Reviews of Tartine
Shaun Young
Tartine is a quaint cafe just blocks away from Audubon Park. It’s the perfect place for a quiet breakfast (at least when I went on a weekday morning.)
The first thing you’ll notice is the scent of smoked turkey and bacon wafting from the restaurant. There are ample outdoor tables to bring your four-legged friend.
The food is fantastic. I had the baked eggs in brioche. It was hearty and delicious. I ordered a side of bacon which was perfectly crispy. Tartine moves to the top of my list for breakfast spots as the food is great and it’s away from the bustle of tourists near the Quarter.

This is our favorite breakfast place. We come here every other weekend. My favorite is the bagel with lox and my husband loves the scones with lemon curd. This place is a hidden gem and I cannot recommend it enough.
NewOrleans Food Lover
Little hole in the wall that I literally drove past dozens of times before I tried them. We had a turkey sandwich and a steak salad. For dessert I grabbed a piece of their king cake. The turkey sandwich was nice. The bread had a nice "chew" to it and the cheese went well with the turkey. We were a little disappointed with the steak salad. The salad and dressing were good, but the steak was a little "gamey". I don't know if this was due to the marinade or the preparation. Save room for a piece of the king cake. Dang, this was one of the best that I have tried in the city. I go back just for the desert.

Wow! Truly the best tart I have ever had in my life. The filling was light and fluffy and the crust was crispy and savory. Also, some of the best drip coffee I’ve had in New Orleans. I also spilt a ham and Brie tartine with my dad and it seemed simple but was so tasty and fresh. You can tell they’re using top notch ingredients. Love this place!
Emily Rosenzweig
Food here is just amazing -- absolutely everything. Best quiche I've ever had by a long shot. Best scones I've ever had, with lemon curd to die for. Salads are giant and fresh and incredible. One of the very best king cakes in the city. Wish their coffee was better but that's really the only bad thing I can say. I take visitors here all the time.

We saw this restaurant on a food show and we had to check it out on vacation for my cousins birthday!!! What a treat. Great menu selection. One regular was nice enough to snap a pic of us 🥰💕😆 she recommended the brioche bun egg one and it was a delicious creamy if you like poached eggs. The place had plenty awards inside too and smelled great. I want to bring my family when we come back!
Christina Albronda
Quite possibly the best roasted chicken salad we’ve ever had.
Patsy Campbell
My ham and brie with fig mustard tartine on a nice fresh baguette was great. But I don't know why they keep serving that bean side dish....I have never liked it and I'll bet I'm not the only one.
Austin Nunez
YO TARTINE LOWKEY GOT SOME OF THE BEST KING CAKES OUT THERE NO CAP
Stacie Hupp
Great atmosphere with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. We got the smoked turkey tartine and the brioche with the poached eggs. The brioche was unbelievable! The eggs were cooked perfectly and exerting was so flavorful. The service was friendly and quick considering how many people seemed to walk in at once. Counter service with food brought to your seat.
Juanita Castelo
One of my all-time favorite places. Just the best brunch spot, and their breakfast is amazing! Very cute and clean with french country decor & a nice outdoor patio. Service is always great and the prices are really reasonable for what you get. The tartines are perfect, but their ever changing breakfast sandwiches get me every time. I'm never disappointed! I even love the bean salad that comes with the sandwiches, and I hate beans lol. It's an easy place to miss, in the middle of a residential neighborhood, but parking is ample & it's totally worth the search!!!
Nadine Vitenas
One of the best sandwiches I have had in the city!! Tartine also has my absolute favorite king cake! Trust me, I have tried many... Grab a piece and a sandwich the next time you're at Audubon or in the area. You won't regret it! Enjoy!!

