Had melanoma removed by husband Dr Mays. Was very happy with his professional manner etc. Not so much with wife Dr Mays. She runs into room….no formalities of getting to know patient and runs out as if the building is on fire! She seemed rushed and I had never met her before. She did biopsy and out of the room in just a few minutes. Seemed to have no time for questions/concerns. My return visit for a complete body scan was the same…. Very quick …… I really don’t know how she could do a complete scan as fast as she did. Her assessment was that I had dandruff and she had special product out in front office to sell me. Not impressed with her at all. I don’t have the need to have a long personal conversation with her but I left there feeling as if she was hurried and I felt no concern/interest in me as a patient. I will be researching other dermatologist for my body scan at this point. My husband just returned from that office today. Dr Mays is on vacation and he was seen by a Nurse Practitioner. He said he was given much more info about his condition by the Nurse Practitioner than female Dr Mays has previously given him on his first consultation when she flew into the room in a world wind . As a matter of fact…the Nurse Practitioner was in disbelief that he wasn’t given certain info on his initial visit.

Rachel Wallace, APRN is super friendly and attentive. She takes the time to answer all of my questions and was comminted to finding a treatment plan that worked for me.

Dr. Mays is incredibly smart and fast. She can make a diagnosis quickly and get you better and her staff have all paperwork figured out ! My experience with her was waiting 5 minutes and then being put in a room and she was in within 30 seconds after that. She took one look at my rash and immediately knew what it was and discussed my treatment ( I have been to 5 other dermatologists before her who talked for hours but always told me they didn't know what i had). Sooooo she is super smart but fast. She is not for people that like hand holding. but if you want your skin condition treated and diagnosed quickly go to her !!!!

Mays Dermatology provided excellent consultation and treatment. Dr. Mays went over all the details prior to and during the treatment The office staff was professional and very efficient. The office is conveniently located in the heart of St. Matthews and is very clean, nicely decorated with minimal wait time. Would highly recommend this practice for all of your dermatology needs.
