The Weekend spot catered my daughter’s Sweet 16 party and the food was wonderful. My guest enjoyed the food and wanted to take some home with them. Not only the food is delicious Chef Mo the owner is a wonderful person! Chef Mo is easy to talk and makes sure you are happy with your experience.

Been a ‘weekender’ for several years now and Chef Mo never disappoints. Look no further for classic soul dishes made from top quality ingredients. My personal favorites are the crab cakes, ox tail, fried chicken/wings, and fried seafood. Corn bread soufflé is amazing but not always available. They are on some of the food delivery apps but are not always active. Always best to call in your order. Like the menu says, NOT a fast food restaurant, but that’s kinda the point. Catering services are also fantastic and very reasonably priced.

Hands down the best take-out food I’ve had in very long time. Tried this place based on the description and high reviews and was not disappointed with anything. Jerk salmon collard greens and baked Mac&Cheese was mouth watering, lip smacking, and foot tapping for real!!! Definitely adding as my top dine out restaurant!

This is my first review (I think) I’m writing for a restaurant. I was scared to order the wings because at a lot of places the wings are so small. The wings here were AMAZING. 10/10. I didn’t expect them to be the size they were I didn’t even finish my dinner and had left overs. Taste was amazing as well. For the price of the wings I was extremely amazed

I was near the area and wanted to give this place a try. I ordered online the southern baked chicken, collard and cabbage mix and yellow rice and it said about 30 to 40 minutes and it came to $14.66. I arrived at the restaurant about 20 minutes later and walked in and a few people were waiting. The nice young man Jay said it wasn't ready. As I waiting the line got longer and longer. I waited about 40 more minutes for my food. The wait was ridiculous and the communication was terrible. Yes the server was very nice but that wait will keep me from returning. When it was done I grabbed my food and uptown and left. As I drove home I drank some of the uptown and it was ok. When I got home and ate the baked chicken was good and so was the yellow rice. The collard greens and cabbage was a bit salty. All in all I only had an ok experience.

Guys I am telling you my husband & I are real food critics. I must say The Weekend Spot Restaurant have surpassed our expectations to say the least. We tried 2 dinners from the restaurant for the first time on Friday Jan 14, 2022 and we were back on Sunday ordering 4 more dinners. The only thing on Friday was the draining of Fried foods, but I told them about it and they complied. The fried shrimp were delicious along with the sweet potatoes with pineapple/raisins, garlic mash, sautéed spinach and collars were on point. They know how to feed you as well. All I ask for is consistency. There a wait for the food, but if you call in your order ahead of time it will take about 45-50 minutes. I don't care a lot about the wait as long as the food is cooked to perfection. We will be back.

I've been ordering dinner plates and food from TWS for years now and it really is the measuring stick when it comes to taste, consistency and overall meal quality and portion size in Ricosoul in the area. Come hungry! You will definitely be able to eat 2-3 times off your meal plate which makes the prices of the food WORTH IT! I recently had Mo and TWS cater an event for 70 of my close family and friends and everybody not only loved the food, but remarked that they wanted TWS contact info. Food was so tasty and a hit! Pleasure doing business! Mo, is a true professional even when she experiences personal hardships. She will get the job done. Im a huge fan!

I love this place the food is delicious. I order from here often, and I haven't had a bad meal yet. I would suggest ordering early, especially if you're planning on getting the oxtails; they sell out quickly. And don't forget desertion won't be disappointed.

Ordered food for an event, The Weekend Spot did not disappoint as usual. Ordered through door dash the first time and everyone loved the food. It was packed well and arrived ready to eat. My second order was for a larger party that was delivered curb side. My guests loved the food, especially the catfish nuggets and Mac and cheese. Unfortunately, no leftovers, because everyone took seconds. Keep up the great work Monique, Kareem and the rest of the staff at The Weekend Spot!!

I don't know if the ingredients changed but months ago I had the bbq chicken wings and they were fantastic but this time they were salty and even started to upset my stomach. Maybe it's a time thing and the chicken was rushed but hopefully I would have the fantastic chicken again I had months ago

First off let me say this was a birthday Treat from me to me I ordered lemon peepper wings/Buffalo wings with mixed greens with cabbage macaroni and cheese with sweet potatoe and corn bread.. The food was solo delicious like omg I ate like a pig lol and shared it with 2 other people. The rings were to die for and the cabbage omg . Her hospitality was above and beyond and she came out and introduced herself to me as the chef and welcomed into her restaurant as though I was family... She cooks from the heart and when you taste her cooking you can tell. I definitely will be returning but Chef Monique if you happen to read this review thank you it was a pleasure meeting you and a honor to eat from your establishment 😊

Their food was so delicious, but I ask for just cabbage and I received, cabbage and collards mix, but that was good as well. You wont be disappointed with the food. I had Baked chicken that was sooo juicy, mac and cheese that was good as well. The food presentation was excellent and very polite and professional staff!... Black owned check them out!

The menu selection is really good and creative. Everything from starters to dessert looked good. Portions were also good. Everyone was nice and professional. My only complaint is the food was a little too salty. It had all the right seasonings, textures, and was cooked to perfection. You could tell whoever cooks there is a home cook who doesn't measure ingredients which is usually the best, but i guess they had an off day that day and couldn't tell how much salt they added. Probably just an off day. I give them the benefit of the doubt because of how well everything was cooked. Like an auntie that's been cooking every Thanksgiving since she was 12. I recommend going here.

