Fist time at this course, was a pleasant surprise! Fall golf in Connecticut is great in general, but this course was a treat. Very large greens, a classic century old layout and nicely done recent renovation. Head Pro Ralph Salito, formerly of Danbury’s Richter Park, was great to chat with before teeing off. If you plan to walk, know you’re limits, it’s a tough walk if you’re not in reasonable shape!

Big fan of this course. It plays a little short but I don't hit it very long so not a problem. Greens are in great shape and fun to play. Pace can be slow (2.5hrs for 9 on a Monday afternoon) especially when following the weekday leagues but I suppose that can be a problem anywhere. Greens fees are reasonable. Practice area is not bad either. Haven't had the food. Definitely recommend.

Tee boxes are decent, fairways are in great shape, the course layout is really well thought through. The greens are all undulating heavily, many with multiple tiers and ridges. Don't be surprised to hit a par 3 in one and have a 3 or 4 put.

First time today - wet soggy, no carts weather - and absolutely loved it. Challenging course and walk - undulations everywhere. Greens are massive, rolling, beautifully maintained and quick. Fairways are wide / course plays longer than scorecard. Three over 400 yard 4s on front; and the hardest trio of long par 3s I've ever seen on one nine on the back. Been wanting to play Keney a long time - it exceeded my expectations.

First time playing this course. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Was a very old style course, lot of interesting holes. Greens had just been aerated so the greens were a tad slow, but when these greens come back they are going to be tough. Very large and undulating. And you can't beat the price for a municipal course....

Corse is in pretty good shape considering the heat and lack out water this summer. Greens are enormous but challenging with lots of undulations. Need to be fairly accurate hitting into greens to score well. A hidden gem.

The course was in superb shape--tees, fairways, bunkers, and greens. The staff and grounds crew are friendly and take great pride in their work. This is a gently rolling layout with lots of mature trees lining the fairway. The best public course in the state, with a great restaurant.

6/2/22. Course is in nice shape. Carts arevery fussy. Ours kept cutting out, telling us we were in a restricted area while we were on the cart path! Very annoying. All over the course, the cart kept changing speed - often for no identifiable reason. Next time I'll walk.

Very nice course but not very forgiving its an old course so fairways and green are natural. Lots of hills and valleys and greens are very big and not easy to putt. High handicapers it will be a long day.

Great course and reasonable rates. There is a great patio where you can get cold beverage and food with a beautiful during and friendly service. They are still dealing with the heavy rain, which impacts play and eliminates carts. Still was a great day.

Decided to give this course a go after reading some great reviews about it but was quite disappointed. The large amount of rain we have gotten has cleared impacted just about every single hole. Large chunks of fairway and rough on each hole is either brown grass or dirt. On the edge of every green they have plastic trim that is sticking out of the ground (something I’ve never seen before on any course)! If your putting from the fringe it will definitely impact the ball! The Pros - nice greens with good slope and difficulty. Par 3 were enjoyable. Overall - $61 for non resident is very over priced for the condition it is currently in.

We went to The Tavern with a bunch of friends. 8 in total. Manager opened tavern early for our brunch. Drinks were great and reasonable. Bloody Marys and Seabreeze. Food was excellent. All breakfasts/lunches came out at the same time. We had Tavern eggs Benedict which were very good. Everyone commented on how reasonable the bills were and how good everything was. Waitress was dynamite. We had a fabulous time!! Thanks Kenny Tavern!!

I was pleasantly surprised. Last time I played here was about 12-13 years ago. I’ve heard that it was beat up, in bad shape, but new management was trying to restore it. Greens were rolling smooth, grass was cut and trimmed all around. Really impressed with the conditions and I’ll definitely be back for more.

The course was recently redone and is in very good shape. The most challenging part is the greens. Many are multiple level with some severe undulations leading to some very interesting putts. The course is tough to play in the spring as it does not drain well at all and has many wet spots. The course has tried to improve drainage, but it seems like it is a lost effort as much of the soil appears to be clay-like.

Keney Park is historical, and has survived through many cultural changes. It's a beautiful gem. I was born in the 70s and have witness what it took to become what it is today. I'm no golf lover, but some of my family and friends enjoy golfing here. I prefer biking through this beautiful forest that is like home to me. I have passed my affection on to my son who now enjoys biking through here as well.

1st time playing the course and I’ve previously read it was “#1 public course in CT”. While it’s a solid track I would disagree with being best in CT. Recent rains have certainly effected the course and overall difficulty is well above average. They do provide a nice discount for military/veterans which is appreciated.

If you knew what this place used to be, you wouldn't even recognize it now. Whoever came up with the idea to bring this course back to life should be commended. Excellent tee boxes, fairways, and greens. Great old school tight track with challenging greens. Tavern on premises has excellent food backed by excellent service. Definitely a hidden gem for now. I would highly recommend this course and I will definitely be back.

