Been in Colorado for 3 years now and this is my favorite place to play! Great people that work there with great food and drink! They have fixed a lot of the Tee boxes and the fairways and greens are in great shape!

I have had the pleasure of working with a women's ministry for the past 9 years where they have a fundraiser with their Luncheon. The staff here is wonderful and works very hard to ensure the Luncheon goes well. The food is delicious and I would encourage anyone needing a venue for a fundraiser for two hundred people or less to use this location.

Sub Par food. Almost everyone's food was cold to Luke warm. Salmon was over cooked. When we said it was cold the comment was "It was just taken out of the warmer" perhaps turning the warmer up would help! They needed more staff to help the two seasoned adults.

Average public course. You get what you pay for here. Driving range mats and grass needs some love, and plan on a long round of golf. All that said, the greens and fairways were in pretty good shape.

Great municipal course if you're golfing on a budget. A good learners course as pace of play is fairly slow and the course isn't too difficult. The chipping green is long enough to work on pitching (approx 50 yds). Definitely walkable if you want to save even more money.

What a great Christmas prime rib dinner we had from the golf course restaurant! For a pickup dinner, everything was perfectly packaged, well-organized, and just delicious! I hope they do it again for various holidays, especially amid COVID concerns. Thank you!

Update as of 9/10/21: Still enjoy the course, but it is expected to be told when booking that the greens are being punched. They were very sandy and bumpy and putting was pointless. Most courses will give a discount but at the very least we should be told that this is happening. Unpleasant surprise and bumping this review from 4 to 3 stars. Previous Review: Affordable short par 71 course. It is in great shape considering the green fees. The greens are slow but that is expected, still in decent shape. Unlike many courses at this rate that simply go back and fourth all straight, the holes here uses the slope available (which is not much) as well as creeks and ponds. Hole 8 is my favorite as a dog leg sharp left that goes directly up hill at the bend. You can lay up straight or cut the corner for a short approach, or if you feel greedy you could go for a blind tee shot right at the green. Lot's of options on this hole! Expect pace of play to be slow as the course is busy with intermediate/newer golfers here. Fun course and would recommended.

Applewood Golf Club is exactly, in my opinion, what young Tom Morris would have wanted of a proper golf course and of its staff. Over the years I have felt that I have been treated like part of the family by every staff member. Not once have I had an unpleasant experience at this course. The warm and welcoming attitude of the staff permeates into the culture of the patrons. I often play as a solo just to see who I'm going to meet. I have always enjoyed the company of whomever I'm paired with and have found a few good playing partners along the way. The course is evironmentally friendly and proof that a course doesn't need to be 7,200 yds to be challenging. I've shot much lower scores at "harder" courses. Number 9 is brilliantly difficult. In the right light, at the right angle 16 could be mistaken for 6 at Pebble. To summarize; Applewood is a shining example of what a public municipal course is meant to be: Fun, welcoming and challenging for all levels. When you visit; enjoy and behave like a lady or gentleman and you will begin to see what I see... A True Gem!

Nice little course. Pretty short but usually we didn't have any issues with people taking too long or other people hitting into us. I played it at least once every week (on a weekday) for a few months and quite a few times on the weekends as well. Quite a lot of goose poop on the course but overall it's still pretty well maintained.

We were there for a loved ones celebration of life the food was excellent plenty of parking nice view of the Hills nice place there were a lot of golfers practicing shots and what have you I don't golf can't help you there

Great course. Some of the negative reviews were when CO was in a major drought. The last two years (rainy) this course has been great. Staff is friendly, relaxed pace and not uppity. Plus you can't beat 18 holes for 18 bucks for their twilight hours. Mid June-Early July you can easily get in 18 if you don't get stuck behind slow parties. If you do, the staff is pretty good with rain-checks. The backdrop is great too, mountains right there. Only complaint is their lack of a chipping green but they don't seem to mind if you chip at the putting green as long as there are not a lot of people putting.

Not only is this course conveniently located in a prime location for beautiful golf and views, the staff is truly amazing. Just joined as a member and look forward to all the amazing golf to come. Prices are absolutely reasonable for the amazing day of golf that they provide. If you're ever in the area and are an avid golfer I highly recommend you stop for a great game of golf. I'm a chauffeur here in Colorado and bring a lot of clients that visit here and they all have enjoyed the day. Thanks Applewood Golf Course.

Real diamond in the rough! Fantastic rural setting with a wonderful layout. I was a expecting the property to be surrounded with busy roads, subdivisions and/or commercial properties. Excellent views of the mountains and surrounding areas. The only thing better than the golf course was the staff. Carla was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. This golf property and staff are a real jewel on the front range. I plan to go back!

