It has been exactly one year this November since I started my golfing journey at the Des Moines Driving Range. With Top Tracer technology and the best golf coach in town, I have gradually gaining distance hitting my driver from 160 yards to 240 yards. I am a senior (over 60 years of age), and never thought of hitting over 200 yards on my very first year. Thank you Mark for the lesson! Also the people that I have met at range are friendly, nice and very helpful, I learned a lot from just watching the many good golfers that were out there. I'd like to give a big shout-out to the owner of the DSM driving range for having such a friendly staff and for creating the environment for a new golfer like me to enjoy the process of learning the game. Looking forward to start all over again in the Spring! Again thank you very much Mark!

Love the new top tracer capability. The long drive app is really cool. The practice app shows so much detail on your swing. Mark is so helpful and informative. The great thing is the new top tracer app is free to use.

I have hit balls at this driving range for years and always enjoyed it. Now they have added top tracer technology, so you can install an app on your phone and track your golf shots and distances on the app. It’s very cool and fun. The big plus is that there is no additional charge to do this. I paid $8 for a large bucket of balls (around 50 balls I think), and tracked all shots with distances etc on my phone. I am impressed with the simple implementation of great technology at a great price. There are a limited number of spots to do this but it is well worth it.

The amount of progress I've made with Mark over the course of our lesson series has blown me away. He has greatly simplified the mechanics of my swing and it has paid off in a big way. Can't recommend him enough, especially to newer golfers like myself.

It was decent it's been at that location forever so you can tell it's a little age but it is just a place to go hit golf balls so it works for what you needed to and it's actually very very reasonable you can have a good time there for less than $10 if you need to practice your swinging go check it out the guy running the front was nice no complaints

This is a great place to practice your driving. The owner and his son are very welcoming and knowledgeable about the game. They are constantly adding upgrades to improve the place. Prices are very reasonable. They also have a putting area beside the clubhouse. I look forward to future visits.

It's a nice, big, outdoor driving range. You can stay in the shade or be out in the sun. Active with adults and kids, many of them taking lessons. Some stalls have electronic equipment ( I don't know anything about)...pretty fancy!

I highly recommend the DSM Driving Range. Mark is a fantastic teacher for golfers of any skill level and he simply loves to grow the game of golf. He is great with skilled individuals looking for a tune up or beginners who have barely touched a club. Do you slice the ball? Go see mark, because I don’t think he’s ever had a student leave their first lesson without hitting it straight or a draw. The DSM Driving Range has also put money back into the facilities by always rotating in new balls in the baskets and have recently installed (as of spring 2022) new LED lighting for a late evening range session and Top Tracer Technology. The Top Tracer is free to use and all you have to do is download the app and hit in one of the tracer spots if available. The Top Tracer is a game changer when it comes to practicing. I use the practice setting on the Top Tracer app to track my yardages and dispersion of each iron and each range session. There isn’t a reason to go anywhere else!

For better golfers, Mark has an all grass range and high quality Titleist and TaylorMade practice balls. Reasonably priced, super-friendly staff and a variety of targets make this range the best in Des Moines metro area! Late June 2022 edit: Top Tracer technology on a grass range with normal golf balls just improves an already great driving range.

Fantastic range as well as a putting and chipping greens. Owned and staffed by not just pro's, but local legends. Pricing is more than reasonable access the board. Be sure to checkout their website for more details regarding lessons, fees, etc.

I got there, and inside is a lovely selection of second hand clubs, a few beverage coolers and a kind man behind the counter. 2 waters, two bags of tees and 1 XL bucket. $15 The field is... okay. Theres some long seeded grass out there in patches so it looks abit, gauche? But I'm driving so it is irrelevant. They have a lovely manicured chipping green and separate putting green! Amendment: deeper on into the season (2 months later) the fields are all manicured and trimmed. The owner is out there giving free advice, which is great as he is a lauded semiretired professional instructor.

This is an amazing place to hit golf balls and work on your game. The shade canopy is a luxury that most driving ranges don't have. The range is always well maintained and Mark offers amazing instructions. He is one of the best instructors around and has improved my game tremendously.

In my mid 40's - haven't golfed much since high school... after a couple outings I realized practice wasn't going to be enough, as I'd picked up too many horrible habits along the way. One 30 minute lesson with Mark peeled about 25 strokes off my game. WELL WORTH THE $50!!!!! Thanks, Mark - you helped me more than ever. Super kind, and fun group of guys here. Highly recommend a visit.

Nice place, staff is great, and peaceful. Went last month and got some tips for about 10 minutes from the instructor while using the driver, as I just got into golf. He was very nice and passionate about golf.

Perfect for all the older type individuals who need to polish off their putt putt skills for their upcoming family fun night at the mini putt putt across the blacktop. Also perfect those those with severe rage that *really* have the instinctual urge to hit a ball far far far away. ....and then go retrieve it. Peaceful location, manicured, great landscape, and low cost. Worth it .

I am a pilot, living in the Caribbean currently, and it is always refreshing to come home to the Des Moines Driving Range. Mark Egly has helped me tremendously with my game over the past 6 years. He truly shows you how to hit the ball with consistency and remarkably less power than conventional swings. It can be hard, for some, to pick it up, but I promise you that if you stick with it you will be amazed at your quality of play.

The canopy and all green grass tee makes this the perfect place for us. Things were slow with the weather this bad, but the pro, took a lot of time and gave our daughter usefull help and free advice that really helped in this year of not getting to compete and practice because of lousy weather!!! Heard about this originally on the radio golf show they do every Thursday on 1700 radio.
