I had a really good experience after not having dental insurance for 8 years and not seeing a dentist in 4 years Merion Village dental took great care of me. Riley was my hygienist and was amazing I will be requesting her for all future cleanings. I’ve never had a hygienist do such a thorough cleaning (she also was awesome at giving me the numbing injections). I love that Merion Village dental offers blankets and you can watch Netflix while they work on your teeth. I also had an awesome experience with the dental assistant who worked on my fillings. Overall the entire staff is so nice, very happy, and genuinely wants to talk to you and get to know you.

Our family has been going to MVD for the past 15 years. Our dental hygienist, Carrie, is the absolute best and is especially great for those like myself with sensitive teeth. I actually look forward to regular exams and cleanings again! She is also great with kids- both of our young children have loved going and getting their teeth cleaned from their very first appointment. I also love how they positively reinforce kiddos and adults alike with the No Cavity Club. MVD has such a welcoming atmosphere and is patient centered. From the time you enter, you feel like part of a family there. Also, if you ever have questions or concerns, the office staff is so easy to work with. I cannot recommend MVD enough!

I had gone 5 years without seeing a dentist until today. Needless to say, I was pretty scared going in. I was seen by Gwen, Kaylee and Dr. Hammad. (Hopefully I’m not misspelling any names) I was blown away by how genuine and sweet each of them were. Gwen was very kind to me and made me feel a lot better about coming in. I really did leave the office smiling and in a good mood. I even accidentally bit (and lowkey hit) my poor hygienist Kaylee while she was examining my teeth and she laughed it off with me. (Sorry Kaylee!) Kaylee was so knowledgable and kind to me, not to mention great at logically reframing my fears of dental care. I talked her head off because of my nerves and I felt like I was talking to a friend. Not once was I uncomfortable with her. Seriously, thank you for making my experience so painless. Dr. Hammad was friendly and empathetic- I felt he was very thorough. And last but not least, the most beautiful dentist’s office I’ve visited ever- amazing gardens outside and a sleek modern look to the inside. Thank you!

MVD has the best customer service. I have been a member for over two years. I have had some apprehensions about getting my wisdom teeth removed (never had prior surgery, and the removal may be complicated in my case). They helped to guide me through their thought process...discussed benefits vs risks with me....in a way that makes me feel empowered to make the best informed choice for myself. And in a world where I find that care costs/insurance aren't often discussed during office visits, I have been surprised to find how knowledgeable, prepared and up front everyone is about explaining expected charges/cost estimates. They were also great with my 3 year old daughter and made her feel so comfortable during her first dental appointment. My family will be patients here for life! (Special shout out to Carrie and Dr. Knight, who I see most often.)

The entire staff is super friendly and accommodating. I was 6 months behind on my cleaning schedule and used their chat function on the website to schedule an appointment the same day! They’re also open later than most offices and on the weekends! Carrie cleaned my teeth and was fantastic. Dr. Schairbaum is also great and was able to get me referred to a local orthodontist for some other work I need done. Highly recommended for anyone, including those who haven’t been to the dentist in a little too long.

I absolutely love this place! They’ve been my dentist for about a year, all my procedures have gone super smoothly! What REALLY makes them stand out is their kindness, and how much they’ll go out of their way to make you comfortable! Today I had Dr. Nicole Knight and the hygienist’s name was Alejandro! I have been going to Merion Village Dental for over 30 years and I love it there. Carrie is my hygienist and she does a great job!. The one down fall is they are limited on the insurance companies they are networked with. I have to pay extra because they are not in network with Met Life nor do they take any medicare supplements. I really don't want to leave them however when I retire I believe I will have no choice. My only hope is that they make changes before that time!

If you’re looking for a great dental office, you found it. I have been going here for about 7 years and every time my visit is nothing short of amazing. The staff is great, super friendly, confident, and reassuring. They will have you leaving feeling confident in yourself and in their work as well. I would personally recommend Kanisha. I had her for the first time today and I can’t say enough about her. She is the reason I am finally writing a review after so long. Don’t be shy, make sure you request her!

I had the best experience at Merion Village Dental. I easily booked an appointment for the same day online. The webpage explained what I should expect on my first visit and gave me a chance to complete the new patient paperwork beforehand. When I arrived, they had the paperwork ready and waiting. The visit proceeded exactly as advertised: x-rays, checkup, cleaning. The x-ray technician kindly explained each step of the process and showed me my x-rays. When I sat down for the check up and cleaning, the hygienist thoughtfully asked if I would like a blanket and if I'd like to watch Netflix during my visit. She then cleaned my retainer and replaced my busted retainer case (mind you, it's been busted for over a decade--she's just the first to offer to do something about it). I even got a prize for having no cavities! Everyone was so nice and warm. I can't recommend Merion Village Dental enough.

