Wonderland is a warm and welcome place, and I am so grateful Seattle has this resource for our community! The gear is at a great discount and the staff are always knowledgeable and helpful when you need it. I think it's always a fun surprise to see what new gear they have so every trip feels like a little treasure hunt. Consigning gear here is simple and rewarding. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Informed me that new stock is put out on Saturday mornings, so I was able to browse for a few Saturdays before finding my first pair of skis and boots! 30 day exchange policy if I come back and find boots I like even more. Super easy. You never know what you’ll find! Shop here before ordering online for sure.

This place is great for second hand outdoor goods. The service was prompt and they followed up just when we needed some questions to be addressed. Not too pushy, just customer focused! I would recommend this store for consignment or purchasing goods at a great deal. Some of the snowboards on sale were not even used! This is a fantastic place to peruse used gear ranging from backpacking and camping gear, to mountaineering, cycling, and even surfing. You can also put your own gear up for consignment. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If you're looking for something particular and aren't in a hurry, this is a good place to check periodically and pick up gear at a good price.

The staff at Wonderland are hands down some the friendliest and most helpful outdoor gear salespeople around. Everyone has useful knowledge and input to offer on the gear in the store while not overcrowding the casual browser. As far as their selection goes, I only have experience with their winter time lineup but they are constantly getting new things in so its worth checking in every week. If I remember right they put new stock out on Saturdays. They have equipment that most don't, in better condition, for better prices than other consignment stores in the area. If you're looking for lightly used gear at drastically reduced prices from new or if you're into recycling gear for another adventure then there is no other place to go.

On a trip from Florida we happened to be taken to Wonderland Gear Exchange and were fortunate to be there when they were having a blowout sale. It was so very well organized, the gear, the lines for people during vaccinated Covid, people wearing their masks. All in all a truly great experience and super finds!

Need a new-to-you coat or pair of hiking boots? Maybe a tent that has some dirt on it? Maybe you have a sleeping pad you don't use anymore. Wonderland has a great rotating inventory of consignment gear with a few samples sales throughout the year. Reuse instead of buying new when you can and it can save you a couple bucks.

They have amazing gear here, I get lots of my ski gear and hiking gear from this place. The service is also very adequate, the employees help you find every small detail you are looking for in ski gear. Also the prices are amazing, lightly used gear that is selling for a fraction of the original price. Amazing service, amazing gear, amazing prices, go to wonderland gear exchange for amazing gear for the season.

Came in hunting for climbing shoes. I was impressed by the large selection they had. I wear a women’s 12/men’s 10.5 and it can be a pain to find shoes that fit properly even at REI. They had a handful of options in my size and tons in the typical mid range of sizes. I found a great pair that fit perfectly, normally retailed at $140 and were priced at $40. I’ve already used them a few times and they’re fantastic. Their policy is that they start off at around a 50% discount and the discount increases with additional wear. I found a brand new Osprey hydration pack as well for only $35. Don’t see consignment and think the products are going to be dirt cheap, they have a large selection of reputable outdoors brands that normally retail at high prices. Their solid discount makes quality gear more affordable!

Very helpful staff!! I bought a pair of snowshoes (at half price) that needed a new strap keeper clip. One staff member looked up the part online (sold in 10 packs), and another said she had extras she could bring in for me (because they're sold in 10 packs). Just like that I had what I needed, at a discount, with a smile. Excellent!!

I LOVE this place! Staff is super friendly. Always an EXCELLENT selection of items. Decent prices (with some really good deals if you look for them). And on the consigner end of things, I've always felt that their pricing was fair (sometimes even better than anticipated), as far as the amount I received from the sale of any items I brought in. They give a higher percentage payout than most consignment stores in the area, which is awesome. So, check this place out, you won't regret it!

[Update] The owner, Ben, was open to feedback and ideas after I left the review below. He was courteous and friendly about it and is working making to make things better (more transparency about their testing, exploring ways to refurbish certain items). This shop is worth supporting. [Original review] They have private notes about items that they don’t tell you about unless you ask for it. I wish the store would provide more details about how they tested items and how it performed, so that customers aren’t stuck with badly performing items whose return is refused. It’s a cool shop, but you can easily get burned by an overpriced, inadequately tested item.

As a customer, I like the broad gear selection, fair prices, and staff who are friendly and helpful, without being pushy. As a seller, I feel like a partner, rather than just a customer in reverse. They tell you up front what their cut is, and their incentive is to get you the best price for your gear. Unlike some other ways I've sold used stuff, I don't have to worry about pricing things well or advertising in the right forum. I just bring it in and trust them to do their job well.

