Bought my 1st hat there, April 1986. Sadly, head bigger, the hat shrinking. Still, it was a great hat... whiskey color, gambler/telescope crown/porcupine quill hat band. Next Rte. 66 trip, I'm shopping there. Wanna look good in my Mustang convertible.

Saw this place on Fox News the other day. I am newly retired and moving to Arizona and wanted to treat myself to a nice hat and also one for my wife. Went in right when they opened and was greeted right away. I discussed what I was looking for and he took over. I was fitted and tried on lots of hats and had so much fun. I ended up getting 3 hats for myself and one for my wife and son. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone who happens to be lucky enough to be in Albuquerque. 100 thumbs up thanks for the experience.

I neglected to ask for his name, but the gentleman behind the counter was infinitely helpful in finding the perfect hat. A beautiful Stetson boater made in Italy. The shop was incredible, with a plentiful selection. Each had was early accessible to try on, a number of mirrors were available throughout the store, and the hats for sale weren't bad either. Highly recommended, I'd go back anytime.

Best place to get a hat! I went there once when I was visiting family and wanted to get something that would protect me from the sun. Not only was it the first place that actually had multiple types of hats that fit my huge head, but they knew everything about them all. I never realized how much there was to know about hats, but they sure knew everything. On top of it all, they were welcoming, respectful, and trustworthy. I am now across the country and with my new order I trust that I will be a happy customer yet again. Worth the trip and worth a call.

I've owned over thirty hats in my lifetime, including two customs. Wanting a true 40X beaver felt western hat has always been my dream. Went to all the chain stores, but nothing quite struck my fancy. So, I took my favorite straw to the nice folks at Man's Hat Shop where Bill patiently spent an hour with me. By the time I left, my Resistol shell was selected and my measurements taken. I left the straw as an example of the shape I wanted. When I returned two days later, Stuart had already completed my hat. The shape was spot on and the fit was perfect. And this is a "true" 40X beaver felt with all the custom finishes. They gave me a great price as well. However, I doubt that I will ever return for another hat.... This one will last me more than my lifetime and then some. 65 years of doing business, and believe you me, these folks are the best there is. Thank you Bill and Stuart for a great hat and an even greater experience.

Paid 50 cents at the meter to go inside. I am in the market for a “Stetson Stratoliner” specifically the hemp straw hat. My bride and I were greeted promptly by a gentleman behind the counter. While kind of browsing, I mentioned what I was looking for and he said “yes they come in felt and straw. All I have is felt.” I mentioned the one I’m looking for is a hemp special edition. In a condescending way he said “oh a straw hat.”Not a good start IMO. Nevertheless, my bride asked about crushable hats. He point to where they were and we looked. While in the area of the crushables he mentions they’re for cooler weather and growing up on a sheep farm and cow ranch we’re well versed about head wear. My bride said thank and he asked what size I wore and I replied my size not thinking anything of the question. A few mins pass and he calls me from across the room. Not knowing the size question was for him to bring a felt hat out for me to look at, I gave him a confused look. He said “come here or don’t. I’m not going to make you.” While glancing at my t shirt which happens to be a tee with my tribe on it. I didn’t get the warm and fuzzy feeling from the gentlemen. More of i was being a bother But we did get a great aqua fresca from the food hall!

Also, they've a monster sized selection of straw cowboy hats, fedoras, homburgs, fishing hats, driving caps, boaters, you name it, as well as hat cases and a gorgeous selection of locally made hat bands. If, for some reason, they don't have or can't make precisely what you need, they've no issue with saying so and recommending other trusted shops. Utilized by countless movie and TV costumers, as well as genuine cowboys and ranchers, there's good reason why people drive from Utah, Texas, and Colorado to buy their hats here and why many refer to The Man's Hat Shop as legendary.

I was in town on a trip and knew it was a long shot because of the style of hat I wanted is regional, but I went on in. The guys there are great; Bill was super helpful and knowledgeable. They didn't have the style of hat I wanted, but they blocked up a new hat for me, and listened to all my desires. I left town before it was ready, but they shipped it to me. I was nervous about this since I had tried on a completely different style hat since they had to re-block it, but I trusted them; I cannot say how much I LOVE this hat. The hat was a great deal and a 5X. I would recommend this shop to anyone and will be back! I want to work there and learn this trade... and have the best excuse ever to wear my hat everyday.

I have purchased a number of fur felt hats from this shop. They have a large selection of fedoras, homburgs, pork pie, cowboy, and others as well as a large selection of straw hat styles. Maybe the only true hat shop in Albuquerque. It's the go to place to get a nice hat of any style!

I own a small guest ranch and this is where we recommend all of our guests go for a quality hat in a wide range of prices. From 100% beaver to straw, this shop has it. You will get good advice and not just a sale. They can make your hat look like anything you desire so it helps to come with an idea of what style you want. If you don't know what style, no worries. They have been helping people look better for years.

This store has a wide selection of hats. Parking with meters right in front of the store. The msn in there was great. Very helpful, and will honestly tell you if the hat looks good on you or not. They also clean hats and give you clear instructions on how to care for your new purchase.

Ladies: they have hats for you, too!! I have been looking for months a nice wide-brimmed hat for shading my very fair face and nose, especially in this high desert. I have ball caps, but wanted something much more dressy. We stopped into The Man's Hat Shop on a whim this morning and asked if they might have any women's hats. J.W. was very knowledgeable and helpful. He helped me get fitted and suggested different looks of the crown, various brim widths, and discussed the pros and cons of different venting styles. I was able to get one exactly in my budget, and J.W. heated and shaped the brim of my hat to give it a more feminine touch. I took off the band and tied a ribbon and bow in its place. The hat served me very well all afternoon at the NM Wine Festival! Thanks, J.W. and The (Wo)Man's Hat Shop!
