I booked private dance classes with Jonathan, as a surprise for my husband (then fiancé)! He was traumatized at the thought of dancing at our wedding so I wanted to find an instructor that would be fun, patient and friendly, and Jonathan hit all the marks and then some! He was very helpful, invested so much energy into teaching us and really worked with us to get every move right. And he was a lot of fun and very personable! His energy is always high and inviting. We enjoyed all our lessons and felt confident getting on the dance floor for our first dance. We enjoyed it so much, that we began taking more lessons after our wedding. Unfortunately, our careers have taken a hit during this recession, so we don’t know when we will be back, but we so look forward to returning! This dance studio and all it’s instructors deserve all the success!

I booked a private lesson and stayed for a group. Very fun experience. I learned a lot in a short amount of time it was hard to go home. Jonathan & Caitlin are a dynamic duo who are very passionate in what they teach. I look forward to working with them again if the timing is better for myself. But great teaching shouldn't go unnoticed!

This studio and all of the instructors here are absolutely exceptional! They are both professional and friendly and make you feel at home - and the other people who take classes are just as welcoming and encouraging! In a little less than 3 months they helped me feel comfortable enough to go social dancing, and I have watched so many couples come in and perfect their dancing in a relatively short period of time. Overall, this is a great place to learn or improve your dancing, and meet some wonderful people along the way! I can't wait to see their new studio!

This is such an amazing dance studio! Since the first time I walked in, the teachers and staff made me feel so welcome and comfortable. I have been attending the group classes and both the teachers and the other students are extremely nice! All the teachers are incredibly talented and they care about you a lot! I highly recommend Fred Astaire! Not only you will learn how to dance, you will also have fun, make friends and enjoy every minute you spend there! The studio is so welcoming. When you walk in you are greeted with hellos and hugs from everyone, students and teachers. It is such a warm community. The group classes are great, you get the opportunity to work on your dance skills with multiple partners and learn new things. Private lessons are great as you get to really fine tune your dancing. They offer a wide range of work shops and coaches so that you can really learn from many different approaches. I've only been at the studio for 2 weeks and I already feel right at home.

Jonathan was our dance instructor at Fred Astaire Dance Studio, and he helped me and my sweetheart (and now-wife!) practice our first dance for our wedding. He helped us with every aspect of our first dance, and the investment was completely worth it. We got married this February and our first dance went fantastically... and we had so much fun! And that’s because of the prep-work, coaching, and lessons with Jonathan. Instead of looking nervous, we were confident and happy - and it was super romantic, and our families were truly touched. This dance studio is amazing! The instructors are very nice and make you feel like you are apart of their family, even when I am from another state. I did the private lesson and my instructors had helped me tremendously in bachata on the count of the music and how to hold my partner firm like holding the box. My leading is so much better and so is my confidence and movement. My dancing group at home noticed the difference on my movement and confidence. I recommend this studio even if it just for a lesson! The only recommendation I would have is that they have a social dance there :P

I started going to Fred Astaire Las Vegas as a new dancer in July of last year. I work long hours at a local hospital and was just looking for something fun and active to do once in a while to take care of myself and unwind; I felt immediately at home here and have been at the studio every chance I get! Martin, the studio owner, and all of the instructors are very welcoming and encouraging. The studio atmosphere is friendly and warm. They really take the time to get to know you, make you comfortable, and explore your goals. I have seen them tailor lessons to couples, individuals, and children, experienced dancers, and first-timers, and everyone seems to have a great time. I really enjoy the variety of group and specialty classes offered, and always learn so much in my lessons. I expected to find a casual hobby, but discovered a passion a studio family I am excited to be a part of :)

I thoroughly enjoyed my first private lesson with Martin, and definitely look forward to other lessons with the studio. As someone with a background in dancing, I found the staff at the studio to be very easy to work with and understand, while still providing the technicality I look for and expect in a dance class. Martin's staff is very well versed in teaching their students, and Martin's expertise definitely shows when he's teaching. Coupled with their fun and passionate energy, this is definitely one of the best studios I've worked with in Vegas and can highly recommend if you want to give ballroom dancing a try, regardless of skill level!

