These guys did an excellent job and they were able to get out to my house morning of this horrible breaker failure. Dan Schlemmer really knows what he's doing and answered a lot of my questions. Past contractor did zero insulation from the city feed, which resulted in years of condensation and eventually - kaboom. So happy to have it replaced same day and I didn't even have to throw any food away. Again, great job and highly recommend.

We desperately needed a professional electrician to come to our house and fix our pool electrical and Dan Schlemmer and his crew definitely delivered. Not only was he very professional, he got the job done quickly and the wiring was so great, our pool maintenance guy commented on how good it looked making his job very easy! After the pool electrical installation, Dan was also generous enough to help us with a LED light panel we were having issues with. Again, he was more than willing to help us! We loved his great customer service, added them to our call list and will definitely use them again as well as refer them to our friends and family in the Bloomington area.

I could not be more pleased with the service I received from Dan Schlemmer. He made an appointment, arrived on time and spent all the time it took to complete my very challenging job on my older home. I had only one kitchen outlet working and my dining room also with no power to outlets. Dan was persistent with troubleshooting and did not quit until he located the problem, including a trip to the hot attic and the basement. Dan was polite, professional and explained every step of the job. Plus, the price for this difficult job completed was more than fair! Oh, I forgot - he also fixed the ceiling fan/light that was not working. I highly recommend this business based on my experience with Dan and initially with Jim who took the time to troubleshoot over the phone before I even had an appointment. 5 of 5 stars to Schlemmer Electric!

Thanksgiving weekend and I lost power to my furnace, upstairs refrigerator, and downstairs refrigerator. One call to Schlemmer Electric and problem solved! Dan restored temporary power to the furnace and refrigerators in less than an hour. Jesse replaced the 40 year old circuit panel early the next week. Great service! Great value! I will use them in the future.

This company recently installed a new breaker box for my Son's home at 1444 Nevada Ave. S. St louis Park, MN I want to compliment the fine electricians who came and did the installation of the breaker box and also installed some outdoor lighting. Their work was excellent! Jesse and his assistant were able to come to our house in a timely manner. We had lost power in a portion of our house, but couldn't determine which circuit it was on by simply turning on and off breakers. Jesse had to spend time in the around the house and in attic to find the most likely site of the issue. Fortunately, after examining various circuits, he successfully found where the problem was. We were very grateful for his ability to find the issue and quickly repair it once found. We now have power restored to our entire house!

I had a tree branch fall on my exterior meter box and almost knock it off the side of the house. I put in an online request for service on their website and was contacted within 15 minutes. The repairmen were at my house within the next two hours and had completely replaced/repaired the damage within two more. They were very courteous and efficient. OMG!!! As a retired General Contractor, Dan and Mike were awesome AND amazing on the job!!! We purchased a new hot tub, and these two had it wired up, and fired up in a matter of hours!!! BUT, Dan also found some major issues in our electrical panel during the install….. fortunately, being a “retired” contractor, (you never really retire from that profession), I knew what he, Dan was talking about, and agreed with upgrading the entire panel…. Whole house surge protector, new grounding and rods, more safe circuit breakers, etc….. They showed up as expected, and several hours later, BEAUTIFUL JOB was WELL DONE and really cleaned up!!!! AND NO MORE BLINKING, FLASHING LIGHTS and electrical problems!!! I really trust these guys, and plan on having them back for a couple future projects soon… seriously, from a former general contractor, I wish I’d have been in contact with these guys years ago!!! Two thumbs up for Schlemmer Electric 👍👍

Moved into a 51-year old house, went to update some of the switches and outlets, and got in over my head. Called around when I had two circuits that wouldn't come back up, nobody had any availability until I talked to Schlemmer Electricians. They squeezed me in by the end of that day and had everything taken care of within 90 minutes - one circuit was from a dimmer that was burned out, the other was from a mis-wired 3-way switch at the ceiling fixture (I swear, not my fault!). Total bill was $163, very reasonable considering time and materials spent, same-day service, and that half of our house had been without power for several days ;) Will definitely use again. 2021 Edit: Schlemmer's endorsement of Trump in the 2020 campaign was unfortunate for doing business with them in the future. Their continued endorsement of Trump and Back The Blue after the election, the run-up to the insurrection attempt on Jan 6th, and even after the insurrection was put down is beyond the pale. I will leave up this 5 star review for the work they performed in 2018 but I will never employ them again.

