Reviews of McGolf
M Lee
Went here for my birthday last night. The course was fun, loved the fish and turtles! A few things though:
-parked next to a dirty tampon in the parking lot so obviously moved spots only to take a few more steps to come across a dirty diaper, band aid and baby wipe.
-that's probably because the bathrooms were drenched in piss and barely usable.
-the entire establishment is run by literal children. I didnt see a single employee over the age of 16.
McGolf gets a three star rating as redemption because of these 2 particular holes (pictured):
ENJOY!

Super cute little golf spot! Gets pretty crowded on the weekends but not too bad! Remember to say hi to the little troll who hangs out under the bridge. His name is Harold and he loves gummy worms!

And a bunch of friends play the mini golf section at this place. The location is very convenient to access and the have many puts (if I’m not wrong I think there are 18 of them). The level of difficulty is a different for each challenge and ascends slowly which is a great way for everyone to learn more about the game and improvise along. A fun outdoor activity to explore in the summer.

I'd say it's a fun place to go if you wanna have fun with your buddies or kids but it's not a place for serious golfers who want some quality practice. It was very noisy and there were too many people with poor golfing etiquette so too many stops and starts and distractions. The balls, ball feeder and mats are in pretty good condition though the distance on the balls is very restricted. I'm a low handicap golfer and practicing here would not help my game.

3.5 overall. The place is nice, clean, great ambiance, bright lights, covered areas, and is near some great food places. Just based in this is give it a 5.
BUT… Price is expensive and there seems to be a lot of variation in how many balls you get. I’ve gotten as low as 43 and as many as 54 in my 10 visits but there should be a standard amount you get if you’re paying a standard price. The automated tee is a nice touch but the tee heights aren’t standardized so one system’s 1 can be another system’s 3. Also automated tee’s can often malfunction a bit causing it to think you’re out of balls and having to hit a button to restart the system and bring each ball up, kind of defeating the purpose. Also the automated system struggles to bring up balls when it has 5 or less left, causing you to think you’re out when you’re not. I’ve seen plenty of empty matts with a random ball in the tee and upon swinging, another one or two will eventually pop out. Plus not all of matts have automated systems.
Provided drivers are absolute garbage. I don’t have this issue because I’ve got clubs but I took a couple friends with me for their first time swinging a club and I was shocked how bad and broken they are. Most aren’t even straight. For $10 a bucket and the kind of volume they get, they can do better… at least toss or fix your crooked clubs rather than handing them out. Honestly I’d give this place higher if it wasn’t for how terrible the clubs were on two separate occasions. It just shouts that they’re interested only in money at any cost. Not a great look.
I usually go to stone meadow which is a 10-12 min drive as opposed to here unless I’m also going to be doing some shopping or grabbing food in this area. Stone meadow has a much better value for the range (it’s almost half as expensive). Buckets here should honestly be $8. On the plus side, they’ve got a rewards punch card that brings the price of the buckets down but that’s only after 18 buckets which is $180. Other places reward you similar amount of balls for spending 60% of the cost.

Nice practice facility/ driving range for the price. Been coming here for years love that they added covered bays with heat and Toptracer. TopTracer seems to be a bit off/ inaccurate by short 1-10% of your actual yardage, needs to be recalibrated. Also the Long Drive game hasn’t worked in about a week…

Very fun mini golf course. Can't speak on the cafe because we didn't get any food. It did look like they had a good variety.
Nicolas Fernandez
It's a nice place especially if you live around the area. The price is fairly cheap at 9 dollars and 4 to play again. I didn't get to try the food but it might be good. I think the biggest thing this course is missing is complexity, most of the holes are very simple and resemble each other. There are a couple that are a little more interesting with tunnels and optional shortcuts but there only a few of them. There can also be traffic in between holes but it's not too bad. Overall I think it's worth going and could be a great course if a little more complexity was added. The staff is chill, minimum interaction.
R Curt
Solid driving range and a pretty decent putt putt course. Can get very crowded and sometimes you have to wait 10 or more minutes for a bay but there are plenty of them. I personally am not a fan of the auto-set tees but they have a whole section without them which is nice. They have plenty of targets and pins to practice with. The putt putt course is well maintained and can be a challenge at times. Great place to bring the family and they have a cafe you can grab ice cream at afterward!

We have a special needs child that is legally blind and 100% deaf and we had a blast... We had so much fun we are coming back here this Sunday to do a night game.

