My husband and a friend are patients a the Dental Group, and I was planning to make an appointment to go with them, but I didn't. Suddenly I had an emergency and I went to ask for help and they graciously took me. They found the time to see me even though they were very busy. Everybody there was friendly and caring. First impression is very important and certainly, I was impressed to see how professional and organized they were running their business. I have an appointment to go back next week and I'm looking forward to see them again and experience their care. I think my last dentist visit before Dr.Miyasaki was 10 years ago, and I’ve always have bad experiences with past dentists. In that 10 years, my teeth went from bad to worse and I knew it was time to finally see one. I’ve asked coworkers, friends, checked online reviews, and I came across Dr. Miyazaki’s dental clinic reviews. I read all of the reviews, and also looked at photos of him and his staff. Everyone on the photos looked very nice and kind, so I’ve decided to visit the Downtown dental office. On the first day of the visit, my heart was pounding and I was very nervous. Despite the my nervousness, everyone, from the receptionist to the assistant, was very nice and kind. They were very easy to talk to, and made me relax. When Dr. Miyasaki came into the room, my first impression of him was very nice. He’s soft spoken and gentle. When he looked at my X-ray, he replied, “Yes, I can help you!” When I heard that, I just burst into tears… When my treatment started, I was so impressed with the anesthesia! I didn’t feel anything, which never happened before, it was not hurting at all! Amazing! A few visits later, I am now finished with my teeth restorations (if you will) and I am beyond satisfied, and thankful for Dr. Miyasaki! He is a very skilled and gentle dentist! I really wish I met him earlier in my life so that I didn’t have to wait so long…but it’s never too late! I thank God for leading me to the best dentist in Hawaii, and will continue to visit him! My dentist-visit phobia is gone! If you are reading my review, trust me, this review is from bottom of my heart, and my actual experience with Dr. Miyasaki. You will not be regret to see and experience Dr. Wilfred Miyasaki!

The overall staff are very friendly, very positive energy, prompt and attentive, truly professionals in the various duties they do. The Dental Hygienists & Techs are a glass of their own level of professionalism, above the average graduate. They understand more science, physiology, and pathology than most Dentists I know. Dr. Miyasaki, a busy guy tending to a high need, high patient load, was prompt, brief but very detailed, clear and practical. Money doesn't motivates him but the quality of service and helping patients and provide for his staff. The meritorious award of America's Best Dentists is well deserved. They care - all of them.

Right up to date of my mini implants, I was worried. Everything went smooth like butter. Megan put me at ease conversing. I actually forgot what I was there to get done. She relaxed me so much I made the doctor wait to finish my sentence. Dr. Miyasaki has such a soft, gentle demeanor. It was worth the flight over, the hotel, the car rental, and the meals. My appt today was a longer one as expected. Needless to say, it was a pleasant experience despite the length of time spent in the chair. Dr. Wilfred Miyasaki and his dental assistant were cognizant of how I felt throughout and at the same time, they remained focused to have my teeth worked on. I had not seen a dentist since Covid-19 came about, but after he had numbed my gums and began to service my teeth, I felt no pain at all! What a Godsent moment!! My confidence for his performance went up 100%! Usually I would start off by getting "white knuckle" tense, however not at all today! I look forward to my future appointments without fear. I love everything about A Downtown Dental Group! I’ve always had small sized teeth and have wanted to enhance my smile with porcelain veneers for a very long time. I decided this was going to be the year. After lots of research and consulting with several different dentists, I decided to go with Dr. Wilfred Miyasaki and I’m so glad that I did! He was so friendly from the first meeting and seemed to really listen and understand my concerns. Dr. Miyasaki delivered just what I wanted. Being able to smile confidently is something I was never able to do but Dr. Miyasaki has changed that for me. It was the BEST investment and worth every penny! The entire team here is also amazing. The front office staff is so friendly and welcoming as soon as you enter. The assistants and hygienists in the back are so helpful and make you feel comfortable throughout the entire process. I appreciate each and every one of them. I have already referred my family and friends to this office. Thank you Dr. Miyasaki for giving me my new smile!

Enjoyed my appointment with Janet, my dental hygienist! Was greeted by Julia and Darlene at the front with their smiling faces! Their restroom, waiting room, and dental rooms are super clean! Came in mainly for teeth cleaning and x-rays with Janet, everything went really well, I’m so happy to have Janet, she’s so patient and she’s so cool! Janet is an awesome dental hygienist. She's very thorough and explained everything so I could understand the reason & cost of services needed and it's value/benefit. Janet is highly proficient and even though it's been years since my last visit, she was never condescending. I'm very thankful for her recommendations to get me back on track to good dental health. Although I was prepared for pain due to my hiatus from dental care, Janet masterfully cleaned without ever causing me discomfort. Even the x-rays were totally painless. They have new equipment that doesn't require you to intensely bite down on painful cards that jam into the roof your mouth and gums. I highly recommend Janet and was thrilled with my first visit back to the dentist.

