I absolutely loved every moment of being taught at this school. The driving instructor was very patient and friendly, the teaching staff was very well informed and well spoken. I enrolled in this academy dreading the endless browbeating by a driving instructor, and graduated stunned on how learning to drive could be so easy and enjoyable. Two hats off to Mr. Muralles and Mr. Wilson of Drive Dat Academy!

My experience with Mr. Mike was the best! He always made me feel comfortable while I was driving and always had me laughing! I had a great time with Mr. Mike. Even when I was freaking out a little he made sure I was okay. Best driving instructor ever!!! Also Mr. Mario was so nice when I was given my written driving test and helped me when I was confused and was very nice to me. If I could I would rate 10 stars because these people are just amazing and so friendly!! I would totally recommend DriveDat to anyone that is interested in coming here!!

What a great place! I will admit that when I started my first class I was a bit nervous but the instructor made it a stress free zone and was a very funny man. He was also my driving instructor and let me just tell you that you quickly forget that you are under observation with him. He holds conversations and is also attentive and will let you know what you need to work on. Will definitely recommend to all who are looking to get their Drivers License. I made the right choice in enrolling at Drive Dat Academy. Who could have thought that 4 weeks ago, I was so afraid to drive. But after completing my 8-hour required driving with my great instructors, I can now drive. Drive Dat is a very reputable driving school that stands behind their work. The driving instruction is very thorough and they want to see you succeed and want you to be a good well informed driver. I had two different drivers for my instruction, Mr. Mike and Mr. Kevin. If you're looking for someone who is more soft spoken get Mr. Kevin. He's patient and will explain everything to you as you drive. He's the car instructor(Nissan Altima I believe) However if you do not have a lot of time to get your license and are older and can take a bit of teasing and hold a conversation while driving definitely get Mr. Mike. He is very animated and direct with his teaching. If you do something wrong, like Kevin, he'll simply say what it was and never to do it again. He has stories about everything and his instructing is top notch as well. But, if you are leery about driving an SUV get someone else. He only does his driving instruction in an SUV. I was able to take my 8 hours of driving instruction and passed my test on the first try so these guys are definitely the way to go!!!

I enjoyed the entire process of being able to pursue getting a license. In the middle of a pandemic this office managed to get me in a class, get a TIP , and get me on the road driving within 2 months. Not bad with all that is going on. Everyone there is so lovely, professional, and it was so worth my money. This is the place to go, its hands on, they actually care about you as a person, and they are the sweetest! I wish I could rate 10 starts because I would. Mr.Mario, Ms. Vivian, Mr. Mike, and Mr.Kevin all provided joy and knowledge throughout the entire process of me learning to drive and receiving my license. This is an amazing Driving School!!

I never leave reviews on any page but this one deserves it. I loved them all, especially Mr.Kevin and Ms.Sharon for being so patient with me. Best driving experience ! Drive Dat Academy is a driving school that I would recommend to anyone and everyone. I am a college student who needed to get my license and they helped me tremendously. They took their time out to help me get my driving ours and driving test done before returning to school. They are very willing to help and are very patient. If you have no experience before attending there is no need to be scared because they will have you prepared for the test and ready to get your license in no time. This is definitely the driving school to go to!

Drive Dat’s atmosphere was one that included both learning and also safeness due to COVID. The company took necessary actions to ensure each of the students, including myself, were safe and followed state protocol by wearing a mask and social distancing of six feet. I was able to learn how to be a responsible and safe driver during the in classroom portion and was able to quickly grasp how to be a knowledgeable motorist behind the wheel. Thanks to Mr. Mike, my driving instructor, I was able to obtain my license as soon as possible and learned how to drive on the interstate. I would recommend Drive Dat to anyone who wishes to learn in a calm and collective atmosphere and who wants to work with individuals who strive to teach safe driving practices.

