First time here and I was blown away by everything! The food was amazing, the atmosphere is fantastic with mid 2000's genre music, and the prices are great for how good the food is. I decided to go with the Hot Stuff Chicken knockout and I'll most definitely be getting that again. The chicken is well seasoned, the sweet peppers add a nice contrast to the jalapeno and sriracha mayo. The sauce is SO GOOD. Next time I'm going to ask for bacon to throw on there; I tried some from the wife's turkey club and it was perfect. We also tried the mac and cheese which wasn't bad. It's not as cheesy as I would like and needed some salt, but overall I would still get it again. The gentleman at the front counter was super helpful. He had asked us if we'd ever been there before and shared his recommendations as well as fan favorites and walked us through the menu. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

We had the Philly cheese steak & the Blatt. Both were excellent! The turkey was delicious & the avocado, lettuce, tomato and bacon were fresh and so good. The Philly cheese steak was a little spicy but still delicious. The bread on both sandwiches was fresh and yummy.

Stopped in for lunch, it was busy but totally doable on a lunch break. My meal came out fast. I had the panin with cheese, spinach, tomatoes and avocado sandwiche. I also had a side of potato, more sweet than tart, and yummy. They have a generous counter with seasoning and fixings to make anything your way, I was able to add olive oil and biasomic to my sandwiche, so amazing.

It was our first time in and it was soooooooo good! We walked in and the girl at the counter was incredibly friendly, and took the time to ask us questions about our day. We ordered the meatball, knuckle and cuban sandwiches and none of them disappointed. Portions were perfect and flavors were good! Personally got to give the owner the compliment and he was so kind. Restaurant was clean and vibe was good:) Highly recommend if you’re in the area and hungry!

Tried this for the first time tonight. VERY IMPRESSED. The wings were amazing. My husband and daughter got the spaghetti and meatballs and it was excellent. Large portions and great prices. They gave us free garlic knots because they were out of garlic bread and they were great! We will definitely be back! 😋

The Reuben was great. But unfortunately, the same issue I’ve had with them from before. Their kitchen ventilation is terrible. The whole dining area wreaks of burnt bread/meats or whatever. I stopped going for a while, but tried them again. Same issues. And I’ve commented directly to them on their site. Zero response. Too bad, because the food is good and I’d really like to support a local shop. But the smell gets in your clothes/hair. Keep smelling like it after you leave. Maybe just order ahead and takeout.

Awesome, the rueben was spot on &. The chopped salad was incredible....the two of them together will change your life....sorry that the salad is half eaten but it looked sooo good.... I started eating it and totally forgot to take a picture before I ravaged it ☺️☺️

I've gone to Knuckle Sandwiches now about 6 or 7 times. Every time I've ate something excellent. The place is a Sandwich shop located off of Higley and Brown in Mesa. It features homemade spin on sandwiches you know and love, and some you've never heard of (but will love when you try them). I've tried the following sandwiches: * Hero- italian meat sandwich * Meatball sub * Dagwood - ridiculously monstrous taste-fest * Cuban sandwich * Knuckle sandwich- pot roast on a bun * Meatloaf sandwich * Turkey Cranberry Sandwich- Thanksgiving on a bun I also tried 2 of the soups (clam chowder, chicken tortilla). Everything I have tried was wonderful. Great tastes. Plenty of options and flexibility with how you want things done. And MASSIVE portions. I ahd to bring home portions half of the time. Too big for one meal! The people are kind, and pricing is reasonable, in line with other local specialty sandwich shops. The shop has plenty of seating and good drink options as well. If you are east Mesa, you should check this place out. Great stuff.

Whoa...this place is awesome! Seriously what a great find. I had the Italian hero and it was nothing short of Italian greatness- served warm on crunchy bread. Not a chain, not your everyday sandwich shop, and not one single reason why you shouldn't come check this place out and have a killer sandwich.

