This a great public course. The course has an intricately intertwined maze of holes going back and forth between a series of hills and ponds that ultimately tests about every club in your bag and every type of shot that you can make. They do a great job to keep a nice carpet of playable green grass on all of the fairways despite the lower January and February temperatures. The greens are in very good shape and your putts roll smooth and fast. Most of the greens have multiple contours which definitely challenge even the best of putters to choose a proper line for their putts. The pace of play was wonderful when we played and we finished in just under 3 Hours

Really nice public course. Good layout favoring straight hitters. In other words, tight fairways and really deep bunkers. Think St Andrew's bunkers.

Great little course that is a 10-15 minute ride off of the strip. If you don’t feel like paying an arm and a leg to play at one of the strip resorts, pay the money to play here. Very scenic course with beautiful mountainous back-drop and very diverse course design. Great service and a nice club house to grab some grub or drinks afterward. I would highly recommend!

Not a very long course but it is tight and the greens have alot of slope. Irons off the tee. Course was in great condition 10/10 would recommend.

Play this course while it's still here! Bunkers are mud ( free drop ) and greens are sloooow but other than that great shape.. soon to be tore down for low income housing.. worth the $ to play!

5/28/22 update: Charles and Anne had us back out on the course. The course is in really good shape from tee to green. A few brown spots on few greens but nothing like last year and did not affect the play at all! Staff had mentioned that they are still working on the greens but to me they were in great shape! We’ll definitely play here again. 5/1/21. First time playing the course and paid full non-resident rate as expected. But the greens were in horrible shape. ALL GREENS were punched recently and have some sort of infected greens. We were not told of greens conditions neither online or at the pro shop when we checked in. Just horrible experience overall.

We did it last minute to kill sometime at the driving range. So we had to rent are the clubs. When I went for the rental the guy at the counter said it was $70 to rent, I said ok. He said no 7 0 like I didn't get it the first time. We were dressed nice but he acted like I wasn't able to afford it. When I said ok he was shocked. Other than that the girl we got the golf balls from was very nice but I will say the driving range was ok not as nice as some other ones we've been to but we were just in the area and needed to kill some time. There was no reason we should have been treated like that. Maybe because I'm a girl. Idk.

One of the most challengeing public courses I've played the guys were great got us out right away maybe 15 minute wait .course itself is laid out were you need almost all 14 clubs in your bag at some point.the groundskeepers have this course impeccable an hole an pin locations were tough.I will definitely play this course again an will recommend to my fellow golfing buddies to play a round or two here

I like it it's not to crowded ,they have a driving range ,monthly thing .40.00 all the balls you want a month...unless you like hitting the driving range it's a good deal cause a big basket is 9 to 12 dollars.....

Second time I've golfed here. Loved it both times. Challenging course. 10/15 minutes from the strip. Staff is friendly and helpful I highly recommend golfing here.

This is where me and the boys get together to hit a couple of balls at the driving range and decompress after a long work week. Not usually crowded, it's nice to come in and get a section to ourselves and relax. It's not the most world class facility, but it's cheap and the snack bar is easily accessible from anywhere on the driving range. Nice times!

Extremely courteous staff and they really cater to the out-of-town folks. The course was great for March and offered decent challenges. It is near a highway and a rougher part of town but the course is on par.

This was a great public course. The greens are hard and fast and the course is short and narrow. They did have some problems with groups as there was a group of 7 playing in front of us and slowed things down a bit. Staff was very friendly

Was in town and never played at this course. Overall solid value. Although they Jack up the price another $20 giving you a gift card to force it being used on the grounds. Clubhouse and facilities old and not updated. Clubhouse check in was fine. Starter outside very helpful. Course overall in good condition. Greens not so much. They have lost several. The biggest joke is that for the practice mats at range, they don’t provide the rubber tees that go under the mat. The girl said those are for purchase back in the clubhouse. I fella next to me let me borrow his. Just a joke. Never ever had to buy the practice tee. I’m pretty sure they can afford those. Overall the course was fine. Enjoyed my playing partners

Fantastic course with great views! For a very affordable price! The course was in amazing condition here at the end of September. I played on a Tuesday mid morning and was able to get off as a single. Fast pace. Friendly marshals. Fun narrow fairways but not too challenging. It was Easy to ride share from the strip here, maybe 15min. The deal includes 18w cart and range balls plus lunch!