Mario, the owner, had confidence in me and that helped a lot. He was very easy to talk to which helps the driver to feel less overwhelmed than they might otherwise feel during a lesson with a parent or a school based teacher with peers in the car. I think I feel ready to get on the road now which opens up job opportunities for me and which therefore can be life changing. I highly recommend him to any student driver. He teaches all of the nuances regarding distance behind cars while driving to avoid rear end collisions for which the driver that collided will be the one at fault according to the insurance carriers. All sorts of things regarding rules of the road and how to avoid tickets. This was a great experience and well worth it. Thanks Mario!

They were a real good driving school. My mother wanted me to take the written portion of the test again, and it was pretty informative about some of the basic guidelines for noticing things while you drive. I have T1 diabetes so I had to get clearance from my doctor before I was able to set up driving lessons but that went extremely quickly, the only time it took was waiting for my doctor to sign off on it. There was a bunch of food and drinks during the written session too. The driving lessons themselves were great, I did 2 4-hour sessions on subsequent days. Scheduling the lessons was real easy. Mario was a pretty great teacher he was able to effectively teach me all the things I needed to know and we talked quite a bit about stuff over the 8 hours. My friend also took the lesson with me and since he took the driving test right after me he only charged us for the use of the car once.

This is by far the best place to get your license. The instructor that I had mike is the funniest person I've met in a long time. Drive dat is very professional and very fast I had my license 13 days after I started. My road skills test was done by Kevin and I couldn't have asked for it to go any smoother he's definitely a reassuring presence to have. All in all if you're looking to get your license this is the place to go I couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you drive dat.

I had even obtained my learner’s permit through another school that was not able to help me over come my fears. Mr. Mario is an excellent instructor and was very patient. This is a good driving school. The teachers are really patient. They will go over until you get it without any complaints. The written part and the driving part are really easy because they take their time and actually teach you. I promise you if you come to this school you won't regret it.

This is one of the best driving schools I know of, they arrange to pick you up and drop you off to take the driving part of the class. Also the third party test can be taken here.! Awesome! Very professional and courteous. I am a law enforcement officer and my 18 year old son went to this academy. He received the training and certifications he needed and most importantly, this academy is state certified. After completion we went to the DMV and obtained my son's license, that was it! Simple! TL;DR: Go here for your driver's ed, driving lessons, and license test. It is affordable, reliable, and taught by real, certified teachers (not just some random adult looking to make a quick buck). I scheduled an appointment here and they surprisingly had a spot open for me at around 6-7 p.m. (pretty good since most places close at around 3 or 4 p.m). My emails (use email to set appointments after 5 p.m.) to set up my test were quickly replied to, about 20 minutes to an hour; times may vary since I had school and couldn't reply most of the time. There are two options to do your test : (1) $40 to drive your car or (2) $60 to drive the company's car (which I chose, Honda CRV). I was a bit nervous since I expected to go right into testing when I hopped into the car, but it wasn't like that at all. The examiner (Mario, owner of the academy) drove to my home, and we did some paper work then went for a "pre-drive". The drive to the academy was for me to get a feel of how the car drove and go over some important driving laws to follow. We made some conversation and then went into testing when we passed the academy. The test was not difficult at all! You pretty much drove around the area and went back into the academy then were told your score. The "pre-driving" definitely helped to prep me up for the actual test. After getting my driving papers, (and a cool DriveDat wallet-sticker-card-holder type of thing) there were some things that I learned about the academy. The academy is MUCH, (emphasis is needed here) much more informative than a certain driving academy that has the initials V.M. He asked me a few questions such as how to open the car's hood or changing the radiator, and I honestly didn't know (I went to said driving academy). His students are in a true classroom environment (Mario has a master's in education) with about 20 teens in a spacious room. They really learn the laws of the road and typically leave with a good understanding of driving. The tests they take are all electronic (exception of the actual test for obvious reasons), which is nice since you get to be on your phone. His workers are all certified (saw all the plaques on the wall) and some are ex-employees of V.M. So, they probably know a thing or two about teaching driver's ed. After passing the writing test, the driving lessons usually take up to a month and half or less to schedule. Which is not a very long waiting period since I took mine about 2 months after my written test since there were so many people waiting to get their lessons over with. *I did not go to the school, but after learning about it, I wish I did! The info provided about the school was told to me by Mario Muralles. I will definitely tell my sister to go here.

