I'm a first time homebuyer in my twenties, I know nothing about electrical issues (or any other trade for that matter), and we purchased our home in 2020. It was still connected to its original 1957 fuse box. We (my husband and I) weren't even sure if the home was grounded. Needless to say, I was nervous about getting someone to come take a look at things. Fast forward to almost a year later, I reached out to Dr. Electric and left a voicemail saying I would like to be updated to a modern breaker panel. My number resembled a spam number at first glance so he didn't immediately answer, but when he called me back, he apologized and after I gave the green light, immediately started getting the supplies together he needed. He asked for a couple pictures of our fuse box and outside set up. He gave a quote then and there that even included the cost of the permit. Everything was very reasonable and fair. He was at my home within two days getting our home sorted. He was clear, friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and really seemed to take pride in his work. And he even gave my dog some treats (after asking permission, of course). My house was stubborn. It was "one of those days", you know? A job that should have taken him 6 hours on an average day, took almost 12. There was paint so thick on the side of the house from the last owner, that he had to spend hours in hot, summer, after-rain humidity banging away just to get a piece on the outside of our house loose so he could get working. He was really put through the wringer. His favorite drill broke, he had to run to the hardware store; he ran out of daylight, he couldn't even bring his dog, Rosie, who has been his work buddy for over a decade. I was concerned he wouldn't be able to get it done before it simply got too late but he saw it through from beginning to end. Everything was taken apart, installed, put back together, tested, labeled, and cleaned up. He threw in a 5yr warranty and kept true to his original quote, despite all the extra hours. Not once did I hear Steve complain. I am very, very pleased with this service and will be calling him first before anyone else.

Dr. Electric was very knowledgeable, not only did he find the problem, but he cleaned up some wires that were old and had a lot of extra wire connected. I watched everything he did, he really knew what was going on with the wiring in the house, which is an old house, so things are not always as simple are as up to code as newer houses. I am pleased with his work and I enjoyed talking to him that's why I gave him 5 stars, as far as price goes, I think we all want to spend the least possible and I'm not an expert on electrical prices but I have had work done before and I wouldn't say Dr. Electric is cheap but fair and with covid and the economy we all have to make adjustments when it comes to money so I can't take anything away for that. All and all I would use Dr. Electric again and recommend him to family.

Steve did an outstanding job on my major electrical issue. I needed my entire Electrical Breaker Box and wiring replaced. I had quotes of $6,000 from Bryant Heating/Cooling and Electrical. I had pending scheduled estimates from Allen Electric for an earliest visit date of October 12th ( 3 1/2 weeks out). When I contacted Steve at Dr. Electric, he was at my house within a few hours. Steve quoted me half for what Bryant Heating/Cooling and Electrical quoted. Dr. Electric completed the entire project for 50% less. Steve is pleasant to talk to and is very professional with his work. He showed up early the following day and did not stop working until he was finished the job in the late afternoon. It is refreshing to know that there is someone out there who is willing to do these kind of difficult skilled jobs at reasonable prices. These big, known names company's in Louisville will take your money if you let them. Do your homework and call others for quotes. But for your Electrical needs, call Steve at Dr. Electric. He does high quality work at a fair price.

Dr Electric installed 4 new LED light fixtures in my new home. This house is very old and Dr Electric was able to replace the old brittle wires and got all the lights working. Would definitely recommend.

If you are going to get electrical work done, there is no one better around here than Steve at Dr Electric. I called five different electricians and he is the only one that called me back(Same day call back) He came out the next day and did the estimate, which was extremely fairly priced. On top of that he just went ahead and started since he was here. He worked long hours to get it all done that day. This included replacement of the entire breaker box, due to rust he found from a flood years ago. He installed an exterior outlet, 3 new outlets ran, and five old ones replaced. All top quality work. He was very professional, kind, and knew his stuff. He also explained everything and made certain it was all safe.I was very happy with the entire experience. I also made sure to give him bacon treats for his doggo Rosie on the ride home. A++++

We needed an electrician on short notice. We had a smoke detector wire and garbage disposal switch to repair just in time for home inspections. We called everywhere with no luck but found Dr. Electric (Steve) via Google search. Even with a packed schedule, he was more than willing to fit us in on the same day. We called on a Thursday evening requesting some work to be done on Friday. We were told that he was very booked on Friday and we said we could probably wait until Saturday. He asked if we were available in about 30 minutes and we were like "Well, sure!!!" So, he came right over and had our issue fixed within about an hour of when we first called him. Mind you, this was at around 7 pm! He only charged about 1/3rd of what we paid for someone else to create the issue that we were having! He also fixed a few smaller things with our electric box for no extra charge. In fact, there was no extra charge for coming after normal business hours either! I really cannot recommend this guy enough! We are so very appreciative of his business!