Older City owned course. The course is well laid out, some water on course that runs parallel to holes. We played on a Saturday afternoon in a little over 4 hours which is good, but felt like tee times were to close together.

Nice course except they aerated the greens and all they wanted to discount was $20 per person even if the course was in perfect shape is not worth $110.00 per round. There are 20+ courses in Vegas that can be played that are as good for less. Then the service in the lounge was sub par. The quality of the did was ok for the price..

This is a nice, yet very challenging course. The fairways are narrow and the greens we're fast. The staff is by far the friendliest I've met in any course. The flow was steady and smooth. But be warned, this is a challenging course, I would definitely play here again. Tried the food at the clubhouse, great flavor and great service. A great place to eat and play.

This place was awesome! I grew up just down the street from here when I was a kid and seen this place my whole life. Never golf did but I'm glad I did! The greens were really nice and the staff was amazing! Great course great staff and great food! What more can you ask for! O and the drink cart girls were really cute!

A really, really fun course. If you like playing well-designed courses, you will have fun here. The golf and restaurant staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. If you are in town on business and want to play somewhere fun I would go here. They had great early morning times and it even comes with a free lunch which is pretty valuable given how they rip you off on food pricing at the casinos.

Course was in good condition for the time of year, still early. The staff was incredibly friendly. For the price of a round ($89 which includes a full lunch) and only 20 minutes from the strip, hard to beat the value. PS This is definitely a course for accuracy, not power and distance.

Played last summer time. It was hot day. Too hot to play golf but we finished 18 holes. Whole my group like the course. Very good condition. Greens were fast. A bit hard fairway but it's hot summer day in desert. Very friendly staff.

I had the privilege of golfing here on 6 July 2017. This course was a good value for the money in terms of condition, amenities and staff friendliness. I was struggling to keep the ball in the fairway and I was rightfully punished. The course is narrow, but it is VERY fair. This meant, for me, putting the stupid driver away and teeing off with irons instead. The greens were in decent shape and I found no crazy unusual breaks or lumps, bumps or bare spots. I was happy with my round, happy with the service, happy with the condition, and I would definitely consider playing here again.

Flew in from Arizona and decided to play here, the people here were so helpful and the clubs that I rented out were top of the line Callaways. Cart girl was on top of her game all day. Only complaint was that there wasn't a ranger out there making sure people were at pace with the group in front of them but I still had a good time!

Nice course. Very challenging if you can't hit straight. Nice but narrow fairways, deep rough, including some natural desert areas. Fairway traps are hard as concrete. Green bunkers are in between hard and soft. Green are great landing targets, some especially soft, but are still fast. Beware of pro shop closing before 3pm including the snack bar. Driving range available late.

Really enjoyed my time in the morning here, 6/15/18, played a quick nine, scared par, on a very tight course where accuracy counts more than length, the shots into the greens add a very nice touch of difficulty because of all the undulations, etc. This is truly one of the most well thought out golf courses I have experienced; it asks a little from all parts of your game, except driver, which I only needed on #9 against the wind and played a low sort of draw there which careened up the fairway nicely. The consistency of the sand, which i experienced only once on the final greenside bunker (9) was beautifully textured, just the right amount to be testing without overly penal. The course may play short from the whites, but the approach shots are no less daunting, I assure you. The greens are fast and true and tough. No complaints whatsoever here. I will be back for another nine soon. A very rewarding morning of golf.