I was pleasantly impressed with the quality & quantity of my Corned Beef & Pastrami Rueben Sandwich. They dont skimp on the meats. They add a generous amount of meet to their sandwiches. The flavor was spot on. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

OMG. I’ve driven past Knuckles for a year and just stoped in, I wish I would have eaten here sooner!! Four of us ordered sandwiches to take out. They were made to order and made to COMPLETE perfection. Two of us loved the turkey, cranberry, stuffing, and gravy sandwich w a delicious brioche bun. The pickles were fresh, crispy and tasty. The meat was not sliced deli meat, it was real meat. We also ordered a pastrami sandwich and the ham and meatball sub which were just so filling and flavorful. For first timers, we were super impressed. Will be back for breakfast burritos ASAP!

I thoroughly enjoy Knuckle Sandwiches. If you are looking for the corporate, polished place...this isn’t for you. Knuckle Sandwiches is simple and uniquely designed and they are always striving to improve the experience. The employees are nice and willing to lend a suggestion if needed. The sandwiches are good and it is by far my favorite sandwich spot in the East Valley. Where I gave it 4/5 stars is because of the consistency in quality. While I have not had a bad sandwich some are definitely fresher and better assembled than others. You should definitely support local and give them a try!

I had the Knockout sized Hero and it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. Truly. I don't say that lightly. It was amazing to say the least. My wife had the Pastrami and also really good. She loved it! This place is a special gem a and worth a trip for. They are still pretty new so some of the freestyle sodas were out but they will get this worked out soon. Our only complaint was that it was so good we both ate too much!

Meatball sub was better then average. The peppers are a nice touch. Potatoes salad was bland and somewhat sweet, I prefer more Dill then sweet relish in my potato salad. My girl enjoyed her philly steak and mushroom sandwich, just not fond of the potato salad..

Knuckle Sandwich is the best sandwich shop in Arizona. I typically get the Dagwood(pictured) but I have also got the Knuckle Sandwich. My wife and I try to visit once a week usually. They serve generous portions of meat and toppings. We saw they serve breakfast also, so we might stop by and try that soon. Thanks for the consistently great sandwiches!

They really are who and what they say they are! Really good food, tons of it is legit homemade, friendly folks - great for take out. If you get “The Knuckle Sandwich”, which is excellent BYW, ask for extra sauce. The meat it awesomely thick and I personally think it needs more of that great sauce.

Duuuuude! This place makes some bomb sandwiches! I got the turkey sandwich that has cranberry sauce, stuffing and gravy and it tasted like some of the best parts of Thanksgiving on a sandwich! I will be ordering a meatball sub next time I get a craving for an amazing sandwich. This was my first time ordering and I WAS NOT disappointed! 😊 Support local!!! *Update: I couldn't wait to try the meatball sub so I ordered that today and man! Is it delicious!!! A little bit hard to find at night because they don’t have a lit up sign outside, but it’s worth it. We had the BLATT and a meatball sub, which is big enough to easily be two meals. Great food, friendly people, looking forward to coming back and trying more items on their menu.

OMG! Sandwich toppings are thicker than the bread. Thank you for not metering every ounce like a chain restaurant. Steak sub is to die for. Krispy treat has real butter. Its mashmallow-ey, buttery, rich, and homemade! My second time having Knuckle Sandwiches and so far so EXCELLENT!

Amazing new local sandwich restaurant. The owner knows what he is doing and the staff is fantastic. Tastefully crafted sandwiches that have memorable flavor. My friends and I ordered the Dagwood, and it is exactly what you'd imagine a Dagwood Sandwich would be like. This sandwich is stacked tall with great ingredients, including hand carved meats and melted cheese. The sandwich looked like I wasn't going to be able to finish it, but like a great book I couldn't put it down till it was gone! I'd also recommend the Pasta Salad, and their chip selection is unique, try their Zappo's Voodoo kettle chips, I had never had them before but they were spectacular. I can't wait to tell my family and friends about this place, you NEED to come here and try their sandwiches, you will be thoroughly impressed.

Their Coke Freestyle was out of more than half of the drink options, and all of the diet choices. While they had a sign next to the machine apologizing for this, they should have warned us when we ordered our drinks. The restaurant really is a work in progress too. As another review noted, everything looked low-budget. Ambience is non-existent for now. I can only imagine how tough it is to open a place that's not a franchise. The restaurant began to fill up with more diners as we ate, and I figured Knuckle Sandwiches is trying to offer up good food, made with more care than the chains, so I would like to come back and support that.

