When dealing with Dr. Coogan and his staff there at TOA, I consistently felt cared for and secure. Dr. Coogan’s knowledge and attention to detail was very much appreciated as was his friendly yet professional manner. The results of my bilateral carpal tunnel surgery yielded amazing results with significant improvements in function in both of my hands. One hand was questionable as to possibility of success due to significant limitations, but extremely positive results occurred. Significant improvements have been seen in carrying out daily activities such as opening containers, manipulating fasteners, and especially in fixing my granddaughters’ hair. I would highly recommend Dr. Coogan to minimize any hand difficulties.

Unfortunately I had an accident at my workplace and a friend referred with Doctor Coogan, De Coogan is a very professional, empathetic and humanitarian person. He clearly explains what is happening with your affected area and so you can understand it well. He ordered my x-rays my scan and followed a very easy process with him, fortunately he did the surgery on my elbow and the result was very satisfactory The whole process with him was extremely easy For these reasons and others I highly recommend the doctor Coogan. Dr. Coogan is an amazing doctor! He is kind and caring. After be a massage therapist for over 27 years I had destroyed my CMC joints in both my thumbs. The reviews were great however I did not expect to have the amazing service that I did. Being in the medical field you kind of set higher standards for those that care for you. Dr. Coogan is one of the most comapssionate and talented surgeons we have encountered in my husband's diabetes journey. Before he began getting his blood sugar under control, we literally watched two of his fingers die in a matter of half an hour. We met Dr. Coogan in the ER and he took excellent care of my husband. He wasn't able to save the fingers, but he was able to leave stumps long enough he has some function. My husband's follow up care was excellent and now even 7 years later, if anything at all happens with his hands, all I have to do is call Dr. Coogan's staff and we usually get in to see him within a day or two. When he is meeting with his patient he is very personable and he is able to speak to his patient in a way the patient understands his care and treatment plan. Dr. Coogan sees the person behind the injury. That is true patient care. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you Dr. Coogan!

I met with Dr. Coogan just a couple days after a sagittal band tear, and by the Friday of the same week I was in surgery. My operation was I’m sure quite minor and Dr. Coogan was very frank about what my odds of recovery would be with or without surgery and he made no attempt to persuade me in either direction. I opted for the surgery, because I wanted the best odds for returning to full normal function. The staff at TOA were helpful and skilled and took great care of me. I will say that communication within the department could use some improvement as sometimes people weren’t sure why I was there or what we were doing regarding splints/therapy, but they always took it in stride and everything worked out. I’m thankful for everyone at 8 city blvd, they did an outstanding job. I would recommend Dr. Coogan and staff without hesitation, and wish them all the best.

I had to have my wrist fused and carpal tunnel and it isn’t a fun surgery to say the least but the dr has been excellent. Highly recommend him. He has an excellent bedside manner and seems like he genuinely cares about you and double checks on you to make sure you are good and taken care of.

I've been to many of the physicians at TOA. I don't mean to downplay any of the others who always provide great care, just to provide as reference. I saw Dr. Coogan for an arm issue and my usual physician was on vacation. Dr. Coogan spent a good deal of time going through my history (of my arm and general visits to TOA) and getting to know me. We looked at my scans. And then he went through the courses of treatment that could be taken. From first steps to most aggressive (surgery). He let me make the decision (least aggressive, a support) and then said that was a good way to go for the time being. I truly felt that Dr. Coogan was there as my health consultant to ensure that I had the best, most successful outcome. I highly recommend him. Also, look up his education. Very impressive.

After I badley broke my wrist last year. It hade to be surgically plated and screwed. Everything went well but I did develop carpal tunnel, as I was warned about the possibility. Also one of the screws did create a problem. After meeting with Dr. Coogan the decision was made to remove the hardware and do a carpal tunnel release. Dr Coogan listen to me and my concerns and answers all my questions. He did the surgery and I'm happy to say I had no pain after the surgery. Just a week after surgery my wrist feels so much better. I highly recommend Dr Coogan and his team.

I had painful carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome on both arms. Dr. Coogan decided to do surgery on my left arm first because of constant numbness and burning pain. The next day the pain was all gone, on both arms! Yes, even though he didn't touch the right arm, it cleared up too. I never even needed any medication or pain killers. Six days after surgery, he removed the bandages and the incisions were fully closed and not even red. The next week they were completely healed. I don't even think I will have any scars. I have worse problems from minor cuts. He is an amazing doctor and surgeon!
