The address shows on Lexington, but the entrance is located on E30th street on the corner. It’s on the 8th floor. The building has other business. Not just Gucci, I feel it’s too much going on in one location. Out of all the Gucci locations, Id recommend Wooster street as the best one.

Can't believe I have not been here before! Felt much more like having an up close and personal experience of a creatively curated "costume' exhibition at The Met, than being in 'a store'. Most of it beyond my budget but I could still appreciate and enjoy the art of it - and the experience of wandering the 7 floors. Haven't seen anything else quite like this. Very cool!

Walking inside, those who aren't aware of what the store has to offer and are love affordably will welcomed by a unique store with interesting clothing installation and setup. However, when climbing further to each of the seven floors, the experience quickly becomes other-worldly to the casual shopper. In passing, you may question the connections staff possess to even be given a position of employment. In that same thought, you may even question how much they paid to work here. With each advancing floor, you may quickly reconsider even looking at the socks. Oh, and be honest with yourself--if you have to ask for the price, you can't afford it. In all seriousness, Dover Street is a high-end clothing store offering only the most premium products of premium brands. The first two floors may only be within the everyday shopper's budget, but every guest with even the slightest interest should browse everything. As others have mentioned, security and staff workers who are all tasked with being attentive to their surroundings are present. But with a business selling brands like Gucci that have t-shirts at $5,000, this shouldn't remotely be surprising. During my recent experience here, my group of four all carried in backpacks. Employees were more attentive to us, yet with how easy shoplifting could be, it only made sense, and this did not in any regards make us feel unwanted or targeted for any explicit reason.

I have been going to DSM every weekend for about 6 months now. Every time I arrive, I am very nicely greeted by the staff and they are there to help at anytime. One specific employee, Jessica (on the 6th floor), has helped me every time I arrive with anything I need. Her hospital and attention to customers is like no other. I’m extremely grateful for her being there and I know I can depend on her for any questions on items while in store or through text messaging.

This is my fashion sanctuary. Dover street is an amazing store with a carefully curated selection of various designer boutiques. I also love the cafe with its own bakery. Pastry chef Theresa makes amazing quiches and they have some of the best Americano in the city.

What was once a place to discover niche and establishing designers is now simply a place to buy established brands found across the web. Sure, some exclusives exist. These exclusives are typically unique patterns/prints, not exquisite one offs from the runway. They’re from Prada, not Andreas Grossi. They don’t make a splash and even the Kiko Kostadinov pieces were lackluster. I love Raf and Miuccia together, but they have a measly half rack while Balenciaga has a security guard post. The Walter buy was a tad predictable. Priorities are on big ticket items for the easy-to-please. I can’t blame them, easy money is easy money, but in 2022 this place must now be a beacon for NYC. It is not. With losing Opening Ceremony, Totokaelo, 10 Corso Como, Words-Smith, and Barney’s the past two years - NYC is sort of desolate for places where thoughts and commerce converge. In hindsight maybe DSM was never as transgressive as I considered it originally to be, but it FELT rebellious and groundbreaking. It FELT like I was walking into somewhere unique. It’s not just that I’ve grown, it’s that DSM doesn’t seem to have. The curation and merchandising in 2022 hasn’t progressed to include many young designers establishing themselves throughout the pandemic. It doesn’t include many NYC designers or independent American studios. What makes the London DSM store a tad more unique is their investment in UK designers and different categories like vintage books and art editions. The cafe is more accessible too. Now lacking a space for an expansive vision of retail, where are young American designers and artists going to turn? Probably LA, which right now is in much better shape than NYC on thought commerce. The LA DSM is even worse than NYC, somehow. And I hear from friends that working for DSM isn’t a positive experience so I can’t feel good about supporting them even if I did see items I wanted. I’m not saying these things because I hate DSM. I want DSM to be the best it can be despite also functioning as a capitalistic venture. The racks haven’t moved since I last visited in 2019, and the clothing doesn’t appear to reflect Spring 2022 just yet. Maybe they’re hurting fiscally, but I’m more inclined to believe they’re not putting in the effort to source and accommodate new work. It’s easier to rely on the crowds rabid for hype (and now fairly stale) brands like Supreme, Gucci, and Balenciaga. There is, however, a lovely new display of archival JPG. Thank you Courtney for leaving a quick and courteous comment about asking for a tour of exclusives next I’m in. I do know my way around the store so didn’t think to ask, BUT will next time. Perhaps there is a secret room with exclusives I don’t know about from underrepresented designers? Thanks for reading - hoping this space lives up to its potential in 2023.