A hidden little place for breakfast/lunch/brunch. Exceptional menu with a delicious taste. Everything is fresh and from scratch. Very friendly staff and reasonable price! We Recommended! 😋😋😋
Douglas Sandler
This is a really nice, small place. It is counter service but the food is really good. One of the best egg sandwiches I've had! The ambiance is nice also.
Michael Saucier
Ok ok ok. Alright…. Here is what you do…. You get your lady, jump in the car and get one bagel lox and one poached egg in brioche add bacon. Two iced coffees with cream. You take that over to Audubon park and you sit there and take in the best breakfast around and the pretty scenery. That’s what you do. Tartine is freakin AWESOME!
Mercedes Wood
Nobody was there at noon on Tuesday. Super small and quick sandwitch shop. Great for breakfast or lunch. I got the turkey sandwitch and it’s perfect for a light healthy lunch. Beans included! $11 total
Matt Ford De:KF5JRP
The ice maker didn't have ice and they ran out of tea and continued to sell it without telling customers. There is not a whole lot of sitting areas but the food was awesome.
Ellie Guerm
Absolutely loved the place. Delicious home-made food, fantastic bread, elaborate dishes. Enjoyed every single bite of it and will certainly come back whenever I get a chance. Highly recommended!
Jenine Dabon
I so love this little neighborhood gem. The food is always excellent and I absolutely love that they keep it interesting by offering great daily specials. I just enjoyed a chicken feta and strawberry salad over arugula! It was divine!
Susie Brubaker
Superb little find. Superior salads and sandwiches, outdoor seating
Tiffany Gilly-Forrer
Great food and cute atmosphere, but the inside is a little messy and chaotic.
Jack Lewsley
Tartine is always delicious, I get whichever quiche is on special that day and it never lets me down. Always a quaint atmosphere and friendly staff.