First time playing this track, was in very good condition. Tested all your shot making abilities at all levels as fairways were tight enough to cause issues and as long as you didnt put it in the water or on the street you could play the ball. Greens were playable and in good condition. There was light rain all morning for basically the entire round but the was very little water pooling. Be happy to play this track again when I am back Vegas area.

Played on Thanksgiving day. First out, greens were in great shape. The starter was great. Asked if I needed any range balls or get out on the course.. Played it in 2 hours. The scenes of downtown Las Vegas is great from most holes. I would definitely come back.

Played this course in the beginning of November. Course was in good shape although the practice greens do not prepare you for the variations greens speeds on the course. Some were fast others were slow. Wasn't terribly long but the rolling fairways, strategically placed bunkers and undulating greens make it a challenge to score. Only major complaint was the lack of a course Marshall. My score went south as soon as we started pushing the group ahead of us who had two players that were clearly beginners. Rather than picking up their ball after hacking at it 4 or 5 times on the fairway they would play the hole out to it's entirety for +8. A little course etiquette would have been nice. Also needed a shower and the facilities weren't working. Oh well.

Best deal on golf in town! Range open till 10pm most nights, except Monday and Tues (I think). Love that. Thank you! Plus the tee off mats have shelter from hot sun. And heaters for cold winter nights too. Thanks for everything !

As avid Las Vegas golfers my wife Roxanne and I play all over Clark County. We hadn't play at Desert Pines for many years because we didn't like the previous owner. We played yesterday with our good friend and my co-author of The Bogey Golfer Handbook, Jon Skaggs, PGA. Boy what a pleasure it was to play there again yesterday. We forgot what a great course it was and it was in tremendous shape. Talk about some local deals!! Check this out. After 12 rates $40 weekday and $45 weekend $55 and $59 for morning rates but all include LUNCH. What a deal. BTW the restaurant is great!

Great course close to downtown Las Vegas. Friendly staff, good condition overall. Some fairways are quite narrow, precise play is essential. They offered electric "wake boards" to substitute the regular cart at a surcharge - an experience I am glad to have made (now I know I will definitely not buy one for my own use). No water bottles or coolers on these boards, no service cart on the course, so could only buy after having finished 9 holes. 3 bucks for a bottle of water appeared hefty, but our special rate greens fee compensated this by far. Will play there again, when in town next time.

Course played very fast, done in less than 4 hours! The fairways are dry grass painted green. The greens were smooth and rolled nicely despite the poana. It was a good value for the cost.

Having little experience with golfing, we tried the driving range. The employees were helpful and even explained what each club is designed for. The only thing we paid for to use the driving range was the golf balls. $10 for about 100 balls. I thought it was worth it

I don't know when they changed management, but I played there April 16th 2015. The course was in great shape. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. The only problem I had with this course is that it didn't play long at all. Anyone with a drive of 290+ and decent short game should score low 70s if not in the 60s EASILY.

Had one of the most pleasurable experiences at this golf club. The staff from the time we pulled up til we left , were courteous, helpful, and made us feel like we were VIP's. The course itself was in great condition - tee boxes- fairways to greens. Will be back.

My friends and I played four days of golf in Las Vegas. Our last day was March 17, 2019. Desert Pines had the nicest staff, best food and the course was in great condition. Painted Desert Golf Course was also one of the courses we played. The starter did a great job. The staff in the pro shop were not friendly.

Management is a joke, especially the guy in the pro shop, very snotty and condescending. The Courses overall condition is not great at all. Over watering and the lack of mowing makes you wonder why you pay what you pay to play the course. This is like most municipal courses in Vegas, under maintenance and over priced.

My wife and I visit Las Vegas annually for her birthday (I indulge her gambling, she indulges my golf). This year we played Desert Pines for a second time. We had a great round of golf. It was a beautiful day in the low 70's the staff were friendly and helpful and we were paired with a local golfer who made a fantastic unofficial host (Thanks Ken). The pro let me "beat him" on a par 3 which enable us to pick up some nice bargains in the pro shop after the round. The course was in very good shape, very tight with very, very, challenging greens. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and are looking forward to returning next year.