These dentists are fantastic! I’ve had such awful experiences with dentists in the past. I’ve had dental work done incorrectly numerous times and billing issues. But here it’s so different. They have done phenomenal work with my needs (so far root canal, crown and multiple fillings). They are are gentle, attentive and kind people. Marla was assisting me this past visit and she was wonderful! She even sanded down some of a crown I had to make my teeth look nice and straight! They work really well with my insurance, as well. I’ve only paid about $100 for all my work which is mind-blowing.

I absolutely love Merion Village Dental! I’ve been going here for a few years now and anytime someone brings up dentists/dental care, I can’t help but rave about them. I’ve always had a great experience. From the moment I walk in the door the staff are welcoming and friendly. The dental hygienists I’ve seen have all been excellent and the dentists are so nice and never seem rushed. The procedures I’ve had have all gone very well. They make sure your relaxed through your visit and even have TVs positioned so you can catch up on your latest show. They take away the worry of keeping up with care by asking if you want to schedule your next visit before you leave and sending text reminders ahead of your appointment. They also have great hours so you can schedule at times convenient for you. And they’re always giving goodies you can actually use and running promotions. For instance, I left today with a bag full of products and just for being cavity free I received a new clip for my phone and entry into a raffle prize for a fancy workout mirror. So yes, I highly recommend.

I'm going to start this off by saying I hadn't been to a dentist in 15 years and was extremely nervous about my appointment. Lauren was extremely kind! She took the time to explain everything she was doing and to answer all of my questions about both the cleaning process and my care routine at home. Dr. Hammad was nice as well. Both recommended I get a Night Guard since I grind my teeth at night. That required Gaile to run things past my insurance, which she did politely and extremely quickly. Jess the came in and did a great job with the scan for the Night Guard. Later, I got a text from Ally ensuring I mentioned who referred me so I didn't miss out on a bonus for it. The point of all of this is that I went into this appointment having avoided the dentist for 15 years due to a bad experience and extremely nervous about going. Coming out of this appointment, I felt like I actually enjoyed it, my teeth have not felt cleaner in a long time, I feel like I'm took a positive step for my health, and everyone I met was genuine, friendly, and great at what they do! I'm already scheduled for my next cleaning 6 months from now. Also, to anyone who reads this from the office: I'm of the opinion that everyone I mentioned in this review should receive candy bars, super delicious baked goods, or some kind of reward for the incredible job they're doing! This is by far the BEST dental office to go to. The staff is super friendly through the entire experience, try their best to put you at ease, explain billing and charges before any procedures, the building is clean, and they have a ton of fun drawings to enter just by visiting, referring or being a part of the cavity free club. I like the atmosphere of my first couple of visits. I had multiple fillings done for cavities that were not major and I had no pain in my teeth. I had to go back 5 days after due to constant tooth ache on a tooth that was filled. I was then told I needed a root canal since the filling was deep. I was not happy about this as I did not have this pain before my cavity filling and have paid a hefty amount for the work. I’m willing to stick around and see if my experience improves, but I was not very happy about this.

New to the neighborhood and had, finding a local dentist, on my “to do” list. That was until I cracked a tooth on Saturday around 4 with Easter being the next day. This place had someone who wasn’t a previous patient, in a chair by 7 am Monday morning and I had the problem fixed with a new crown (which they did in the office in a matter of minutes) and out the door by 10. Great staff; great service, top of the line equipment and I can’t say enough great things about this place!

Just had 2 front teeh crowns placed and I was sooo PETRIFIED but the dentist and assistant were so polite, amazingly calm and explained every part of the proceedure to me. My nerves soon calmed and the crowns looked georgous. They matched them to the exact color of the surrounding teeth. They look 100% real. I couldn't be happier with the end result honestly.

