I was in an auto accident and came to Acton Family for help. I was able to make an appointment very quickly and was surprised by the near immediate relief I received from my first adjustment. Not only did I walk away with better mobility and less pain, but I was given lots of information so that I could make an informative decision about my treatment plan. On each visit I have been greeted with warmth, my children are welcomed, and I have had success in my recovery. I highly recommend Acton Family Chiropractic.

After no results from going to Urgent Care and an Orthopedic Doctor I set an appointment with Dr. Acton (my husband has had success with him). I was experiencing extreme pain in my left hip and left leg. Dr. Acton was the most thorough doctor in his approach. After extensive test in the morning I went for my first adjustment that very afternoon. Now after 5 visits I am pain free. The office staff were super nice and accommodating. They feel like family!

After years of neglecting myself, I awoke with sciatica and spasms so severe I could hardly walk. Dr. Acton saw me immediately that morning and did a full workup. He made an additional appointment for that afternoon to review the results and give me my first adjustment. I spent the next 4 days in his capable hands, receiving adjustments and treatments. I was a bit better but skeptical. He said "give me two weeks" and I was anxious about that. I couldn't work in the state I was in and needed to get back quickly. In 9 days, not only could I drive myself again, I returned to work for a few hours and on day 12, was back at work full time! I was so very impressed with the professionalism and care from the entire staff including Finn and Alex, their adorable dogs! I was completely pain free after two weeks and plan to continue treatment, healing my back, and continue my journey back to health with the ever amazing Dr Acton!

I have been going to Dr. Acton for about 30 years. The first time I was there, I had been a car accident. My shoulder was almost dislocated. The hospital put me a sling and gave me pain medication. I was in pain. He relieved it the first time. My headaches were gone and my pain in my body was gone after a few visits. When my 5 year old was having headache, I knew something was wrong. The doctors told me it was growing pains. They were wrong. Her neck was very bad. She could have fell and broken her neck. I think he saved her life.

The entire staff is amazing and you'll feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The full panel of X-rays before treatments really clarified what needed to be addressed. The worst thing you can do is ignore your pain and let time go by. They're very upfront about their treatment plans as well, so no hidden costs. Where to begin when praising Dr. Acton's practice? I have been going to chiropractors for 60 years so can say that I have never experienced a doctor with such enthusiasm and passion for his patients' health. In his desire to educate, he sends out short videos which are filled with great advice. The initial evaluation was so thorough and enlightening for me, involving tests that employed state-of-the-art technology. The digital X-rays enabled me to clearly see the condition of my spine and other skeletal areas and the need for further adjustments. He is always open to questions and discussion and his friendly staff treat me like family. It doesn't hurt that there is an amazing masseuse there too. I always look forward to going to Dr. Acton's clinic for my monthly dose of health!

Hi, my name is Wallace Woods and I am 35 years old and suffer from peripheral neuropathy in my feet. I came to Dr. Acton’s practice in the spring of 2021 seeking any and all forms of help from the constant pain and discomfort; there I found the best care and relief I’ve experienced to date. I went through 12 treatments over a 2 month span and had a marked improvement in my feet, particularly in temperature and the sensation of electrical shocks dissipating. Exactly a year ago this month I walked into Acton Family Chiropractic, referred by a friend, with a pain in my left side. The pain had been off and on for ten years in my arm down to my waist. Dr. Acton met with me and said that he would let me know if he could help me or not after x-rays were taken. Well, he did help over the next three months he gradually aligned my spine. I do go back monthly for an adjustment to maintain my spine or eventually it would return to the same issue I was having before. I no longer have the pain on my left side. Thank you!!! Dr. Acton and his staff are AWESOME!! My father has used Dr. Acton for years. I was from out of state on vacation having severe back and should pain very reluctant to try Chiropractic services. After the first visit I had almost 100% mobility back with no PAIN! He was very attentive and gentle. Not at all what I expected. He has a genuine concern for all as I witnessed. After thoroughly evaluating me he has sent me home across three states with what I need to be able to establish a plan with a chiropractor of my choosing. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I was a chiro newbie going in, with severe shoulder and upper back pain due to a pinched nerve, along with frequent headaches 3 to 4 times a week. Even after the first visit I could tell a huge difference. I can now function like a normal person without any issues, and my headaches don’t happen anywhere near as often! Chiropractic has been my saving grace! It treats the root cause of the issue, not just the symptoms. I rarely have to take pain medication now which is awesome! The staff are also super friendly and accommodating. Everything they do is with a smile. I highly recommend chiropractic to anyone suffering with back and neck issues! It’s been a Godsend!