Update (04/22/22) - I still really really love the food here, but the service here lately has been bad. I think there just be new owners as it's an all new staff that don't really speak English. This makes it so they only have one person interfacing with customers (taking orders, handling pick up orders, running food etc.) The service is slow. It's not as friendly it once was. With that said, the food is still very delicious. There's even more seating outside now which is a must. The ventilation inside is non existent, so if you dine, you'll smell if grease. Updated rating from five to four stars due to the degraded service.
This is one of my absolute favorite places in town. I love coming here for breakfast.. The food is always consistent, delicious, and fresh. My favorite items are the house pate tartine, egg salad tartine, any of their quiche, ham and brie tartine, and steak sandwich.
Taylor Lee
King cake was delicious! It was nice and warm. Friendly staff
Mariel Updegrove
Bought a fantastic cinnamon cream cheese king cake here. Ordered online to pick it up later that same day! I would argue this place makes one of the best king cakes in the city.
Hadi Al
The best hidden uptown secret ! Great sandwiches! Fresh and delicious
connie tarbah
I thought this was a fantastic place to have lunch. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful day. Our sandwiches were really good and the prices more than fair. I would definitely recommend Tartines
Corey Gardner
Seating indoors and out, small interior, order and pay and then they bring your food, the food was delicious and reasonable portion sizes, we left feeling satiated and happy with our visit. The menu is unique and the neighborhood is quiet and a wonderful walk from Audubon.
Simeon Carpenter
I worked here years ago and I'm proud of that and the food is still as good. And Betty is amazing
Siddharth Kawadiya
Good place for breakfast, with a decent selection on the menu and a nice vibe.
John
Really neat breakfast and sandwich gem in the Audubon area. Order at the counter and enjoy the patio or inside seating. Food was great. I had oven roasted turkey sandwich and asked for it to be toasted, but everyone in my party ordered something unique (including the kids) and everyone enjoyed! Very friendly service!
Genevieve Miskell
Very accommodating for the large order I placed. Food was very fresh and the salads especially were unique and delicious!
Valerie Kilpatrick
Always great. Especially the quiche, which is quite tall. Has perfect texture, fluffy ... while also being sinfully and richly flavored. I usually make someone else order it so I can steal a bite without eating it all. Salad and turkey sandwich on their bread is great too.
Brigid Pfenninger
Great brunch spot!! BYOB
cpkess28
Salad was large and delicious. Open faced egg salad sandwich had half taken home because it was very filling. Side of three bean salad was very tasty
Steve Grappo
We had the ham and brie sandwich, on a perfectly toasted french roll, cream of cauliflower soup and a green salad. We didn't need to get the full salad, but the dressing was scrumptious and this was not a typical green salad, very special. The soup was great and the sandwich exceptional. Order at the counter and they will bring the food, water, tea or coffee is self-service. There is a single restroom here, closes at 3. We got there just in time at 230.
Bill Henriques
Small little cafe just off of Broadway. They bake their own bread and have incredible sandwiches. I had the eggplant and mozzarella sandwich. It has pesto and tomatoes on it as well served hot. They also had this incredible bean salad that I wanted to lick the last few drops out of the bowl of the French dressing they make there. Highly recommended.
Megan Parks
My favorite restaurant in New Orleans! No matter what you get, after you eat their food you just feel good. It's fresh, tasty, and always a treat. Make sure to try their amazing house-made strawberry jam!
Patrick Bordnick
Excellent lunch and breakfast. Tartine is the go-to place excellent French style breakfast, homemade pastries and quiche. We've been here 30 times, each time it has been a delightful meal and experience.
Carl Thomas
Eggs and grits with blueberry sausage fantastic! Salmon rillettes amazing. Nice service and crowd.
Tiffany Bell
The best breakfast/brunch/lunch spot! Such a cozy atmosphere and everything on the menu is great! (I highly recommend the savory and classic ham tartine.) Very close to Audubon Park and Audubon Zoo--I highly suggest going here for breakfast/brunch before a day trip to the zoo!
Julia Faraldo
Quintessential New Orleans experience. I wanted the brioche but personally not fond of "runny" eggs so I chose the quiche. Wow!! Seriously good. Order at the counter and go sit down. Goodness delivered to your table!!
Susan Salomone
We are regular Sunday breakfast patrons. The food is always delicious - not necessarily healthy, but you can choose good options that are really good. Plus, you always smell like bacon when you leave. What's not to love about that?!
Biker Doux
I love this hidden away spot. Great breakfast food. Delicious baked goodies. Great dark coffee. And a covered outdoor seating area. A real New Orleans gem.
Helena Mouskouri
Delicious food and great service!
Aaron Chinn
We were so pleased. Service was kind, patient, and helpful. The ham tartine was perfectly balanced between the ham, brie, and sweet, spicy mustard (on a skinny bagguet, so not stupid huge, but very large -- 2 halves almost 6in). The salad was surprisingly huge with half an avocado, plenty of Mandarin oranges, and generous cured salmon, with a delightfully light dressing. A great way to end a walk around the park, or simply enjoy a spring afternoon.
Riain Rising
Its almost needed to review eateries after Covid-19. With a countrywide economic shakeup on its heels, Tartine found the time to remodel the porch so we can eat outside. The food is still good and the porch is quaint and warm.
Brian London
It's a hidden gem--easily my favorite place to get breakfast in New Orleans. Don't miss out on the baked eggs in brioche: they're amazing.
Zoo Bee
Cute little space with great food and sandwiches. Not for morning coffee however as I don't consider nesspresso latte, real espresso coffee.
Donald Miller
Used to be one of my favorite restaurants until I saw the woman making my salad without both gloves on. My request to make my salad over with both gloves on was ignored 3 times so I cancelled order and left. Besides Covid, HEPATITIS 1 is going around....
JeAnne Swinley
The eggs poached with the brioche and bechamel are a must. I hear lunch is pretty great too. Cute little place with delicious coffee and baked treats.
Maryjane Potts
Tartine is a quaint and cozy Uptown hideaway that offers European style fair at reasonable prices. It isnt touristy, but some "in the know" tourists that have done their homework might make their way there. Highly recommend for a lovely lunch!
Angelia Lewis
Really good food, and the young man who served me was very helpful and very pleasant. However, the register was right in front of the wide open kitchen where the kitchen staff blatantly ignored me while I waited for someone to a knowledge my presence and take my order. The least they could've done was greeted me and tell me that someone would be with me in a minute.
Consuello Carr
A great fresh menu. I love it for breakfast as well as lunch! The nicest staff.
Brian “Support” Morris
Very good food, but a tad bit to expensive to visit daily. Definatly a place to go at least once in a while though especially if you are only visiting New Orleans. The eating accommodations are a little cramped of eating in a large group (8+) but they get your food out fast and fresh!
Rolanda Ridley
Tartine is an excellent little bistro! It is gourmet fast food, you can get a high quality meal similar to what you will find at a 5 star restaurant for a 1/3 of the price. Anything you get at Tartine will be absolutely wonderful! I highly recommend it!
Amy Lyons
Delicious hidden gem on Tulane campus
Ty Provosty
My new favorite breakfast spot here in New Orleans. Quiet. Tucked away. Great offerings. Delicious backed goods. Give yourself a treat! GO!
Lydia Fairbanks
Wonderful food! The daily quiches are superb! Scones with lemon curd are another delight. Also, the staff is so nice!
Molly Neuforth
The turkey sandwich was great. Steak one was bad but it wasn't great. My only complaint. I need the cauliflower soup recipe!
Valli Funk
Tartine has a unique menu, the ham and brie tartine and cappuccino that I ordered were absolutely delicious. I'm coming back for the sandwich haha. It was really good.
Jamie C
I had baked eggs in brioche and it was absolutely delicious! I'm going to come back to try some of their other offerings.
ps dantonio
Cute and quaint breakfast/brunch location. I stopped in during a walk and enjoyed a generously sized portion of quiche. I took a baguette with me to go which was just good!
Ahmad Majed
Amazing experience! Best King Cake ever! The filling is everywhere, not just the center like other cakes. Totally underrated!
Barre Rousset
My wife had the quiche and said it was the best she's had. I had the steak salad and while good, the steak was not the best. I would definitely give it another try.
Linda Williams
The food is prepared perfectly and you can sit outside or do carry out. Breakfast is wonderful!
Lisa Carbonari
Tartine is the best kept secret in uptown! They serve huge portions of absolutely delicious food. They also sell the best king cake I've ever had!
Alisa Raymond
Food is consistently excellent, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are decent, restaurant is very clean, service is fast and the little patio is great even on a rainy day. Will always go back.