I lost power to about half of my house on New Years Eve including my circuit with my furnace on it. Called the HVAC co and had them out around 3, they couldn't findanything so I called Steve at about 330 on NYE, he showed up around 6-630 and stayed to work on my house until 930! On a holiday no less! Turns out I needed to get my whole service entrance, meter, and fuse box replaced due to a hot wire and a burnt out socket that could have posed a serious safety issue to our home and family. Steve and his partner were very thorough and let me walk through the house with him as he checked all outlets, switches and fixtures for the short, all while explaining to me what he was doing and why. Steve then quoted me a great price for the entire replacement and came out on Saturday (the day after New Years) to do all the work. Great service, a great attitude and someone I would highly recommend to anyone, big job or little. My greatest compliment besides them being efficient and quick was that I called him on a holiday and within a 48 hr time period ( remember the holiday! ) I had a brand new circuit breaker panel, meter and service entrance. Again, I would highly recommend them to anyone.

After a major thunder storm, a tree came down in my elderly parents' front yard--taking the power line with it! The situation was even more complicated by the fact that I don't live in the area! After a Google search, I found Dr. Electric. Though I had no other information on them--other than they advertised being available 24/7--I took a chance and called at 10:30 that night. Despite the short notice, along with the need to pull a permit, Steve was at my parents' front door by 9:30 the next morning! By that time, Steve had already spoken with the L.G. & E. repairman to get specific information on what needed to be done. I found Steve and his team to be extremely professional, prompt, courteous, and patient with my parents. He stayed in touch to let me know what was going on. More important, he offered the best, most cost-effective solutions, showed up on time, and finished the work promptly. Good work at a fair price. This is a small operation so getting someone on the phone does not happen right away every time but your call will be returned. I thought the quoted hourly rate was a bit high at first but there was two guys and they HUSTLED! I would not hesitate to call again.

A Great Guy!! A few months ago we started noticing problems with one of the outlets in our basement, it began to get very hot if something was plugged into it so we stopped using that particular outlet. Of course we figured everything was okay and we'd get an electrician out at a later time. Well a few months later I was using the computer and my husband was feeding our dog. Suddenly the computer turned off. I instantly thought our computer burned out but my husband noticed the tv, sound bar and cable box was also off. Suddenly we heard sizzling noises as I'd something was being shocked coming from the same outlet that I mentioned earlier that had nothing plugged into it. We both became very concerned so we began searching for a electrician. I began a little worried because I've always figured electricians were very expensive so I prepared myself for a huge bill. Luckily I came across Dr. Electric, read the reviews and decided to give a call. I talked to Tim who was very kind and polite and assured me he would be out Monday morning seeing how I called on a Sunday which was perfectly fine. Arrived 30 minutes before scheduled time and fixed the issue. He kindly showed up the fried wires that were in our walls and explained exactly what happened. I called the Doctor around 9:00am on a Friday to start service for a house a just rebuild, he was there before 1:00pm, then had a box up and ready for LE&E around 6:00pm. I met Gary when he wasn't working one day and he took a look at my electrical wiring in the attic. I had told him that I have had a number of flickering issues with many of the lighting and power components. He was super informative about the house details. Explained how back in the day houses were constructed using aluminum wiring that is easily corrosive and able to deteriorate the quality of the electrical signal. He did not see any issues with the circuit breaker or its connections. He gave me suggestion on how to replace the wiring with what I believe was copper wiring with better rubber cabling. This would allow the energy to be more effient and most of all prevent potential fires with faulty wiring. It's a shame he didn't have his tools because he was on holiday, however he left me with a comforting feeling with the things that I needed to do to preserve my home and keep it safe. Steve (Dr. Electric) saved me a fortune. I called one of the franchise companies about problems with two or three plugs and a light not working in my basement. The first company sent a tech adviser, who checked the panel and then began checking plugs. He reset one GFI and the plug started working. I asked him if he thought that was the problem throughout and he said no. He then went around to several plugs with his indicator showing one yellow light for ground/hot reversed. He quoted over $2,000 for “redevicing” all outlets and switches in basement (~25 devices), installing a surge suppressor, and installing 2 new GFIs. I then called Dr. Electric (Steve). He isolated the original issue (the wires in one GFI--the one that the first guy said was not the problem--were loose). He also installed a surge suppressor. He charged around $500 for labor and the surge suppressor. Obviously Steve knew what he was doing and was not going to take advantage of me. He came out the very day I called him, he worked quickly, and he explained everything he was doing. He was honest and he treated me with respect. So--I highly recommend that you call Steve (Dr. Electric) first!!!