The staff at Fred Astaire are friendly, supportive and professional. As lifelong non-dancers preparing for our son’s wedding, we started from zero and ended up very comfortable on the dance floor when the the big day came. Our instructors, Armando and Heidi, are patient and insightful. In addition to learning our preferred dances, the foxtrot and the hustle, we gained enough confidence to wing it at the wedding reception - people said we looked good and looked like we were having fun. We should taken dance lessons years ago.

Martin, Nikki, Jonathan, and Amber are excellent instructors. From great fun social group classes to excellent private classes, Fred Astaire Dance Studio has it all! My girlfriend and I have been coming for 2 years now and can't recommend it enough for anyone looking to get into Salsa/Latin/Ballroom! They also offer other dances like West Coast Swing and Country 2 step!

This place is wonderful. The staff is great. Everyone is so welcoming, helpful, and genuinely friendly. It creates for a nice atmosphere. Group classes are fun, enjoyable, and easy to learn from. Also, Heidi is an excellent instructor for your private lessons! I would highly recommend this studio and it's staff to anyone.

Good family friendly studio. They teach you to dance practically everything except for hip hop that I can see since I've been there. Wonderful instructors and staff. They offer your first private lesson FREE!!! You should just go and take a look at it for that alone. Especially if you've been wanting to learn to ballroom dance and never had the chance. This curiosity will not kill you.

I have always wanted to ballroom dance, especially Salsa and Tango. I came to this studio basically as a beginner. They have taught me most of the basic dance types and i thoroughly enjoyed it. I have done both private classes, with Marta, and group classes, which involve all of the instructors. Marta is amazing. She was a competitive award-winning dancer from Spain. I have taken many private salsa classes from her. She explains things very well, is very detail oriented, and fun to work with. I have also worked with Martin, Armando, Jonathan, Kristen, and Melissa. They are all very talented dancers, teach well, and fun to work with. The studio appears very new and is always very clean. It is conveniently located in a strip mall. In summary, I am giving them a five-star review, because they excel in every category I would want in a dance studio.

My husband and I moved to Vegas about a year ago for his job and while he was busy busy busy, I was having a hard time adjusting and his long hours made me lonely. One day I was driving and the big white letters spelling out DANCE STUDIO caught my eye and I impulsively swung into the lot. And I'm so glad that I did. Martin (the owner) has a fantastic studio, inside and out. It's new, clean, and beautifully decorated on the outside with vintage Fred Astaire shots. He and his instructors (Nikki W., Nikki M., and Jonathan) are all extremely professional, knowledgeable and talented, but more importantly they make learning FUN! On that first day I laughed so much I didn't even think I was taking a class, and to be honest, I still feel that way most of the time. The staff and regular students make this dance studio very inviting, not stuffy or snobby like others tend to be. The group lessons are so fun with everybody involved and then my private lessons are jam packed with information that really helps my dancing improve. I'm so glad I have found my Vegas "family" here at Fred Astaire!!!

***Heads up, Fred Astaire is moving location soon*** Love it! My wife and I are taking classes there with zero experience prior and I feel we've already improved a lot thanks to everyone here. It is very easy to feel welcomed and not feel judged for stepping on your own toes. Starting, like any new hobby, feels awkward but quickly becomes fun thanks to the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. I highly recommend checking it out if you have even a remote interest in learning anything more than swaying side to side for every song (which is what I did).

Martin and his professional staff are incredibly personable. When I walked in the door it felt like being greeted by family, not a franchise. Each staff member has a unique background and I am eager to finding what they have to offer individually. After the first lesson with my husband, we even received a handwritten notecard from Nikki. They know what they are doing, on and off the dance floor. Despite their exquisitely beautiful dance technique and skill, they are not intimidating for new dancers, a.k.a. my husband. As a seasoned dancer, I am thoroughly inspired by the Fred Astaire Dance Studio programs. FADS tailors to each individual dancer's speed of learning, goals, and personalities, while simultaneously keeping them on track with standardized levels. My husband and I are looking forward to logging many hours dancing here!

