Other people's complaints are valid. The course is not pristine, they don't accept cash, and sometimes play is pretty slow. Here's what I love about Blacklick Woods Golf Course. There's a discount if you're a Franklin Co resident. The trees and wildlife are amazing and set it apart from other municipal courses in the area. I've seen wild turkeys, red foxes, and deer. It is a golf course in a nature preserve. It's not surrounded by suburban houses.

From out of town and came to the course because of the great reviews. Practice area was closed due to being Monday. The practice green next to the first hole was a little small and not well kept, so I was worried about the course conditions. Greens we’re a little slow but very nice and true. Lots of ball marks I fixed… course layout was very interesting and fun from the Blue tees. The elevation changes made it challenging and with great views. Strategically placed big trees and sand traps so need to be accurate. Some short dog legs so wedge play is key. Pace was extremely slow. The gas carts are noisy but had no issues climbing the hills.

It was my first time playing this course. I played the back nine and the course was very beautiful.. visited the course a second time and played 18, beautiful course. They lost a star because on the front 9 (they had us start on the back 9 so front 9 was later in the day around 5pm) there was a guy mowing fairways and on 4 holes we had to wait to hit because he would be mowing right where we needed to hit, and he wouldn't stop and move to the side. He didn't kill the loud engine when you got close, he did finally shut the blades off once while we were putting but the guy followed us for 3 holes and it was awful, fo holes 2, 3, and 4 then when we got to 8 he was there again. We also had someone come around and ask us to hurry to finish while we were on number 7 because the high schools were about to start playing the front 9 and it was ironic because we would have been done by that time if we hadn't waited so long for the guy cutting the fairways. I don't take selfies, but I did this day.. this was one of the holes when we made it past the guy mowing and he didn't stop at all while we were hitting our shots was extremely frustrating.

Great course! The short course was backed up by 6 groups (!) So we played 9 on the front. Well maintained and a lot of interesting turns. The course is also a bird sanctuary so you'll see some less common birds which is kinda neat. We'll be back!

The course is great but today had a tee time for 4:20pm to play 18 holes and on the end of hole 17 someone from the park told us we had 4 mins to take carts back. It is almost $40 per person to play and if I paid for 18 holes I am playing 18 holes. There is never anyone that monitors slow play people or groups so if they don't monitor that is not my problem. Very unhappy with attitudes!

The course played and looked well. We couldn't have picked a better day to play. Everyone was cordial and full of smiles. Their driving range was good and has an automated dispenser. Pay at the pro shop for whatever size you want and they give a code to enter at the dispenser. Have fun there and hit them long and straight!

Courses of Blacklick Woods Golf are very challenging. Course map is also very nice. At the first time, It was not easy to find the next tee. I think it will be better if they mark the next hole with any sign. And, there is also 9 hole practice course which is good for beginners or for field range.

Free winter golf in 2021, not in bad shape at all considering it is January. Nice layout on the championship 18 (Gold course). They have a smaller course (Green course) and a great practice facility which houses the first tee program. Highly recommended

Fairways were nicely cut and course was in good shape. The ladies tees were fairly placed. We find that on alot of courses the ladies tees are not much differnt then the mens. Of course my wife still out drove me. Looks like they are building a new club house which is needed since the exterior was dated. Golf carts are older and show their wear and tear. During golf there was surprising amount of wildlife including deer, turtles, ducks, a wild turkey, and frogs. Pretty cool.

Went to the driving range. Reasonably priced but would be nicer if there was an enclosed area or shade. It was brutal on the direct sun also it was a tad confusing how to get the balls because there are instructions on the vending machine but then nothing dispenses. Had to go into the clubhouse and pay the. Get a receipt with a code on it to then walk back to the vending machine and get balls.

Was gonna give 4 stars as it's a ok course for the money but then I made the turn and bought a hot dog. Lemme tell ya between the price of beers and this delicious all beef frank that they give you for way less $$ than the other courses this made it for me. Actually bought another for the ride home. Not sure who they get em from but they are winning the hot dog/brat wars of every other course I've been to around here.

I really enjoyed the facility. I was here last weekend for a baby shower. The facility was clean and the views were pretty good of the pond and the golf course.

The championship course is a challenge and is well maintained. The practice area including the driving range is nice. You can work on many facets of your game. Unfortunately the range is not maintained very well. Through the course of the Summer the grass hitting area has erroded into a dirt and dust bowl. I have used the range 10 to 15 times during this period. With all the youth activity and use by other golfers it's apparent that the land area is not sufficient fit the amount of use. There needs to be a program devised that would allow for rotational seeding and new grass growth. Enlarging the hitting area would be beneficial.

a very beautiful course. had a great time with my buddy's for my birthday. the reason for a 4 star is that I'm not a Professional golfer and the course police stopped us twice and asked us to speed it up. I get the reason but there was 4 of us and the 3 other teams behind us only had 2 people. they could have played ahead of us. I paid the same price as everyone else. might not go back but is is a really course.

