Amazing HONEST staff. Always helpful. Exchanged a pair of pants that were pretty loose after wearing them for 30 minutes or so. I didn't realize that I had already put $200 in cash in a pocket since I was getting ready to go out. We called them 3 hours later when I realized what I had done and they found the pants and the money was still in the pocket. i made sure to leave a tip also. Thank you Rod's and your staff, especially Ken for helping us out.

Plenty of boots and western gear here. Would recommend for new boots, jeans and shirts. Men's, women's and kids wear. Word of advice, bring the credit card. It is NOT cheap. There is also a tack shop in rear for all the barn supplies needed. 1 shirt of clearance rack ran me 51 dollars today. The jeans on clearance for 54 bucks didn't fit...thank goodness. Neat country and western wear place.

I went to Rods while visiting a friend in Columbus and I had been in search for a new hat. Abby in the tack barn helped me and made the hat of my dreams. I am so beyond thankful for all of her help and conversation during the process! Thank you thank you thank you! The other barn with clothing, home goods, and shoes was very pretty and well stocked. However, every customer service person looked like they dreaded being there. Did not see one smile, never offered help, and not nearly as pleasing as the main tack barn. I still have five stars because the experience with Abby was very well worth it!

We arrived and weren't exactly sure which building was the correct one so we drove around the parking lot. Once inside, a wide variety of western apparel and country themed accessories are displayed. Very nice displays, neatly organized. We will return to hopefully find boots that will fit my extra large calfs.

Nice place, with helpful service. I was looking at a specific Stetson fedora online and decided to drop in since they sell Stetsons. Rod's employees fit me for a Stetson. They didn't have the one I wanted, and advised me to buy online since it would take much longer if I ordered through them. Great service prioritizing my needs over their profits. I look forward to buying from them in the future.

This is the place to come for boots, there is no doubt about that and I would venture to say that’s their primary source of income. Either way they have a huge selection… Actually we had such a good experience here initially, with the staff in the shoe area; despite our looking out of place. Very polite I gentlemen helped us, which of course is all you can ask for as a customer. Sadly the cashier gal was less accommodating, but nobody has perfect records and days… They have apparel too, I’d say the sort that you might wear if you don’t dress at the mall or Forever 21 and live outside city limits and like good old American made stuff. Enjoy!

This is the best tack and western wear shop in the region. Their boot selection is better than anything on line. The staff does a great job of being accessible with out pestering you. They also know what they are talking about. The shop is family owned and local. They give back to the community as well. Spend your cash here- not on Amazon who treats their employees like a third world operation.

Purchased a blush, wool fedora online from Rod's and overall I'm happy with everything. The hat is exactly what I was looking for and a great price compared to other retailers online. Only comment was that the hat had a light layer of dirt on the top (but I was able to gently clean it with Woolite and got everything out). Order arrived at my doorstep within 5 days of buying it. I would purchase from this store online again :)

A great place to shop. They had all sizes and household items . I always checkout the clearence racks and the discounted household goods room. From cellphone cases to perfumes, From the smallest boots to perfect earrings. You can't leave without buying something...I love the smell of leather.

Loved this store! This store has something for everyone. When you first walk in they have lovely displays for their home goods. The selection is large and I thought it was reasonably priced. My biggest rave is the large selection of plus sized clothing. A rarity among most western stores. Easy to find, ample parking, and wonderful customer service. They do offer an online catalog and a real paper catalog. The bedding options in store and online are superb. Go check them out. You won't leave without having found something to take home! And ladies, let us not forget the large selection of pocketbooks and bags!

Really nice items but if you have to return or exchange something, be prepared to wait weeks for a refund or exchange. I returned a purse that I received and didn't like. I requested an exchange. They received my item on the 20th of October. As of the 29th of October they are working on items returned on the 13th? Do they need more help or are they seriously that slow? Customer service is always nice when I call but dang, this is taking a really long time! I'm 3 hours from Columbus, Ohio. Probably should have returned it in person!

Great place to get all things Western and Americana. My only complaint is that most of the clothing they sell is made in China, Vietnam, Haiti, etc. It'd be great if they made an effort to focus on clothing made in the USA.

So I got a pair of Jean's for xmas from my Mom and they didn't fit so I followed the directions to return them and it took nearly 30 days and several phone calls to get an exchange. Well... I needed help finding the right pair for me and a super helpful and fun gal in the store helped my find the perfect pair! If it weren't for the long return/exchange I would have given a 5 star!