It's Friday night and the elevator in our three story, 57 unit condominium building just stopped working. After looking all night, Jim (the owner) finally found a potential source for our very unusual fuse assembly. Shawn (the journeyman technician) arrived on Saturday morning and got us back up and running. Jim Schlemmer was a life-saver! Around 8:00PM tonight I discovered I had no power in my basement outlets. After flipping some circuit breakers on my own I had lost power in many parts of my home. The Schlemmer Electric team is INCREDIBLE. Our electrical cut out in our entire house on the morning of a snow storm. Shawn and his team showed up within an hour of me calling. We called Schlemmer Electricians to conduct a service call and check a breaker issue we were experiencing when running our dishwasher. They fit us in right away, quickly replaced an old breaker, and even took some extra time to quickly install a light switch and new ceiling light to replace a chain-pull light that had broken earlier that same day. They were very friendly, professional, and took the time to explain the issue to me while doing the work so that I understood what was being replaced. I contacted Jim through their number listed on google where I found the company. I received a quote from Bonfe that was seemingly a high price. After talking to Jim the services I was quoted at were 1k less expensive. Called Jim on a Friday and his son Dan was out first thing Monday morning. They are both amazing to work with : respectful, knowledgeable, professional, and kind. Thanks to Schlemmer electric I can run more than one AC unit at a time. But what they do have is pride in quality work, they stood by everything they said they'd do, were always on time, and were fair in pricing. Showed up on time, very quickly diagnosed the issue (a loose connection on a light fixture I had recently installed) and even addressed a few issues with the breaker that were not necessarily up to code. Hats off to Schlemmer Electricians. All around great experience from first contact calling in a panic when a 3rd of our house was without electricity. The electrical panel we had was a federal pacific and know it would need to be replaced. Jim keep things calm and was able to swing by and take a look at things gave a great price on the panel install. Dan came out for the install was very professional even when having to wait on Excel energy to come and turn power off to the meter. As it seemded the meter lugs crumbled when the cables were removed when replacing the the breaker box. This meant the breaker box needed to be replaced as well. They quote a good price on the meter box as well. Got the meter box and breaker panel in and flipped breakers on and same breaker tripped as was with the old panel. This begin a trace of wires which Dan was once again very professional about even after a long day of the earlier work. Masterfully navigating from hallway lights to rooms to eventually finding a shorted out outlet. Fixed up the fried wires, put everything back together replacing wire nuts where needed and making it look pretty again. Very very happy would recommend to anyone. Will be calling Schlemmer to do more work in the future and recommending to anyone that asks or mentions electrical issues. I cannot thank your company enough.

Update: Jim the owner personally reached out to me about my concerns and worked diligently to make it right. I must say, I am very impressed with how professional and nice everyone continued to be. He was able to pull in another electrician to get the work that needed to be done for me in a very timely fashion. Overall, I would recommend them and would use them again in the future if the need arises. I am so very disappointed with the follow up I received from this company. After reading all the positive reviews, I was confident I had found the right company to help with our “new-to-us” home. I called them 1.5 months ago and was told to put in a service request via the website and call the city to see what permits had been pulled on my house. I immediately did both. More than two weeks later, I had not received a call to schedule the work. I emailed Jim asking to have someone call me. A day later, I got a call from Shawn. He said he was booked through the middle of October. I told him that was fine and was just happy that someone called me to schedule a visit. He asked me to call him at the beginning of October to confirm his visit which I did. I called him again a week later when I had not received a response. Again, nothing. I feel fooled that I allowed this to go on for more than a month but as I stated before, I was confident that they would have been able to help me based on so many positive reviews.

I called Schlemmer electric in the morning for a bid on updating electrical panel, new outlet, fixing kitchen fan and ceiling fan installation, Shawn came out that afternoon and we talked about what i wanted done, he also showed me some updates to bring us to code. He gave me a very fair estimate very close to what i was expecting from my online cost research and told me he would call back with a date and time, he called the next morning and he could come out on Friday at 8am. Lost power to HVAC. Called HVAC repair, they inspected and determined it was an electrical problem. Called Schlemmer Electric, explained the problem to Shawn Berktold. He had me take pictures of my electric panel and meter. He determined I had an outdated and out of code panel that was rusted which was causing the problem. My house panel was an unusual setup and required coordination with the power company. He handled all of that scheduled with me and the power company, came at the scheduled time, completed the job sooner than expected and for the amount quoted. I would recommend them to my friends and anyone else. Reasonable prices and good service.

I called to get verbal estimate for a fuse box replacement. They quoted me a price beating my estimate from another established company significantly. They worked around my schedule and completed the work without issue or incident. Not a trace of material was left on the floor. Invoice was exactly what was estimated no additional charges. Eagle Mechanical fixed my furnace in a few hours time at very reasonable cost. Thanks to Jon who knows his trade. I highly recommend both companies if you need repairs or advice you will not get from most heating and cooling companies, seemingly not familiar with how to repair older equipment and only interested in selling new systems.

The electrician provided a detailed explanation of the work to be done, and followed that up with a written quote. An appointment was scheduled and the work was done within the time frame provided. Contacted Schlemmer Electric to have a couple of ceiling fans installed. One room had no fan and needed braced, and the other was on a high ceiling. What would've taken me 7 hours on a Saturday full of 4 letter words and frustration took Shawn 2 hours. I know it's done right, and I felt like the price was reasonable.

I needed an electrician spur of the moment to disconnect systems furniture at a clients office and cold-called Jim at Schlemmer Electric. Jim didn't know anything about me or our Company but scheduled Shawn for the disconnect. Shawn showed up on time, disconnected the electrical and phone line from cubicle which was being discarded and also separated the furniture so Vendor disposing of the furniture didn't have to. Their pricing was very fair and I would recommend Schlemmer Electric and look forward to working with them in the future.

My business was without overhead lights. I went to the Richfield Electric website and put in my info. I had a call within a half hour from Schlemmer Electric. They had someone out in about a half hour who diagnosed the problem in under 10 minutes and had it fixed in 20 minutes. Awesome service.