I absolutely love playing this course. I put down my clubs for 5 years. When I moved from California to Ohio in 2019, I didn't know this course existed. When I was told it was free, I got the bug back to sharpen my game.

Have only played the practice course, but it was fun, well maintained and free to Franklin county residents. Only complaint is that it was packed and painfully slow. But hey, it was free, so can't be too upset about that. :)

It's a great course with a 9 hole par 3 course still challenging for a beginner through amateur but great to practice and hone in on skill then they have a long 18 hole champion course par 5 great challenge for everyone. All Franklin county residents get free daily admission to the 9hole course and to ride it is a 10$ fee at the front of the course you have a well stocked club house and party rooms. 3 practice holes and 2 massive chipping and putting greens free of charge for anyone. Friendly and fun highly recommended.

This course is perfect for new golfers and people who have played the game for a long time. The 9-hole beginners course is not intimidating but is also not boring, so more experienced golfers that want to play with friends who aren't as good can still have a good time. The 18 hole course is somewhat challenging. There is a decent amount of elevation change and some forced carries over water. It is always in great condition as well. The prices are more than reasonable.

Brought some friends here from out of town. The pro shop was extremely friendly and helpful. The greens and fairways were well taken care of. For the price in the area you can't beat it!

It has a good layout and challenging but the course is in bad shape. A lot of fairways have a lot of bare spots. Traps are terrible.

I really like this course and my wife and I have had a great time learning here. However 50% of the staff that work here are pretty rude. They really make checking in at the club house an unenjoyable experience. Especially the starting crew. Danny, however is fantastic.

Beautiful course nested within old growth forests surrounded by nature. Tons of birds and wildlife, amazing price and very well kept. Great training facilities as well. A must in central Ohio golf

Great place to rent a nice size room in there club house to have a party for 40/50 people. Nice and clean has a nice little kitchen . The only issue I had you have to park at the bottom of this hill and walk up to the building it is a good little walk. Seniors usually have to be dropped off at the door and then someone else has to park the car. They could use velet parking.

The short course is the perfect place to learn to play the game. They even have kid's tees! Free to Franklin county residents. At least for now. The gold course is fabulous too for the experienced player.

Very fun Par 3 Course & Long Course.I'm from the Country and the Courses I play are very challenging with very little era of the Tee & more so with your approach,but what makes them fun & relaxing to play is the beauty of the lay out of the course,and experiencing the beauty of nature. So when I found Black Lick Golf Course I felt as if I was home playing and shocked. The reason being cause your surrounded by what I call "THE CITY" And nestled right inn Reynoldsburg Ohio is Serenity for Golfers who are looking for a Round & to get away from that everyday grind of life. The ProShop is nice & can get you fitted out for your 9 or a Round if need be.Also a big Factor for me & should be for any good Golfer is the Green/Fairways are well maintained. So inculcation if your looking for the Best Golf Course in Columbus/Franklin County,Ohio, Then Black Lick is that Course for you or your group to enjoy & enjoy the Beauty of Nature while playing a round..

On 12-8-2018, Humanist Community of Central Ohio [HCCO] held its 2018 HCCO Winter Solstice Banquet at the Blacklick Woods Golf Course Banquet Room. I try to travel to all destinations, whenever possible, by public transportation; however, traveling to the Blacklick Woods Golf Course Banquet Room from Upper Arlington by public transportation would have taken two hours, the final half hour of which would have been walking south for 1.2 miles from E. Main St. on a paved trail that parallels Blacklick Creek -- and jogs significantly at E. Livingston Ave. -- that may close at dark. Thankfully I had eventually been able to find an automobile ride to that event. I want to add here that the Banquet Room had been difficult to find -- in the nearly-complete darkness – from a moving car -- but that we did eventually find the correct building. Once we had successfully arrived at the Banquet Room, we were then able to enjoy a wonderful banquet that had included delicious food and great service.

I attend this facility on a quarterly basis for Women Of Purpose. Women of Purpose is an opportunity for women to fellowship with many different women from other churches. No men or children allowed. It's held through Believer's Ministries Church with Elder Marilyn Dawkins. There is always a guest speaker with lunch provided afterwards. There is a gentleman who is part of the staff through Park and Recreation who is very helpful. He offers assistance to provide help with no questions asked. The amenities are great. We have access to the kitchen and everything we need. I recommend this place to hold any event.

This seems to be a great place for young golfers but it isn't managed for senior golfers. They restrict carts from the green area at about 125 yards before the green. Our travelling group voted unanimously not to return.

Very well structured park with Chipmunks and all kinds of undisturbed wildlife Please "Do Not" plan a family event here using water balloons and litter this could be a choking hazard for the precious outdoor life of pets yet it's definitely a great place to play golf

Formerly Stoney Creek Country Club, this golf course is the jewel in the Metro Parks system. It is rated in the top ten of all public golf courses in the Columbus by Business First magazine. Designed by Jack Kidwell, a former associate of Mike Hurdzan, this course can stretch over 6800 yards. This is a fun course to play, with wide fairways.
