely especially playing at gold tee (back tee). Practice range is available with mat when obstructed by the frost. It was worth the every penny and fun course. Also there is a beautiful view to Mt. Charleston when snowed. Only problem is that cart path because it has too many bumps and dirt roads. Make sure to drive carefully.

I've played this course several years ago and couldn't recall the layout of it so I made a tee time to try it out again. I will say that this course is average; nothing too spectacular about it, and nothing negative about it. I did happen to play in the middle of the afternoon when the temps hit ~103-105 degrees, and unfortunately, there were no drink carts in sight, nor did I see water stations on the course. For this, I'd say it was unacceptable. I did however plan for this and brought a cooler full of water, Gatorade, and snacks. But for anyone expecting the services on the course, this would've been tragic. If you haven't played this course, you definitely have to try it at least once...I mean why not? FYI, their rates are very reasonable.

I give the course layout 5 Stars! I give the service staff 5 Stars as well. The practice Range gets a 3 Star rating because of the mats. You have limited space so I understand that reason. The golf course is a wonderful challenge for the best golfers. If you are a high handicap or don't have one then you're in for a long day. The fairways are narrow and most of them will put lots of pressure on your second shot if you miss. Accuracy off the tee is crucial here more so than other courses. The greens run true and roll perfect. They are soft and receptive. Why doesn't everyone fix their ball marks?? Enjoy this course. Fun and challenging all 18 holes! Good luck breaking 90!

Editing my previous review that was admittedly made out of frustration of being denied a raincheck on a particularly slow day of play. Ruston the head pro reached out and graciously offered to make good on my request. We'll be back playing our local course - still wish they would add laser reflectors to the pins....

Wife and I had an excellent time at this golf course. Staff were attentive and friendly. Course actually played fast; surprised that we did not catch anyone nor anyone behind us. We finished in 4 hours. Greens were super fast. Wow. Also if you do slice or pull, then have fun on the gravelled areas. Lots of water and bunkers... so can play challenging. Only 3 the boxes but worth it. Love the nick names on each hole. We always look forward to see what the next one holds. Will definitely be back. Surprised that it was not busy, considering the amount of players at the driving range.

I like this place alot. A little rough around the edges but overall a very nice course. My two biggest negatives: need new driving range balls and greens need to be cut shorter(they are very nice and run true but need to be faster and run out more. Overall, from tee to Green the course is really good. Take a rock club if u spray the ball.

The staff is nice, and the course has some scenic holes. Alas, the greens are spongy, so footprints linger and the ball bounces as it rolls. A few tee boxes are dead and hard to hit from, many fairways are full of dead spots, the grass overall is not “golf” quality- it’s more thick and hard, and the driving range balls are almost bald and all over the 9th and 18th fairways. The layout is not too challenging but not simple. Lots of old folks hopping out in their personal carts and apartments and condos lining every hole.

Signed up for driving range. Range has new mats. Members said range open to grass hitting Fri-Sun. Haven't played in a couple years due to injuries so needed to get into the swing of things. So far everyone has been courteous.

It's an absolutely great course not to expensive was $45 for a 10 am tee time on a Friday, I've always loved playing this course, has a low medium range of difficulty, but can be hard if you play the back tees, lots of bunkers. Overall really fun to play

The driving range is really close to 2 holes and lots of stray/broken balls on the course when we started. Narrow and unforgiving rough (rock and dirt) sum up my overall feeling. The group behind us cut in front of us on the back nine which made play even slower. Greens were fairly consistent and fairways played nice.

Beautiful course, great staff.. Good food.. I have 4 stars because they schedule T times to close together, i felt rushed on the front 9. Onto the back 9 was more relaxed. Ill be back not to many par 72 courses in vegas.

I love this course. Been playing it for over 16 years! I chipped it in for birdie from the sand on the par 5 that shoots down Washburn. And I've lipped the cup for hole in one on the 8th hole par 3! Great course

Fairways are in great shape,though pretty narrow. Waste areas are gravel - you stand a good chance of getting club damage. For the green fees they charge, you'd think they could maintain the cart paths; evidently not. The paths are in terrible shape and your back will feel the heaving pavement.

This is a great course with friendly staff in all areas. I don't understand the reason for the negative reviews I play this course at least twice a month and 90% of the time the pace of play is fast and the course is in GREAT shape. Like all courses they do have scheduled maintenance but show me a course that doesn't. Jeez.

Haven't played here in probably 15 years. I originally planned on playing at Paiute but the staff was very rude at the check in so I left and gave painted desert a call. The guy who answered the phone couldn't have been nicer and told me to come over and he could get me right out. They paired me up with another single and we finished in around 3 hours. The course was much better than I expected. Greens were in great shape as was the rest of the course. Looking forward to playing at painted again soon.

Golf club is nice not a lot of people in the restaurant I don't understand why maybe advertising... across the street is cracked eggs so maybe people go there for breakfast and lunch.... it would be nice to see more people eating ,putting green is nice store is very small. maybe turn the racquetball court into a yoga studio .... clean but just needs more people in it

This is my second visit to the club this year as this is not my primary residence. The club is very clean, and everyone is gracious and informative. I used the driving range and practice putting green. The course is in excellent condition.

Our nonprofit organization held a fundraising tournament here. The 56 golfers who came had great things to say about the beautiful condition of the course and helpful staff. Ryan Darland, the golf pro, and Tracy, who directs food & beverage, were extraordinarily accommodating, and went to great lengths to ensure things went smoothly for our guests. They clearly care about giving back to their community, and lead an incredible staff of hard-working, kind professionals. We are definitely doing another tournament here next year!

I went to practice and the range is deplorable from the mats to the balls. No dimples, sliced and with gouges. This will probably be the last time I visit the range. On a positive note the practice green is great.

I actually have lived in the painted desert community for about 10 years my mother owns a home there.. Its a very nice and quiet neighborhood with security guards at the gates so very safe and with several s gates, i believe 7 in all it has everything from apartment, condos, town homes , middle class single family homes and last multi million dollar homes..

Good resident's rate. $30 . Started on back 9 to avoid a tournament and finished in 4 hours flat. Decent shape. Greens rolled well for winter grass.

I see a lot of people complaining about delays on here (Maybe they're playing Sat Morn?). Every starter we've dealt with gets us out 5-10 mins early. This course was in good (not perfect, but good) shape, and during the week days is usually pretty darn open. Specially when you go out between noon and 2pm. Good rates too. This is more of a locals course, so you wont see a crazy amount of visitor traffic.

What a great place, staff was attentive, the rates are reasonable, and the layout is challenging. I’ve played it more than three times over the past year and the greens and fairways are always in immaculate condition. I can’t wait to play it again.

There was a singer there last night. His show was terrific. The food they served sucked. I am glad I went for the show and not the food. The singer's name was John Windsor. I went with some great friends. A good time was had by all.

Course ok. Service ok++. My biggest gripe is with sand traps (I hit too many). Not enough sand and only one or possibly two rakes per trap. And the bunkers are very big. This alone slows play way down.

Painted Desert looks like a very easy course to play but it was so hard that I couldn't find a ball that I or my playing partner saw land. But I will be back to play again and still enjoy it

Always nice helpfull staff and the course is a fun track not real hard but a couple holes are long par 4's. If you are not straight off the tee be prepared to hit off the rocky dirt