Very nice Pete Dye course. Short but need to be accurate with some narrow fairways and lots of water, especially on front nine. Course is well manicured, green speeds are medium, and staff is friendly.

Nice enough golf course design and the staff and practice facilities are very good but unfortunately the greens were in very poor condition at the time of writing this review.....they are called Green Fees for a reason and at 100 dollars even on a Sunday I was very dissatisfied with the greens....it took the skill out of putting. 40 dollars for club rental was reasonable.

Worth the price I played on the Golf Now App, (30) bucks any higher on the money line and the star rating would go down. I've golfed for 25 years now, and for the money, you can't beat it. Challenging course so you better stay straight!

Great course to play! I live here in Las Vegas and have play other courses but Desert Pines is my favorite. The course is well taken care of and beautiful. The course is a little challenging for a beginner like myself but this made it a lot more fun to play. The personal are very attentive to your needs and always with a sincere smile to go with it. Had lunch in the clubhouse after a round of golf and the food was fantastic! Big two thumbs up !!

Nice and convenient driving range. It's my go to spot for tweaking my game. I've never had any issues with their facilities. Green fees are a lil pricey. But it's worth the price for sure. Good food as well!

The Driving range has no equal! on the bottom range there are mister's to keep you cool and the balls appear like magic on your tee after you've hit a ball, VERY COOL! The course was a little short for my liking. but you can't expect anything much larger in the heart of Vegas which brings up another point the view's of the strip and mountains surrounding the course were AMAZING! A lot of Bunkers, Water and Narrow Fairways throughout which makes it all seem a bit challenging, but the reality is the placement of it all didn't really cause many problems. Basically LOOKS GREAT, and PLAYS GREAT Too!!! Can't really beat the price$ either. When or if I make my way back to Vegas someday I plan on playing again. BTW, the staff was extremely helpful and certainly catered to every need. Thanks Desert Pines for a Great Golf Outing. GO MIZZOU!!!

Desert pines is challenging but fun for sure. A lot of water so bring some extra balls! Prices are fair and the Arcis players club they have is a nice feature. Staff are all very friendly and helpful.

Challenging course. Can you believe this is in the middle of Las Vegas? Your time on this course will quickly help you forget the worries of your day. Amazing staff. They have multiple beverage girls, fully stocked bar and restaurant till 3. I wish the Range master was out more. Other than that, awesome course.

Beautiful 18 hole golf course where you least expect it. Just a stone's throw from the historic Mormon fort... Where Las Vegas began! Challenging holes... Great staff... Great golf carts, awsome staff! Two story putting range... Inexpensive to get a bucket of balls and putt to your hearts content! Did I mention the staff!!!! Beautifully kept in North las vegas... Majestic pines and very green greens! Don't miss this course! And bring a friend!

I really liked this course and surprised that it is rated below royal links which was ok. Having played all three in april 2014 I found this extremely good value. for me this rated only just below bali hi...its an interesting track in excellent condition in April and very tight in places so you have to be acurate....the holes are all nicely contoured...plenty of water to make life interesting.

Beautiful course- greens a little beat up. Extremely tight fairways so be prepared - miss fairway - punishes you hard. Bunkers with 6 feet lips in middle of fairway - have to lay up.

The very Swanky here this is the nice one of Henderson I can't recommend a better place to play golf all the Rings are just great well thought-out course well-designed going to have to earn your 72 to get through this one but it's well worth spending the time shut a 72 and a 77 got to get rid of that bad backswing

The grass on the fairway is yellow and obviously lacking in water, but the grass on the fairway is well maintained. The fairway is narrow, the design is relatively cramped, the green maintenance is general, and the speed is slow. It's okay to end up as a practice. Tourists are not recommended to play.