Please stop by Wonderland before purchasing anything new! Wonderland is a well organized used gear store that does a great job balancing quality of consigned gear and price. I have been able to consign gear here and use my money to purchase a few things for myself (or you can cash out if you prefer). They make the process very simple with an intuitive online system. I love stopping by the store to check it out once a week, and not to mention, the folks who own this place are exceptional humans. They are all so kind and inclusive, it feels like a true community here. 10/10 would recommend.

If you need to gear up for outdoor sports go to Wonderland first! Not only do they have great prices, but as it's mostly used gear, it's fun to find hidden gems in the store. I've bought everything from skis to a moka pot to a camera pack here! Not to mention you're helping extend the lifespan of gear and keeping it out of the landfill.

You should definitely stop here before ordering anything new. The selection keeps growing and the team is really helpful and cheerful in setting you up with what you need! I really appreciate that they also carry new items for small stuff like ski straps, backcountry meals, gas canisters, and so much more! On the consignor side, it's basically seamless. This is a "wonderful" place to get new and used gear. Super helpful and friendly staff, lots of turnover of clothes and gear. Highly recommend. The new location in Fremont is superior to the old location in north Ballard. If you have kids, this is an excellent place to get outdoor gear for kids and then sell it back and upgrade as they grow.

I've been impressed with their management of COVID policies amidst a move from Crown Hill to Fremont, it feels clean and safe to shop here. Just went in today for the first time and dropped off two paddle boards for consignment. The overall process of getting the gear checked in and looked at and then signed up with their consignor process is very easy and fast. The shop is great, everything is nicely organized and prices overall seemed very reasonable. Looking forward to seeing how the consignment goes and will update with that experience. Update: One of my paddle boards sold within 2 weeks. The overall process has been streamlined and no issues. My online profile had updated with the total amount available to me. I swung by the store and chatted with the owner Ben, he explained how I could cash out. I am able to leave the amount in their system as store credit and can come back and purchase against it if I do that I get 10% more value of what I made or just cash out. So I left it there as we are always buying equipment and this is a great option to check out. Overall it's been a great experience!

Love these guys so much. Nate and Ben have worked so hard to get this off the ground and the store is amazing - beautiful ambiance, SICK mountain art on the walls and obviously lots of great gear. The prices are totally accessible and there are DEALS to be found among rack after rack of quality consigned gear. Need a new fancy flannel? They got it. Running tights? Boom. Full windsurfer rig? YOU'RE COVERED. They said it wasn't possible, but Ballard just got even cooler. EDIT: They're still here. And they're still amazing. Such a good business, wonderful owners and staff, and great service for the community.

Great place for gear (new and loved.) Very helpful and friendly staff! Sample days are my favorite (I see you - half off Smart Wool 🙂) My cousin Kay and her fiance Ben introduced me to this gem, and I am addicted. 95% of my clothes for hiking/camping/backpacking are from here! Great concept, I was really excited to hear about a new gear exchange. Convenient location and very friendly staff. Unfortunately slightly higher prices than I would have preferred ($45 men's shirt, $89 women's shoes). Also the consignment concept seems complicated. I would have rather have been offered like $10 store credit to use that day and call it good rather than wait around to see if my item sells or not (wasn't expecting a true consignment system and waiting for payout). Hopefully kinks like that can be worked out soon for the new store.

I've been following Wonderland Gear Exchange since even before the store existed when I met the owners when they were tabling at The Mountaineers for early advertising. They are super genuine and friendly folks who are committed to selling high quality gear sold for consigners. They are also passionate about helping buyers find the perfect items for their outdoor pursuits. I've been buying and selling with them for a couple years now and have highly recommended the store to many many friends, who have also had great selling/buying experiences. So in short, before you buy an expensive new piece of gear, help save the planet and get an awesome item from Wonderland. Or before you put something up on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist, let Wonderland help you find a buyer much more easily and quickly.

The outdoor enthusiast shopping situation Seattle needed! Wonderland has an abundance high-end, quality used gear at good prices. I've consigned with them and my items sold quickly and of course I've also purchased gear through them - all of which continues to perform today! If you're past the point of renting equipment or ramping up into a new hobby, save the cash commitment on new stuff and swing by Wonderland first. They'll likely have what you're looking for with modern styling/tech listed at ~40% off of new retail.