I’m very happy with my experience of drive dat academy. I had taken my written and driving portions of getting my license at lingle, which was terrible. I then tried to set up the road test with them and could never get a time set up. So I then wanted to find somewhere else. I looked on google and found drive dat. I called them and they said they usually only give them on Fridays. They made an exception on a Sunday. This was Mr. Mike’s day off, I was able to get it done in less than 2 hours since i had called, they were very nice and Mr. Mike was extremely funny. I would recommend this school only to my friends. I wish I wouldve taken everything there.

Before taking this class and driving with Mario I was scared to drive. Now I'm confident in my abilities. The school has that personal touch that the other schools do not have. From class to lisence is much quicker than the other schools as well. If you need someone to help ease your fears or turn you into a quality defensive driver this is the place.

If I could go back in time (specifically January 8th, 2017), and tell my past self to go here instead of Victor Manning, I would've done so faster than motor neurons transmitting information from the brain. I went to Victor Manning for the written test, 8 hrs behind the wheel, and my road skills test, and the only good experience I had was Mr. Michael who instructed me during my 8 hrs; he was very kind and was really a good instructor. As for my written test and my road skills test, I had the teacher (middle aged African American female, unfortunately I don't remember her name) for both written test and road skills test. During my written test, she interrupted the class THREE TIMES to talk to people in the middle of class, and during break time (I chose to study basically everything in those matter of hours you have), she was chewing on her chips and smacking very loudly, with me being the only student in the class trying to take things seriously and study. When it came time for my road skills test, there was some communication problems between my boyfriend and her. She informed me she would take me back once I knew how to turn the lights on, but told my boyfriend she was going to take me another day. Before I even began my test, I was already an emotionally uneasy driver. Now I know the mistakes I made when I failed the test the first time, and take full responsibility, but I was not treated the way I should've been treated. Going down on Veterans, right in front of the Toys R Us, as I was making a left turn, she yelled at me that she wasn't going to die today, and that she would walk over to the school if she had to, because I wasn't going under the speed limit during drizzle rain. At that moment, I was shot mentally and didn't care if I passed or not; I went home crying because of her yelling at me and feeling my confidence drop. After more than a month, I found this place on Google, and decided to make an appointment to take the road skills test again. Ms. Sherron was so so nice to me as I was making the appointment, and I knew I chose the right place this time. What was very funny was that Mr. Muralles, the owner, he was my 10th grade Biology teacher and my boyfriend's teacher from East Jefferson High School. I had a feeling he was the owner when I saw there was a syllabus on the website, and once I saw his face, I knew it was typical of him to have made the syllabus. He was my test instructor today for the road skills test, and I passed today. He was so kind to me, i almost wanted to cry. From being yelled at to him telling me I was doing great as I was taking the test, I was so relieved. Still need to work on little things, but because of Mr Muralles, Ms Sherron, and my boyfriend believing in me, I'm more than confident to know I can only get better. Again, if only I could've found this place before Victor Manning, I would've done so. My boyfriend even told me that Ms Sherron talked to him during my test because she was a New Orleans EMT and my boyfriends a New Orleans officer. When she told me they treat the people that come into their business like family, she's not even joking. I felt like I was in a family home that I enjoy being at. These people really do care about their students, the parents, and individuals like me. Thank y'all so so much for today. Y'all have really given me the best experience ever, and my boyfriend and I agree together that y'all deserve a lot of business. I can see y'all give such an amazing education to teenagers and other alike. I'm wearing that phone sticker wallet with pride and gratitude, and I'll make sure to tell my FB people to check this place out to get the drivers license here if they have teens ready to drive or others ready to drive. I would've given this place ten stars if there was more stars. This is the place to get the drivers license at. I highly recommend this place so so much. I promise you, you will not regret it.
