Reviews of Practice Tee & Golf Shop

Looks run down but they give you a good green to hit off. Management were nice. They let me and my grandson stay past 5 to finish off our bucket of balls. You can easily share a medium bucket of balls like he and I did. The yardage markers aren't marked very well but for your information the first one is 50 and they go up by 25. All and all this was a good driving range.

A bit pricey. 14 bucks for a large bucket, thats 2 dollars more than the place I usually go to. There's about 6 usable mats considering the rubber tees are either too long, too short, or non existent on most. The mat I used left residue on my clubs that I had to clean off afterwards and it wasn't super easy to get off either. The "clubhouse" I guess you can call it is pretty dirty and cluttered. They didn't have any water bottles for purchase which isn't a big deal but there was a sign for dollar waters. Overall I didn't mind paying 14 bucks, it was laid back and my buddy and I could relax being the only people there for a little while. If you don't care about yardage and just want to correct a slice or hook its a decent place to go if you're near by. The "yardage markers" are just shabby wooden posts in the ground without any markings to tell you the distance. I knew the first one was 50yds from a previous review and just guessed the rest. It was pretty swampy around the mats in certain areas. Range balls aren't in the best condition, several of the ones I had were dead and didn't hit well. The man that was there was nice. In conclusion, ill probably go again because it's on the way to my job and it's comparable to hitting balls in your backyard but without having to go find them afterwards, thus making this cheaper than losing balls you paid for. 3 stars.

I liked the vibe, which was basically "no vibe." Simple, no frills golf range with assorted "found" re-washed golf balls. Only for full swing practice (ie. no sand or short game area). One-man operation in a small scenic pasture off the highway allows you to practice without much distraction. Convenient to downtown. Yardages could be more clearly marked.

Great for the driving range and customer service. Would have liked a practice putting green, but this a driving range after all.

Very comfortable ol' country appeal - home grown customer loyalty program. He has your bucket of balls loaded up by the time you get to the door. I could not make it through all my balls in one day, so he simply set them aside and let me come back the next day to finish. Nice yardage markers. Excellent level mats (for winter time). I havent hit off the grass, but it looks OK.

The price is alright (14 bucks for a bucket of balls that will last you at least an hour by yourself). But they should spend the 3 hours it would take to put up clear markers. The workers were very nice though.
Britt Taylor
Nice upgrades, flat mats and green areas to hit from and new yardage markers. Best practice facility around.

Joe the pro is a fine teacher. He understands and illustrates proper swing mechanics, but never gets lost in meaningless physical detail. He combines solid analysis with plenty of examples and stories. He's funny, and unworried about lesson length. I've had lessons from many renowned professionals--and Joe is the best.

This is an awesome low profile place to go hit some balls and quite often you don't feel crowded. Do check beforehand they may be closed on Mondays and Thursdays or maybe it was just my most recent visit.
Christopher Lawrence
Pretty good pricing. Okay quality for hitting. They should have marker identifiers.
Terry Lynn Nelson
Three of us took a group lesson with Joe and it was GREAT! We varied in skill level but he was able to tailor his instruction so we all got a lot out of the two-hours. I know I'll go back again for more instruction. Thank you, Joe!

Needed a place to hit balls close to downtown Asheville and served the purpose. Nice, quiet driving range that can use a couple improvements to some areas of grass and yardage signs.
Noah Adams
Nice place to hit balls. Mats and grass tees. Grass tees weren't in the greatest condition when I was there but they get the job done. Nice place to come hit!
Amber Farmer
The staff worker was nice. Fair prices on three different sized baskets of golf balls.
Eric Schneider
Great place to hit. No distance markers or flags. You can hit from Matt's or grass.
Larry Pierson
Went to hit golf balls a few times. They had golf balls, I hit them and left happy.... not too much to say
Dan Krajick
I wish they had numbered markers but other than that, no complaints. Mountain schemers from the tees and right next to the river.
Alan Chronister
Good place to practice , good condition..affordable , and laid back..

This is where the grind starts. Place to work on your game no frills no distractions.
