Reviews of University of New Mexico: Championship Golf Course
Great course. It will test your game.
All around amazing experience. Course conditions were as good great considering it is November. Staff was great, pace of play was perfect, couldn’t have asked for a better day!
Starter was leaning towards unfriendly. Everything else was perfect. Lobo grill attendant was awesome, course was in as good of condition as could be in winter.
Course is in good shape. Course only takes cards, no cash. Gentleman in the pro shop was nice, however the restaurant was a different story. He wasn’t at the count so rang the bell as instructed but still no one. They a nice cleaning lady knocked in the door and the guy came up from and was rude and disrespectful. Was upset she knocked in the door and had to come to the front to provide customer service.
Awesome championship course and very affordable for the quality of the course! Staff very friendly and helpful. Love playing here!
UNM(South) Championship Golf Course is a very nice course and always very well kept. It appears as though they got new carts recently that have GPS, so you have you have distances to the pin right there in the cart, which is very convenienct! The guys/gals in the Pro Shop are always professional and friendly & the same goes for the Starters at Tee-box number 1! The driving range is also nice and there's a cool little 3 hole practice course as well, I think it's three par 4's but not positive on that?
Just a heads up here, it's a pretty long course from any of the Tee-boxes, but a lot of the fairways are pretty wide. Also, a lot of shots will run toward the river and that would be on the fairways and the greens.
Hope this helps! 👍
UNM south championship golf course is always a challenging course but it offers some of the best holes to golf in all of NM. The course is always in great shape, always has great greens and well taken care of fairways. Top 5 course in my ALL-TIME favorites courses.b
I love the twilight prices. You might not fit in 18 holes, but you definitely can get in around 15
Other than the course...James in the pro shop has no idea what customer service is. Very rude and doesn't like his job. Everyone else is great. Get rid of James and you have a great course. Would have gotten 5 stars if not for James.
One of my favorite NM courses. Challenging with great views of ABQ.
Great course. Fair value for the money. I recommend.
This is a great course that I play every time I’m in town. The three pictures I posted are the par 5 1st hole the par 3 monster 8th hole and the par 3 11th hole
This course was fun & challenging. Scenic views on almost every hole. It'll definitely test your skills. If you're a high handicapper you might find it difficult to play. The course is well maintained & was in great shape & for the price well with it. I'll definitely play this course again.
This is a true classic golf course. Friendly and down-to-earth staff, Nice practice facility with a large practice and chipping green. The course has more than enough to keep your attention with challenging doglegs and large elevated greens. Only 5 minutes from the airport making it a great place to get a last minute round in before taking off. The only downside is the course is hard to find since there''s really no clear sign posting.
Played April 2016. Course was in good shape. Greens were firm, but not rock hard, and very fast. Some greens are so hard you have to land it short, others are nice and soft so you go right at the pin. These you want to just land the green and have it roll out. Front nine is nice and wide, very forgiving. Back nine plays more narrow. Course seems long. (or I wasn't hitting them long that day!) Almost all my approach shots on par 4's seemed to be 160+ yds, even after a bomb drive. Walkable course, with some elevation changes, but tee-to-green is short. Would play again for sure.
UNM Championship Golf Course is one of the toughest courses in Albuquerque New Mexico. The key to this course in my opinion is keeping the ball on The Fairway to give yourself an opportunity on your approach shot.
One of the best courses you can play for the money. Very long, challenging course if you want it to be. Nice large greens once you get close, with plenty of punishing sand if you miss short, left or right.
Excellent condition , up hill and down sale, doglegs left and right , elevated greens , some tough holes and a couple of easy ones . I was told you needed to be accurate, but not really . Excellent bunker placement and condition . VERY fast greens . Very enjoyable !!!.
Awesome course, but push back the last call time. We got recalled at 7:15 and the sun was up till 8! Thanks for keeping the course awesome though!!!
Nice round of golf on a well-maintained course. Great practice facility. Staff is friendly and awesome. Great rate after 2pm.
A breathtaking course with an unbelievable staff. I wanted my boyfriend to enjoy a round while we were traveling and they went the extra mile to make sure everyone in the party was taken of. We will be sure to come back next time we are in town.
course is in excellent shape year round. have played several times. practice facilities are top notch and the course itself provides a challenge to skilled golfers. The greens are in good condition- fast. i recommend it to anyone visiting albuquerque
The Championship Golf Course - University of New Mexico is a championship layout that ranks with some of the best in New Mexico. This desert-style course provides a wonderful test for your all-round game, with many attractive, skilfully crafted and challenging holes to enjoy. A must play if you are in the area.
Beautiful and tough. Fastest greens this side of the Rio Grande. Bring your A game. Not a beginner course. Intermediate to advanced play.
It was great to be able to get out and play. The course was in great shape. They did respect the boundaries in regards to Covid 19.
The bacon cheese burger was top notch of my satisfaction.
Everything was great. Greens were in GREAT condition! The price was good too! Good fun!
One of the best courses in New Mexico. Hard but fair, beautiful greens and fairways, great price compared to the resort courses.
Always a challenging course to play. Very well taken care of and not too expensive either.
Great course. But very tough. Usually easy to get on during the weekdays. That's why I play here.
Just used practice area, nice driving range, chipping green with sand bunker and a good putting green.
Great spring conditions! One of my all time favorite courses.

Spectacular round of golf
Superb golf course! An extraordinary view of the plateau and the city of Albuquerque. We come across rabbits, hares, roadrunners and coyotes! Very affordable, the course is magnificent but nevertheless remains complex to play.