Glad we stopped in today (03/01/2020) to find some of the items we were looking for such as boots and jeans. Found a replacement boots (same pair but mines were worn down) ; this time I got them with the steel toe as well (same style/color). Walking through the boots area two out of the three staff members were helpful and had great customer skills. First Jonathan helped me and answered my questions for my replacement boots. He was helping someone else, but ensured to do a quick check with me - once he was done fully helping the other person he helped me out (got my boots). While continuing on to check on shirts i wanted (need a few of them but a specific brand i like) - i was observing boot conditioner. Almost 40+ years of wearing boots and i never considered it until Austin reached out to mention it to me. He provided information and details on what I could use since I did not want something to make them shiny. He informed me about a specific conditioner which will help protect my boots (leather) in the long haul. There was a third member I had originally asked about a specific boot company, he mentioned were I could locate them (in that corner) and then went about to continue speaking to another staff member. Again, just thinking it was a moment (an opportunity) when a customer is asking a question in which the staff member should have taken the initiative to ask if there is anything they can help with or assist. In the end, I got my boots and now boot conditioner. On to the shirts and jeans experience. Abby was very amazing and helpful from the beginning in answering all my questions; plus she had some good suggestions. I was able to take home a few shirts after trying several on - glad it worked out. Next I was checking a few jeans; again Abby had some great suggestions and was very helpful. I ended up finding the jean i was looking for thanks to Abby. Now this is what customer service skills are all about - very exemplary. In addition, Abby, Sarah, and Raelynn collectively helped my wife find a hat and answered a few questions. Collectively they helped us find more than that as well - just amazing staff. We are sure to return as time permits - i still want a second pair of boots (same boots) plus to replace a couple more shirts/jeans to downsize some of our clothing which has plenty years (worn down).

I must say that I was surprised by the presence of any negative reviews. I have purchased gifts from Rod's for the horse crazy people in my life, off and on over many years. Recently, my 12 year daughter made the decision to start riding English, and will be competing on an IEA team. Because I'd had positive experiences in the past at Rod's, I took her there for riding boots. The selection for English boots was small, but we did find something. Unfortunately, we discovered a few weeks after purchase, that the boots didn't fit the standard that she will be judged on for equitation. I was disappointed to have spent a fair amount of $ the boots, only to be told they weren't going to be acceptable. She had worn the boots, and I figured that I would be stuck with them. Without any expectations at all, I called the store and asked to speak with a manager. I first spoke with a supervisor by the name of Allison, and she was very helpful and friendly. I explained what the issue was, and she assured me that she would speak with the store manager as soon as she came in to work. A few hours later, I got a call back from Megan, the store manager, and she was wonderful. I truly cannot say enough positive things about how she handled the situation. She was apologetic, and offered a solution that I felt was very fair. I will definitely continue to shop at Rod's, and I hope anyone reading this review will consider the same.

Easy to find from the highway just watch for the horse in the air. Easy parking. Several parking spots available. Easy parking for a full size truck. I stopped by looking for boot inserts for a few pair of boots I purchased in Texas. When we walked into the door we were greeted by a gentleman asking if there was anything he could help us with. I explained what I wanted he directed me in the right direction. When I walked to the area the lady there greeted us by introducing herself to us stating if there was anything we needed she was there to help. I explained to her I was looking for inserts. She took us to the area where the inserts were and began looking. Quickly she found the pair. She put one into my boot for me to try. I decided as soon as I placed my foot into my boot that is what I wanted. She offered to put the second one in the other boot. I reached for the package saying I would take them up front to pay. She offered to take the empty package to the front so I could continue to look. We ended up picking up a few other items. When I went to the front I told the lady there I had another package that was empty that I needed to pay for along with the other things. She quickly thanked me for my honesty. Yes I could have walked out without paying for them since they were in my boots. The boot selection is limited to mostly square toed boots. I realize the folks In the central Ohio are prefer the square toed boots so it is understandable. I will continue to shop at Rods for future needs. Great selection of western wear and work wear. I would encourage anyone in the central Ohio area that is looking for a good store for western wear that wants great customer service to visit Rod's. Thank you for a great experience in Central Ohio.

When it comes to Western style boots, Rods is the only place I trust to get the right pair at a good price. When I bought my Ariat boots a few weeks ago the lady in the boot section answered any question I had and had the best recommendation for how my feet would fit. The boots I bought fit well but needed a little loosening on the left. So I took my boots in and they stretched them for me at no charge to me which is awesome. I picked them up and thought they were good but they still needed work so I took them back in and again it was at no charge to me. Just shows that this company stands behind the products they sell and they keep thier word when it comes to service. I recommend anyone that needs any new boots or other gear to give these guys a try. Thank you to the people at Rods for helping me out.