The sandwich was very tasty but I don’t remember the overall experience knocking my socks off. I’ll have to give this place another chance because I hear they’ve come a long way since they first opened. Seems like a great family business that I would support moving forward.

Messy masterpiece! A pile of assorted meats on my Dagwood. All roasted and sliced in house. I like the sweet bread and butter pickles accompanied by the sour dill pickles. A simple mayo based sauce didn't over power the sandwich. The bread seemed to be house baked as well. The store looks to be in it's beginning stages with hand typed menus and handwritten order numbers. I would suggest the addition of fruit infused waters and a quality home brewed ice tea selection rather than just Come products and Fuze iced tea. I like the potato chip brand offered. They have a good thing going just need to fine tune a few things. I'll be back.

Our son is always looking for a good Philly Cheese steak sandwich so he wanted to try Knuckle Sandwiches'. He gave their Philly Cheese steak a Thumbs Up! Our party also had the Classic Tuna and the 4 Layer Veggie. The tuna was everything out should be. And the 4 Layer Veggie! I'm in love! Such a satisfying blend of flavors, especially the pesto. The dining area is comfortable and clean and the decor is fun. Knuckle Sandwiches is a place I look forward to revisiting. It's obvious the owners take pride in every aspect of their craft.

Many restaurants today with everything going on are charging more and cutting back as well has the food seems to be more low quality. I am happy to say, these guys may have raised their prices like everyone else but there quality of food is Awesome! Everyone seems to charge more and cut back on the quantity, NOT these guys!!! My wife Came in this morning for a burrito (02/20/2022) And WOW! We’ve been looking EVERYWHERE for over a year in Arizona for a killer breakfast burrito, something hot, fresh, and filling. Filled with so much flavor. My wife really wanted to find somewhere close to our house (this was 2 miles away) and so we decided to try this place out! The staff was so helpful, we got our breakfast burrito ( I swear the thing was 3lbs it was HUGE!) and it was so hot and fresh! I can’t believe there isn’t more of these places out there!! The staff in the building was so kind and helpful and overall we are so impressed! WAY better then anywhere else we have been!!! Good job!

Found this little gem while filling up on gas. Probably would not have noticed it otherwise given its location in a unassuming strip mall. Best Cuban sandwich I've ever had. My wife gets a variety of menu items and typically says they range from good to great, but I never stray away from the Cuban.

DELICIOUS!!! Five MILLION stars for the food; Five MILLION more for the service. We got a bit mixed up when ordering but the super friendly staff took care of it in an instant. Have been a couple times and they are solid sandwiches with great breads and meats and one of those computerized coke machines (but they also have Mexican sodas of you prefer). I haven't tried the desserts, but banana tart sounded and looked good.

We had their two most popular sandwiches which were both very good. My concern is regarding the numbers that you take back to your table and then they call your number instead of bringing it to your table. Why not just use names, or better yet, why not have one of the 4 people in back deliver to the table? Also, there was an elderly couple who obviously struggled to walk so with only 7 customers in the restaurant, again, why not at least take their food to their table? There was a younger (mid 30's I'd guess) chubby Hispanic guy taking our order who had an attitude. Good food, but not friendly nor accommodating. I'll go to Flancers next time.

Know that this deli style sandwich maker prides their from scratch prepared meats and poultry ( note of caution : turkey sandwiches have consistently been found with an occasional piece of gristle or small bone) . The pride is well deserved and it's a treat to enjoy a sandwich where salt can be added if you prefer. A good diverse menu ...enjoy!

I've had carry out from here about five times and never once had problems. I've never regretted getting hot sandwiches here, but sometimes I think their prices are a little on the high side. I'm just glad they were open during the flu hysteria and kept the business going. I recommend getting hot food here, but perhaps not their tiny sides, and probably not for dining in. Most of the sandwiches I've had here re-heated later in the day and were just fine. My favorite is their Hero, and I really like the bread.

Food was good but a little pricy for a sub sandwich in my opinion? ($12-16 was the average cost I believe) and it took a bit of a wait to get our order for take out(3 sandwiches took about 10 minutes despite no one in the restaurant)... the only other thing I noticed was that they had a big plate glass window that had cracks all over the glass that needed to be replaced at the end of the counter where you get in line to order....still gave a 4 star rating as the employees were nice and the food was good overall!