I was looking for some specific item, when we find it and nobody was there to help us, something that surprise me because I visited other DSM in London and Japan and the experience is very different. Then waiting like 25 min finding someone to help me, thankfully we find a guy who works there, he treat us well and was very helpful. But overall please get more attention on your customer service.

They carry brand designer names all within one retail space so really makes for an interesting and convenient shopping experience, but can seem pricey (you get what you pay for; top quality=top dollar). I came here on a Saturday around noon. Not many people. This place reminds me of 10 Corso Como. Highly curated luxury boutique-like shopping for apparel, shoes, and accessories. They had some beautiful jewelry on the first floor. I will definitely be looking up some of the designers. I’ve been looking for pure 14k/18k gold jewelry in modern styles, and this place has a decent selection. I’m tired of gold-plated, and even gold-filled. As they seem to tarnish or wear out in a short period of time. There are 7 floors to explore. They’re all small, so you can go through each pretty quickly. If you’re looking for a specific designer, there’s a directory of which designers are on which floors in the elevator. Lots of designers in current trends and styles available. The curation leans towards edgy, street, alternative luxury style.

I almost rented this building ten years ago and am so impressed with the architectural work that I've visited several times in the last month. Besides that, the high end merchandise is intriguing and I'm looking forward to try the gourmet-style kitchen there. Worth a visit, certainly.

I honestly really love the store also the design and products in it. However, I don't like the attitude of the staff team here. They can wear like a hypebeast but they can't act like a hypebeast to customers. I don't even see their friendly vibes to me. They didn't let me touch on the Gucci bag without a specific reason. I feel like I can't touch on those stuff because those are expensive and they think I don't really understand about it so don't touch it!! I just feel uncomfortable after I come to the store!

I gave it 4 stars because there were some really helpful people and then there were some gold diggers. When you judge this book by it's cover you miss out on a sell. When you say things that are not conducive to a positive shopping experience you miss out on a sell. When you offer me products YOU KNOW do not match my aesthetic or meet my personal fashion image you get ignored & you miss out on a sell. Do better. If these details do not matter to you than clearly neither does your paycheck. Do better. I gave them 4 stars however because the guys on the lower level were super kind & helpful. They deserve 7 stars. Sorry your team ruined it. Maybe you can teach them what NOT to do.

I often shop online at DSM so when I travelled to New York I was really excited to come here. The store didn't disappoint but the girl working on the cdg play level certainly did! Really dampened my experience in this store and made me not want to buy anything.

I’m a very longtime shopper at CDG and DSM and have never had a negative thing to say about either until now. I recently made an e-purchase and had a couple of follow up questions. My email was never answered, although within 24 hours is promised and repeated phone calls to DSM were answered with a recording saying that the mailbox was full. Contact should be as simple as it is to make a purchase and as is apparent from previous comments, this has been an inconsiderate issue for months.

I love this place, and I’ve been here multiple times before. Everyone is so nice, but because of my age I don’t seem to be treated like others. Today, I went to the mezzanine section of the store and asked the lady working the desk about what palace pieces she had in stock. She pulled out the computer and she let me know they had the Ralf lauren collection in stock. I was so happy I was literally going to spend all of my 360 dollars I had on me. She said that they didn’t have any where she was, but I saw the cabinet next to her had plenty of clothing in it through the mirror. Now, I understand that whatever I had requested may have not been in the cabinet, but after I mentioned it to my friend she quickly closed the door. Across the way, in the 2nd floor balcony a man with a “Walkie-Talkie” called her and shook his head like he was mad at her. Than she said she was sorry and that they didn’t have any available. I was and still am upset because I actually had my hopes up. I like this place so much but YOU WILL be profiled and treated differently depending on what you’re wearing, look like and how old you are. However, I could always be wrong and there could’ve been an inventory issue, but I do stand by what I say when I mean “you will be profiled”

