Yesterday was my first time at Smiles of Wilmington and I have to say it was a stellar experience. As background I had to change from a very good dentist over a year ago due to them not accepting my insurance anymore and have been trying to find another dentist "home" for over a year. In between leaving my long time dentist and finding "Smiles" I had one bad experience with another dentist in the area and never went back. But from the moment I stepped in the Smiles office I was greeted very warmly and I immediately felt at ease. They even gave me a cute welcome 1st time customer gift that I thought was very thoughtful. The dental hygienist was very knowledgeable, and took her time explaining to me step by step what was going to be done. I received one of the most thorough cleanings I have gotten in a long time, every detail was not overlooked. The dentist was also very pleasant, and thorough and we talked about what steps I needed to do to get back to healthy mouth for my next visit. Needless to say I found my new Dentist home, and if you're looking for yours you shouldn't hesitate to check out Smiles of Wilmington.

Hygienist was very quick and efficient, while also being thorough and describing everything she observed while cleaning my teeth. She paused several times to be sure that I was comfortable, and was very careful, while also being very fast: I was done in 20 minutes! This is a very good practice: Dr. Rautio and her staff are very detail oriented, very professional, and extremely efficient.

I had a visit in early August; it was my first dentist visit since the start of the Covid pandemic. I have many circumstances which make me high risk, and honestly, I was concerned about this appointment. But Dr. Rautio and her staff took such wonderful care to ensure my safety (and theirs) and it was a very secure and comforting setting. I've been a dental phobic for most of my life, and Dr. Rautio has gotten me through that - I have even more trust in her now. I had a dental emergency this morning, I woke up in excruciating pain. Obviously, I called my mom, she recommended her dentist, I gave them a call, I was probably hard to understand because opening my mouth, having the air hit my tooth was THE WORST. Ciara answered the phone, she sounded like she really cared about something that was incredibly urgent to me. She found me the soonest appointment, which luckily was today, and answered any questions I had about my insurance. When I got into the office, the waiting room was nice and relaxing, big comfy chairs, and just an overall calming atmosphere. I forgot the name of my hygienist (I'm so sorry if you're reading this) but she was FANTASTIC. She took the time to address my concerns, educated me on proper oral hygiene, and she seriously went the extra mile to make sure she didn't hurt my already super sensitive teeth. The dentist (I don't want to butcher her last name!) Was amazing. She remembered my mom and my aunt, and really demonstrated that she truly cared about my health. Look, I'm heavily tattooed, 14 piercings on my face, half of my head is shaved, I get treated like garbage at a lot of places, but I was treated like any other person when I went into Smiles Of Wilmington. That truly was a big deal to me, and I appreciate how kind everyone was to me. THANK YOU SO MUCH SMILES OF WILMINGTON, YOU HAVE A PATIENT FOR LIFE NOW!!!

Dr Rautio and the staff at Smiles of Wilmington are amazing! Even after moving out of the area, we still make the 30 minute trip to see them for our dental health. I am almost finished Invisalign treatment with them and am super pleased with the results. People legit stop me on the street to comment on my perfect teeth! In closing, if your choppers are a mess and you are afraid of the dentist, they will work with you to get them better without making you feel bad for not taking care of your teeth. And they do it as painless as possible. They are good people, highly recommend!

I've had a few unpleasant fillings done in my life with other offices but Dr. Rautio is the best experience yet!! I usually had to wait almost an hour after they insert the numbing shot but Dr. Rautios office was ready and timely. I literally did not have any pain during the filling and I left very pleasantly surprised and happy. Best filling experience ever and I'm definitely coming for my next one here!! My son also goes to Dr. Rautio office and he loves the office. Staff is excellent and office is clean 😊👌👍.

I was so impressed with my son's experience I switched to her practice as well! Several years later and we are still with her and her amazing team! Before going to Smiles of Wilmington, I was not happy with the dentist I was going to. When my sister referred me to Dr. Rautio, I could not be anymore pleased. I was given full mouth X-rays and she found cavities my previous dentist did not notice. From there, I decided to begin Invisalign with her office and I’m so happy I waited to begin Invisalign with her staff. It was such an easy process and everyone was so nice. I highly recommend Dr. Rautio to anyone, you will not be disappointed.

I can't say enough about how professional, thorough, focused, respectful, pleasant, eager to please, and quality oriented this dentist portrays. Here's my story: I was going to another dentist and was not happy with their service. I had a dentist appointment with another office and felt so much anxiety from the pain that I felt every time I had to get my teeth cleaned since my gums were receding. I was trying to explain that to the dentist and he thought I was looking at the hygienist, but when I was explaining my concern, I turned around and the dentist was rolling his eyes at me. Right then and there I knew it was time to leave since I felt so disrespected. He didn't care about my feelings or if they were hurting me. It was time to listen to my husband since he always said how great Dr. Rautio was so I was anxious to meet her. OH MY GOSH is all I can say. I was elated how their entire process was carried throughout the office, from the enthusiastic front desk greeters to the dental assistant, dental hygienist to the miraculous Dr. Rautio. My anxiety started to diminish and Dr. Rautio and her workers became my lifelong friends. Going to the dentist now it's so relaxing knowing they are truly there to assist me and make my experience a pleasant and memorable one. I could go on and on, but you would have to get your teeth cleaned to understand the high quality of work and expertise that is evident in this office. I couldn't be prouder and honored to have such great people that work on my teeth! I tell everyone about this dentist office. 5 STARS NO DOUBT!!!!!

Best dentist I've ever had! I just started going to Dr. Rautio a few months ago, since my BFF said she was awesome. I hate the dentist, and doctors in general. I have a great smile, but I hate getting cleanings or anything that entails someone digging in my mouth. I hadn't had a cleaning in 2 yrs, to give you an idea of how ridiculous I am, but Dr. Rautio and her team of lovely ladies made me feel comfortable and joyful during my visit.