When I ordered the Turkey Panini I didn't expect turkey that looked like it was sliced off a thanksgiving dinner turkey. My girlfriends ham sandwich wasn't any kind of lunch/deli meat either, more like slices of ham off the bone. I don't know if all their sandwiches are at that level, but I dig it overall.

Met the owner this morning while eating breakfast. We got talking and he told me about his sandwich shop. My wife and I were very intrigued by the fact that they don’t use cold cuts at all. All meats are cooked fresh in-store. So we said we see him tonight for dinner. The place is very spacious and clean. My wife ordered the cheesesteak and was blown away. We’re from NY and we’ve had many cheesesteaks but this one takes the ribbon. I ordered pastrami on rye; I neglected to ask what all came on the sandwich and it arrived with mayonnaise and pickles. My mistake, they took back the sandwich and made one precisely to my specifications. Again being from New York I’ve eaten at my fair share of kosher diners and delis. This pastrami was incredibly fresh and leaner than any I’ve ever had, even when paying extra for a lean pastrami. In short we simply can’t wait until we’re hungry again so we can come back.

I’ve picked up many orders from here doing doordash and because of the popularity and aroma I was tempted to try, so I finally did and was not disappointed at all! I HIGHLY recommend the breakfast burrito, it’s fat and delicious! I’ve also had the Cuban and damn that’s a mighty good sandwich! Whenever I deliver to people from other sandwich places or breakfast burritos, I always recommend them to try Knuckle Sandwiches next time instead!

These are the best sandwiches in the world! If you ever find yourself in Arizona and your 100 miles within a Knuckle Sandwich HIT THE GAS! Absolutely nothing beats their ingredients and portions. Everyone that works here is friendly and all the food is made with TRUE LOVE! Not a sandwich fan? Overall the Corned Beef Ruben sandwich that I picked up and look forward to trying it again, but I'll eat it at the restaurant. I placed the pickup order earlier in the day, to be picked up at 3:45pm, so that I could enjoy it with my Dad, while it was still warm. At 3:15pm, I got a text, telling me that my order was ready to pickup. Since this sandwich is supposed to be a hot sandwich, when I got there, I asked them if they send the text when it's ready. usually they do. But I said that having it ready a 1/2 an hour before I requested it was too long and it would cool of an get soggy. If it was a cold sandwich, it wouldn't matter that they made it that soon. She asked if I wanted a new one made, I said that would be great. Less than 5 minutes later I had a supposed "new" sandwich, but when I got it home, it was warm, still still soggy, so I don't believe it was a new sandwich. Word to the wise, don't pre-order a hot sandwich, to be picked up at a later time, if you want it warm and toasty!

Amazing! Customer service was top notch. I had the turkey cranberry. I highly recommend it for anyone in the Thanksgiving meal mood or those who might not be able to partake in a feast. The person I went with had the knuckle sandwich and he absolutely loved it. It's more than I'm used to paying for sandwiches but you get what you pay for. The meat quality was insanely delicious.

This was our 1st time here and 1st impressions are very lasting. Although my 1st impression was not good. That is why the 4 star review. Getting out of the car the 1st thing I see is a lot of wrappers, dirt and leaves and a broken window at the bottom. The amount of debris that was at the front entrance was caused by the previous storms we have had but those were a couple of days ago. Should of had the front cleaned prior to opening for the day. The girl that took our order was really tired and you could tell that she asked about our plans for the day but you could tell it was a rehearsed question. Our food breakfast burrito was super. Very filling and good. I will go back and want to try the turkey cranberry and a Reuben. But the employees need to pay attention to the big picture. That is why the 4 instead of a 5!

Favorite sandwich joint, hands down! Outstanding as always, but please, please, please consider extending breakfast hours on weekends or maybe at least on Sundays. Your breakfast burrito & sandwich are great and I've had to take a large order elsewhere 2x now because I missed the cut-off. Today I learned it changed from 11:30 to 10:30 and missed out yet again. Please consider the brunch crowd, church-goers, etc., I'm sure it would be worth it!

