What can I say amazing! Karena and Danilo are a master at what they do! We went in for a wedding workshop and haven’t left. Even after our wedding we are continuing classes. It’s a fun energetic atmosphere with great people. They hold private and group lessons. Their dance parties are super fun always a theme. So glad we went in for the wedding workshop. Not only was our first dance amazing it wowed our guests, and I was able to get these amazing shots too. Karena took the time to help make sure our dance was perfect while having fun learning it. Here’s to more dances to learn

Karena is an excellent instructor who has a very thoughtful way of breaking things down into steps that build on top of each other -- by the end of the session you are pulling off moves you would have never guessed you'd be able to do at the beginning. So much fun!! My husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary and this was the start to our day. My husband is not a dancer at all, but the instructor made it so much fun! He made us both very comfortable, and my husband truly enjoyed it. He was smiling so big and felt he was doing an amazing job, and he was! We definitely would love to go back. It would be such a great date night. If you want to smile, laugh, and learn some awesome dances, this is the class for you! :)

I had my first lesson with Karena in September of 2010, and we danced pro-am in our first competition together a few weeks later. Watch Karena dance for 30 seconds, and you’ll know she’s a great dancer. Take a lesson with her, and you’ll see she’s also a great teacher, which is much harder. She has taught me many different styles and levels of dance over many years, when I was at very different places in my life. She understands, as great teachers do, that different people learn things in different ways. And I have yet to see someone that she couldn’t teach. I take most of my lessons with Karena, but Danilo is always around to offer his two (or three) cents. He has been an enormous help with choreography, styling, encouragement, and adding a masculine touch to my dancing. And don’t miss his group classes. They are always entertaining.

Karena and Danilo are both incredible instructors and so patient! My fiancé and I started with a Groupon that was a gift and ended up learning a whole “first dance” for our wedding in 3 classes! My fiancé also did classes with her dad and had a wonderful experience as well. 10/10 Highly recommend!!!

The dance instructor was professional and knew how to engage well. The class was fun and informative he even recorded our dances we learned to continue practicing at home. Great fun date idea or if you wanna learn to ballroom dance. Best place in town.

My fiancée and I took the 5-lesson block with Karena for our upcoming wedding in May ‘20. We ended up learning Bachata, Swing, and the Foxtrot and incorporating them all into what will be our “first dance”. Karena is an impeccable teacher that can train you for dance competitions or just help the Average Joe feel comfortable on the dance floor! There is no reason why a person like me with zero skill could learn all of that in a matter of a handful of Saturdays, so that is a testament to the knowledge and environment that The Real Ballroom provides! Thank you for everything, and coming from a person who never really thought twice about learning to dance, The Real Ballroom has definitely provided an experience that my wife and I will cherish forever!!

This review is long overdue. For me the hardest part of this experience was gathering the courage to walk through the door for my first lesson. I met with Karena who immediately made me feel comfortable and it's been a great experience since then. Her teaching skills are outstanding, she's patient, understanding and always positive. I thought I would take a few lessons and move on but I was enjoying myself so much I decided to continue on. Each lesson is a new learning experience and confidence builder. Karena along with her husband Danilo have established something really special in South Tampa. The Real Ballroom Dance Studio. You won't find a better team to enhance your dance skills.
