I've had chiropractic care here for 20+ years. Obviously I think they are fantastic! Nightly headaches: gone. Degenerating disk: stopped degeneration. I was rear-ended while driving, made an appointment right away, received a few treatments and had no further affects. I’ve been coming to Desert Springs for a year and a half now and it’s been life changing. Both Doctor Casey and Doctor Arthur are phenomenal. After coming in with 5 subluxations and a bulging disc about year ago, my back is essentially back to full health and I can do all physical activities (lifting, playing basketball, golfing, etc) with no pain. I have been a patient of both Casey and Arthur for several months now. And after seeing 10 various therapist and MD over the last year, they in conjunction with PT are the only ones that were able make my everyday activities pain free. I've been through my fair share of chiropractors and back specialists to say the least, and this is the first time anyone has ever taken the time to really listen to my issues and come up with a logical treatment plan to resolve my issues. Dr. J and his staff spent over 3 hours with me over the course of 2 visits evaluating, educating and assessing my needs before even recommending treatment. He even insisted on getting my spouse and fitness trainer involved so that everyone was on the same page about my Care. After my first visit, I even received a personal phone call from Dr. J to make sure I was doing well. Completely blown away by this level of care. While I didn’t have debilitating pain, certain activities were very difficult to do due to acute pain. Certain specific movements would also cause my back to “go out.” I’m not quite finished with my initial treatment, but after a few weeks, my back felt significantly better. Further into treatment, I feel like my back is in a much better place as I can partake in activities I was unable to do before getting adjusted, and I have not had any back issues since. If you’re on the fence about heading into Desert Springs, do it! You won’t regret it.

I ended up with unexplained tailbone pain after a medical procedure. I was unable to sit or sleep comfortably and the pain persisted for months without reducing. I came to Desert Spring Chiropractic after dealing with multiple orthopedic specialists and physical therapy attempts. I was up front with Dr. Johnston that I didn't have much faith, but was willing to give chiropracty a shot before seeking tailbone surgery. It was a good thing I have them a chance! I've gone for adjustments for roughly a month to five weeks at this point. I have gone from being unable to sit, to being able to sit for a fair amount of time now (I still can't sit comfortably on a bench without pain, but progress is still progress). I would highly recommend giving the doctors and staff of Desert Springs Chiropractic a chance to help you. I was having extreme, consistent shoulder pain for months and getting the run around from other doctors without actually getting a diagnosis. I have NEVER been to a chiropractic office like this. From the moment you step in, even if it's your 1st visit, you are treated as if you've been to them for years. Doctors Arthur and Johnston ALWAYS greet you by name (as does the staff), know your treatment schedule and are always willing to answer questions. The staff is amazing - it's a well-run, friendly and fun office. I went in with severe sciatica and neck pain but they confirmed I had back fractures too (I knew this from previous x-rays but there was no treatment plan assigned by my primary care doctor for help/healing). Desert Springs provides a very detailed treatment plan and there are no surprises in terms of cost. They will work with you to give you the best possible option for payment. And, if they can't help you, they'll let you know that too. They are located in Mesa and I will tell you that it is absolutely worth the drive - after 3 weeks of treatment, my sciatica is completely gone and my neck and back are healing nicely. They hold a bi-monthly evening seminar called "Get well, stay well". I've learned so much from attending these seminars. Give them a try!