Oh such a perfect french style hideaway breakfast/cafe. Sandwiches, breakfast and coffee are all lovely on the little porch or inside while it rains. A lovely escape for mind and belly
Christopher Dixon
Tartine with Brie, eggs and bacon was amazing. Everything was fresh and great, bread was incredible, so was the fresh jam, and very generous portions.
Jerry Lenaz
Great little French bistro hidden away near Tulane and Audubon Park. Fresh salads, quiches and specialty sandwich to enjoy inside or out on their covered patio.
Jordan W
Favorite. I've been here more than half a dozen times and regularly recommend it to my customers (I work at a casual fine dining restaurant). The salmon rillette is my go-to.

My husband and I ordered a king cake to be delivered to our hotel. Process was easy and the king cake was fresh. It was delicious however, I do wish there was a little less filling. I would have liked to taste more of the brioche bread since it was really tasty. Would order again.

(Translation) I just changed my review! I had put 2 stars, 6 years ago, for problems of slowness and hygiene! I go from 2 to 5 stars! It's good, fresh, fast and original in New Orleans! My colleagues love the tuna rillettes, my classic is the egg salad toast! The side bean salad has a fantastic dressing! There is also a quiche of the day, a soup of the day, a stuffed baguette of the day and homemade pastries! In short, Tartine has returned me!

Bref, Tartine m'a retourné!