As we were passing through NJ from a weekend road trip we got hungry. So we typed in black owned restaurant because my friends and I like to patronize our people and The Weekend Restaurant came up. My sister called to see if they have a table for six and she said the lady was super nice and welcoming over the phone and it was a BYOB. When we got there they were just opening for their lunch menu. The waitress greeted us with a big smile and welcomed us in to seat us. She was extremely nice and even the owner came out to greet us which was really nice. The service was phenomenal the waitress was super nice and patient with us the whole time. There was a bit of wait time for the food but when our food came that was DELICIOUS!!! Nice presentation, hot, great portions and we got cornbread on the side which was amazing!!! It was so delicious when we were finish eating we ordered food to go!!! The owner and head chef came out and asked how it was and we give them sooo many complements and thanked them for such a wonderful experience!!! EVERYONE GO AND VISIT THIS RESTAURANT!!! BEST FOOD EVER!!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of meeting 2 great ladies and I’m certain the entire staff is just as great. I’ve ordered via Uber eats but I’d never actually visited the restaurant. Upon placing my order over the phone it was the most pleasant delightful voice which I learned was the owner Monique. I raved when I walked inside to pay for my order Candi was also just the sweetest. I’ve found that a lot of businesses are lacking in the customer service experience. Thankfully that’s not the case at The Weekend Spot. Onto the food they make certain that your order is correct I appreciate that. I love the BBQ shrimp, Honey BBQ chicken, Mac n Cheese ohhh so good! Newly discovered is their Crab and Corn soup so perfect for fall and it tastes amazing. I’m sure that I’ll be placing another order this week and I’ll make sure I don’t forget cornbread with my order. Great business great food and wonderful people. Give them a try. 😊

Excellent service despite COVID limiting to only take out. Ordering via website was followed quickly with confirmation of pickup time window. The gang and I were passing through NJ and googled a black owned businesses to patronize for a great meal before heading back to Philly...the initial phone call was very professional and detailed to our needs...Ms. Monique and her staff treated us like family. The gang and I ate family style (shared plates) and EVERTHING was amazingly seasoned, perfect, temperature, and sharing portions. The plus was the BYOB and the staff for being patient with us. Traveled all the way from Brooklyn to pick up food on Sunday that I ordered on Friday for Moms birthday. On Sunday, I pulled up, gave my name, and waited no more than two minutes for all of the food to be dropped off curb side in secure boxes. By the way, this establishment reps the Dallas Cowboys, so salute!!!! Anyway, the catfish was superb, the macaroni tuna salad was like auntie's, the Mac and cheese was crazy, cabbage was str8 $$$, and everyone loved it. Please give The Weekend Spot a look!!!

**I ordered from Uber Eats** Pros- the Mac and cheese tasted very good, and the packaging was really nice. I almost kept them for future use because they seem really sturdy and microwave safe. I would have liked some plastic ware but that’s not really necessary. Salmon was cooked nicely but it did taste a little salty. Still ate it though 👍🏽 Cons- I’m disappointed with how my penne and vodka sauce tasted, it tasted as if the vodka wasn’t cooked out all the way. With the sweet mashed potatoes- My husband was surprised to find raisins in it. He didn’t didn’t like that very much.Salmon was a bit salty but he still ate it. All in all I would try again, maybe earlier in the day as our order was delayed by about 20 minutes by the restaurant.

Last night I placed an order. I ordered catfish and yellow rice with pigeon peas and i had an uptown and plantains. My daughter in law had grilled shrimp with herbs and garlic white rice and cabbage. The food was still hot when it got to us. The taste abd seasoning was everything. They called us as well to tell us what wasn't available. Thank you Monique for your great customer service. Ordered 3 times. 1st time the food took 2 hours thru Uber eats, but it was good. Second time I ordered it didnt look like it did the 1st time but it was good. Third time I ordered Oxtails and Grits and got oxtail gravy. No meat. My sons waffle was burnt and all our gravy was all in the bag. Please black business, take your time and think about your customers. Food is good, but we probably won't order again. Too many issues, too many times.

My daughter and I came here for breakfast 4 months ago. We arrived and immediately was seated. At first were going to leave, thinking no one but us was there. And the ambiance was a little out dated...but dont judge a book by its cover. I was introduced by the owner herself...amazing and beautiful person ..but she fixed my butt(lol) because I told her we were from Brooklyn, NY where we were use to live music and plenty of people for brunch. But the food was great!!! It took a little long, but it was ok as I was spending quality time with my daughter. And the wait was worth it provided the food was made to order. The salmon cakes are so good we had to order extra for take out...I had shrimp and grits which was great. We had plenty of food for a great price...the only thing is that they are not open everyday ☹. The owner was very friendly...will be there again with my family shortly.

Delicious Soul Food. Everything is good...from the vegetables (collards, cabbage, spinach, etc) to the meats (turkey wings, chicken, chops, etc) to the sides (potato salad, mashed potatoes, rice n beans, Mac n cheese, etc) and even their seafood!! The only reason I don't rate it 5 stars is because the food takes too long to come out.