Well designed and fun range that strikes me as a solid date spot- $10 for a small bucket of balls, plus food options Ike grilled cheeses and chicken tenders, and a creamery- I got the raspberry ripple which as A+. As for the range itself, I found the Power Tee bays to be quite useful especially with practicing my driver (it automatically tees up the next shot for you). There are also a bunch of bays in the shade if you forgot your sunscreen.
Michael M
Golf simulators and heated driving range. Always my go-to driving range in winter and now they have golf simulators. Half of the driving range is covered overhead and clear-wall behind you so no pass through wind in winter. There are heaters overhead that cover you while on the mat and work enough to keep you comfortable. Last week was 32deg I had a thermal, T-shirt and enter vest with a beanie and was fine. Automatic re-tee of the ball with 4 heights. No need to bend over. Best part in the indoor simulator close to home. Living in Watertown we have to drive to Fore Golf in Westborough or Woburn, Ashland. This is close and they use an E6 simulator and is in pristine shape, well lit and well built. Will definitely be using the simulator often this winter. Can do a driving range session and get spin numbers, height and face angle/loft at impact. Very happy with simulators.
Daniel Kim
Moved to Boston recently and did a lot of searching for driving ranges until I found this place. Overall this is probably the best range in this area with the Power Tee system and covered bays. Their short game area is also in great condition and I ended up signing up for the yearly membership. My only criticism would be the $10 buckets which only have about 50 or so balls. They should have more options for bigger bucket sizes.
Rola Sam
Very nice place to visit with family
Mike Stillwagon
Pretty fun putt putt course, with a good deal of obstacles and a fun hole from the top of the waterfall. I imagine it's much better in the summer, as the waterfall was turned off when we went (Nov.). Staff was nice and friendly, and finishing off a round with the kids by having some ice cream at their cafe was just right. We'll be coming back here again.
Jamie Sulprizio
Not sure why there's a recent review saying mini golf is permanently closed, but they are very much open and the course looks great. It definitely looks like some work was done on the carpets. It was a bit crowded, but not too bad.
Bill Walker
One of the best mini golf courses we're have ever played. Very scenic and wil maintained.
Allan McClendon
Pleasent family friendly place for socializing, with a great variety on their snack menu 😋 ! …
Ken Hamel
This place is great! The owner, Eric, is not only passionate about golf but wants everyone else to be ... he's a super instructor for all levels and is very helpful to those of us just starting out (compared to many golf pros at courses I've encountered). The driving range is fantastic ... parts are covered for all sorts of weather. Overall fantastic experience.
Lucas Kim
Decent driving range but it can get very crowded especially after 5PM. Majority of the times I have to wait until other cars leave the lot
Erik Haan
Took my boys, aged 7 and 4 years, for mini golf and they had a good time.
The 18-hole course is well-maintained and the staff is friendly and accommodating.
We reached Hole 4 when my youngest informed me he had to go to the bathroom. Thanks to sidewalks alongside each hole we didn't have to interrupt any other games as we backtracked. The staff member at the minigolf booth invited us to take our clubs and balls with us as we traveled to the bathroom (on the other side of the complex from minigolf). I'm grateful for them trusting us and not making it a hassle as we were in a HURRY to get to the restroom.
Upon arriving back at the course we just started over and didn't have anyone hassle us (again, much appreciated).
The course itself has a nice mix of hole types and features. Some holes have hills to go over or objects to go around or multiple levels. My youngest's favorite was a giant hill around the halfway point of the course. He loved putting and seeing the ball go flying down the incline.
Nice pond and water fountain in the middle of the course, with a nice waterfall feeding into it.
Worked out to about $2 / hole for me and my two boys. Not a bad value, actually, because with 18 holes we were minigolfing for at least 45 minutes (if not longer).
Donnie Johnson
If your looking for something fun to do with ur family a date or just by yourself definitely check this place out, it has mini golf along with the driving range, my favorite thing there is the.automatic tee
TwoTrunkz (Zach)
Was definitely busy, the range itself isn't to bad, was a lot of balls on the field tho. $10 for 50 balls. But I did enjoy the automatic ball giver. Other than that no problem. Fun place to bring the kids or to just swing the club.
Daniel Gold
Driving range is decent but expensive. Bucket is always 5-7 balls short of 50 so I feel cheated a bit. You gotta buy a token to get heat on cold days, I mean its petty change but still kinda eh
Alex Salamon
Great overall experience! High-tech practice facility that you can track every shot broken down by club. Better than a Top Golf and less expensive/shot if you are looking to improve your game. The founding family is still involved and their passion for the game is reflected in every employee. I've heard that the club fitting and indoor facility are also good and looking forward to that post COVID. Having recently moved to the area, I'm happy to have found this facility.
Flennard Shaw