Course was fun, and if you get the groupon it's definitely worth it. Not the best course I've played. I'm from up north, but my friends and I saw the groupon and jumped at it. We were expecting an awful course based on the reviews, and were pleasantly surprised. Pro shop staff and bar staff were friendly, driving range is nice with actual distance markers, and course overall was in great shape. Lots of tee boxes were closed as they had just planted sod or something. once those open, they will be great from the looks. Be warned though, their rough is seriously thick. It wont look like it, but you WILL lose club speed. Not used to that.

Just had a bachelor party of 16 people... and had an AMAZING time! The staff was extremely friendly from start to finish. They let us set up some games along the course, gave us a great group rate for what we got and the course was in great shape. Strongly recommend, especially for large group outings.

My kids did half day golf camp here and loved it!! They primarily work on the putting green and driving range. The teachers are positive, helpful, and great with kids.

Applewood golf course hosted our CCU Softball golf tournament and we can't wait until next year! The golf course is beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful. Rob is a magnificent host and seems to truly enjoy his job. I have to say that the food was amazing and perhaps the very best I have ever had at a golf tournament. For the price, quality, location, course, staff, etc., this is the very best bargain in the city for a golf tournament. Thanks Rob and staff!

Staff is amazing , people are friendly BUT......prepare for the slowest round of your life. Log jams on every hole , the players don't play READY golf , and somehow think they are going to hit the green on their 3rd shot from 230 out when it took them 2 ground balls to get 140 yards off the tee box. Have played several times and have yet to see a marshall on the course to kick them in the rear to get them going. *bonus*get the twilight membership! The free range balls pays for the $50/mo after a few times out.

This is one of the most fun golf courses I have played at. The golf shop has very good food, and the course itself is well maintained and looks beatiful. It is an interesting corse with a good mix of doglehs and straight holes.

The Paiks

This is an older, shorter, quirky golf course that some local love and others will play for variety or price. The course prides itself in being chemical free, but water and air are chemicals.... The longest tees are 6288y, it's a par 71, and the rating is 67.9 slope 119 from blue, 66.3 slope 116 from white, and ladies play 68.9 slope 121. The greens are often uneven and the fairways can be oddly bony. If you aren't playing for score or handicap, these things may not matter. Still there are par 5 holes much less than 500y, which some people like...or prefer. So if length is a challenge, this course could be to your liking. Though bombers may find the creek on #18 with a driver. Beware on some of the holes, since cutting the corners are a common ploy, though doing so on #8 is not a legal play. Fwiw, cutting down a big greenside cottonwood on #16 altered the tactics, making it much easier. They have a Players Club (member ish rates) for not much, so if you play here more than 3 times a year, it's worth it. Also the course is very walkable. The restaurant had friendly staff and some good "clubhouse" deals. Hopefully the drink options will continue to expand. The locals fought hard to keep this course from being another housing development, so credit them for their efforts.

Applewood hosted our 5th annual company tournament with nearing 144 golfers and Rob and his staff did an impeccable job. Rob's knowledge and follow through made our job the easiest ever in hosting a company sponsored tournament. The greens and fairways were green and groomed. The food in the over-sized banquet room was fantastic. Overall experience was a 5 star rating and exceeded our expectations!

With all the rude comments thanks for not coming back. As an avid golfer this course is a great one with great staff. I come here as much as possible. True it's not a TPC course but for the price and with the friendly staff this course is worth your money and worth the time.

Haven't played golf here. However, we walked through when it was snowing and it was beautiful. I'm not sure if we were allowed to walk through, but the course was closed. Thank goodness it was saved from development.

This is ideal for lesser skilled players, it is not a pristine course for good players looking for a challenge. It is usually in pretty good shape, has a good pace of play and the layout is very player friendly. It is also a great value for the money.

This golf course has definitely taken a turn for the worse over the past few years. Once a well maintained and manicured course, it often shows signs of neglect and apathy. The grass is often dry and facilities often look unkempt. Could definitely use a makeover!

Nice golf course and the prices are reasonable but if you get rained out you will not get a 9-hole you will only get reimbursement for the holes you didn't play which is unusual for what most golf courses do

I've been playing twilight once a week here this summer and am surprised by all the negative comments about the staff. The rangers have always been friendly and even let us skip over and play the back nine when we stuck behind a slow group on the front. Reasonable price. Will continue to play at Applewood weekly

THE BEST PEOPLE ON EARTH!! I am Very pleased to write a review for Applewood. I am a first year player and I must say I spend more time looking for my ball then walking down the fairway. LOL. I do not know why the others have had a hard time with the marshall. They are all friendly, There is times where it gets busy but it is just like every where else so the tee times can be 9 min apart. Over all the NEW APPLEWOOD looks so great I have decided to hold my wedding there in Aug. Thanks again and looking forward for my next 100 over par game!!!!