After seeing poor reviews left by others, I just had to write and leave my own review to tell of our experiences. We live 5 1/2 hours away in Western NY but always stop when we are traveling in the area. We show Paint horses and have purchased supplies both in the store and by mail order and have never had any negative issues with Rod's. We appreciate the selection, customer service and prices and are looking forward to our July visit. As a business owner myself, I know that sometimes bad reviews are left by competitors using fake e-mail accounts or as I see in one case here, former employees trying to hurt a company's reputation. We have shopped for very specific show items such as a particular bit, silver stirrups or a particular western hat with a certain crease and have always found the staff very helpful.

Rods is for people who show horses. They have lots of clothes and tack but not the friendlest staff. I shop there because there is no other store. They just need to remember not everyone shows but we have horses and our money is good.

I'm editing my review because I just received a thank you message from Rods and I should have been better at writing my review. My sister and I are from Western ny and order alot from Rods magazine, well we decided to road trip to Columbus just to go to Rods actual store. We started in the main store and the employees couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. They even let me charge my phone while we shopped. Then we went over to the tack building and the girls there stayed after closing hours to help my sister get exactly what she needed for her horses. We couldn't have been happier or had a better experience and we will definitely make the road trip again!

I went to Rod's and although I was the only customer there most of my 35 minute visit, I was not impressed at all. Several staff around, and although I had $1000 on me to spend to get several new wardrobe items, I felt as though I was bothering them each time I asked a question. All three items, they said, We'll call and get that from the warehouse, it'll be 15 minutes." One of my concerns was that even pairs of jeans marked exactly the same size AND style AND brand, were completely different, some wouldn't meet, others baggy, I showed the clerk one pair that was clearly mismarked because the legs were 3" longer--she folded and put them back on the shelf with the others. My advice is not to buy jeans unless you try on every pair, they are not as labeled.

The selection of hats, boots, clothes, tack, and gear is great. I was sad not to find hats by Stetson. But many other brands were present. There are two store buildings. The team were very helpful in pointing me to the other building while attending to their work. Looked like a cobbler was making adjustments to a pair of boots in the store closest to the street. A few hats and many caps there as well as all manner of Western wear. The treasure trove of hats was in the back building. A fun place with good people, Rod's is a palace.

Drive 4 hours to shop here. Bought 7 pair of jeans last week. Customer service was great. Employees took time to help me and didnt make me feel rushed. They give me true opion on how things fit. They dont try to make a sale by saying everything looks good. I am a retail manager and this is how a customer should be treated.

Rod's has a wide selection of great products, but they have poor customer service. Do not buy boots there, l will never make the mistake again. I had to send a pair of boots that were purchased there back to the company to be repaired, they haven't been able to give me a direct answer to when these boots will be sent to me. The managers have not returned any of my calls on this matter and do a poor job in communicating with me on the matter. Thanks to to the new manager Ann I have gotten my boots finally. Unfortunately I have still had issues with the actual Lucchese boot, so I took them back to Rod's and they are fixing the issue in a great timely manor this go around. I would like to personally thank Ann for the great customer service. I really appreciate the timely feedback that I have received from her. Thanks Rod's for fixing my issue for good. Have been buying my western gear here for the last 9 years. Wife and I stopped in earlier today so I could get a new cowboy hat. Was $100 got it for $75 and they have a steamer to bend the hat the way you want it before you buy it or you can bring in your hats you already have that are out of shape and they will put them back in shape. Staff was extremely helpful. The store is easy to get to from the fair grounds or from 71 n/s or 270.

I don't recall the lady's name that assisted me the last time, she was maybe 5'6, blonde hair and worked in boots. I was trying on all sorts to gauge what looked best on me and she fawned over my 7 month old daughter and was excited to fit her for boots- a service which I sadly had to decline- once I was done my husband had taken her to the car and decided to wait. Rod's is a wonderful place to visit.

The only place in town where I can find jeans that actually fit!--I'm just a tad taller than the average woman, not overweight, on the low-mid-end for my height, but my legs are definitely longer than average for my height. I used to be able to find men's 29wX34l jeans at any mall store before America got, er, overweight. You can't find women's jeans that long unless high heels/platforms are in style. Rod's has this size! The Wrangler's are way cheaper here than buying jeans at a mall--heck, even the Levi's outlet/catalog can't get this size when it used to be so common back in the 80's/90's. If not for Rod's I'd be stuck wearing "highwaters." Rod's has nearly every imaginable jeans size, best kept secret in cowtown and what with The Anderson's closing, great to hear they now sell work boots, another thorn in my side, very few places to find reasonably priced waterproof boots for hiking around campus in the winter, but apparently Rod's carries those now, too. Great place to find work gear, not just for horse lovers!