I have always been 100% satisfied with all the professional work I have had done at Merion Village Dental. They are always at the top of the latest, most efficient and painless procedures. Little check-in moments during otherwise normal procedures are great and the attention to each and every part of the visit is pretty incredible in comparison to other dental offices I've been to. Dr. Knight did my cleaning on my first visit and explained everything she was doing and answered all of my questions. At my first visit at Merion Village, I was greeted with warm cookies, coffee, a welcome gift , and a very high tech cleaning room. All members of the staff were very friendly and smiling :) At my cleaning they found decay in my back teeth. They were able to do an extraction the same day and provide lunch. I was able to complete my billing prior to the surgery, I sat and spoke about the procedure with the dentist and it all took about 2 for the entire visit! I was impressed with the quality of service and the warm atmosphere. I had issues with getting my gift card that made me upset. Also had concerns about my billing. After voicing my concerns, Ally Davis, business team lead, personally reached out to me and made a bad experience a positive situation. If a problem is discovered during a visit, they will do their best to deal with it that day. They have all the tools to deal with all your dental needs. No reason to go anywhere else. We're very comfortable with each other, stay up to date on our families & always crack each other up. The rest of the staff is always friendly and I've known some of them just as long. Another thing I appreciate is how much they give back to their patients in drawings for concert tickets, grills, gift cards, or their annual patient cookouts, the cookies, Starbucks, Velma's sparkling conversations and the toy treasure chest for the young ones. Oh, and the free lunches! I really could go on because I know there are a few more amenities that I've left out! But overall, I doubt there is another practice that invests & gives back to its patients the way MVD does.

I just had my first appointment yesterday at MVD. I don't usually write reviews, but it was such an outstanding experience from start to finish. Scheduling was very easy -- they had late appointments available, so I didn't have to miss work, which I appreciated. And when I arrived, I didn't have to wait long; they were ready for me at my scheduled time. The hygenist, Keturah, was really nice and listened to me when I told her about two of my sensitive teeth. I was able to watch Netflix during my appointment. I have two kids at home, so I rarely have an hour to myself to watch a show. I can't believe I got an hour to relax and watch it at the dentist's office! The entire staff was friendly, the office was clean, and thankfully the bathroom was clean. Even though it was my first appointment, they made me feel like I had been a patient there for years. I've never been afraid to go to the dentist, but I've also never left the dentist's office in a good mood. I actually enjoyed my time at MVD and I would recommend it to anyone.

I hardly ever write reviews, but MVD was one of the best experiences I've ever had in a dental/medical setting and I just gotta let the world know. Going to the dentist is usually such an uncomfortable experience for me (and lots of others, I'm sure), but I didn't feel self-conscious or awkward ONCE at this office - everyone was beyond nice, informative and welcoming from start to finish. I feel like I know a bit more of the details of my own dental health now, past just being told "you have a cavity" - my hygienist went over my own x-rays with me, taught me what exactly a cavity was, what kind of things should be prioritized, how past fillings would effect things moving forward, etc. They gave me more guided agency through the whole process, which I never really felt I had in any previous dental offices. There isn't a lot of waiting around, either - it was my first appointment there and they were able to do a few fillings I needed that same day (you also get to watch netflix while getting work done, which is awesome). The waiting room is also adorable and has snacks and coffee, and they have prizes every now and then that you can win. Lots of really wonderful stuff here. If you hate going to the dentist, go to MVD!

The receptionist however, she was very rude to my father and 2 children who are 4 and 10. She spoke to my family in a very unpleasant manner and sharply told them they would have to wait outside until I was finished (She said this after I was in the back with Carrie). I had three cavities filled and was out in just over an hour with no issues or pain at all. Everyone was as gentle and caring as they were efficient. The staff begins by asking questions about how they can make your experience more comfortable (Netflix, hand treatment, blanket, etc.) I recommend Merion Village Dental to everyone in the Columbus area.

I've been going here for about four years. I like that I can usually get a 700am or a 600pm appointment which makes it easier to manage my work schedule. They have quite a few techs and dentists on staff so a late change in plans can usually be sorted out within a week or two of the original appointment. I have only had one major piece of work (a crown) but it was well done. They manufactured it on site and let me watch the machine which was pretty cool.

The equipment was state-of-the-art, the experience was painless, and their late hours made it so easy to get in without missing any work. A huge plus for us was that there were zero sells; they ask you are on your intake sheet if you are interested in hearing about teeth whitening, invisalign, etc. I checked "not interested" and no one brought it up at all, which was nice. I'm so sick of going for a service anywhere nowadays and being begged/guilted/attacked into buying extras. Not here! Everyone was friendly and the office is gorgeous. There is a lot of flash and dazzle-"free" gifts, contests, etc. which made me question if I could afford this office. I have pretty great dental insurance and the place came highly recommended but I have no idea how anyone affords this place. It was way out of budget for me and when I refused the special cleaning they tried to sell me (which would cost me $100 out of pocket right then) they opted not to do ANY cleaning at all. I guess if you have super duper platinum dental insurance or are pretty well off this place is for you but I have student loan balances that are lower than their out of pocket cost on a crown.