What a shame. I really enjoyed my first visit to Knuckle Sandwiches. Unfortunately today was very disappointing. I ordered the Corned Beef sandwich and was served pot roast. I sent it back and they returned it saying it was corned beef, it's just cooked differently. I'm a food guy. I know the difference between the two. Funny thing was I ordered the same sandwich about two weeks ago and it was absolutely fabulous and truly corned beef. I will most likely find a new sandwich shop. Update: I visited again today to see if the issue had been resolved. Thankfully it had and I almost ordered one to go because it was great. Thanks Roscoe. The Reuben sandwiches are why I go to Knuckle Sandwiches! They have two versions... Corned Beef and Pastrami. While I am particularly fond of the Pastrami Reuben, the Corned Beef Reuben is tasty as well. I have also tried their Turkey/Stuffing sandwich and marveled at the flavor! While I will certainly be going back for the Reubens, I will make an effort to try some of their other sandwiches. I know I will not be disappointed.

When my son was young he told me he was hungry. I offered many options. He said no to all of them. So I asked him if he wanted a knuckle sandwich. He came around the corner and asked what was on it. He turned 28 on August 23rd. When my sister passed in 2014 it knocked us into a spiral. My son and I decided to move from MI. He asked for a little more time with his grandma. A month after she passed we moved to AZ. With a few unfortunate things we were not able to celebrate his birthday. I came across and asked for Knuckle Sandwiches. I was determined to go there for his birthday this year. Because if our conversation many years ago we wanted a pic for the memory. I had brief text msgs with Roscoe. He was not there when we went. However his staff was amazing as was the food. I had the turkey cranberry and bread pudding, that sauce is delicious. Andrew got a corn beef Rueben and of course the knuckle sandwich. Food was great and my 15 year old proclaimed it one of the best sandwiches(the knuckle sandwich) he has ever had (granted he is 15 so how many sandwiches could he possibly have eaten) . Best Cuban Sandwich I had in Arizona since moving from New York 3 years ago. The only negative about the sandwich the pork needed just a little more seasoning. I am not sure how the pork was cooked, but it needed a little more salt and pepper to bring out more of the pork flavor. The honey mustard flavor took over the sandwich by the end. Other than that it was a pretty good sandwich. Good quality and fresh ingredients. The bread is also really good. Hard to find good bread in Arizona. The pasta salad was ok. I feel like the pasta needs to be cook more Al Dente. The pasta salad dressing will marinade the pasta and make it softer. Will definitely go back and try other items in their menu.

Was driving by and saw that there was a new sandwich shop in the plaza. Decided to check it out for lunch. I ordered the B.L.A.T.T. Overall it was a great sandwich. The turkey was nice and juicy. The lettuce, tomato, and avocado were fresh. The bacon was crunchy. The bread was a little on the dry side but nothing that stopped me from enjoying the sandwich. Definitely the go to sandwich shop in Mesa!

*UPDATE* I wanted to give an updated review. Rosco really helped me out this week! We have meetings Friday mornings and this place is really close to my work. I asked if I could do a call in order the day before and have it ready for pick up the next morning at 7:30am (they open for business at 8). He said no problem! He was very thorough with my order, making sure to separate them by name (to make my life easier lol). I got there and everything was ready to go! Food was delicious and warm! Will definitely use them again! Food is really good. However, wait times are bad! I know it is a new place so they are getting into the groove of things....but I had to wait 20 min for a bagel sandwich. Seems a bit ridiculous to me.

Tried a new Mesa neighborhood restaurant today, Knuckle Sandwiches. Very impressed. The owner, Rosco was very present, and lovely to talk with, but the best part was the food. I had the Hero, and my Mom had the Brie and Apple Pannini. Bravo Rosco!!!!! Neither of us could finish these fun monster sandwiches. The Hero is stuffed with 5, yes 5 different Italian cold cuts!!! Mortadella and Capacola never show up at the "other" sandwich shops. Then they add 2 types of cheese!! Hero, hoagie and submarine sandwich lovers, this sandwich is a true winner!! The Pannini was also large and delicious. Moms comment was "they sure don't skimp on the Brie!!!" They deliver with all of the car services, and are open until 9pm, which is a real plus for me. Rosco, We can't wait to sample all of the wonderful sandwiches, soups, and salads you are serving!! Hurray for independent business owners giving us some choices in Mesa. We wish you great success!!