True one of the memories I cherish, stress free atmosphere, great friendly customer service and priced to fit any budget. I went to hang out with an close friend, but easily fits a family outing, group function and yes fitness profile. A definite gem!!
Jenny Straight
So much fun! Friendly staff, good prices, nice course. We had a blast!
Mark Alcarez
Good place with a driving range and snacks. Well made mini golf course. It can get very busy but we arrived at 630 and beat the rush. The parking lot was full so we parked on a side street.
David Diwei Xia
Eric is the owner and my favorite instructor. My family loves the driving range and the mini golf. Its $10 per bucket of balls and no other cost for using the driving range. Need a membership in order to use the putting green and sandtrap.
Kalin Kostadinov
Nice golf range for beginners and advanced players alike. You pay to get a bucket of balls and practice your shots. It can accommodate probably up to 50 players at the same time and even though it looked full on a late Friday afternoon we still got a free lane without waiting. My coworkers brought clubs and you will need someone in your party to briny these to and to know what to do if everyone else is a complete beginner.
JG T
Pretty much your bog standard driving range, with the added benefit of lights so you can hit pretty late into the evening. The mini golf is bigger than most which is nice.
Jacob Berezin
Descent place. The staff were really friendly and easy to talk to. The driving range is big and set up really nice. They have tons of lanes so even when it's busy, getting a spot isn't bad. They also have a descent mini golf course. My only feedback is there is large number of holes that are just regular putts. They could add a bit more to the course.
Overall the whole place is really clean and well kept. Defiantly going back here.
jon tobin
We'll run mini-golf and driving range. Always clean and neat. There's a little cafe that serves food and ice cream. I've never eaten there, but it looks like the type of food you'd expect from this kind of place.
Christopher Marovelli
Balls in good shape, extremely busy - expect to wait a little on peak hours. They installed a new auto ball feeder system recently, which is somewhat cool in that it tracks your amount of balls hit, but that's about all it does so frankly it seems lime a waste of their money.
Harry Marcus
Took a lesson with Eric this morning. Straightened out my drive and added 30 yards in under an hour.
I also had no idea they had a shot tracker app for the range, was great watching my distances on my phone
Alex Pihlak
I have been a happy customer of McGolf for the past three years. Every experience I have had there has been positive, even when it wasn't. During one hot July day, I ventured out to eagerly work on my swing since quarantine. I got through all my irons and wedges, and started on my driver. I could feel my driver slipping with every hit, as my club grip is old and my glove was falling apart; but they were all good hits so I just kept a tight grip. I made it until the very last ball. I loaded it up, stanced, and swung my driver, making good contact with the ball. As I was tracking my ball, a split second later, I started tracking my driver out to the 50 yard line. Slipped right out of my sweaty palms. I asked the employees working if I, or the groundskeeper, could run and grab it; but to no avail. I was told they would pick it up at the end of the night, and I could get it back in the morning. Come two days later, I call asking if they picked it up, and the nice manager said she could not find the driver or the sock I gave to accompany it. I start to panic as I thought someone might have swiped it before the employees could get to it; but what had ended up happening was the groundskeeper placed it in a different spot, and I am on my way to pick up my driver and shoot some more (with chalk this time.) During the time I assumed my driver was gone, the owner of McGolf (Eric) called me personally on a rare off-day of his to assure that he would work with me, regardless if my driver was actually taken or not. McGolf has gained a lifetime customer today.
Creed Cotard
Update: The new automatic ball feeders and golf tracing app is a nice update.
I used to love McGolf...now I just "like" them. The driving range facility is really nice and the covered bays are awesome. But about a year or two ago they increased the price per from $8.00 to $8.50 and they significantly reduced the size of the ball buckets... oh well. That's the economy for ya..
Gwen Roberge
Amazing time. Lots of families and dates having fun and super kind attendant. The green had some rips that made it hard to play in parts and redirected the ball. But overall, a good time!!
Andrew H (ULTRAsans4758)
I give it four stars...even though I wanted to put 3 because the price for 50 balls is 10 dollars making it a little expensive for actual players wanting to hit 100 to 200 balls..not to mention they have more business than a damn top golf when I was there... alcohol putt putt....overall nice place.
Dakota Hitchner
To preface, my dear my friend and I had a fun time mini golfing. The price was decent and the staff was nice. We happen to see 2 drunk teenagers roaming the grounds, but we can’t fault McGolf’s for that. However, rather than mini golf, the experience could more aptly be described as small golf. The mini implies a fun tone to the golf, one envisions windmills, animal statues, and maybe a theme. Here, the most one can hope for is a silly shaped rock. The courses are small and barren, much like a midwestern field. If you are looking for a challenge, this is not the place for you.