Highly recommended establishment!! They have a broad range of second-hand and new outdoor recreational clothing and equipment. The used products they have are generally in great shape and exceptionally well priced. The store itself a clean and modern layout. As a consigner, they are an absolute pleasure to deal with and make it so easy to either get paid or store credit. Last year they unfortunately experienced a theft and even reimbursed me for the products I had on consignment. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and will point you in the right direction. If I need a piece of outdoor recreation gear or clothing I will always check here first.

As a consignment shop, selection is spotty - but everything they do have is in great shape. Great place to go if you usually rent climbing shoes, ski gear, etc, and want to save some cash but don't want to splurge on brand new gear. Clothing selection is also good and it all looks new.

So much top brand merch at a fraction of the original price. Today I tried on hiking gear, scuba equipment, winter wear and unfurled a 2.5M stunt kite, but ended up getting a sick deal on some flight proven hiking boots. Will be back for winter stock up.

Was visiting from Colorado and stumbled upon this place the second day open. They already had a great selection of outerwear and gear to choose from. Prices are unreasonably low, $20 will land you a killer new flannel. If you don’t like really awesome surprises and supporting a couple cool dudes with a killer local business, don’t visit this store.

This is a great local business. This is probably the best place to sell used gear in the greater Seattle area. Compared to other consignment shops, wonderland has put in a fresh perspective on consignment with an emphasis on the customer. After a few visits staff will start to recognize you, and it really feels like a community. Both the buying and selling experiences are excellent here. The little things, such as great displays and store layout, and having mattresses pre-inflated to prove that they hold air, go a long way - most other shops curiously leave there pre-owned mattresses deflated, making it hard to know if they actually hold air. I think being in the cutthroat retail environment that Seattle is, and with all of the tech money in Seattle, Wonderland has rightly decided to focus on consigning modern, name-brand gear. You probably won't find any old school xc skis with 3-pin bindings here! Prices are reasonable for what you're getting, but because retail on a lot of these items is so high, used prices are also high. Certainly there are other shops that have a wider variety of older gear at cheaper price-points, such as 2nd Base in U district - I think both stores are excellent even with slightly different focuses.

Big fan of these guys and Wonderland Gear Exchange. Offering quality consignment outdoors equipment and apparel a second life is so appreciated by those of us getting into new sports on a budget. They’ve really done the legwork on creating an amazing space, and displaying their merchandise in a way that’s easy to shop and helps the sellers move their used gear and make money! Clear out your closet, and get over there as soon as you can to setup an account and turn your old stuff into the new stuff that you’ve been dreaming about!

Wonderland Gear Exchange is a fricking treasure house. I’ve worked/volunteered in the outdoor industry for a LONG time and regularly buy and sell used gear. WGE has a great selection if you are looking to buy. There’s a great mix of things, including all you need to get started with backpacks, sleeping bags and pads, stoves, etc. Nice selection of ice axes, mountaineering boots, and crampons as well. I’ve even seen a BD El Dorado tent and Cilo packs! Lots of great kids stuff to for those that outgrow things by next week. I also consign regular clothing A LOT and by far WGE has the best system I’ve ever seen. Its online portal is easy to use and you can see all your items, their listed price, and status. Ben is great to work with. I left my gear and he priced and listed everything in the portal. While reviewing, I found one item was priced too low for what I was willing to sell. I gave him a call and he happily and immediately pulled it from the floor and I picked it up later that week. With all the other consignments I’ve worked with I’d be handed a paper I would have inevitably lost. Need gear? Go to WGE. I’ve already bought a couple of things I had been looking for. Selling gear? Go to WGE and use the easiest portal ever to track your things.

I’m a 73 year old ex-Ski Patrol guy who’s skiing days have very recently passed him by (as it is “such is life”). I brought 7 upscale items to their place for consignment (skis, ski boots, ski gloves, ski pants, & other misc ski items). In less than 10 days all the items were GONE. Once you show up there with consignment items in hand it will all be handled by their web portal. When an item sells it becomes listed in your “Consignee login account. It lists the item(s), what it sold for, as well as your commission. If you have multiple items, as I did, I waited just short 10 days for “all 7 items” to sell and then collected my $$$ via PayPal (you can request payment via PayPal, Snailmail check, or you can pick the check up at the store), or you can choose to apply it to their in-store Credit… Plus 10%. This is a great place to recycle your worthy outdoor active equipment. Once you drop it off you never have make your way there again,, then again, if you are a buyer this IS THE place to go. I did take a big spin around their store and I did not see anything that belonged on the shelves of Salvation Army. Like I said, “THIS IS the place to go”.