I've been seeing Dr. Acton periodically for about a year and a half now, and I really appreciate the quality of care I receive from both him and his staff. Everyone there is always very nice, welcoming and in a good mood, so going to get adjusted feels like going to see friends. I have a minor scoliosis as well as some shoulder pain from an old hockey injury and some lower back pain from working on concrete floors a lot. Over the time I've been going to Dr. Acton, I've noticed a slow progression in the improvement of my overall well being. For me, I always have immediate relief upon adjustment, but the greater effect is the long term improvement with repeat visits. I really like that Dr. Acton has an X Ray machine and uses it to show you tangible results from treatment. It's pretty rewarding to see the degrees of spinal curvature go down over time and to notice a corresponding improvement in my feeling of physical well being. A final positive note: Dr. Acton's cash discount program makes repeat visits (which are where the magic really happens) a realistic option, regardless of the insurance you have. For $40 you get a year membership that allows you to be adjusted for only $30. I'm really grateful to have found Dr. Acton's practice and I'd recommend him to anyone.

My husband and I have had back and neck problems for years. We wanted to get help but didn’t know where to go. After asking around, Actons Chiropractic was highly recommended by friends and neighbors. From my first visit I felt so comfortable with Dr. Acton. He was easy to talk and explained my treatment schedule to me that was clear . After viewing my X-rays Dr. Acton never made any false promises I appreciated that . My spine is crooked. He explained that he can not straighten it out but he can stop it from getting worse. That was good enough for me. After my second treatment my pain was 50% gone. Now after completing my third week of two times a week I have no pain at all. I also am able to turn my neck without pain . My husband also has had a positive experience and is feeling hopeful for the first time. Turns out his hip, back and knee pain is coming from his feet. Which always hurt him. I am updating my review. A few years ago I was referred to Acton Family Chiropractic by a friend of a relative. The initial encounter was positive and beneficial. In October 2020, I experienced a different problem and suffered severe pain and restricted movement. Another medical professional prescribed pain meds without an exam as a result of this pandemic. The Acton team examined me and outlined a plan for treatment which seemed reasonable. After the first visit, I began to feel better. Less than three months later and the treatment plan worked. I am sleeping better and have no pain in the problem area as I did in October. Dr. Acton has spent over 40 years helping people. I have known him for six years and he has helped me overcome two extremely painful problems. I am very grateful he continues helping people like me.

I met Dr. Don Acton at a music festival. When I shared with him that I was hiking the Appalachian Trail and had hurt my back, he shared with me he is a chiropractor located in Asheville, NC. He offered to try to help me with the pain I was experiencing. I have an extensive medical history involving severe scoliosis and multiple spinal surgeries with metal rod placements. Dr. Don Acton was familiar with all the procedures I had been through and I felt comfortable with his offer of assistance. He gave me an adjustment and then taped my back with KT tape. I felt immediate relief from the back pain and throughout the day, I even felt like I could breath better. This Dr. has an excellent "bedside" manner and is extremely knowledgeable. Several years ago my husband and I were traveling South. While there I developed a lower back ache (probably from lifting) that resulted in my not being able to get out of the car or walk without tremendous pain. It was so severe it reduced me to tears and we were driving, texting, etc., all over to see if any of the local chiropractors would see me because we had a very long journey to get back home. NO, was there response. Without being a patient (no matter how much pain I was in), they would not see me! I couldn't believe my ears at the lack of concern I was receiving. When we returned home I read the sign outside of his office, "Walk-ins Welcome". I entered the office of Dr. Acton with assistance from my husband and had my first adjustment! I walked out on my own! It does not always work this fast but for me it was a miracle! To further heal and maintain, I set up a schedule at first for 3 days a week. Everyday it improved and I was ballroom dancing again in no time. Now, I continue to maintain; not 3 days a week, but, once every 3 months approximately, and then, only when I feel it necessary. Dr. Acton and his tremendous knowledge, kindness, manner and sincerity are unmatched in my opinion and I am convinced that if it were not for these adjustments and his care, I would not be walking, dancing, singing, today! Starting 6-7 years ago I have been experiencing vertigo with vomiting up to 10-12 hours w each episode culminating in 1-2 episodes a weeks. I had a bad fall 7 years ago. Never thought about my spine being affected that high up. I was at my wits end. I started researching and went to numerous ENTs, fluid in the inner ear they said, Menieres was the diagnosis. Lots of medications and tests later I was not doing better. I starting reading everything I could get my hands on. I read that the C1-C2 misalignment can cause vertigo/Menieres. I found Dr. Acton online and read he adjusts those vertebrae. Not all do. Since October 28th I’ve had one, yes only 1, attack. I hope to get to 0. I was going to see him 3 times a week I’m down to 2 times a week, then once a week, then monthly maintenance. I’m thankful I found him and believe he has helped me. This is a debilitating malady with no known cause or cure according to medical doctors. I highly recommend him, his expertise and his office staff are the best.

As a busy ER nurse dealing with psoriatic arthritis, I began having some difficulty dealing with an acute exacerbation of chronic shoulder pain. I had gotten desperate enough to crawl into an urgent care on a Sunday morning, crying in pain. The Vicodin just made me sleepy. When I woke up, I still had pain & I couldn't take the medication & work. I was using heating pad, ice, TENS unit & topical treatments in addition to taking Tylenol & ibuprofen 3 times a day and muscle relaxers & pain medications at night.