Two other notes. We paid a dollar for fish food, in hopes we could feed a cute koy or two. Unfortunately, the pond looked as though it would not support any animal life, and no fish were seen. We did see a turtle, which was nice, but he did not eat our food. Lastly, our game was played over a friendly wager for a slushie from the snack shack. I bought the slushies, excited for a cool drink, only to be given a neon colored poor attempt at Italian Ice. Sad. Overall, a fine place with some room to grow. Three stars.
Star McConnell
Great place, very fun overall. Ice cream was superb! The only thing that was really not cool was the mosquitoes. There were signs all over claiming that they control bugs with spray, however, we got eaten alive. They need to rethink having ponds or put something in place to really control the bugs. (Easier said I'm sure!) My work team had a blast, money well spent.
K Smith
Decent little spot although it was fairly busy. Wait time isn't bad, but they should put more places to sit if it's going to be like that. Holes aren't too difficult nor too simple.
Jack Kovatch
I sent management an email through their website citing how my 6 yr old daughter was stung by a nest of yellow jackets and they never responded. Not 5 minutes after her sting, the next group with a 9 year old boy got stung as well. The staff was disinterested and her first offering was a spent/warm ice pack. The yellow jackets built a nest on the backside of the aluminum railing near the rules at Hole 1 overlooking the pond. Price seemed fair, and mini golf layout had a challenging but creative design. Not sure if we'd return. Not hard for management to rectify this either. August 13 2019.
Jeff Behn
Definitely worth a trip to Dedham. The minigolf course is well maintained - (I didn't see one worn spot on the green) and well designed. The driving range has LOTS of spaces, so even when it's crowded, it's not crowded ;) The staff was even really pleasant. Highly recommended.
Colin Campbell
Fun, 18 hole mini golf course. Was a little crowded, but not too bad. Some holes were pretty basic/boring but overall a great time
Cindy Butterworth
Great little spot for family fun! Delicious ice cream at the"19th hole"! In need of some repair on the greens or it would've been a 5☆ review.
Nicholas Foley
It can get crazy busy here, but the staff are all super friendly! The driving range is a great place to tune up your game and the mini golf course is fun and quirky.
Lin Gan
McGolf, the mini golf course saved the day! It's the perfect stop to pick up a few rounds on a nice day. Unfortunately the day we went, the waterfalls were not operating >:( and there were leaves all over the course.
But other than that, the courses were beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed putting about. Expect a line on the weekends though as it looks like a popular place. Also conveniently nearby is an ice cream shop. :)
Shonelle Woods
The young kid at the booth was awesome. We Had fun! Good hang out for teens and family☆
Chad Dunn
Great hours. You can hit until 11. Buckets could be bigger and I wish the yardage was more clearly marked. It can get crowded.
Karin
Driving ranges are clean and heated in winter!
Mini golf course is different, clean, and fun.
Staff is super friendly.
Great location.
Ryan Jarmusik
Little crowded and on top of each other but was able to have more family time so who's complaining! Bring your own wipes for safety, putters provided little dirty.
Jon Lewis
McGolf is the wildest driving range I have evwr experienced. There are crazy robots that feed the ball to you from underground. The place was so packed, but I felt so safe. I improved my iron game so well, then had the chance to use the "members only" green to work on my chipping game. But I am not a member. So thank you Mc Golf. I hit a 74 the next day. You guys rock. Love, Jon Lewis
Amber Marie Jackson
Mini golf is fun and it's a really pretty course. Ice cream is delicious. I haven't tried the driving range yet.
Wis
Best mini golf around, highly recommended.
P V
Really cute, nicely maintained! We had a lot of fun, and with a variety of ages: 40, 10, and 8.
Difficulty level was great for us all - no one was tantrumming on the ground like a toddler after their 5th miss on the hole, but one of us would normally hit par, and, even birdie'd a few times.
B Diddy
Nice automatic tees and hitting mat. Covered bays with pay heaters available. Bucket is small for $10 though so i won't go very often.
Patrick Egan
This is one of the best driving ranges in the Boston city area. Always busy and has mini golf for the kids. Cost is is fair
Justin Halls
I wish the mini golf had more of the crazy windmills and clowns etc, but that’s just a personal preference. It’s a nice place. Super crowded on a Saturday night though so plan to be there a while if that’s when you go. I’ve had some good grub from their grill too. But the grill has different hours than the rest of the cafe so plan that one ahead as well.
Matthew Maruca
Friendly folks and a lovely facility. Reasonable prices. Perfect for the family.
Jack McAuliffe
Covered range is a savior through the Boston winter. Efficient operation that will have you hitting balls quickly.
Kurt Redlitz
In this area, this is the best mini golf location. It also has a lot of driving range slots, and a nice ice cream and food place for snacks afterwards. Look for the mini golf, it is a fun challenging reasonable course. Interesting holes coming up and down, a great layout
Salvatore Albano
Great prices and clean, pleasant facility
Dennis Johnson
Good outing with granddaughter, she enjoyed herself and I got some practice in
pam graves
Staff were nice and golf course was really nice.