I was really surprised how first you walked in to Dr Miyasaki dental office, everyone was putting their best outfit! They were all wearing masks, working hard, underneath the masks, from their facial expressions, they are smiling while talking or greeting us,or on the phone! That’s was really amazing! Verna was doing her best, to clean up my teeth after 2 Yrs, due to Covid, I was very hesitant to go any visit, including my annual, Mamogram, eye check up, my family doctor unless for the flu shot I was encouraged to go. I have not been to a dentist in many years and my teeth and smile showed it, I was missing a tooth and over the years my teeth had shifted and the spaces between them were widening. I finally decided I needed to do what Iʻve wanted to for so long. I had seen Dr. Miyasakisʻ ad in the newspaper years ago and told myself the next time I saw it I would make the move and call the office. That was the best decision I made. That was just over 3 months ago, and what a transformation it has been. I am so happy with my new veneers! I smile much bigger and more often now and not trying to hold my smile back. Dr. Miyasaki is an excellent dentist, very professional and most important to me he is an authentic person. In every interaction Iʻve had with him from consultation to completion of each service I could tell he is at the top of his profession and shows great care and concern with your well being and comfort. That is a cut above every other dentist I have been to in the past. I also have to say the entire staff from the girls at the front desk to the dental assistants and hygienists are not just friendly but also professional. The general feeling in this office is comfortable and familiarity as you can hear the staff welcome everyone, and more often than not greet you by name. A tray with Starbucks coffee, bottled water and a can of pineapple juice was brought to me while I filled out new patient forms. Staff was extremely friendly and made great efforts to make me feel comfortable which I thought was great while thinking back how petrified my mom used to be of dentists. While waiting for my X-rays to be processed the hygienist asked if I wanted my teeth cleaned because she had some time before her next patient. She saved me an additional appointment!!! Dr. Miyasaki was nice and reviewed my X-rays, let me know what problems needed to be addressed. When I left he gave me a long stem red rose in thanks for becoming a new patient. Just the fact that one of the first things that happened when I started going here was that they scheduled an appointment just to inform me how much the work was gonna cost, and how long it would take to complete makes this the best dentist I've ever gone to and worth the five stars alone, but on top of that the staff are very polite and make absolutely sure I know what is happening at all times. I was referred by my friend to go see Dr. Wilfred Miyazaki for a consultation for my badly receded gum around dental implants. Dr. Miyazaki and his assistant are very personable and genuinely sincere. First, his assistant (I forgot to ask her name) asked me the details of my problem and written down. Dr. Miyazaki took time to examine my gum and implants area. He didn’t charge anything for the examination. Today was my first visit and didn’t do any treatment yet but I have confidence Dr. Miyazaki will take care of my problem. I just wish I knew Dr. Miyazaki before I’ve done a failed gum graft from other dentist.

Found Dr. Miyasaki during a stroll downtown and I checked on line whether he accepted my Dental Insurance which my former dentist did not. In between I tried another dentist who accepted the insurance but I was not satisfied with the service provided. To me sitting in a dentist's office is probably the worst place to be but I found my visits to be tolerable. Dr. Miyasaki runs a very efficient operation. My initial visit was a get acquainted session with assistant Remy taking charge and briefing Dr. Miyasaki followed by X-Rays. Next visit was an operations order. Dr. laid out a plan of attack followed by several visits to resolve the various issues that I was faced with. Dr. Miyasaki did not waste time, he delegated work to his assistants who were capable. He did not talk much and just did his job. He also did a redo of a fix of one of my tooth done by my previous dentist. I did not waste much time in the waiting room. I always arrived at least 10 minutes before my appointed time and found myself in the dentist chair pretty much on schedule.

Let me start by saying that I have been terrified of The Dentist my entire life. Years ago I had a terrible experience with a dentist in Kailua who told me it was "not possible" for me to be feeling the pain that I was feeling as I white-knuckled the chair and tried to breathe through the pain. My lack of dental insurance coupled with my fear of dentists has kept me out of the chair and led to my having serious dental problems. After days of pain and not being able to eat or sleep, I literally could not take the pain anymore. So as soon as they opened I called to see if they would see me. I was told to come in to their office so off I went worried, in pain, and not even sure if I could financially afford to stop the pain. The reason for this review is to let anyone, who may be similarly situated, know that Dr. David Miyasaki is different and you can honestly Trust him. His staff is different and they genuinely care. I mean real Malama real Kokua not just Waha kine. I mahalo Ke Akua for bringing me to Dr. Miyasaki and I Mahalo Dr. Miyasaki and his team for not only taking the pain away and working with me but for giving me hope that I'll be able to someday smile again. So in conclusion, if your not thankful for your dentist its because you don't have this team, and I'm just thankful because now I do.

Best dental filling I ever had This is the first time that I ever had dental fillings done and I did not feel any pain at all. I was so happy that I hugged my dentist and his assistant afterwards! Dr. David Miyasaki really lives up to the testimony that this dental practice caters to cowards. I have a very low tolerance to pain and until I found his father, Dr. Wilfred Miyasaki years ago, I was a true dental phobic. Dr. David listened to my fears and made sure that I didn't feel any pain whatsoever by giving me a topical anesthetic before giving me a novacaine shot (which I didn't feel at all) and making sure that I got enough novacaine (and gave it time to sink in good), so I wouldn't feel the procedure at all. He constantly checked on me during the procedure to make sure I was okay and explained everything to me as he worked, so I would know what to expect. I was a little nervous at first because this was the first time Dr. David was going to do my fillings. I met him for the first time last month when I needed to get a broken tooth fixed (and his father was not available for the appointmennt time I needed) and he took good care of me then as well. As I had mentioned before in my last review, the saying is true that "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" because this dental practice of father and son is the best on the island. Just ask any former dental phobic that is a patient there! I recommend them highly. The level of skill, care, and compassion is second to none! Also, having weekend hours has been great for me (since I work double jobs and have a special needs son). Can't find that in a lot of dental practices around. Look no further, you have found your new great dentist! :-)

Upon entering Dr. Miyasaki's office, you are always greeted and welcomed warmly by his entire staff no matter how busy they are on the phone or with another patient. The waiting time is minimal, and once inside to see the dentist, the welcoming greeting contines by the other staff members. As a partial review...I appreciate the care and time that was taken for my 1st visit. However, with my unique situation I may have to follow up sooner for an actual procedure. My preference for my general health is treating the issue at the root over simply medicating it. (We'll see what's next in my case) if they can offer treatment sooner.