I started coming here a few weeks ago for low back/sacrum pain and numbness in my legs. Expect for the first 2 appointments to take over an hour, but for good reasoning. The doctors and rest of staff will get a lot of information about your current pain and medical history. They’ll take X-rays to fully evaluate your condition and make a comprehensive treatment plan that may involve physical therapy as well as adjustments. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Johnston and Dr. Arthur are both excellent chiropractors and are very committed to improving their patients’ quality of life. They’re very knowledgeable and share what they know with you so that a) you understand how what they’re doing helps you and b) you are equipped to make positive and necessary lifestyle changes to improve your overall health. I started chiropractor services to help alleviate migraines about 10 years ago and have seen multiple chiropractors since then. Last October I started working with a new MN chiropractor and based on my adjustment results, highly recommended that I start seeing a chiropractor that is certified in the Cox Technique. She was, but didn’t have the equipment. Since I was going to Mesa for about a month, she helped me find someone there that uses the Cox Technique. She found Desert Springs Chiropractic. I had a new patient examination with Dr. Craig Johnston, who along with his team, was very thorough, more so than I’ve seen with my previous chiropractors. Dr. Craig is very much a teaching doctor who wants you to be aware of what is going on with your spine/body. I knew my spine was in bad shape based on MRIs, and but he took the time to walk me through my x-rays, which are reviewed by an outside radiologist – extra bonus! I knew when I left my first appointment that our paths were suppose to cross and my journey to FINALLY healing was going to begin. I had 9 Cox Technique treatments while in AZ and noticed the numbness in my leg didn’t aggravate as quickly when I walked/stood than what normally would happen. My body handled the gentle movement of the Cox Technique so much better than normal adjustments. Not only does Desert Springs Chiropractic provide adjustments, but they also have staff to train you on exercises and have classes to help you learn more about your body! My journey will be a long one, but I’m very glad that it began at Desert Springs Chiropractic with Dr. Craig and the use of the Cox Technique. I only wish that I could continue my treatment with Dr. Craig, but I know that I have a trusted place to go when I am back in Mesa. I normally don’t write reviews, but I can’t thank Dr. Craig enough for the high level of care he gave me knowing that I was only going to be seeing him for 3 weeks. My whole experience at Desert Springs Chiropractic has been amazing! From the first visit it felt much different than any previous chiropractic office I had been to. The staff did a great job of explaining the process I would be going through and they asked a lot of questions in order to diagnose my issue. Compared to other clinics, I never felt rushed here, like I was just one of many patients they had to see that day. They are all very knowledgeable in their respective fields and are able to communicate effectively with people like you and I who aren't so educated in the field of chiropractics. I have had the most comfortable experience with Dr. Johnston. Not only has he helped me feel better, he has also educated me in my condition and has truly cared to build a trusting relationship with my husband and I. At first I was skeptical about getting Chiropractic care, but there was something different about the Doctor. and his staff. Went here for Gonstead specific Chiropractic care. My husband and I both have finished "Phase 1" (so each about 20-35 adjustments in the last 4 months) and I have seen almost all my misalignment/subluxation symptoms I came in for go away. I've been going here for approximately 6 years now. Initially, I came to Dr. Johnston with severe lower back and neck pain. I used to get headaches on a daily basis as a result of my neck pain. Dr. Johnston put me on a regularly scheduled adjustment/physical therapy plan, and over two years he overwhelmingly improved my back, neck, and shoulder pain. I also had the beginnings of scoliosis developing in my mid to upper back, and he managed to straighten my back so that that was no longer a concern. I've continued to come every 2-3 weeks for the last 4 years for regular adjustments and am very happy with the results. The office staff are also very nice and helpful, particularly Mona and Cherry. The Dr was very passionate about helping people and explained to me in detail about what was going on lower back and pain I had.[military and work]But on the second visit after my xrays were he explained his treatment plan. (which was very detail and seemed like it be good fit to start and to fix my issues) the price was alot more then I thought..... $850 a month.... now for 3 visits a week for 3 month average to 71 visit or pay 1850 up front which averages to about 51 visit.I don't know many 26 year Olds that have that kind of money extra in their budget. I'm happy with my experience at desert springs but I'm going to have to look for cheaper option.

So, I have waited a while to write this until I was getting back to performing my normal daily activities. I served 6 years in the Army and sustained a few injuries not related to my back, so I thought it was more like a ticking time bomb. About 5 months ago I felt a weird pain in my back, which rapidly turned into full muscle spasms which ultimately saw me bed ridden. The VA doctors literally told me “you are 24 and you are fine” and told me to drink water and drive on. The first chiropractor I tried didn’t have the resources or expertise to help me and pretty much stopped letting me schedule with him while I literally couldn’t get out of bed, nightmare situation!! So, I did some research and contacted Desert Springs Chiropractic Center and that next morning I was in doing x-rays and a full assessment of my situation. When I first went in, I was in the worst pain of my life, had no idea what was wrong with me and was truly scared. When I first spoke with Dr. Johnston, he was very thorough and explained to me exactly why I was feeling this way and what we needed to do to correct it. This brought me major peace of mind and that day we started the rehab process. I had several flair ups but every time I called, they got me in within hours. This was an extremely emotional situation coming from someone who is used to working out 5 days a week and being extremely active to barley being able to take a full breath. The team here understands this and helped me so much to get to the point I am today. Dr. Johnston also wrote several letters for me to the VA in order to get an MRI of my back and gave me some really good advice on how to handle these doctors. Needless to say I got an MRI and we were able to rule out some more serious problems. I write this because this really shows how dedicated Dr. Johnston is to his patients and how he will go out of his way to make sure his patients get the absolute best care possible. Who does that? :) They are very methodological and take accurate notes about all visita, issues, or improvements. In addition, they continue to work with my busy schedule. For example, examinations are only done during the week but since I am only home on weekends, they made an exception for me. This allows me to keep a regular schedule and get better. I am going on my 4th week into my program with Desert Springs Chiropractic and I have found this practice to be so different from any other Chiropractic office that I have been to. First of all, the Comprehensive exam and X-rays that are done at the beginning set the stage for the program that they advise for you. They definitely come from an educational angle and they make it clear that you will not be going there forever. What makes them different, in my opinion, is the physical therapy that precedes the adjustment. So they customize exercises to help improve the areas that are needing attention and these are done there at the office while preparing to see the Dr's. The Dr's always have my X-rays in front of their screens so they are always on track with what they are doing. Both Drs are amazing and exemplify skill along with care. They will be found in the large room talking with their patients, and all the staff are truly helpful and patient. I know I am in good hands with Dr's that care for your health and well being. All men are created equal, but the same cannot be said of chiropractors and the type of care they provide. There are the good, the bad and the, well, let’s not talk about the others. I have been someone’s chiropractic patient for years, but my first visit to Desert Springs Chiropractic Center was a new experience for me because they offered a program, if you will, toward wellness, with a follow up in the middle to assess your progress and determine whether the plan the doctor(s) had set up for you was working. Makes a lot of sense, and I like the accountability. Too often doctors can get comfortable with the status quo and run you through the same process, never taking another peak under the skin to determine the true success or failure of the adjustments and therapy. That doesn’t happen at Desert Springs. The follow through and the follow up are excellent and the doctors and staff are as awesome as the quality of your care. I highly recommend them.