Keney Park is a lovely, classic course. The architect, Devereaux Emmitt used lots of "template holes"; you get to play versions of great holes from Scotland and elsewhere. Well worth it.

First time for me here. So, tee boxes...great. Fairways...great (for the ones I hit). Greens...true but treacherous. Golf carts...wish I had my own. The carts here are GOVERNERED. hit your ball(s) near the cart paths and you won't have a problem.

Course is beautiful! Hard to believe it's so close to hartford. Course plays short but the greens are challenging to make up for it. It is a incredibly unique layout. The newly updated tavern and patio are beautiful and reasonably priced. Can wait to go back!

Played Keney Park twice this year, so far. Great course, excellent tee boxes, fairways and greens. Enough challenge for any player. The GPS golf carts really make it a nice experience. Love the new club house. The city has spend a lot of resources updating this course the last couple of years and done a good job of involving community groups. They have all done a great job!

Great place to hold an event. Food was plentiful and tasty. One of the best macaroni salads I've ever had and that's not an easy side dish to make memorable. The grilled chicken was also above par (pun intended) - juicy meat, crispy skin, good barbecue sauce. Wait staff was attentive. Golf course well manicured. I can't give you a difficulty rating as one of our group shot a 60 - A PGA member's great day, and another group participant won a trophy for a shot that resemble a new players golf lesson. I'm sure the difficulty level can easily be found on their website or the web.

Great renovation, greens are immaculate, as are the bunkers with vintage rakes. Fairways are coming in nicely. Not an overly long course but plays longer than the yardage. Greens are huge and undulating, getting close to pins in the correct areas is vital for scoring well. Gem of a course, will definitely back!

With Yale as my home course I can still say today's round was truly and enjoyable day of golf. Except for a little bare spot issues and off the beaten path wear, the whole course was visually stunning, challenging layout and very very good golf. Amazed this is a public track. Keep it up Hartford. I wished I lived closer.

This was a surprisingly fun park to play. The area surrounding the park might give some anxiety, but we had no incidents. There was a few spots of dumped trash, tires tv's etc. My group and I had an excellent round, and look forward to returning.

Compared to the pre-remodeled course, it's worlds apart. The course is in fantastic condition, particularly the greens. Layout is one of the better in the state, but they are a little limited on the course length. The greens are quite large and the fairways are pretty generous for the most part. One of the best courses in the state for the price.

This is a solid course. Above average condition, but quirky layout. Very fast greens for muny, but not CC fast or florida/SC fast18 is a par 3 which is annoying. If they flipped the front with the back it would teater on 5 stars or if it was 50 bucks over 60! Happy days!

This course is a developing diamond! At first glance it appears to be a rough, overrated fancy designer track. The fairways and side slopes need maturing, but once you get your teeth into it, you quickly realize it's a masterful test of golf. You MUST pay attention throughout, because the slopes, bunkers and hazards are brilliantly placed. It can be visually intimidating, but also surprisingly satisfying. I have NEVER seen or played greens so large, consistent and well conditioned in my life! I was extremely satisfied to play not only one of the best but also one of the proudest rounds of my life on this course!

It's holding up its 2nd year under new management. The opening of the restaurant is a huge plus. Lots of rain the last couple of weeks exposed drainage issues, but has kept the grass growing.

The most amazing transition in golf course design and maintenance. This course was barely playable four years ago, but a two year shutdown and rebuild has turned it into an interesting and challenging 18 holes. The revamped clubhouse, with a brand new kitchen about to open, is beautiful. If they get a good chef, this may become one of the best eating venues in Connecticut.

I've never been to the golf course but i always go to the side that has the pond house.. it's ok not very clean, but I enjoy feeding the fish and birds.. The kids can play on the playscape and there's a swimming pool as well. It's gets rowdy at times it's best to go Early morning.. Fishing can be done here.. I caught a catfish once..

Keney Park is one of my favorite courses in the area! The layout is interesting, laid out in a classic style, in synch with the natural contours, having a wide variety of holes requiring a combination of accuracy, length and shot placement. Their signature greens are amazing, large and well kept with multiple levels and cavernous traps. A new clubhouse with a great tavern is the icing on the cake.

Second time my wife and I and I have eaten here. The food is AMAZING (RUN BY DISH Restaurant Group from Hartford)! The GM, Amanda, is truly marvelous, and the inside bar/restaurant is very nice and the patio terraces (huge- 3 of them) are PERFECT for dining al fresco with picturesque views of the 9th and 1st holes. A true gwm.of Hartford/Windsor!!!

I love Keney Park. It's so big, woodsy and filled with wildlife. You can spend a week exploring the park. It's like a state park, but you're still in Hartford. There's also a pool, some baseball fields if you play little league, cricket fields and a golf course. It does not appear that the golf course management company has any idea what they're doing, so hopefully they get replaced soon. There are geologically significant sand dunes to boot.
