My family sees Dr. Hartmann at South Western Dental and we couldn't be happier. She is kind, thoughtful, exceptionally skilled, and takes the time to ensure that her patients are comfortable. I called this morning and was able to get an emergency add-on appointment where she diagnosed and expertly fixed a broken tooth. And it was truly painless, as always. I would give 10 stars if I could!

Dental assistants at this office are really gentle during the scraping & cleaning, very professional. A few years back, I made a special appointment because of a sharp, persistent tooth pain. The dentist (Ellenbecker) probed & prodded, did x-rays, but said he could absolutely not find any problem, said to come back in a week or so if the pain still didn't subside. A few days later the pain went away. The dentist had a free golden ticket to do anything he wanted, but choses honesty over $$$. Very happy with this organization! Thanks!

I've been going to South Western Dental with my family for over 15 years. Recently, my youngest child who is 5 went in for a cleaning. Rachel cleaned her teeth and even though my daughter was very nervous, Rachel did the most amazing job getting her comfortable and even laughing during her appointment. Everyone is exceptionally friendly AND professional from reception staff to hygienists to my dentist! Prices are hefty, but not more than most other private dentistry offices.

New to town and can I say...best in town! I worked as an executive assistant for a private medical practice with exceptionally high standards and you can tell when you walk into another practice with those same high standards - they got 'em and you can tell! Callie, my hygienist, was the oh so perfect mix of being gentle yet aggressive to thoroughly clean my teeth - very skilled indeed! The dentists - amazing! Husband goes here also and has had many filling replacements and permanent crowns and was stunned at how professional and skilled the dentists are. Would never go anywhere else!

Great dental office, very kind and professional. I have bad teeth, always have. I've been going here since I was about 18 so something around 10 years. My original dentist retired in that span of time, I now see his daughter and she's so very sweet! I never feel embarrassed about my bad teeth when I go here and my gums have actually improves so much since I started. If you're looking for a good dentist this is it!

My toddler's first dentist visit went smoothly with Jessica and Dr. Hansen accommodating his wiggles and my need to interrupt my own appointment periodically to make sure he was safe and entertained. Prior to my visit I asked for my previous dental x-rays to be sent to SW Dental and these images were reviewed during my appointment, ensuring continuity of care. I give my highest recommendation.

This was my 1st visit at a new dentist. I called for an appointment to get a chipped tooth repaired. I was able to get in the following day. I did not have to wait more than 2 minutes before being called back. The assistant took an exray and within 3 minutes the Dentist was there. After a brief introduction, Dr Jon went right to work and was able to repair my tooth right now! I walked in the office at 3:50 and my 4:15 I was walking out of the office!! They worked very good with my Dental insurance also! I was very pleased with their prompt and professional service!! 10 out of 10 stars! Great job to all staff at South Western Dental!!!

I only came in for a consult. I can't speak for the dental treatment but can Say Dr Hansen is a consciensious person who seems to care she does a good and right job and treats people right. Only 4 stars not reflecting her just some basic miscommunication on office end.

It has been over 15 years since I've been to a dentist, so I was really nervous for my appointment. The staff were very friendly and didn't make me feel terrible for not getting my teeth cared for properly over the past years. I did end up with a cavity, but they were encouraging with the process of getting a filling. It was a wonderful experience and although I'm not looking forward to my next visit, I do feel confident in the care I will be getting. Since it had been so long and I only had 1 cavity I felt like I deserved a 5 star review along with them!

All of the dentists I’ve seen have been great, and my current dentist, Dr. Alicia Hansen, is outstanding. We absolutely love it there! They take time to get to know you and are always so happy to see our family. I’ve always had a great experience at Southwest Dental. I hardly have to sit and wait when I arrive and the scheduling process for next visit is very quick. My dental hygienist, Dorinda is also incredible. She is very gentle and gives me tips on how to floss so it doesn’t hurt as much. I scheduled a second opinion with Dr. Tyson Ellenbecker for cavities, because another dentist I had seen told me I had 4 of them and wanted me to pay $500 for all four after my insurance. Dr. Tyson saved me $440 because he said I actually only had one. He filled it in 10 minutes and I was good to go. Excellent work! Second opinions are so important, and I’m so glad I got a good one!

I've only had two experiences here so far over the year, but each time I can say it was enjoyable. First, while it may seem a small thing, they give you tinted glasses to avoid the light being shined in your eyes. While this seems so inconsequential, why hasn't any other dental office I've been to done this? It really stresses how much they care about your comfort. Second, every question I had concerning the care of my teeth was answered clearly and informatively. Lastly, my hygienist was an excellent conversationalist. A million kudos to her, because silence always feels so awkward to me (even though I know it doesn't have to). I wish I could book a specific hygienist instead of a specific dentist. They do so much more of the face to face work!

This is an excellent dental practice. They are on time, keep you posted, and let you know what they are doing as they do it. They do their best to work with your schedule and are flexible with appointments. The hygienists and Dr. Berger share images and information, and explain the procedure as it is done. I think this is a very good practice.

I've been driving up to my longtime dentist in Watertown for years, but finally decided to go to my husband's dentist after the drive started becoming a bit much, especially in the winter months. He loved this place, so I decided to give it a try, although I was used to private practicioners. Despite that, I never felt uncared for or uncomfortable in my visit there. I admitted that I was overdue for a cleaning, but they never shamed me and instead told me that I had great-looking teeth. They even give you sunglasses so that the light doesn't glare into your eyes! Both my cleaner and the dentist were awesome, and I plan to make them my regular dental place.

I had a cleaning with Tory and checkup with Dr Hartmann yesterday. It was honestly a FUN, painless and stress-free experience! Tory took time to explain that because I met certain criteria, I qualify to receive 2 additional cleanings and fluoride treatments per year at NO OUT-OF-POCKET COST from my dental insurance with Delta Dental. Dr Hartmann answered some questions I had about Invisalign, too. Talk about value-added service! Tory has a warm, bubbly personality. It was the first time I truly ENJOYED a dentist appointment! I'm looking forward to that extra cleaning in 3 months!

Brought my daughter here because I saw what I assumed was an abscess on her gum. They got us in first thing and we’re able to see her. Unfortunately they were not able to do what was needed due to not using sedatives in their office. However the dentist we saw was willing to do what he could to fix her problem while also thinking about her well-being. They were kind and gracious and I greatly appreciated it even though we weren’t able to remove the whole tooth.

Reality check here. I would only give them an average score. As far as I know the dental work is fine. Other aspects of the operation really bug me. 1) not getting the same information from different staff members. Right hand doesn't seem to know what the left one is doing. But I've run into that at other dentists, so I guess this is pretty average. 2) the endless litany of "how are you going to pay for this?" Once your account is set up, why do they have to ask repeatedly? You may be a walking zombie after a session in the chair, but there is always this last hurdle before you can leave. I've run into it at other dentists, so just average here too.
