Reviews of Hillsboro Presbyterian Church
Lynne McCalla
My husband and I have been members of Hillsboro Presbyterian Church for 29 years. We joined because of the hospitality, friendliness and worship content. Over the years we have shared so many wonderful times with this congregation! And yes there have been some not so wonderful times like in every church. Through all of the activities and small groups over the years we have made many lifelong friendships. It is a community that we could not live without! We encourage you to come visit us - you may not go any place else!

Open, welcoming, accepting followers of Christ. This fellowship of believers understands that we are who God made us, and we need to work with that, rather than trying to conform to a medieval, Anglo-Saxon, misinterpretation of piety. Just as Christ loved all people exactly as he found them, so Hillsborough Presbyterian Church is showing compassion and care for all with needs big and small.

I'm a teenager now, but I've been at Hillsboro since I was 2 years old. I was baptized at the church and it's a place where I know people love me. Social justice issues are important to me so I'm happy to be part of a church where they also matter to the community.

I've been a member since 1988, and this church has been an active part of my life, supporting me in the roller-coaster of life's ups and downs. I return the support back. Good people, good faith, no exaggeration! Recently, HPC has celebrated it's 100 Year Anniversary (💯 Wow!), and is embarking on a New Century Project to renovate our church campus and outreach to new members & the community - for the NEXT 100 years. Please come join us in this exciting time, and celebrate your faith!

What has kept me going to Hillsboro Presbyterian is the genuinely welcoming community. Years ago when I was church shopping, no one talked to me at one church, I didn't have the wardrobe to attend another. But when I went to Hillsboro Pres, folks were genuinely glad I was there, no matter what I was wearing. HPC is a caring community of fellow humans, each on a spiritual path supporting each other along the way. Come worship with us, eat with us, have fun with us.

We have traveled several miles past numerous churches for many years to worship with our Hillsboro family. Amy and Shane, along with our music minister, Stephen, use their gifts to teach, encourage, and challenge us to grow our faith both in community and individually. Hillsboro is a loving environment where you can be you, and that is good!

I've called Hillsboro Presbyterian Church home for the last 4 years. The congregation is warm and welcoming. Most important to me is a community that is authentic, open, and follows the example of the way Jesus lived, not just in its words but, more importantly, in its actions. That includes loving, serving, and treating others as Jesus would have and supporting (with manpower and money) the type of work that furthers this message throughout our community and our world. I found such a community in HPC and am so grateful for that.
