Dr. Scott and his staff are the best! They were able to see me immediately when I called them about my lower back pain that was keeping me from walking. One month later I hardly feel a thing! This man is awesome! I had a pinched nerve in my neck that radiated down my arm, up my head and down my back. I was driving around with a giant ice pack on my back. Nerve pain is so awful there isn’t anyway to describe it. Muscle relaxers and pain pills didn’t touch it. I saw Dr.Scott once a week for a few weeks and my pain has subsided for now. The entire experience was so caring and helpful. When you are young and have back pain not a lot of providers take you seriously, this man was as kind as they come. I've been to good chiropractors before but Dr. Scott is great! He is very thorough and tailors your adjustment to what is specifically needed. He asks detailed questions and offers tips in addition to the chiropractic treatment. He doesn't just do a standard neck and back adjustment but will adjust your shoulders, ankles, knees, etc if that is what your body needs. I truly feel like my health is a top priority when visiting Dr.Scott and wish I had met him sooner!

I suffered a neck and upper back injury about 8 weeks ago. After a massage I received a temporary relief, but my neck would stiffen up again after a day or two. I finally went to my family doctor and asked for suggestions and she prescribed an anti-inflammatory and a muscle relaxer. After about a week I still did not have much relief. My massage therapist suggested a chiropractor; however, they wanted to do a series of x-rays, would not take my insurance, and said I would most likely not get adjusted on the first visit. I googled 'Virginia Beach Chiropractor' and Dr. Scott was one of the top on the list. The reviews were very promising so I gave him a shot. He has been AMAZING! He did not do any unnecessary x-rays and took my insurance. He is extremely knowledgeable and in-tune with the human body, was able to point out the problem areas on my neck and back without me even showing him, and he not only adjusted my neck and back, but my entire spine and all connecting joints. I feel extremely comfortable with Dr. Scott and enjoy the relief that I feel after each visit. He also did not just adjust me and send me home, he gave me several exercises to do to strengthen the muscles around my problem areas and to heal my body quicker. I highly recommend Dr. Scott.

Reading these reviews led me to Dr. Birckbichler (aka Dr. Scott) in the first place. More often than not, I have encountered chiropractors that insisted I needed adjustments 3 times a week for countless months (usually to exhaust my insurance benefits) or used guilt to convince me to spend money “if I really cared about myself.” I can promise you, you will get none of that from Dr. Scott! He trusts me to “know” my body enough to determine when I need to come in. He spends time at each appointment to ask questions, he carefully explains what he’s doing and still manages to bring humor to the visit. I highly recommend Dr. Scott Birckbichler! Your neck, your back and your hips will be thanking you sooner than you think!

I had my first visit with Dr. Scott today (initial consultation and first adjustment). So far I'm impressed. I've been to one other specialist in the area and felt "dooped" at the end. I wasn't given any real assistance and felt they were going through the motions. Not so with Dr. Scott. Very thorough and knowledgeable. Everything he asked or did had a purpose. Dr. Scott Birckbichler is AMAZING! He saw me, listened to my pain and then did a couple of simple evaluations. My story: I have been seeing chiropractors on and off since 1997. They always managed to straighten out the problem, but it would reoccur. One said I walked like a duck and that was what was causing my hips to continue to get knocked out of place. No resolution. I talked to Dr. Scott. He did a few simple and painless evaluations always reassuring that I was not in any additional pain and always telling me exactly what he was doing and why. He recommended a heel lift and continued therapy. My back has NEVER felt BETTER! I cannot believe it. I ordered some lifts (very reasonably priced - I was anticipating at least $75.00 +... was I pleasantly surprised at the exceptionally low out-of-pocket expense) and his fee for an office visit (for those who may be skeptical because of no insurance coverage - I spend more than what his visit fee is on coffee and a snicker-doodle per week! I love Dr. Scott. He is awesome (and most importantly... his patients can call him Dr. Scott - because I'm an upstate hillbilly and can never pronounce his last name correctly. Being able to call him Dr. Scott is just an added bonus!) He truly listens to your issues - he does a thorough evaluation - looks to RESOLVE the issue and he always lets you what he is doing and why every step of the way - oh, and did I mention he goes another step farther and demonstrates the exercises he recommends so that you have NO EXCUSE not to do them correctly?!!!! I am telling you people he has an A++ personality and customer service plan. He truly goes above and beyond. I have recommended family, friends, strangers - it doesn't matter - if I overhear "ache", "pain" or been in a "wreck"... I tell them to go to Dr. Scott!

Over the years, in different locations around the country, I have seen many chiropractors. I've had some good ones, but I've been to too many that overstate, like the one promising to end most all my health issues if I only sign the contract and come 3-4 times a week (actually in VB!) The flip side are the one-size-fits-all that have 1 or 2 favorite adjustments believing it'll fix everybody's everything chiropractically. Not so with Dr Scott! I've been seeing him now for a couple years and I've never felt he's done anything but attempt my correct my unique needs. His adjustments are varied, productive and smooth. I have never felt rushed. Every visit he takes time to pin-point today's ailment then attempt to correct, constantly checking for comfort and success. The pudding proof is overall I'm in the best condition I've been for many years! One caution... he can get a little corny at times. To quote Dr B 'If you're in a wreck bring him your neck!'

I first started seeing Dr. Scott several years ago because I had recurring back pain from a previous car accident. I wasn't too sure about chiropractors in general, but I decided to give him a try. I saw him once a week for a few months, and by the end, my back pain was almost nonexistent. I had forgotten what it felt like not to have aches and knots in my back. I currently see him every so often just for maintenance (or when I sleep terribly wrong), and I would recommend him to anyone. He is very knowledgeable and shares that knowledge with his patients each session. If you do have any back pain or if you have chronic headaches, I would definitely give him a try. Dr. Scott has been treating me for the past few months and I can definitely tell a difference in the pain levels of my back/neck.