As much as I love watching people dance, never did I think I would ever have the courage to walk Into a dance studio by myself, and learn to dance. Especially ballroom dancing. As I walked in, it's just like the movies. Open floor, Mirrors, and dancing. I almost walked out because of the anxiety that washed over me. But my instructor Jonathan, took me by the hand and instantly made me feel comfortable. (Which is hard to do) In 2/3 months he taught me so many dances and one ....that I performed in front of a small local crowd. I really didn't think I would be able to do it, I have stage fright, and we changed a lot of the Argentine tango Routine the prior night. He is an excellent instructor and The routine was something that I will never forget. It conquered 2 of my life long fears , and I highly recommend Fred Astaire Las Vegas. All of the instructors are more like friends, and it is such a family oriented environment, that you literally want to be there every night.

I stopped by the studio on a whim and have been dancing there since may. The studio is nice clean and great floor. The staff is awesome , very nice, friendly and knowledgeable. The ties you build with the students and instructors is great , your 2nd family. The dance community here is non judgmental and we all know you start from tbe beginning. There are a few studios in town and this one for sure does it the best! The instructors and owner are very friendly and know what they are talking about. They do a wonderful job with newbies to the more advanced students. I am excited to get back to my dancing!!! And would suggest this place to anybody who is wanting to learn how to dance!

Fantastic studio! Martin, the owner, is a super person and a great instructor. I had never done ballroom or Latin dance, or any dancing in public for that matter. After a number of discouraging attempts at finding a comfortable environment for my beginning steps, I found Fred Astaire through referral from a friend. I admit that the name “Fred Astaire” was intimidating and I expected another less than good experience, but as soon as I walked into the studio, I felt the relaxed atmosphere there. Not that I was relaxed, but Martin and Nikki quickly put me at ease. I signed up for private lessons and attend the group beginner classes, and a Latin cardio class. I’m only three weeks into it, and already this new experience has been therapeutic for me physically, mentally and emotionally. It’s such a gift to find something so fun and challenging for myself as a single woman in my sixties.

Love this place! Everyone's really friendly and welcoming here, and there's no hard sell about lessons. For a non-Fred, independent student like me, it's especially nice to go into a studio and still feel like part of the family. The floor's great, and the location's convenient. Floor rent is very reasonable. When the studio does dance parties, even non-Fred people can come. Worth checking out!

Not only is the environment friendly, but the instructors are professional and the social group lessons extremely fun as well as exciting. The personal lessons are when the teachers focus on details individually. They do sell dance shoes but I do hope they'd sell them at a more reasonable price as a student. Also, I do wish they would have discounts both student and otherwise such as veteran or senior ones in the future. The packaged deal should also be at a more reasonable price instead of nearly $100! I had my third lesson in tap with Nikki today. She's spearheading the beginning adult tap program for this studio and has been tapping since the age of 3. She breaks every thing down in a very manageable way and is a lot of fun. The entire staff is very personable and interesting. I signed up for more tap lessons today, and will attend other beginner classes to help my learning curve along.

Never really learned dance before but I always wanted to learn ballroom. I found a deal on LivingSocial for this studio. It's a little ways off from where I live but I thought I'll just try it a couple times. Martin, the owner, asked me what type of dance I wanna learn, I asked him what the different dances are lol, I had no idea! So for my intro lesson, I learned the basics for a couple dances. It was so much fun! Eventually I started coming more and more for the group classes. The teachers always make the classes enjoyable and nobody ever made me feel stupid or intimidated because everyone including the other students are all just happy to help out. And they genuinely care about you and not just your money. They value the long term teacher-student relationship and not just some "I want your money now and I don't care if I don't see you again" attitude. It's now been a year and I am hooked!! Once I find something I really like, I stick to it. My week isn't complete if I don't get to go to the studio. I go there when I'm tired or when I'm stressed and I leave feeling better :) Love this place!