I went in for a cleaning and a chipped tooth and I was just blown away by the teamwork, the red carpet treatment, current technology, atmosphere, etc.!! 🙀 Fear of the dentist? Trust me I completely understand, it is possible that no one understands more than I do. I couldn't even call a dentist without anxitey. 😿 Prior to going to MVD I spent many years in excruciating pain and with extreme anxiety of going to the dentist. So much so that I would make an appointment after appointment only to miss the appointment due to panic attacks the day of the appointment.😭 I ended up being black listed by dentist after dentist despite explaining my fear and my pain. When my sister told me about MVD I still didn't believe I could do it. Thankfully she drug me into that first appointment. 😬 Literally drug me!!! I was in the midst of of a horrendous panic attack😱 from the anxiety as she pulled me toward the door; then out of the office came a helper who seen the state I was in. I was embarrassed and scared but together they held each arm and rubbed my back giving me soothing words and encouragement as they took me inside the building. 😭 Inside it took another half hour or more to get me to calm down enough to walk into a room. From there it was another 10 to 15 minutes before I could sit in the chair. The entire team at MVD was so supportive, encouraging, and non judgmental to me throughout this entire process. 😊 A big thing for me here was that they gave me privacy away from other patients to sit and get through the anxiety. The last thing I needed was judgment from others. Once in the chair the dentist, the hygienist, and my sister talked to me until I was calm and had a understanding of what would happen once I opened my mouth. 😊Finally we could begin my exam with Dr Lauer. She was so gentle, polite, explanatory and empathetic of my state both mentally and physically. (Yes this was just an exam appointment. Not even a cleaning. My fear was very intense and very real. I know now how crazy it was.) In the end we decided it was my best option to remove teeth and go with dentures. 👄 I didn't know if I was strong enough to go through with the process. I was still scared and worried of how dentures would change my life. 😨 I feared I would miss my appointments, I feared the process. Luckily the team at MVD and the support of my sister got me through those first few appointments. After that they had my trust! 🗝 I can finally call (or text) my dentist without anxiety or fear! 💗 I have since had teeth removed and dentures put in. While the process takes time and we are nearing the end of it I never thought I could do this. I never thought I could drive myself to the dentist. I never thought I would be this proud of my smile. Then again I never knew the team at MVD and how grateful I would be for them. 😁 I so want covid to disappear so I can give each individual team member at MVD the huge HUG they deserve for changing my life!! 🤗 I am happy to smile!! My pain is gone!!! I may have had a fear of the dentist but MVD isn't just a dentist. They're people who care about your smile and your story. They understand and take the time to make you comfortable so you can smile your best smile. 😁 🧡 I will forever sing Praises and Love for MERION VILLAGE DENTAL!!! 🎶🙌💗 Trust me they are the best!! Hmmm...where to start! I know it’s hard to find a good dental place who you can go to and trust to take good care of you and your family. I found Merion Dental and Carrie S. and Dr. J since 2001. We moved and have the kids tried other dental place but we end up coming back to Merion Dental even though it’s a little drive from where we live. We have good experiences with the staffs. They always willing to fit you in or change the schedule to meet your need. Before any treatment need to be done they always asked and run through insurance and give a rough estimates before moving forward with the treatment. Get greeted at entrance door by Vilma and Thelma before heading upstairs to check in. I’m always feel welcome every time I’m there. Nice clean place, beautiful garden during warm season, free Wi-fi, snack and beverages while waiting. Yes..I would recommend Merion Dental Village to my family and friends!

Afterwards my cleaning was thorough and gentle and stress free. When I saw the dentist he explained his findings and recommendations clearly. I felt that I could completely trust the dentist and all his staff. On the way out you are treated to free samples and gifts. All in all, I give Merion Village Dental an A+. They are wonderful, people.... call for an appointment today. I requested an appointment on Monday (Memorial Day) and was seen Thursday of the same week. I was extremely anxious for this visit because I was having multiple cavities filled. The last time I had cavities filled it was not a good experience--so I waited a year to schedule this appointment--not a good idea! The hygienist was very comforting, even when I broke down in tears after being given anesthesia! Once I was numb the doc came in & drilled the cavities in no time. The hygienist did an excellent job of making sure I was comfortable for the fillings & gave me breaks as I needed them to rest my jaw. Of course I'm sore & was slightly uncomfortable for the rest of the evening but it was nothing like my prior experience. Hopefully I won't have any more cavities! I've only been going to Merion Village Dental for about 6 months, but I wish I'd found it years ago. The doctors and hygienists are completely top-notch, all super friendly and super competent! They always have an answer to every question and genuinely seem to love what they do. When something went haywire with checking me in for my last appointment, I had to wait maybe 20 minutes. They sent me an Amazon gift card to apologize! I didn't mind the wait a bit in their peaceful waiting room with a water feature and big windows to watch the ducks and other birds use the little pond and waterfall outside. They also offer a great referral deal ($50 for you and the friend you refer), cookies, coffee, and even a free boxed lunch if you make an appointment around the lunch hour. I'll never go to another dentist in Columbus; Merion Village is the best of the best!