I have had back and neck pain for many years. The pain caused me to endure restless nights for a period of months. I had tried a couple of other chiropractors prior to Dr. Johnston and Dr. Kohl at Desert Springs Chiropractic. The other chiropractors were the same in that they twisted and turned me until my back cracked and sent me on my way until the next appointment. I was referred to Desert Springs Chiropractic through an orientation with them at my gym. At my first visit I specifically told Dr. Johnston I was very skeptical and had little faith in chiropractic care. I have a totally different view now! This was the first time a chiropractor took x-rays and specifically showed me the areas of concern in my lower back and neck. They educated me and explained the recovery process thoroughly. The technology they use is much easier on my body during adjustments, so there is no discomfort. Desert Springs has me perform necessary exercises in their office to ensure my back and neck muscles keep my spine in proper alignment in conjunction to their adjustments (another first in my chiropractic experiences). I’ve suffered from back pain for over ten years. I have seen three different chiropractors, physical therapist, and most recently corticosteroid injection treatment. I was referred to Dr. Johnston's office by a friend for my lower back pain and frequent headaches. I was 21 at the time, but I felt like I was 50! I had endured several injuries and manipulations to my spine throughout my life that went untreated (falls, carrying heavy objects for extended periods of time, etc), so I was in bad shape. With only a couple months of therapy and adjustments, my lower back pain disappeared! Also, instead of 5 headaches a month, I now RARELY have them and my overall quality of life has much improved! I would like to share a wonderful discovery of my well being. I was referred to Desert Springs by my son who was seeking relief from a bicycle accident. I had sought chiropractic care in the past, but no one really addressed the issues with my hip pain, pelvis and sacrum. After my first adjustment with Casey, I could tell my walking gait was greatly improved. Subsequent visits over 2 weeks validated this for me. I have routine massages every couple of months for which I would tremble and tense when my right side was touched just above my buttocks. 10/10 would recommend. This whole office has no idea how much it has changed my day to day life. Going here was kind of my last ditch effort. I was in terrible pain everyday, getting 3 to 4 hrs of sleep a night if I was lucky. I was at the point where my day to day chores were becoming difficult. I had been to numerous chiropractors, and while they did help, it was only a quick fix. Paying that much money, just to not hurt for a day was just not worth it anymore. I'm very impressed on how Dr. Johnston and his staff have handled my care, especially since it is an out of state car accident. They have surpassed my expectations on how they have handled my care and claim. When your x-rays are reviewed with you, they have top notch technology to show you on the body which nerves are connected to each area and how it affects in your body as a whole. Dr. Casey Johnston has been helping my family for a couple of years. Him and his office staff are always so caring and he takes time to listen to you. I started going to see him about 5 years ago always had some kind of back pain. After just a few months of seeing him I notice my body healing faster after any back injury I had. I started going to DSCC in August of 2014. I am 27 and had a ton of issues. Dr. Johnston and his team spend time with you to figure out what is wrong they are very thorough in making sure they diagnose every problem and figure out if they can help you. It's been 8 months and I feel amazing. My life has completely changed. I am able to workout and do normal household task I couldn't do before. I have been seeing Dr. Arthur for a herniated disc and a knee that has undergone several surgeries, but still causes a lot of pain. After just three weeks under Dr. Arthur's care, the improvement in both is amazing. Typically when my back would go out, I would hobble into the MD with a cane for a cortisone shot, and then spend the next three to four days down and out. When this happened recently, Dr. Arthur saw me right away. He knew exactly where the pain was, and after being treated, less than 24 hours later, I was moving around fine. No cane, no shot. This was something I was told I would have to live with until it was bad enough for surgery. I am thankful Dr. Arthur offered me a better prognosis, one that did not include regular suffering and future surgery. With the results I am seeing, he is right on the mark.

I've been seeing Dr Kohl a short time ago. After the exam and X-rays he explained to me what is going on with my spine, nerves and ultimately cause all of the pain that I just can't seem to shake. The damage may have been from auto accidents, a number of falls I have taken over the years, it just keeps adding to the subluxations that are in need of help. We decided on a plan of action that will probably take almost a year. They were able to come up with a financial arrangement that help to cover this. Dr Kohl, Dr Johnston and the staff are great. I have learned some exercises that will help with the adjustments that are done with the Pro Adjuster. I'm not pain free yet but we are moving in that direction. I highly recommend if your looking for a chiropractor that you give them a call. They even hold classes to give you more information to get you back in touch with your body and how to help in the healing process.
