Wow! What a teacher Lois is. She gives personal attention and she knows how to lead and follow, which is so helpful. Lois goes to Argentina every year to dance and teach, and she takes students with her so they can dance at authentic milongas! She is active in the community and arranges alot of events in the cities.
FANTASTIC iP
Lois is awesome! From the very first class over three years ago to now, she's had a profound impact on my skill and understanding of Argentine tango. If you want a devoted, loving, and refined attention to the boundless beauty of this miraculous dance, there's no one better in our area to entrust yourself with than Lois Donnay.
In my early group classes with her, I was heavily impacted by three things she said that still form the core of my dance and have become key tenets of how I want to be in the world on and off the dance floor:
1) "Tango is one heart and four legs," emphasizing the centrality of connection between leader and follower.
2) "Too much salt and pepper ruins the steak," championing exquisite execution of the fundamentals rather than flashy, show-style steps that disrupt strong connection or musicality.
3) "Throw all your meat on the fire," speaking to investing ourselves fully into the each movement.
Lois focuses on mastering close embrace and the mindful and improvisational aspects of the dance, instead of rote, mechanical memorization of step sequences. Her approach is as organic and beautiful as the dance itself.
I'm still learning and refining, and I feel confident that I can dance Argentine Tango anywhere in the world.

SUPERB teacher! Lois knows how to give you attention, even in a group setting of beginners and more advanced dancers. Will be coming back!