Dad and I had to find a new dentist because of a terrible experience. I’m not going to drag the previous dentists because of how they did us wrong, I’m going to praise our new dentists at Merion Village Dental for doing everything right! When I called, the person answering the phone was was text-book good service: friendly, empathetic, and made it clear they would take care of dad and fix what the other place did. When we arrived same day for the appointment, front desk was friendly, and the dental hygienist invited me back into the room so she could discuss with both of us what the plan was. And then I was informed that I could stay for the rest of the procedure, or wait out in the lobby. I opted for the lobby because they had coffee and fresh baked cookies! Afterwords the hygienist came out and told me what had been done, and explained our aftercare procedures because as she put it “it’s always better to have an extra set of ears” The person making dad’s next appointment suggested that I make mine at the same time so we’d only have to make one trip. A few days later we received a hand written thank you note from the hygienist. Seriously, we left the last place because it felt like they couldn’t be bothered and we are sticking with this new place because it really feels like they care!

Pros Overall, it's a lovely environment with friendly and knowledgeable team. They make a great effort to make you feel at home and they successfully do just that. We greatly appreciate their flexible hours (open until 7 p.m. and open on Saturday mornings) so that we don't have to take off work to go to the dentist. They're always giving you something - a free toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. Well, it seems free. That's where my possible Con comes into play. Cons With all the fancy parties and giveaways they throw, I feel like the cost comes out of my pocket somehow. Normally, my insurance includes two complimentary cleanings, but after I leave there I still owe them money somehow. Unless I ask them how much, they don't always make an effort to tell you up front. That's why they get 4 out of 5 stars. You can't eat a cookie but you can't have the whole cake too.

After my first teeth cleaning, I needed a filling re-sealed and the receptionist came in to show me what my insurance would cover and how much out-of-pocket I would have to pay. I was taken care of right then and there and the best part, they have tv’s in the ceiling, so I could catch up on my latest Netflix binge. I also love the little duck pond out front 😊

Velma at the front desk made me feel right at home and the lady who got me situated Keturah was exactly what I needed to ease my mind. Keturah was fast and got me to the doctor right away. I saw Dr. Lauer this morning and had a wonderful experience from the moment I walked in the door. I was running late (of course!) and the staff was so kind and friendly; no one made me feel guilty for running 10 minutes late, which is impressive in the medical world! Velma, the 'guest relations' rep at the desk when you walk in, was warm and outgoing, pouring me coffee and offering other amenities. Kayla presented me with paperwork after I was checked in and brought me a gift bag full of cool stuff; a reusable bag, coffee travel mug, full-sized mouth wash, toothpaste, floss and toothbrush. I expected a toothbrush and maybe a small toothpaste but this was an overflowing bag! Janell was my hygienist, and she was also excellent. Not pain, and she was very understanding of my sensitivity to metal instruments picking on my teeth. She made lovely conversation without the ever-awkward issue of trying to talk to someone while you have hands in your mouth. I also want to mention that I know the names of every staff member who helped me because they politely and professionally introduced themselves to me before going to work. Janell also did my x-rays without any discomfort, cleaned, polished and then used a cool laser to detect cavities. In the past, I've squirmed and cringed while hygienists and dentists jab at my teeth with metal implements, but there was none of that! Sadly, I am no longer in the no-cavity club with a 'pre-cavity' way back on a molar, but Dr. Lauer went over the filling stuff with me and talked about other areas I needed to watch. If I'd wanted, I even could've had the filling done that visit. Greg, from the business office team, went over my insurance coverage with me and helped me schedule an appointment for the filling that fit my schedule better. Everyone was nice and happy, and it seemed like a place where people are genuinely happy to work. They have a wonderful referral program (which is what drew me in! $50 for you and $50 for your friend who made the referral, on a prepaid visa gift card as you check out) and the facility is clean and beautiful. I would recommend this office to anyone; they also offer a great lunch program where they provide a boxed lunch if you have an appointment weekdays 11am-1pm! How cool is that? Feel free to use me as a referral and get yourself (and me!) $50 at your first visit! I'm almost excited to go back next week for my filling...