It's kinda like going to fashion and uber hip lifestyle museum or at gallery. It's a mini department store of fashion icons housed in an beautiful old Bank. They sell predominantly clothing and jewelry but there's also a cafe and they sell some unusual homewares. The price point is interesting because it goes from reasonably priced to outrageous. In that respect, there's something for everyone. The food looked interesting in the cafe and you'll find some really unusual gift items as well throughout the store depending on what your budget is. Definitely worth having to look.

This is certainly an intriguing store and worth a look for the creative displays and clothing. Not a single salesperson so much as glanced at me, and I understand the comments about some being snooty. I certainly spotted a few extremely aloof young saleswomen who looked like they thought they were better than buttered bread. But as far as rude - the people working a block away at Kalustyan's are heads and heels nastier than anyone working here. I've always admired Comme des Garçons and the genius of Rei Kawakubo. Would I wear any of the clothing sold here - probably not, but as a fine artist, I can certainly appreciate it. A lot of it is extravagant and highly creative - the exception is the sneaker floor. I know a lot about high-end kicks - Nike, Off White, etc., but most of what they had on display here was just butt ugly. I had far more fun browsing the shoes at Bergdorf's and the punks working this floor were snottier than any of the people working on other floors with snooty-worthy merchandise. One last word - the elevators and layout of this store are annoying.

The interior design of DSMNY is always fresh and unique, you would think it’s an art gallery. They offer a wide selection of apparel, ranging from established household names to new, up-and-coming brands. Popular streetwear brands such as Supreme and Palace could be found here also. A must for anyone into fashion and design. Ask for Joel when you stop by. He always has me set up and offers great customer service.

As the one in ginza, although slightly less impressive, this store is more than a store. It's a stroll in a museum of awesomeness. Huge selection of big and smaller designers and a maze to walk around. Very stylish and nice staff, knowledgeable and don't rush to you with stupid questions. If you like japanese fashion, you can't miss the undercover 'closet'. Great store that deserves a detour because it is a bit lost!

Didn't really see a lot of pieces you couldnt find in other shops around Manhattan. Sales people quite vacant slightly stifling atmosphere overall. The interior design is very interesting though and the security guards were super friendly and welcoming. The staff working near the book section muttering why I would want a book on Michael Fassbender to themselves when I had asked if they have any books on R.W. Fassbinder was a particular highlight. I've only ordered online, so I can't speak on the actual employees or the store in NY, but the E-shop is A M A Z I N G!!!!! Ordering is suuuuper easy, and I literally get my stuff TWO DAYS after I order it. They ship out the day you order, and it may be because I live pretty close (Michigan) but it gets here before I even think about where it is!!!!

Dover Street Market is way ahead of the fashion forward curve. DSM features edgy clothing that 20 and 30 somethings will wear now that older people will probably wear in a year or two. If you want the track on where fashion is and where it is going this is clearly the store to frequent. Clothing is attractively displayed and sales persons are friendly, helpful and approachable. Dover St Mkt is a fashion romp not to be missed.

The shopping experience at DSM NY is no different from the DSMs in other major cities like the London and Tokyo. The staff, as a whole, are not exceptionally friendly, but then again, that is not why you visit DSM. The sale is not particularly great nor extensive, so you might be lucky to find something your size on sale. However, Rose Bakery at DSM NY is pretty good. Located on the ground floor of the 7storey store, it is a good place to sit down to a pot of tea and a slice of cake. Especially, after having done a day of shopping in the city and the store itself. I recommend their cakes, which all look pretty through the glass counter. The pistachio cake was neither too dense, nor too light and has a nice sweetness to it. Apart from the sneakers that I bought, Rose Bakery was the best part of my DSM NY experience.

The only remark that I can make is that the prices are displayed without VAT and this is not directly mentioned, we only learn it at the checkout and the difference is therefore obvious. Normally my item cost $133 and with the $148 tax, I was quite surprised. So possibly put the price with the tax included...