Best mini golf and driving range in the area
Jake Cabrera
Great driving range and mini golf. Snack shack has very solid food choices and sweets/ice cream.
Hannah McBride
Beautifully maintained mini golf. Fairly simple, mostly par 2 or 3. Great for taking younger kids.
Isamar Perez
First time and it was really nice. Not very pricey. The staff was friendly. Very nice layout. Beautiful and relaxing. My niece and I had a blast. Would go again.
Kenechukwu Anadu
Had a blast playing mini golf with the kids
William A. Osae-Kwapong
Great establishment for practice, improvement & simply having fun
George Haskell
Great facility with both a driving range znd mini-golf. They need to expand the mini golf as the play time was extremely slow. Good value for a round of mini or a bucket for the range. Snack stand available as well.
Adam Riveiro
Excellent mini golf course. One of the best in the Boston area!
David Renninger
The course is very simple, without much variety. The staff at the entrance are usually very friendly, though!
Naika Metelus
My friends and I had fun. It wasn’t an outstanding experience but we had a good time regardless.
O.G. Mass
Nice course... only problem is the way they handle the amount of guests that they have
dan crowley
A personal favorite very close freindly staff only downside is i wish they had a bigger bucket option one isnt enough and two is just too much other than that great range
Dan Ryan
Driving range is nice. Minigolf course is a bit simple but great for kids or an easy going date. Typical pricing. Ice cream shop/cafe was a good stop after, especially if you have kids. Clean.
Michael
Nice place for some minigolf.
Brian Kearney
Unique mini golf spot with a great driving range.
This place has been around for years and continues to be a fun spot for mini golf and hitting the range.
Jay Levinson
Driving range with tons of bays, mini golf, members practice area and ice cream..
Lara Nicolau
Great activity to enjoy the outdoors while socially distancing. Nice course with a mix of a few hills and tunnels.
Sayed Fitness
It was so fun and relaxing ,you can take your time at each station and no one rushes you!
Rachel Starks Chaves
Organized place and fun course! Not too difficult. Well lit in the evening. Very enjoyable.
Beantown Billy
Holes had leaf's on them that could have been blown clean. Course wasn't very challenging, my 4 year old had 3 birdies, but the greens were green and not torn up.
Kathryn J Brewer
Fun for the family to get us outside!
Adam Dehner
Best mini-golf/driving range/snack bar combination I've been to.
Anthony Bolton
Tons is space and different options (they have heated booths). Like the ones with the automatic ball feeders to tee the ball up.
Casey Cho
Great place when the weather is hot. Love the automatic ball machine for the tee.
Bry Rodriguez
Mini golfing is great. Affordable price, nice scenery. Only downside are the group bottlenecks and damn mosquitoes!
Brett Thompson
Great spot to practice your swing!
Samantha Richert
Course is gorgeous! Absolutely love coming here. Peaceful.

Great driving range. Somewhat uninspired mini-golf course.

Gets very crowded. Needs more parking.

Great way to kill some time! Can't beat it at $10/bucket of 50 balls.
Darren Hubbard
Decent spot, well maintained grounds.

A great driving range. Head out and hit a couple buckets - no complaints.
